Certificate problem with HTTPS -sites

Hey. Im having a problem on ALL https-starting sites. When i try to in example connect https://addons.mozilla.org/ , i get just this:
http://i.imgur.com/2zPE8.jpg
I have already tried to reboot computer, boot FF without addons, reinstall firefox etc, but the problem still stays. With IE everything seems to work fine, but i would still like to use firefox.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Some firewalls monitor secure (https) connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.<br />
If you have ESET then see:
*[[/questions/790114]]
*ESET setup -> advanced setup -> extend web and email tree -> SSL
*SSL protocol: Do not scan SSL protocol
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
* Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
* Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.

    The "s" in "https" indicates the site is a secure server--usually a site that will require a password.  Connections to secure servers can be blocked by parental controls.  Are you using any parental controls, either through OSX's settings (in System Preferences) or third party parental control software (such as Netnanny)?  If so, check the settings to make sure they will allow the connection.

  • Exchange 2010/Outlook 2010 Security Alert (...there is a problem with the site's security certificate.)

    I've been looking to resolve this issue for a while now and was hoping someone could help me understand my options.
    We have Exchange 2010 & Outlook 2010 in our environment. I've created a SSL cert for our ActiveSync from a reputable CA and unfortunately, as you may not be surprised, we are seeing an alert each time we open Outlook that states:
    "Security Alert; Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However, there is a problem with the site's security certificate.
    The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site."
    Of course my internal server name does not match my external server name. So the SSL I had created for use with OWA and ActiveSync is rejected by my internal Outlook clients.
    After doing some research I believe this is related to the Autodiscover service being configured with my internal server name and not my external name.
    I've found some info about adding New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory and Set-ClientAccessServer commands and then found this article that might help.  (Configure
    Outlook Anywhere to Use Multiple SSL Certificates) but nothing is specific to my configuration and I'm concerned about what will happen to my existing configuration if this fails.
    What happens when you run Set-ClientAccessServer? Does it retain and keep the old server config in place and add a new one or does it wipe it out? Will all of my devices need to be reconfigured?
    Same with New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory.  Does this simply add another virtual directory or is it going to overwrite my existing config?
    Then there is the question of whether or not any of this will actually address my issue at all.

    Sorry.
    "[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Set-ClientAccessServer -Identity MailExt -AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri "https://MailExt
    .contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml"
    The operation couldn't be performed because object 'MailExt' couldn't be found on 'DomainController2.contoso.local'.
        + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [Set-ClientAccessServer], ManagementObjectNotFoundException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 4D980455,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.SetClientAccessServer"...is the error I get.
    I've created the split zones and populated the Forward Lookup Zones as follows:
    CONTOSO.COM
    MailExt(CNAME)MailInt.contoso.local
    _tcp _autodiscover(SRV)MailExt.contoso.com
    CONTOSO.LOCAL
    MailInt(A)192.168.1.10
    MailExt(CNAME)MailInt.contoso.com
    One thing I did notice is that there isn't a _tcp _autodiscover entry for MailInt in my Forward Lookup Zones.  It was recommended that I make that entry for _tcp _autodiscover(SRV)MailExt.contoso.com in another post I read somewhere.
    I believe what I am trying to do is create a new autodiscover object as is shown here:
    I see there is a Get-ClientAccessServer & Set-ClientAccessServer command but I need to add a CAS. Does the Set-ClientAccessServer add or simply modify?
    Or would that require the New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory command? I read
    this page that discussed creating new virtual directories but that seemed a little risky without knowing all the ins and outs of how this service functions and to what degree this would affect the existing configuration.
    I was able to use the Set-ClientAccessServer command and change the actual internal autodiscoverUri to https://MailExt.contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml but the name still says MailInt and I continue to get the SSL cert warnings because it is looking
    at MailInt.contoso.local.

  • Problem with creating site from another computer!

    Hi
    I have WebDB 2.2 and Oracle8i instaled on the same computer. I have a problem to create site from another computer. There is not any process when I try to create site. There is always 0%.
    But I have no problem with creating site on the origin computer.
    Does anybody know something about it?

    I am just not clear what to do once I have made changes and have published the new information.
    You shouldn't have to do anything. iWeb will save the information in the Domain.sites file. You can keep this file in a folder, or even on your desktop and iWeb will launch from a double-click on the file.

