CF Card Access over OTG

Hi,
Has anyone being successful in accessing a compact flash (CF) card using any OTG cable? If yes, can you tell me how you did it? Which cable you used?

I don't have any CF-card to test with but have you checked what file system you have on the card? It should be FAT32 or exFAT.
Also, the card reader that you use must work as a standard mass storage device. It should not need any special drivers.
Any OTG-cable should work.

Issue while accessing a SQL Server table over OTG

I have been learning oracle for about 1.5 years and am just starting to learn some OTG pieces. I am wondering about an issue. The issue is:
"We need help with an issue we are having while accessing a SQL Server table over OTG. We are getting the following error message in Oracle :
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[Oracle][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Unicode conversion failed {HY000}
The column it is failing on is "-----------" in the view --------------- in the SQL Server database pointed to by the Oracle DB Link ------------------- thats created in the Oracle instances ---- and -----.
This was working before, but is now failing, we suspect its due to new multi-byte data being added to the base table in the above column."
I took out the details and added ---- instead. I am wondering your guys thoughts on fixing this issue and helping me learn along the way. Thanks

Thanks for the response, here are the details:
1. What is the character set of the Oracle RDBMS being used. What is returned by -
select * from nls_database_parameters;
NLS_CHARACTERSET
AL32UTF8
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET
UTF8
We get SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_C1_AS and 1252 as Collation Property and Code Page
The datatype of the column in question in SQL Server is nvarchar(100).
When I do a describe on the SQL Server view ( desc CK_DATA_FOR_OPL@------- ), I get the error below;
ERROR: object CK_DATA_FOR_OPL does not exist
Select * from CK_DATA_FOR_OPL@------ where rownum =1 does get me a row.
create table tmp_tab as
Select * from CK_DATA_FOR_OPL@----- where rownum =1;
desc tmp_tab shows the datatype of the said column in the table created in Oracle as NVARCHAR2(150).
Not sure why a column defined with size 100 in SQL Server should come across as 150 when seen over OTG. We see something similar in DB2 tables we access over OTG as well.

There is no such account. The iPod is really a one-user device
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

When I try to execute the following command on a reasonably fresh Oracle 11 installation:

Searching for an answer on the forum didn't produce any concreate explanation... Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

As it turns out, the XML file contained a reference to a DTD at an external web-site, which caused the problem - it was identical to that described here:

After removing the reference, everything works perfectly...

App not working properly when access over vpn

hi,
Strange behavior of application when access through vpn. The application keeps on reloading endlessly. And other application renders completely but when the tab is clicked it will reload the whole page displaying the same tab. Is ADF has an issue when access over proxy?
Both application is build using ADF 11g and is implemented through regions.

I think there something to do with PPR or calling the region or am I missing something? The page that keeps reloading has taskflow with activation is immediate but the refresh is set to IfNeeded. Then the page with tabs, the content of the tab are taskflows as well.

The problem is I have no computer to use the Itunes and can't go to last purchase. Also, I have ipad 2 using the same adminstrator and have the same problem.

Wi-Fi Card Access List no longer accessible

At Telstra's suggestion I recently upgraded to a Telstra Gateway Max router. I set it up in the same way as my previous router with a Wi-Fi Access list of MAC addresses of devices to which I chose to give access to my Wi-Fi network. Yes I know that is not absolutely necessary but the facility is there so why not use it. Some time in the past few weeks the firmware on the router has been updated to cater for the new Telstra Air function. At the same time the ability to maintain the Wi-Fi Card Access List has disappeared although it still shows on the Help screen for the W-Fi functions. So now I am no longer able to add new devices or delete old devices from my Wi-Fi card Access List which is still being recognised by the software. This is a little like buying a family-size car and then having the dealer weld the back doors shut. The Telstra support staff struggle to understand the problem and suugest I contact the higher level support area who will not charge me if they can not solve the problem. Why should I pay for Telstra to solve a problem they caused! Has anyone else had a similar issue and how was it resolved?

It is something which has come up a few times since the release of the new Firmware update, it looks like it might be something to do with making Air work... but a number of features of the device in its initial state as intended by the manufacturer have been removed or limited by the Firmware in order to ensure the system runs as Telstra intend it to run... it is a matter of give and take... you have less features but it makes it simpler for the 'average user'...

