Certified Targets for OEM 10.2 releases

I have few questions on the certified targets for OEM 10.2.0.4
What versions of Oracle Databases can be monitored using the EM 10.2.0.4?
Also are there any drawbacks in monitoring the older versions of oracle viz 9.2 or 9i rel 1 version databases ?
Can we monitor 11g databases with the 10.2.0.4 EM environment?
Also, We have been getting Alerts from the Grid Setup when we have the Agent 10.2* running to monitor 9.2* release database
Message=Agent is Unreachable (REASON = Connection refused). Host is unreachable (REASON = Timed out pinging the host for EMD
Do you know what could be the reason for this Alert when i see everything is up and running..
Let me know if you'l had similar problems/Bugs or fixes applied to remediate this problem

2. For the alerts it seems that sometimes OMS unable to ping the agent box to get the availability of the Agent/host,
OMS monitors by verifying agent over HTTP and host over ICMP.

Hi, I have installed NetApp Plugin for OEM 12c (12.1.0.3.1) for a Netapp vFiler used for SMO. "Database Storage Utilization" and "Consolidation Database Storage Performance" empty. "Database is not on NFS mounted storage. Hence, no views available." - a. We are using ASM lun created on NFS. Does this means it will not appear in the plugin report ? - b. If point a. is true, is there a way to make the data appear ? I had already verified the BELOW. Only for point 4, I observed MGMT$DB_DATAFILES."OS_STORAGE_ENTITY" is NA (even though the ASM disk is actually on a NFS mount) : 1. Database discovery is done in EM12c . 2. Go to the database “HOST” target in EM 12c and click on the host target on which database resides. From host target drop down, click on “Host-> StorageDetails”. It will launch the “Storage Details” page. Please refer attached screenshot. There is a table displayed on bottom of screen and click on “File Systems” tab and check that your discovered database storage mount point is shown there. (Please note that whenever you define new mount point on host, this list should reflect the change.), otherwise, Database Performance views will not work. This mount point discovery is updated periodically. (It might be possible that DB views are not working because this discovery might not have finished) 3. Please click on NetApp Storage Target type and go to “Target HomePage drop down ->All Metrics”. Please click on “Volume List” metric and confirm if the volume is listed there on which database resides. 4. I am moving the same object from development to production, i feels ther is some problem in setting transport target.

whether i need to take obejct from quality and need to move that one to production, or i can use the same development object to production...?

MM06E008 - Monitoring of contr. target value in case of release orders

Hi,
I'm working on the enhancement MM06E008 (meant for monitoring the Contr. target value in case of release orders). Based on the requirement, we need to issue either an information or a warning message thru the exit. The message is getting triggered only when i issue an error message. Rather i want to send an information or a warning message. The requirement is such that we could not use the 06 Message class 042 Number in the config and thus we had to make use of this exit.
Can anyone let me know if it is possible to issue a non-error message (Say a warning or an info) thru the exit.
Points will be rewarded for helpful answers.

If you are looking to purchase Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c it requires an Oracle database for the repository which would be included in the license so you do not need to worry about the database version. Note if you were to use the the repository database for something other then the OEM repository this would require a database license.
You can confirm this information with your Oracle Rep or review the OEM license information.

Is their roadmap for the next major release of Netweaver stack?

In the ERP area, I found this link that mentions a roadmap for mySAP ERP2005 and beyond.
Is there a corresponding "beyond NW04s" roadmap? Or is the next major release of Netweaver targeted for 2010 as is the next major mySAP ERP release mentioned in the above mentioned roadmap?

Tobi, I can't go too far into it, but I can assure you that the next major release of Netweaver will not be in 2010. The idea is that you will be able to upgrade your Netweaver layer without upgrading the core(ECC). That means that you can stay current with technology while your business stays the same. So there will be Netweaver releases every so often before 2010.

I am missing "other" as a target for the result state

Hi,
I am trying to implement a quite complex scenario using guided procedure design time.
I am not able to find other as a target for the result state of a callable object (the system proposes me just the sequential action or termination, nothing more, so I am not able to change my flow as I would like).
My portal is NW04s SP10.
I fount that target (other) using a portal sp11, so I suppose that it could be a problem concerning sp10 release, but I was not able to find a confirmation for that

Hi Giuseppe,
If I have well understood youre trying to call in result state an action that is not in your current block.
To do this you have to install SP11 and the other will appear as possible choice in the result state target.

Apart from F5, Cisco is another SLB vendor. I am not sure about any free alternative though.
Note that regardless what SLB that you pick, it should meet the requirements documented in section 29.3.2.2 of the EM12c Release 3 Administrator's Guide:
The SLB must provide support for multiple virtual server ports. Enterprise Manager typically requires that up to 4 ports are configured on the SLB (Secure Upload, Agent Registration, Secure Console, Unsecure Console)
Support for persistence. HTTP and HTTPS traffic between the browser and the OMS requires persistence
Support for application monitoring. The SLB must be capable of monitoring the health of the OMSs and detecting failures, so that requests will not be routed to OMSs that are not availa

In my case the Glassfish 3.1.2.2 JDBC connection pool definition was

Transport target for business system not found in System Landscape Director

Folks,
We have new installed new PI 7.1 system and importing interfaces from the OLD XI 3.0 system in to new PID 7.1 system.
We are getting following error when we try to import an interfaces in to new PID system:
Import failed because of business system transfer object
Communication component XID_FileSystem: Obligatory
transport target for business system XID_FileSystem not found in
System Landscape Directory
We are yet to install PIQ system.
All the interfaces in the old XID system have transport target of XIQ system. I removed the transport taget for the interface, but transport target is still showing in the Business system under transport target head.
How can we overcome this issue as we will not have PIQ system atleast for two weeks.

Hi,
You need to maintain Transport Groups and target for business systems while SLD transports between your XI system and PI 7.1
Illustrated with DEv & PRD here.
Procedure:
1) Call Integration Builder screen on DEV Server with http://hostname:J2ee Port/rep
2) Call SLD (System Landscape Directory) Component from the Integration builder
Save all the Following .zip files on the Local Desktop
3) Select the Software Component & say Export that you want to Export from DEV
Server to Production server and which is going to use in the IR of XI
4) Also Select the Product of the above SWC and say Export
5) Select the Technical Systems (TS of XI & TS of the SAP R/3) and say Export
6) Select the Business System(s) & say Export; those are associated with above Exported
Technical systems.
In Production Server
1) Logon to the SLD of the Production Server.
2) Create a Technical System and Business system which points to the Production SAP R/3
3) Go to Administration TAB in the main page of SLD
4) Select the Import option to Import the SWC , PRD, TS,& BS which we Exported Earlier in DEV Server
5) Click on Browse and select the .zip files that is to Import into Production Server,
Which were stored on the local desktop at the time of DEV Server Export
And say Import Selected File Option
By this we exported and imported the SLD Objects
Now we have to create transport groups and transport targets in the Production server of SLD
Creation of Transport Groups
Edit GroupsGroup1) Select the Business systems
2) Click on New Group and give the name of the group as DEV_group & select the
Corresponding Development serveru2019s integration Server
3) Similar way create another group for Production serveru2019s business system as
PRD_group and select the Production serveru2019s integration Server
Creation of transport targets
This is to Define which business systems in two different groups correspond to each other
1) Select each Business system in the SLD and select transport TAB---click on
Add/Change Target and select its corresponding target business system.
For Example:
If you select the business system of Production XI server means
In the target you have to select group as DEVGROUP and the business system of Development XI server.
Like this do the same for other business systems also
Ex:
BS_PRD_Integration Server----
BS_DEV_Inetration Server
