Certain Text messages not received by certain iphone users

hi, i am not receiving certain text messages from certain iphone users. I previously had a iphone 4 and i already turned off the imessage on the phone.

Hello Justinwong221,
Have no fear, help is here! I can help with receiving text from iPhone users. I'm glad to see that you have turned off iMessage. The next step is to delete the entire text conversation from your phone and the mobile numbers that you are having issues with and start a new conversation. If the old conversation was originated with iMessage then the issue will not be resolved until the entire thread is deleted on both devices. While this can be tedious, depending on how many iPhone users you know, this is a major step in getting this resolved. Once you have done so then please keep us posted.
Thank you...

If you have cell service with a text plan, yes.

  • Some text messages not received or are empty

Some text messages not received or are empty, I have been using the Verizon app because I like it but I have also seen issues with Textra. Basically some messages have been empty but last night I sent a text to someone and it sent and delivered and the person never got it. I have wifi enabled at home which was where it happened and I do use a network extender due to the weak coverage but I have a great signal with it and voice was clear last night since I received a call, is anyone else having issues?
I am using Nova Launcher which shouldn't matter. Everything else works great and I love the phone.
    Thanks

I, too, have been having many problems with not receiving text messages.  I have been dealing with this crap for 6 weeks now!!  I don't receive texts from various people, and it is very sporadic.  It shows in their sent box, but NEVER shows up in my inbox.  I have talked to about 8 different reps from VW and they keep coming up with excuses.  We have tried EVERYTHING!  They have even sent me a different phone and I am still having this problem.  I just got off the phone (again!) with them and they are sending me ANOTHER phone.  I have asked to get out of my contract with no ETF, but, of course, they won't allow that to happen.  They keep telling me that I "have to work with them"!!  Like I haven't given them several chances already!  My job is in jeopardy because my boss texted me something; I never received it; and he was NOT happy!!  He told me to "get the problem fixed"...I don't feel VW is living up to their end of the contract and I feel like I am paying a lot of money every month for an unreliable service.  I am pursuing reporting this to the FCC.  Needless to say, I got very angry with the last 2 people I have spoken with at VW and used some colorful language!  Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do next (before I lose my job!!)!!

  • Text messages not received after iPhone restore

My phone screen broke (iphone 5) and I had my phone off for the majority of the day until I bought a new phone later that night. My question is, when I restored my new iPhone 6 to a 2 day old back-up during the setup process, I was expecting to see what messages (text & iMessage) I received during the day on my iPhone 5, but none of the text messages showed up on my new iPhone 6 after the restore. Is there anyway of receiving the text messages sent to me before I restored to the new iPhone?

You only get data back that was included in your backup.

  • Text messages not received

    Greetings all,
    Just had an odd experience.
I was in the same room as a colleague. Both of us had iPhones.
She texted me: the text never arrived.
We checked that she had my number right: she did.
I then texted her and — bing! — my text arrived on her iPhone.
Texted her again — bing! — no problem.
She texted me from the same "account" beneath the two texts that I'd sent her.
    Nothing.
Any thoughts how we might re-establish two-way communications?
    Thanks!
    Cat

    Something is wrong w ith her sending iMessages;
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755 (Firstly) if this doesn't work resetting network settings and trying again can help
Ensure that iMessage is turned on in Settings > Messages.
To send and receive iMessages, your device must have a valid cellular or Wi-Fi data connection.
    iPhone: Troubleshooting Cellular data
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
iMessage registration validates your Apple ID for use with iMessage. If you are unable to activate iMessage, follow this article.
If an iMessage cannot be sent, it will be resent using SMS or MMS, depending on the content. You can turn this behavior on or off in Settings > Messages > Send As SMS. Carrier messaging rates may apply.
Verify that the Apple ID or phone number is listed in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
Note: To receive iMessages sent to your phone number on your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, you must meet the following requirements:
iPad or iPod touch using iOS 6 or a Mac using OS X 10.8.2.
Verify that you are signed in to your Apple ID account on Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

    Hi,
Just curious, was the problem the OP described a general problem with a general fix or was it a specific fix that was done to the OP's account?

  • Is there a way in which you can deliver messages only through iMessages and not text messages .  If the other iphone user has switched off the data services then the message gets delivered when the user switches on the data services.

I want messages to be delivered to the other person only through iMessages . Is there a way to disable text messages being sent to the other iphone .

In message settings, disable the send as SMS setting. That does mean any message sent to a non-iMessage enabled device will just not get sent.

  • ALLY Text Messages not received

I've sent text messages successfully most times.  However, lately, people aren't receiving them (even though it shows they were successfully sent) or are receiving them inconsistently. Why might this be happening? How can I tell if they really went through?

Try doing a soft reset on the device by powering the device off , then removing the battery about 1 minute, then powering the device back on and dialing *228 send and option 2.
You can set delivery reports in message settings.
Delivery Receipt (also known as Delivery Acknowledgement, Delivery Report, or DAK) provides an indicator flag on sent messages notifying a user that a particular message has been successfully delivered to the recipient’s device. It is typically available on Mobile to Mobile (i.e., VZW-to-VZW) text (SMS) messages and on most picture / video (MMS) messages.
In messages, press the menu key.

phone to receive delivery reports for the messages you send.
    Multimedia message (MMS) settings

  • Messages not sending to non iphone users

I used to be able to run ALL of my messages through the message program on my macbook - including SMS messages. I upgraded from iPhone 5 16gb to iPhone 6 64gb yesterday and I can no longer run SMS messages from my macbook pro. Is there a way for me to fix this issue?

    Hi,
On the iPhone Turn Off the text Forwarding then turn it On again and then use the new Code number the Mac should show you.
    Basically reset it.
You may need to try different lengths of time before you turn it On again to prompt the Mac to deliver the Code number.

  • Switched to android and not receiving txts from iPhone users

    Hello,
I recently switched from an iPhone 4 to an android.  I am not able to recieve texts from iPhone users who upgraded to the new IOS.  I have deleted my phone number from Apple ID.  I do not have my iPhone anymore.  I can't ask all my clients to delete my number and add me again or anything like that.  I need to do it on my end.  Any suggestions?

    1. Change the password of your Apple ID at appleid.apple.com
    2. Go to https://supportprofile.apple.com , log in with your Apple ID, then remove the iPhone from your support profile.
    3. Borrow another iOS device; log into iMessage with your Apple ID, then log out of iMessage.

  • My iPhone 5 with latest version of iOS 6 won't receive some text messages (not iMessages)

My IPhone 5 with latest version of ios 6 won't receive some text messages. All text messages not received are from different people on the same carrier (not mine). Some messages come through if they repeatedly send them. I have tried resetting network settings. This fixes the issue for 10 minutes or so before I don't receive the messages again. I dont have iMessage on and I've tried a restore.

    Hi,
    I had the same issue.
After resetting the network settings everything works fine again.
YouTube App and the videos you posted above didn't play.
    After resetting, they are playable.
    Try it out.
    Best regards,
    Tolga

Both of yall need to go to settings, meassages, send and recieve, scroll down to start new conversation from, and make sure you have different email addresses with a check mark beside it. Right now sounds like they are the same email addresses.

We want to make sure all of your messages show up for you! What issues are you having with them? Do they come to the phone at all? Is it only messages from certain people having issues or all?