Slow internet access over 3G

Since 5/31/12, my internet access over 3G has been super duper slow.
I can see that a request is going out from the phone, but the phone just sits there saying 'requesting' this is happening with any site I visit. Anyone else seeing this behavior? I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've been seeing this problem in the South Bay and North Bay.

I have experienced very to to connect for about a week. Contacted support by email yesterday and got this response this morning. Surprisingly, it was better today.

You will have setup issues.. as the latest AC model requires a Mac or iOS device.. eventually apple will release a windows version of the utility.. and the current one does partly work but Apple seem in no hurry.
You can find a Mac or iPad equipped friend to do the setup.. once setup the Windows computer can use it.
BUTT you cannot access it from remote..
Not with windows. You need BTMM and iCloud account. AFAIK even with those you cannot reach the TC.
You can do it manually.. using a vpn. Buy a proper vpn router and use a vpn client on the windows computer.. the TC would be in bridge to the network..
Apple really did not make this for windows.. and SMB access is only provided on LAN access not WAN.

Connect smart card reader over usb and access digital signature certificate

I got digital signature certificate stored in a smart card.I places smart card into card reader and plugged usb port of server.
I can see card reader in windows environment.My problem is to connect card reader and access digital signature certificate using java code.
I thinh it needs javax.smartcardio but i did not find necessary jar file for jdk 1.5.xx.
1- Where can i download jar fiel for javax.smartcardio for jdk 1.5.xx
2- Is there a blog or forum thread to help me to use smart card over usb?

One of the beauty of Java is that when the Java VM does not let you do something (here: accessing a Smart Card), there is no way that a purely Java solution will add this functionality.
Hence, what you ask simply can not be done in pure Java (1.)5. Some machine-specific non-java code is required. And you did not specify your target.
Unless a jar file could contain machine-specific code (I don't know if this is the case, and I never made one such jar file), there seems to be no way a jar file could help.

Epson Artisan Memory Card Access Problem

I just purchased this new printer and everything works well over my wireless network except for getting access to the memory card reader. The supplied Memory Card app kept saying that it couldn't find the server. I couldn't find any help on the net but after some poking around I solved the problem myself. Maybe this will be of some help to others.
First I ran the Artisan 710 Network Setup and copied the printer ip address. Then I went to Connect To Server (command K) and put smb:// and the ip address of the printer. After connecting the printer will show up on the side bar as one of the servers which is easier to interact with than the Memory Card app. Curiously the app still says that it can't connect to the server even after I connected to it manually.

Custom Access over msmdpump

Lets say we have two SSAS Databases. In each we have Dynamic Dimension Security implemented. The Database are only accessable to Users by the msmdpump.dll. We have some Standard Reports in Xlcubed which can be accessd by Sharepoint.So far so good.
Now our customer wants a custom security for the cubes in that way, that some Users whcih have access to cube and can use the Standard Reports are NOT allowed to use the Client Excel or other Analysis Tool for Adhoc Analysing. So they are only allowed to
use the Standrd Reports.
My first idea was to use a Proxy (as described here:
SSASProxy) doesnt meet our needs.
My second idea was to implement a Custom Module for IIS, but "unfortunatly" the messages between client and server are encrypted. for details:
XMLA over TCP/IP.
Could you imagine a possible way of implementing that?

My actual solution looks like this: 1 Role on the cube for all users which are allowed to analyze. So these users can access the cube by the normal way over the datapump.
A second role which includes only 1 Sys User. Then I use the Proxy by which everybody can connect. In this proxy I check out the user and from where it comes(Web, Excel,..) and where ihe wants to connect and open a new Webrequest to the Datapump by the Sys
User. In the CustomData Property I add the Username. So all our Standardreport will use the Proxy.
Cons:
ensure to determine from where the user is coming
performance? when all user connecting to the cube with one sys-user
if a new Standardreport is published, we must ensure that this report is using the proxy (while in design, some connectionmapping,..)

I want to share my library with my teenager but would like her to be able to make purchases with her gift cards, but not have free access to my credit card.
