Certified fresher

Hi All,
What is the job scenario of a certified <b>ABAP</b> consultant? i am currently doing my course from Siemens. I have 2 yrs of IT(<b>Java</b>) Experience.What about the interview, will there be questions about<b> ABAP</b> or my past exp. (<b>Java</b>). Do i have a prospect in landing up in a good job as i have already left my job to do the course? <b>Please advice</b>.

As you are looking for a job for an ABAP position, definitely the interviewers should ask questions in ABAP only. They may ask little/minor questions relative to your past experience. So, dont worry about this. Be bold and face the interview with good confidence and spirit. Good Luck......
Job prospects depends on the level of your hardwork/luck in sending your resume or approaching the right person/consultants/company/job sites etc.

    You have to do work hard to get the first job in SAP.
    1. Connect with software companies HR's in Linkedin as they share jobs.
    2. Follow company pages in Linkedin as they post the jobs in their pages.
    3. Follow company pages in Facebook and Twitter as well.
    4. List 50 consulting companies through major job portals and talk to consulting HR 3 to 5 people everyday.
    5. Connect with most of SAP known guys because fresher walk-ins come to employees inbox.
    6. I feel twitter posts are better because when you search in twitter post, it will give exactly email and contact details of job posting.
    You need to strike everywhere as something will click for you.

    i am a abap certified fresher , still now i didnt attand any interview... many of them telling that abap losed its market they suggest me 2 study EP,but i am not expert in java so is it possible 2 manage EP with out expert knolodge in java... i know litttle bit java   as i studided in college........

    dont get disheartened. first get atleast some experience in ABAP. after that you can always shift your domain.
    Dont worry keep applying , see which are the areas where you are stumbling in your interview and go over them again.

    I created an org unit and its sub units and created positions also ..i want to connect the positions  of the parent node and subnode in reporting structure
      O   head unit
              S CEO
              S  GM
          I
          I  O Unit 1
                 S Manager Unit 1
          I
          I  O Unit 2
                 S  Manager Unit 2
    I want to connect the GM with Manager Unit1 and Manager Unit 2  in reporting structure
    Please tell me steps to do this

    If you want Manager unit1 and Manager Unit 2 to report to GM then go to PO13 Select the Manager Unit1 and create relationship infotype with A002 relationship in the related Object type choose S (Position) and in the object id choose GM.
    Similarly do it for the Manager Unit2

    I did my certification in SAP SD from Bangalore by month of October 2012, after that
    i received only one opportunity to attend interview at Capgemini, I cleared my
    interview but unluckily project was canceled and they haven't done any recruitment.
    your view is add on Knowledge, still I am maintaining studying, at least every day 7hrs plus, but problem is, job market or industry not have need of certified person, companies prefer to get 3 years real time exp persons more willingly than certified fresher.
    I had discussed with few of the HR managers, their reply was, in certification course there is no real time project training, it’s just about overall SAP concept, so we prefer 1 or 2 years exp people.
    So my opinion is going for SAP SD certification is useless and money wasting.

    INstead of becoming certified as an HR Consultant, you could have taken a training course in Workflow instead? I am not sure whether they certify anybody as a Workflow consultant though.

    I am a Diploma in PRINTING TECHNOLOGY working in Newspaper Production as Associate engineer. I send my resume to JKT SAP academy Kolkata they told me that I am suitable for SAP PP module. My qualification is just 10+2+Diploma. and working exp- 11 years. My question is
    1) Which SAP Functional module would be good for me?
    2) Is the SAP PP module right option for me?
    3) May I utilize My working exp at the time of applying in other industry after completion of the course?
    4) In which type of sector I can apply?

    I did 3 years regular diploma cource in printing technology approved by AICTE. after passing 10+2. My question is it enough qulification for getting job opportunities.
    As per my knowledge maximum all companies are asking minimum Degree qualification.
    As already suggested, if you want to get into SAP definitely your domain experience supports to either MM or PP module.however, you need to apply for  fresher job in SAP,you need to work for less salary, if you are certified fresher consultant little bit more and job opportunities as well comparatively fresher with out certification,apart from the above you also need to complete your degree simultaneously.
    by considering all please take suggestion accordingly.

    Hi all,
    Am a SAP ABAP certified fresher(dec 2014). Still searching for a job as a trainee or associate position. Meanwhile I need to have a lot of practical knowledge for which i need a platform where i can implement some scenarios. As of before I was using IDES (provided by consolut) for the same.
    Now its not working as of licensing issues.
    Kindly let me know a platform where i can practice sap abap scenarios, so that it would help me to get through interviews!

