Certification OCP 11g questions & answer (1z0-053)

Hi all,
Soon I want to do OCP 11g (1z0-053) exam and I wonder if anyone has questions regarding this exam to practice.
Thanks a lot.

Do You know some free question???You were being gently advised to be careful of using free questions. The reasons you were told to be careful are described on that page. Those reasons, copied for your convenience are:
You can lose your Certifications
You can be banned from taking any other exams
You will not benefit from their use
You will be caught if you use braindumps, it's only a matter of time
Braindumps are a clear violation of the certification Non-Disclosure Agreement
Braindumps hinder your ability to learn the material
If you have the exam questions ahead of time, you'll be less motivated to learn the material
The information is shoddy, at best, and cannot be trusted
The information is often old and out of date
The claim "actual exam questions" is rarely true
The information provided in braindumps is only the information that could be remembered
If you've ever searched out or asked for braindumps, there are records of it
If you've ever passed dumps on to others, there are records of it
The sources that the dumps are derived from are inconsistent
Braindumps do not teach you how to solve the problems that are normally seen in the IT Field
Braindumps hurt everyone around you
Braindumps devalue the Certifications that knowledgeable IT Professionals have studied so hard to attain.

  • Differences between 1Z0-042, 1Z0-043 1Z0-052 and 1Z0-053 and 11g OCP

    Hi All
    I have a small dilemma
For Christmas I was given a copy of OCA/OCP Oracle Database 11g All-in-One Exam Guide with CD-ROM: Exams 1Z0-051, 1Z0-052, 1Z0-053 (Osborne Oracle Press Series) [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oracle-Database-All-Guide-CD-ROM/dp/0071629181/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1262090730&sr=1-5|http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oracle-Database-All-Guide-CD-ROM/dp/0071629181/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1262090730&sr=1-5]
As you will see in the book title it covers 1Z0-051, 1Z0-052 and 1Z0-053
About a year ago I attended the following courses
    TT - Oracle D/B 10g Program PL/SQL-QA-IQ
    TT - Oracle PL/SQL - GK
TT - Oracle 10g Intro to SQL
I have been meaning to get round to taking my exams and OCA qualification is no problem as I can take 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-052 using the above book and the knowledge I gained on the course (even though the course was 10g).
But my question surrounds 11g OCP and how it requires instructor led training - now I have done my 10g course but I guess this wont count as an instructor led course for 11g OCP.
If not then im going to need to take the route of 1Z0-042, 1Z0-043 to get OCP and 1Z0-050 to upgrade to 11g
So I would ask how safe I would be learning the above mentioned book and taking the 1Z0-042, 1Z0-043 exams. I understand there is no accurate answer as it is subjective but if 1Z0-052 and 1Z0-053 (11g) knowledge covers 1Z0-042 and 1Z0-043 (10g) knowledge then there should be no problem, right?
I really dont want to have to take the book back or purchase another.
    Thanks in advance
    Rob

Think of it as an opporunity
For Christmas I was given .... (Take me to your santa ...)
    .... (snipped)
    Thanks in advance
RobYour'e thinking sensibly about this. Well done. And the hands on course needs to be considered carefully and I often say this can be deciding factor in planning.
IMHO there is at least 80% commonality between the topics for 1z0-042 AND 1Z0-052 .... and probably similar for 1z0-043 and 1z0-053 whoug I've never directly checked this and there may be a greater divergence there.
Be aware some topics in 1z0-050 will not be covered in the books you have as far as I am aware.
One option you have not considered is taking exams in this order ..... this will give you 10g OCP and 11g OCP. This is wha I did .... but it mainly occured that for me way as the 1z0-053 was fairly delayed into production and I wanted the certificates I could have as soon as possilble .... ie 10gDBAOCP and 11gDBAOCA. I actually did the 1z1-053 beta for my 11g DBA OCP ... cheaper than 1z0-050 as I already had 11g DBA OCA.
    1z0-051 1z0-042 1z0-052 1z0-043 1z0-053.
I know you dont want to buy another book, but the 10g ones from Sybex (and associated CDROM's) give a slightly different viewpoint (though they are for 10gR1 and are not updated for 10gR2 topics). IMHO the sybex books can ometimes go a little over the top in some areas. But all these books can contain some errors ... however they do provide an extra set of practice questions. However it is an option for you.
Its worth registering your 10g course as a hands on course as soon as reasonably possible to ensure there are no issues with it (I assume you have attended the course from Oracle University).
Anyway these are my thoughts. But you know your own circumstances and are responsible for your own decisions. Good Luck.

