Certificates and Apache Web Server

Hello, I'm using Apache 2 as reverse proxy:
client --SSL---> reverse proxy (apache) - SLL-->other servers
The Client certificate is used by reverse proxy for access to my other
server, but now I have a big problem. One of my servers need a client
certificate to authenticate the client and access, but this
certificate is load in apache (my reverse proxy) and I don't know how
pass this certificate to this server and access to the other server,
and authenticate the client in the "other" server.
Is it possible?

Apache web server/jakarta tomcat

Hey guys!
here's the fact, i installed jakarta-tomcat and apache web server, but i don't know how to integrate them, i mean, I just want to have one http server with the functionality to use servlets. Do I need only jakarta tomcat to have this?, please help me.

Check the file mod_jk.dll in the folder %APACHE_HOME%/modules/. Howevere there are different libraries for different versions of Apache Web Aerver and Tomcat.

How to integrate Apache Web Server and Apache Tomcat 4.0 ?

The way to integrate Apache Web Server & Apache is very easy. The first step is download the library to connect both servers. This library can be download from http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-4.0/release/v4.0/bin/webapp-module-1.0-tc40-windows.zip.
Copy the files to APACHE_HOME\modules and open httpd.conf to change any lines:
You find the section "LoadModule" and you add the next lines:
LoadModule webapp_module modules/mod_webapp.so
AddModule mod_webapp.c
And the end of the file you must add these lines:
WebAppConnection conexion warp localhost:8008
WebAppDeploy examples conexion /examples
The first parameter -2nd line- (examples) is the URL name application, the second is the connection's name and the last parameter is the application's name. This name is the same which in servlet.xml.
At last you can add one more lines to check the module's configuration:
WebAppInfo /webapp-info
If you visit http://<yoor_host>/webapp-info you can see the configuration.

Install Apach web server and Tomcat

Is it possible to install Apach web server and Tomcat into Oracle Application Server?
If possible, which way is the best? People said that I would better install Apach web server and Tomcat in Redhat.
If you know the answer, would you mind give me the answer or document link?

Tomcat is just a servlet engine. Oracle Application Server already includes a servlet engine. Apache is a default component too.

Integrating Apache Web Server and Tomcat

Hi,
how do i integrate Apache Web Server (version 2.0) with Tomcat 5, on 2 different machines physically?
I have managed to integrate them on the same machine. Now, I need to separate the 2 into 2 different servers.

Sun's AS is built on top of Tomcat and it's free in production (Platform Edition). The Standard Edition provides integration with an Apache HTTP server via a plugin.

Ahora he estado muy ocupado con un proyecto urgente, si tengo alg�n tiempo libre la semana entrante tratar� de probar tu combinaci�n (no te prometo nada) pero para ello necesito que me digas las versiones que est�s usando de Apache Web Server y de Tomcat, como est�s enlazando entre ambos con un m�dulo o con ProxyPass y mejor si me mandas el httpd.conf.

SSL certificate unconfigured, but web server still defaults to https

I set up my web page as indicated in the Lion Server: Advanced Administration manual (Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default). I originally had a self-certified ssl certificate set up for all services, and the web server defaulted to port 443 with the following page:
Index of /
Apache/2.2.19 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.19 OpenSSL/0.9.8r DAV/2 PHP/5.3.6 with Suhosin-Patch Server at *****.com Port 443
I removed the ssl certificate, but it keeps going to the same page. I have default.html and index.html files in the directory, and I figure at least one of those should. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not offended by your suggestion that it's something simple that I've overlooked, rather I'm hoping that it is.
I have selected the certificate on the appropriate site on the web panel. When you visit the site link In my original message, you'll see that the correct certificate is being served, but it appears as expired to the browser, even though it shows as valid in Server Admin.
I also found it in the Keychain utility, and it also shows as a valid certifcate there. I did find an entry in the Keychain utility for an earlier attempt at installing an expired certificate, so I deleted that entry.

Unable to access Workspace through Apache web server

I am getting the following error message when trying to access Workspace through Apache web server(port 19000). But, able to access through Weblogic Application server(port 45000).
please assist me in resolving this issue.

I re-configured the BIPlus components and even now, i am unable to access workspace through Apache web server.
But now, i am getting a different error

I’m having trouble running the Apache and ColdFusion services after connecting the two with wsconfig. I’ve tried replacing the 64-bit mod_jrun22.so with the 32-bit equivalent and the Apache service will then start, but the ColdFusion services error when loading the jvm.dll.
Anyone familiar with this?

Using the web connector, I get an error message that the mod_jrun22.so is not a valid win32 application.

How do I get Apache web server working ...

