  • ACS Certificate installation problem. Please Help !!!

    hello,
    I have following configuration:
Catalyst 2950G-proximity switches with IOS 12.1(19)EA1c.
    Cisco Secure ACS Appliance 3.2.3.11
SunONE Directory Server ldap server version 5.2_Patch_2
I am trying to setup 802.1x authentication for wired and wireless (aironet) clients, with VLAN parameter provided by using group mapping with ldap groups.
I understand that the best for that will be EAP-GTC version of PEAP.
I tried (for a week now!!!) to install the certificate in order to activate PEAP on ACS.
I carefully read and re-read following documents:
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_soft/csacsapp/csapp32/user/sau.htm
    and this one
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/secursw/ps5338/products_configuration_example09186a008020a45c.shtml
I setup three times a CA using "Microsoft Certificate Services" and OpenSSL. I am positive that I’ve done it correctly since each time CA certificate installation worked and each time I found the the CA in the "Certificate Trust List"
The procedure to install the certificate:
    1. Install the CA certificate on ACS server (through ftp)
    2. Create the Certificate Signing Request and paste in Notepad to make the private key file
    3. Paste the Certificate Signing Request into the "base64 encoded PKCS#10..."
    4. Get the Server Certificate after issuing and put along with private key file on the ftp server.
When trying to install I get that
    "Unsupported private key file format."
    message.
The private key file IS the Certificate Signing Request past-ed in a file, Isn’t it?!?
I have done that many times. I tried many names and extensions for files. I tried to overcome the UNIX and DOS representation for CR and LF in text files.
Each time the same error message.
same problem like in this thread:
    http://forums.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.1dd61919
    Everybody, please help, !!!!

The private key file is a separate file that gets generated by ACS when you create your CSR. I am not sure where the default directory is that it gets stored. You should be able to specify a maximum path for the location that the private key file gets created. Then when you go to import the issued certificate to ACS, you will also need to go back and tell ACS where this private key file is so that it be used.

  • Godaddy SSL certificate installation problems - intermediate certificate not being recognized

    domain = mail.gottfried.org
Installed both the certificate and the intermediate certificate from godaddy (used the 10.6 mac os x version)
    Response from:
    http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=mail.gottfried.org
The certificate is not trusted in all web browsers. You may need to install an Intermediate/chain certificate to link it to a trusted root certificate. Learn more about this error. You can fix this by following GoDaddy's Certificate Installation Instructions for your server platform. Pay attention to the parts about Intermediate certificates.
    When I check in 0000_any_443_.conf
    I see:
    SSLCertificateFile "/etc/certificates/mail.gottfried.org.1E5F3C903B64E78E3241929B16F616D1DDD130FE. cert.pem
    SSLCertificateKeyFile "/etc/certificates/mail.gottfried.org.1E5F3C903B64E78E3241929B16F616D1DDD130FE. key.pem
    SSLCertificateChainFile "/etc/certificates/mail.gottfried.org.1E5F3C903B64E78E3241929B16F616D1DDD130FE. chain.pem
I am assuming that the intermediate certificate should be:
    mail.gottfried.org.1E5F3C903B64E78E3241929B16F616D1DDD130FE.chain.pem
When I look at that certicate it is the same as
    mail.gottfried.org.1E5F3C903B64E78E3241929B16F616D1DDD130FE.cert.pem
When I check keychain and exported both the mail.gottfried.org certificate and also the starfield secure certification authority they match what was installed initially (what I downloaded from Godaddy).
It looks like in the install process the intermediate certificate is not being linked to the ssl certificate and that the ssl certificate is being used for the chain.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
I have talked to both Godaddy and Apple Enterprise support. Godaddy has nothing past 10.6 instruction wise (though the support person really tried to help). The Apple rep couldnt really help and if I really want help from them I need to talk to integration where costs start at $700....
Anyone have an SSL provider that worked properly with 10.8  or has really good support for mountain lion server?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks!

While you still can, get a refund for the certificate, and get a certificate from somebody else, and preferably one that doesn't need an intermediate?  That'll be the easiest.
If you're not doing ecommerce or otherwise dealing with web browsers and remote clients that you don't have some control over or affiliation with, you can use a private certificate and get equivalent (or arguably better) security.  Running your own certificate authority does mean you'll learn more about certificates, though.
Here and here are general descriptions of getting certificates and intermediate certificates loaded, and some troubleshooting here and particularly here (TN2232).  I have found exiting Keychain Access to be a necessary step on various versions.  It shouldn't be, but...
FWIW and depending on your particular DNS setup and whether you're serving multiple web sites, you'll need a multiple-domain certificate.
Full disclosure: I've chased a few of these cases around for customers, and it can take an hour or three to sort out what the particular vendor of math, err, certificates has implemented, to confirm the particular certificate formats and possibly convert the certificates where necessary, and to generally to sort out the various posted directions and confusions.  (I'm not particularly fond of any of the major math, err, certificate vendors, either.)