  • 1z0-053 - Doubtful question/answer in Transcender preparation kit

    Hello,
I purchased the exam preparation  kit and I'm confused about a correct answer.
    http://www.transcender.com/practice-exam/oracle/1z0-053.kap
It's in regard to the Flashback Database procedure, it states that we must use STARTUP MOUNT EXCLUSIVE rather thant STARTUP MOUNT.
Going into 11gR2 documentation, it's never stated to do STARTUP MOUNT EXCLUSIVE, but simply STARTUP MOUNT.
Link: Performing Flashback and Database Point-in-Time Recovery
Here is the  screenshot of the exam question and correct answer.
I read at some places that the STARTUP MOUNT EXCLUSIVE is deprecated and the simple STARTUP MOUNT is the way to go unless explicitly stated.
Is my answer is OK? Is the suggested answer OK?
If both valid and I see this kind of dualities in the official exam, should I prefer the simple STARTUP MOUNT rather than the EXCLUSIVE way?
    Thanks
    Bruno

The documentation beats third-party materials every time -- even Kaplan materials, which are generally quite good.
You are extremely unlikely to find an ambivalent question like this in an exam that has been around as long as 1Z0-053.  In beta exams or tests that have recently come out of beta perhaps.  Ones that have been in place for years should have resolved any such problems.

  • Regarding OCP 11g certification?

As per oracle programmer, I passed out 1Z0-052 and 1Z0-052. I got a certificate of OCA. Recently i jut appeared for 1Z0-053 but unfortunately i fail that exam. there is one question  1) Is there any scope to Oracle oca? and is he consider as oracle dba or not ? . Please also give me some tips or suggestions. Then i can find out some better ways. Thanks in advance. Regards omkar

    Hi,
    1) Oracle Database 11g: Administration I | 1Z0-052 -  (Oracle Certified Associate) / You could be a Junior DBA (as said Hemant) . This is the first step in certification and usually involves taking a couple of exams.
    2) OCP is Oracle Certified Professional and needs you to be an OCA, take a few more exams and attend a course at an Oracle university campus.

  • 1z0-053  11G Admin 2 Exam

Wondered if someone could help, I have a few questions about the OCP exam, 1z0-053 11G Admin 2.
I am using the Oracle Press book by Bob Bryla to study for this exam, but the objectives in the book do not match up to the objectives on the Oracle website. For example, in the book Objective 15.2 is named as Working with Database and NLS character sets. But there is no mention of this objective on Oracle's website.
Also, I am thinking of buying the transcender practice tests. Does anyone have any experience of these? Are they worth the money?
Any other tips about taking the exam would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    ok thanks for this.
Does anyone have any transcender experience?
Also, sorry for the vague question but compared to 1z0-052 how much more difficult would you say it was. I passed 1z0-052 fairly comfortably, and I work in app support with apart half my time spent purely on dba work.

  • OCA11g to OCP 11g certification !