  • How to install and use a client certificate for use with https sites on Android?

    I need to be able to install a .p12 client side certificate to be sent to the admin section of my company's site to authenticate me as an employee. In FireFox for PC there is the ability to install this client certificate. In the mobile I cannot figure out how to get this to work.
    I just bought an Asus Transformer Android Tablet running Honeycomb. I have tried the following method below:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/786035
    I get to the screen where I am able to present and choose a certificate but I still get the (Error code: ssl_error_handshake_failure_alert).
    Now that Android is really picking up steam, there needs to be a way to install client side certificates to present to sites requesting them.
    Is there another way to hack the system to allow or install a client side certificate in .p12 format?

    Sorry, there's not a good way to install client certificates in Firefox 4 for Android. A bug has been filed, and any work that we do on adding this feature will be tracked here:

  • Problem with https

    I used Firefox for a long time with no problems. I never played with the internal settings (from about:config). One day, with version 21, I found out that every time I do a image search in Google, I could see only 15 to 20 pics correctly and all the others appeared as grey boxes. I deleted cookies and cache but nothing changed. I tried to find a solution and in a Mozilla’s forum was said to reset Firefox from “Troubleshooting Information” menu. I did it and the problem disappeared. Then, another, worse problem, appeared. All sites were tried to get opened with https in front and in all cases Firefox was telling me that the connection is untrusted and can’t confirm that my connection is secure. I was selecting “I understand the risks” and the site was appeared but it was altered, it hadn’t the look that it should have. I did a google search to find a solution. Nothing really helpful came up. In your forum I found a setting, “browser.urlbar.autoFill” that should be turned to false. I did it and the problem was fixed is some pages. Now I can open google and some other pages with no problem but some others, like yahoo mail, that require secure connection (https) cannot get accessed. I tried to uninstall Firefox using Revo Uninstaller, to be sure that all data will be deleted. I reinstalled Firefox but the problem still exists. I uninstalled Firefox again and downloaded and installed version 22 beta 3 of Firefox with the same luck. So, what’s wrong? What should I do?

    Check out why the site is untrusted (click "Technical Details to expand that section) and if this is caused by a missing intermediate certificate then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
    You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
    *Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
    Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
    *Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.
    You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
    If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
    Some firewalls monitor secure (https) connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
    *ESET setup -> advanced setup -> extend web and email tree -> SSL

  • A few problems with my site I'd be grateful for help with...

    Hi, I'm encountering some strange problems with my website, and I'd be really appreciative if anyone could help me. The site's live so I've included links to help anyone kind enough to respond. Thanks in advance.
    1. On many of the pages, a scrollbar appears at the width of the container as opposed to the browser window. The 'clear' property doesn't seem to work, (although I am quite new to it so could have made some sort of basic error).
    http://austinlindsay.com/suretowin.html
    2. I'm having difficulty with the 'screenshots' on the left hand side of the page. First, the larger images should only appear when hovering over the thumbnails, but they seem to appear when hovering over the space where they appear.
    The second problem is trying to make the background of the larger images consistent with their individual images in the foreground. Problem is the background always have a fixed width across the page. You can see what I mean when hovering over the final screenshot (called 'Scoreboard')
    http://austinlindsay.com/virtuoso.html
    Two problems with the 'Featured' section. The central link jilts slightly when hovered over. It's really strange. I've tested it by changing the order and putting a different link in the centre, and found it's not a problem with a link, it's a problem with it being positioned centrally. I couldn't find a solution for it, though. The final problem with this is that a horizontal scrollbar appear when hovering over any of the links (apart from the final one, Logos, for some reason).
    http://austinlindsay.com/
    I know there's a lot of problems here, but thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

    No, there is definitely no height property on the container (or the content which is causing the problem). But to be fair,  it may be because the content that gets hidden is, until hovered over, not visible. I've posted the code for that below, along with the container if anyone could help?
    /*main container*/
    #content {
        position: relative;
        left: 0px; right: 0px;

    /* container for the screenshots content below this*/
    #main_content {

    margin: 0 40px;
    top: -160px;
    /* screenshots - content that seems hides itself*/

    top: 0px;
    /**optional image captions**/
    font-size: 13px;
    line-height: 1.2;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    text-align: left;
    background-color: #455c5a;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    /**optional image borders & padding**/
    border: 2px solid#455c5a;
    padding: 15px;

    Hi thanks for reply.
    No, not that I'm aware. How/Where can I check this?
    The only think I've done recently is install a different antivirus program and uninstall the old one which had expired. Not sure if this is linked to the problem...?