How do I get Apache web server working on my MacBook Pro, which is running Leopard 10.5.8?
When I enter 'http://localhost/~username/' (without the quote marks) as a URL in my Firefox browser on the MacBook, I do not see any result at all(!). I do have Web Sharing on in System Preferences on that machine. But the browser does nothing whatever for that URL ...
On my other computer, an iMac running Leopard 10.5.8, when I enter 'http://localhost/~username/' I see the default "Your Website Here" page. That same default page is in fact the index.html file I expect to see on the MacBook Pro. But it isn't getting invoked for some reason. Nothing is happening ...
When on the iMac I try 'http://10.0.1.18/~username/' (10.0.1.18 is the local IP address I see under 'Web Sharing: On' on the MacBook) I get "Unable to connect: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 10.0.1.18."
When on the MacBook I try 'http://10.0.1.5/~username/' (10.0.1.5 is the local IP address I see under 'Web Sharing: On' on the MacBook) I see the default "Your Website Here" page.
It is the same on my iPhone: Using the same local IP addresses and usernames, Safari can see the index.html page on my iMac but not on my MacBook.
It looks as if Apache is not working on the MacBook, while on the iMac it works fine.
On the MacBook I can see (after I use 'defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE' in Terminal) a /private/etc/apache2/ directory with what look to be(?) the usual contents. So it looks like Apache is duly installed, as far as I can tell.
On the MacBook I don't see a file at /private/var/log/apache2/error_log, which is the location for 'ErrorLog' given in the httpd.conf file.
That about exhausts my understanding of how to get a handle on my problem.
Any advice or suggestions from those who have more expertise with Apache will be much appreciated ...

Okai, so we are getting somewhere, but not quit there yet :-)
I opened the Kenneth.conf file using the command: vi Kenneth.conf
This is what it said:

AllowOverride AuthConfig Limit

"Kenneth.conf" [readonly] 6L, 139C
I therefore changed the AllowOverride from AuthConfig Limit to None, which was the only difference from what you posted above. Something did change, when I tried to open XAMPP it prompted me a password, but Apache still wont start :-/

How to save uploaded image file to Apache Web Server from Tomcat

Hi guys,
Perhaps this is not an appropriate topic to ask under this forum but I really don't know where should I post my question. Hope you understand.
Ok, I need to know if my web application is running in Tomcat5 and user uploading some image file where I need to save these image files to the other server, which is running Apache Web Server. Should I ftp to there or other better method ?
Anyone got a better idea on doing this kind of process pls advice. Many Thanks !

if your Apache server is running in the same computer and if your servlet have write access to the folder in apache under which you want to save the file you can just write the file there but you will have to address concurrency issues.
Otherwise you will have to do ftp but since apache does not have abuilt in frp server you will need a seperate FTP server for this

Apache Web Server for Content Server 6.4

I have installed the SAP Content Server 6.4 with a SAP DB instance (MaxDB 7.6.0) on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (32bit-Version). I've also installed Apache Web Server 2.0.49 via yast.
When i am trying to access the server through csadmin in the Knowledge Warehouse, i get the following error message:
Error in HTTP-Access: IF_HTTP_CLIENT->RECEIVE 1
ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED
The Content Server's database is online and the Apache is running, but when i prompt the command
apache2ctl fullstatus (or apache2ctl status, respectively)
it says:
Object not found!

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Hi. Did you figure this out ? I have the same error and the only difference is I am using apache on Solaris. I found the file /sapcs/apache/2.0.59/logs/error_log. From some trial and error, it looks like in the home dir of apache is in /sapcs/apache/2.0.59/htdocs but in csadmin the field 'http script' doesn't like relative addressing. ( I put in ../modules/mod_sapcs.so ) and it still didn't like it. I ended up creating a softlink in htdocs that point back to the modules directory. Now I get other issues ( can't create the content repository from csadmin - get http: 405 method not allowed ).

How to Configure Apache Web Server with Tomcat web container in Linux

The simple answer is to download a web server that has a web container already integrated on it, so all that painful configuration work is avoided.
You can use the mature SJS Web Server 6.1 SP5 at

Issue with permissions to upload files into Apache web server to OS 10.8.2

Hello everyone;
I setted up Apache web server and mysql to OS 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. It's working fine except for the permissions. I can't upload files into the web site directory. Doesn't recognize, e.g., the PHP function "move_uploaded".
One problem for my is that I can't modify the permissions by "Terminal" app since it telling me that the "Process completed" and I can't write any script.
Any suggestion will be welcome.

My only question now would be how to speed up Safari's 6.0.1 performance in 10.8.2 or do I just accept that it's a little slower than it was, which is fine. Are other folks having this issue?
I was primarily passing along info about my particular download speed and for the Web Confidential 3.8 people: make a backup of your passwords b4 installing 10.8.2 or be prepared to upgrade.