    You should look for companies/consultancies which hire freshers/interns to work in some support projects with some stripend. This kind of platform is given by some companies, you need to search them.
    Also at this stage you should also be ready to work for free , as you need to get confidence to handle issues/ develop objects practically. Be ready for this if anyone gives this opportunity, money will follow automatically .

  • Testing Career: Is there any SAP career growth???

    Dear SAP Experts,
    I am SAP SD Certified fresher, completed certification in Oct.2013.
    I joined one of the reputed MNC in June 2014.I was happy thinking that I got entry in SAP but soon my happiness converted into sorrowness because after spending 40 days in the company I got testing project.
    In this project my responsibility is to take care testing part.Client is rolling out SAP regionwise and outsourced testing part to my company but there is not much exposure to SAP.
    Now there are numerous questions in my mind:
    1) Shall I continue this role or search a new job(but getting new job would very tough as I am fresher)?
    2) Is this testing project affect my SAP career?
    3) Going forward what are different things I should learn so that I will get good hike after 2 yrs if I continue this role.
    4) Shall I join any institute which will give me insight about support or implementation project so that I can show in next intw(after 2 yrs) even if I worked in testing project i know process of implementation or I know the types of tickets and all other stuff

    Hi Abhijeet,
    This is sad part but I don't want to demotivate you more as this is your first job in SAP career.
    "Which road you take that will lead your growth".  The problem is if you are starting as testing career then you will move on to same testing roles and will not get any SD implementation or support opportunity.  Just ask them, would you able to be part of Support or Implementation project.
    Positive side: Sometimes if your project likes you, then you will move into SAP implementation project down the line, due to increasing demand of skills in your project.  I have seen many people in the past and recently projects recruited as testing guy then moved into functional roles on implementation.
    Testing may be ok in the beginning but do not stay longer because your profile not worthy in future.  Look for better opportunity if they ask you stay more than 6 or 1 year in same testing roles.
    Career Path for Testing - Test Analyst, Senior Test Analyst -> Testing Manager -> Testing Director
    Career Path for Functional Consultant - Functional Consultant -> Senior Functional Consultant -> Functional Lead -> Solution Architect or Project Manager -> Programme Manager

    I'm a SAP ABAP certified fresher , working in MNC as SAP ABAP Consultant  for last four months. I want to learn SAP hana and have career growth in it . I would like to know if doing HANA is a better option for my career growth as all SAP products are moving into HANA or should i have experience in  ABAP for few more years before i shift to HANA ?And i would also like to career growth opportunities in SAP HANA.

    Hi Karan,
    Techno Functional means it includes both Technical and Functional Knowledge.
    For knowing Technical things, you need to go for ABAP HR training and for knowing Functional areas you need to go for SAP HR. I think for your profile SAP HR which means Functional side would be good. But for Technical, one need to have the basic programming knowledge of any tool/technology.Then only it will be easy, otherwise it will be difficult. But nothing is impossible.
    Answers to your questions;
    1.SAP HR is good in the market now and it will be good in future too.Also, competition is less when comapared with other modules.Very less people are taking this module.
    2.Apart from SAP HR, the very hot hot module I can say is SAP FI/CO.It is king in SAP. Next comes Netweaver and SRM.
    3.You cannot compare Siemens and local institutes. If you go for Siemens you will write the exam, pass and get the certification. Using this certification you can find a job easily.Normally, companies recognize only if you have some good years of experience or as a certified fresher.Because you do not have exp, this ceritfication helps you finding a job.But whereas if you go to local institutes you cannot get the certification and it makes very difficult for you to get a job.You have to put some fake experience and try. But this is not easy and not recommended.That too there is no gap as you are a fresher, so you cannot claim any exp. Without exp and without certification, no body will recognize you.
    Think in all terms and then make a good decision. Good Luck for your future efforts.

    Yes,we can run 2 actions hiring and firing on a single day. for that check ur action type in t529a table. and check the boxes under - u( ,hiring action) and u(u0302,additional action).and for firing plz default feature msn20.and mention it in a same table t529a.
    but u can not run both d action at a time. u have to rum both a actions separately.

    Very frankly, it won't carry much of a weightage. SAP FI demands a core accountancy related job or financial analysis. If your 'banking' job provided you with such a scope, then you can easily link it in your interviews. If not, then strengthen your basic Commerce skills with accounting formulae & business terminologies/processes. And ofcourse your SAP certification basics too. You will need to work hard for the interviews.