I have completed my OCA 11g certification. I would like to go for 11g OCP (i.e. IZO-053)
The constraints for 11g OCP are that candidates must complete one of the instructor-led online or in class courses below
    •     Oracle Database 11g: Data Warehousing Fundamentals
    •     Oracle 11g: RAC and Grid Infrastructure Administration Accelerated Release 2
    •     Oracle Database: Develop PL/SQL Program Units Ed 1
    •     Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop II Ed 2 LVC

    •     Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop I - LVC Release 2
    •     Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop II Release 2
But the real problem is that Oracle Workforce program does not provide the training on any of the 11g courses.
My question is that will it be alright if I take in class training on Oracle Database: Introduction to SQL (i.e. 10g) through Oracle Workforce Program and appear for OCP 11g certification?
    thnx in advance

SatishRightly or wrongly, as far as i know some WDP providers are provding WDP courses at 11g ... this may only be in some countries. (I think WDP only provides Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop I and II), but WDP programme can be a law unto itself). It may be an eligible 11g SQL is now available via WDP ... which might make a mockery of hands on training).
( My understanding back a few years ago at 9i WDP has to complete a complete end-to-end training track .... he width of the training perhapa compensating for possibly more guarenteed quality training from OU.
Anyway to answer your question .... a 10g course will not be acceptable for 11g DBA certification. (However in general most 11g courses should be acceptable for 10g DBA or 9i DBA certification).

  • Simple Question About OCP 11g

    1Z0-053
I'm studying for my OCP exam and since they have updated the system I am afraid I was studying the wrong study guide, I'm watching CBT nuggets OCP and reading the following :
    *   Oracle Database 11g:
        Administration Workshop II
        Volume l. ll and lll
        D50079GC20
        Edition 2.0
        September 2010
is this the proper voucher ? because I do not see RELEASE 2 on the tittle of that guide's workshop, this is the study guide I got from taking the $ 3500 course
    Thanks

The differences between 11G R1 and R2 from the standpoint of the Admin II exam are minimal.  The student guides from that course should provide you with most of what you need. You can/should supplement reading those with studying the documentation and other sources.  Links to many of useful references for that exam can be found here:

  • Can i use "Oracle Database 12c: Performance Management and Tuning " training for getting certification on "Oracle Database 11g: Performance Tuning 1Z0-054"

i have taken "Oracle Database 12c: Performance Management and Tuning new" training from oracle university. Now i would like to get certified on "Oracle Database 11g: Performance Tuning 1Z0-054" exam. Is it possible ?

I essentially endorse and refer you to Matthews' and John's post above.
I would differ with slightly with Matthew because my guess is you would often be able to use like for like 12c training for an 11g certification ( I believe there are precedents).  BEFORE ANYONE ASKS THE OTHER WAY DOESN'T HAPPEN.
.... but totally concur with Matthew you would ill advised to procede on that basis without one of:
    - This being advertised as possible on the website : e.g. https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=654&get_params=p_id:169 ... option 2 show courses.
    - Confirmation from Brandye
    - Confirmation from an Oracle Certification Support Web Ticket ( http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP )
... The more common (and in my opinion usually better) way would be get your 11g DBA OCP ( or higher first) and then take the 1z0-054.  I am almost certain they will accept your 12c course for the 11g DBA OCP.
If you are choosing the route of not being a 11g (or 12c ) DBA OCP first but are on option 2 and relying on the course for certification then the issue is more in the balance and you are even more strongly advised to get confirmation before proceding (remember if the rules need to be changed for you only then any profit out of the exam is lost).
In general my understanding is Oracle would prefer to encourage people to train on the latest version of product that is available for training  and will prefer to avoid restrictions which would cause you to train at a lower version.  ( This is simply my guess at Oracle University Policy ... personal opinion only).
Having said all I have said I'd encourage you to go with the advice of the earlier two posts.