  • SSL Certificate- installation problems - uydo

Your "Step 1" sounds fine. You don't need to convert the key from .der
(AFAIK). So no "Step2" ! The Server Certificate Chain File Name is a
bit of a strange one. As far as I can tell, its just more or less
means that your actual server certificate (purchased from cert
provider - Verisign say) is actually from Verisign.
    I got it by:
Go to the Verisign site (verisign.com)
    Click on gold rosette
"Verisign secure site - click to verify" to see their certification
    details.
Then d-click on the gold padlock at bottom of this window to see
    certificate information
    Then click details tab
Then click copy to file button - to save off what is the '1024 bit'
root certificate. Use this .cer file as it is as the Server
    Certificate chain file.
If you need the 512 bit root cert, then simply browse to find a site
that's using that level of encryption with a verisign certificate.
I had purchased a certificate, so it wasn't a trial one, so it may be
that you need a different root certificate from mine.
If that is the case, I suppose you might have to contact Verisign
    again
Re step 4 I'm using 6.1, but I didn't need to do that, but If you
think you do I would put the rootcert for that.

    Hi Jon,
Thank you very much for your explain. Although I followed your steps,I still got
the same error. Maybe, I'll ask Verisign, because BEA is no help at all.
    Thanks again,

  • User certificate installation failed

    Hi,
I am trying to import a certificate issued by a certificate authority but it returns the following error:
    User certificate installation failed.
    Possible errors:
    - Input was not a valid certificate
    - No matching certificate request was found
    - CA certificate needed for certificate chain not found. Please install it first
    - User certificate already installed in wallet.
By using Oracle Wallet Manager i did the following steps:
    - Created a new wallet.
    - Submit the certificate created to Certificate Authority (CA) by export certificate request. (test.csr file in location E:\oracle\)
    - Saved the wallet in location E:\oracle\
    - On importing user certificate file ca.crt got the above mentioned errors.
What could be the possible solution for it?
Your help and advise will be really highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Syed.

Problem got resolved by importing the certificate under trusted certificate section.
    Thanks to all.

  • Certificate Installation Error on E90? for Themes ...

If you are trying to install any application or themes do you get Certificate Installation Error?
If you are having trouble installing themes or applications on your E90 or any other Nokia 3rd series, you will need to do following in order to allow the phone to install it:
    1) Open Application Manager
    2) Choose Options, then Settings
    3) Switch Software installation to "ALL" (not Certified only)
This will allow you to install non-certified applications and so on.
I have installed various themes that are for E61,N73,N95 and so on and they all work no problem, some wallpapers for the internal display may not fit but that can be fixed by re-sizeing the wallpaper to 800*615 which is the best fit.
But not all wallpapers are a problem when installed only a few.
So far out of the 23 themes i have installed only 3 of them i had to re-size the wallpaper.
Hope this has helped. Message Edited by gmc007 on 24-Jul-200704:41 AM

This is precisely the problem I have.  Almost ANY 3rd party software gives a "CERTIFICATE ERROR".  I've done what you've suggested, BUT WITH NO JOY.  I've followed your advice exactly.  Yet, it keeps doing this.  Any ideas?

I've also posted my problems on Lava:

The installation started and it looks quite all right, but when I try to start LabVIEW, the application just sits in the taskbar for about 20 seconds and then just disappears.
     Any ideas?
Is there a way to debug to see what's going on?

    Hi Mike,
Unfortunately, there are no versions of LabVIEW supported on SUSE 12.1 at present. Here's a link to LabVIEW version compatibility with different Linux distributions. I saw from your other forum that you're attempting to install LabVIEW 2009, which is certified for SUSE 11.0 at the latest.

-One of the guys wrote to add "logon rights" to the user ... what does it mean ?
    Please advice,

    Hi sven,
Thank you very much for the quick and direct answer.
The problem was that the user that runs the SQL SERVER service didn't have authorization to retrieve information from active directory.
I've changed the service user, run the sapinst again, and after it succeeded I've returned the previous user.
    Best regards,

  • Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)

First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation  worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",
(Go to my blog to see it with snapshots: Computer Science: Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit))
it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w,  deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
    and
    then
I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)"  from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
    The values I filled for
    1) Global Database Name :  orcl
    2) System Identifier : orcl
    3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
    4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
    5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
    6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
    Username : sys/ as sysdba
Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
After this you are ready to write your first SQL command.

Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

Lightroom 3.2 Installation Problem on Windows 7 64-bit
I can't install Lightroom 3.2 (German) on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
While copying the extracted program files the following error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
I found out that other users had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution.
Perhaps it is a Microsoft .NET Framework related problem. But after installing .NET Framework 4 nothing changed.
Thanks for ideas to solve the problem.

Thanks for your advice, Mr. McLion.
I downloaded the 3.4.1 version and started the installation as administrator. Unfortunately the same error message occured again.
Then I tried to install the 32-bit version (although I prefer a 64-bit program on a 64-bit operating system). A similar error message appeared at the same point of installation progress, but with another combination of numbers and letters in brackets.