  • Problem with HTTP load balancing

    Hello Experts
    I have a problem when i do loadbalancing for links like http://1.1.1.1/site/home where 1.1.1.1 is the VIP address (i got http not found), while it is working fine when the link is http://1.1.1.1,
    the link is working fine on the real servers for example when i try http://2.2.2.2/site/home it works
    by the way, im not doing URL loadbalancing,
    any ideas
    Thank you in advance

    It is generally good idea for this type of cases to get a sniffer trace (in ACE module span 10G backplane interface from supervisor or if ACE appliance take parallel span session of client and server vlan).
    This case was investigated in TAC SR and this is a small summary of the traces that may help other users hitting this issue (usually it is good idea to filter by http and client IP) :
    This is what we have seen for the non-working scenario.
    Packet 1: Client sends HTTP GET to ACE VIP
    Packet 2: ACE forwards HTTP GET to RSERVER
    Packet 3: RSERVER answers ACE with HTTP 404
    Packet 4: ACE forwards the real server response (HTTP 404) to the client
    ACE was not changing anything in the packets that were being loadbalanced. And the HTTP 404 error sent from the server that ACE was forwarding indicates that the Web server thinks that the HTTP data stream sent by the client was correct, but simply can not provide the access to the resource specifief by URL.
    Bottom line it was found that in this case the server behaves in a different way based on the hostname used to connect to the application, and this should be addressed on the application/server side. An easy way to check this is by using the server name pointing to the vip in local client hostfile.

  • Safari display problems in https sites

    I have some problems when trying to reach HTTPS sites with Safari (under Mountain Lion). I only get text display and no rendering of images. I works perfectly well with FireFox. Have the same behavior with Mac App Store which only displays text. and doesn't present the pages correctly. I tried to reset Safari and no success; check KeyChain, no success. Anyone has an idea to get this solved. Thanks

    after many attempts, I resolved the problem finaly by reinstalling mountain lion (CMD R after the chime and reinstall option in the menu).

  • Problems with http header "Content-Location"

    Does anyone know how to override the
    "Content-Location" http header. We are having issues with search engines and this header being returned from Apache/oc4j. In a nutshell, I have a site that uses the
    Struts framework, where the actual urls submitted would be for example
    (http://mysite/home.do), where ".do" is just a servlet mapping. When we have
    tried to follow the one link that has been spidered, it actually contains
    the full path that appears in the "Content-Location" header (i.e.
    http://mysite/web-inf/jsps/bogus.jsp) which in this case can't even be
    accessed. The feedback we get from third-party utilities that try to spider
    the site is that it is stopping because it has already indexed "bogus.jsp",
    which in reality will always appear since it is a template, where the actual
    urls will be different as is above.
    Because the "Content-Location" header is being returned to any
    client hitting the site, search engine spiders stop indexing at the first page because the value in "Content-Location" is the same.
    Solutions tried:
    mod_headers in Apache - have tried "Header unset"
    HttpServletResponse.setHeader()
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi there,
    i'm having a similar problem to this when trying to run some web page speed optimisation software...
    i think the issue also causes problems with the Opera browser (although this may have been fixed in the latest version).
    anybody any ideas how to stop the header being sent in the response?
    many thanks,

  • Cache problem with one site

    I have a problem with not getting the latest version of a page on one site (that I am aware of).
    I can get the latest version of http://www.thefa.com/thefacup/more/competition-bulletins on IE but Firefox gives me a page that hasn't been updated. Attached file 1 shows the Firefox cache entry, file 2 shows the page displayed on FF and file 3 shows the page on IE.
    This has been a problem with that page since I started using FF over a year ago.
    The only way to get the latest version is to "reload the current page" which is not a major problem but is annoying.
    Is this likely to be happening with other pages that are not so obvious or is it some incompatibility between that page and FF?

    I disabled cookies and deleted the existing ones for this site but it didn't make any difference - I didn't expect it to.
    I didn't try "forgetting" the site as my understanding is that this just clears the cache and cookies at that time but it doesn't stop them being saved again.
    Is there a way of not caching a specific site? If not, I'll just continue to "reload the current page" when I need to.