    Hi Dan,
Thanks for your observation, comment and review.
    1. As a matter of fact, since many features of SAP B1 has not changed, just as you asserted, I took cognizance of new enhancements to the solution over the various releases, especially as it relates to the functionalities. By extension however, most questions for prior releases applies to the “successor” release.
Furthermore, there was a mix-up in the download. Ideally, you should have three sections in the book. Section I (release 2004, by extension - 2005 and 2007 releases); Section II (release 2005, by extension - 2007 release) and Section III (release 2007). The document has been reviewed. Hence, everyone that bought the book before 29th of April 2008 should visit my [blog|http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/sap/kehinde/archives/sap-business-one-solution-consultant-ebook-review-notice-24053] on how to get a copy of the revised version within 24 hours at no extra cost. I regret any inconveniences. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS ON THIS FORUM.
    2. On localization, SAP Business One has more than 10,000 installations across the world. The book is not intended to be "localization specific". It is intended to serve as a certification review for functionalities that cuts across board with a mix of localized functionalities. I am sure you found in there a number of localization questions for other countries like UK. My advice for individuals using the book is to identify which questions apply to their localization.
While I await your review of the [revised version|http://www.ebookmall.com/ebook/277772-ebook.htm] as an SAP Business One advisor, I believe you will agree with me that it is an invaluable resource for preparing for the certification exam and also technical interview sessions.
    Thanks

    Couple of Questions
1). Is there any direct upgrade exams for OCP 8.0 to 11g?The definitive source, which you may already have found .... is [http://www.oracle.com/education/certification] - Already Certified - upgrade your Certification.
    ie [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=44]
My reading of the source is not.
2). what learning upgrade path do u suggest for me and why?My understanding if whichever you prefer out of 1) 2) 3) below. Personally I'd avoid (2), but others might reocmmend it.
    1) 1z0-035 + 1z0-055
    2) 1z0-035+1z040+1z0-050
    3) 1z0-052+1z0-053 (Providing you have 1z0-001 or an SQL exam, if you maybe you need that as well). Its worth checking with ocpexam_ww they will accept this before starting on this particular route.
3). Is there any possibility that Oracle can launch Direct upgrade from OCP 8.0 to 11g or etc?In general Oracle Provides upgrade exams for DBA OCP from the previous version and the version before that to the target version.
The possibility therefore seems close to zero.
4). Any additional ref: or special notes?
See {thread:id=992336} .... that person has 8i DBA OCP so does not have to do 1z0-035 but the reasoning is similar.
Also most strongly recommend registering on Certview so ou've got access to your status there:

    Hi,
I am already OCP-PLSQL and want to attempt OCP-DBA stream. I enquired at various oracle education centers and came to know that all are conducting courses for Oracle-10g.
So can I attend Oracle 10g DBA course (Mandatory Course) and attempt DBA Certification for 11g. (1ZO-052 and 1ZO-053)

Vikrant PatilYou can do these thing, and Oracle will take your money for it, but you will receive neither 11g DBA OCP certication nor 10g DBA OCP Certification at the end of it. So it isnt what you would ant to do.
Oracle Unviersity would provide the 11g DBA training courses ... No problem.
however I suspect what you term oracle education centers are probaby institutes offering WDP Courses at 10g DBA (on the cheap). See http://workforce.oracle.com
If you do 10g training then that will only be valid for 10g DBA OCP Certification .. so you would need to take 1z0-042 and 1z0-043 (I guess you already have an SQL Exam pass). Then 1z0-050 can upgrade it to 11g DBA OCP.
(Note that it does not affect you, but the converse is typically true .... version X+1 training will often be acceptable for a version X certification.)

  • 1Z0-053 Course ?

I have passed the 1Z0-053 exam, but I have no course for OCP certification
If I take the course Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Performance Tuning,
    Can I take the OCP?
Then if I pass the 1Z0-054, I can use the same course for Tunning certification ?
    Sry for my english.
    Regards in advance.
    Manuel

The course that you mention is on the list of approved courses that count toward the training requirement for 11g DBA OCP (http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=244#5).
Once you have obtained the 11g DBA OCP certification, you can obtain the Performance Tuning certification by passing the 054 exam - additional training is not required.
