CF Developer Edition - more than one local site?

I have the local developer edition of CF8 installed on my home machine, and I've basically used it to duplicate my work environment. Unfortunately, I now have a second work environment, so I need a second local site set up. While this is no problem in Dreamweaver, it seems to be quite the problem with CF, as all my includes are relative via the site root (i.e. /includes/whatever.cfm).
Is there any way to set up a second local site with CF? Like on a diffetent port or something?

To answer your first two questions:
The reason they're getting Enterprise (at least that's what I think they're getting) is that someone in the IT department has likely been convinced that it's the most secure. This is the same reason they won't use Express - "It's free, so anyone can download it, install it, and figure out how to hack it". I kid you not, that's exactly what the head of IT security said to me, with a straight face.
And coping with Access? It was a chore, but I think in the end it forced me to write more efficient queries, because all my CF/Access stuff runs way better (and faster) than the .NET/Oracle stuff we have on our apps servers.
The problem with setting up a Server 2008 machine is that I just don't have any room for a 3rd PC in here. I have my primary PC (Linux) that I do 90% of everything on (mostly personal), and the Win7 machine, which was supposed to be my "kicking around" machine. I'm using it more now because my office finally set up SRA, and getting SRA to work on Linux has not been horribly successful.
I don't really want to set up a development environment that matches my office as much as I just want to play with MS SQL (and upsizing databases, etc). I do want to be able to do some stuff though, in case SRA is down. I also want to get my wife's website set up locally so I can work on that. I'd set her site up on my Linux machine (already have MySQL and CF9 on that) but I really like using Dreamweaver.

Not able to edit more than one function of new photos

I recently upgraded my iPhoto to 09 after shifting to Leopard 10.5 on my G5. Today, for the first time after the upgrade, I loaded about 100 photographs and have found that I am unable to edit more than one function at a time on these image. For example, the image contrast can be adjusted, but, following that, no other function or cropping appears to work. The saved image, after selecting "Done", doesn't show any change other than the initial edit. Surprisingly, I am able to perform multiple edits on the images that were already in the Library (8,500!). After looking at this forum's topics and trying some of the suggestions provided for other editing issues, I've tried to edit more than one function in full screen view, library and album modes with no success.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you go the PS or PSE route this many be of some help:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

Is more than one Central Site in the same AD site supported?

Working with a customer here, and they will be hosting 250,000 accounts for Lync 2013, and I know that a Central Site can only host 240,000 accounts. Knowing this limitation, can more than one Central Site be located within the same data center? I would
think that separate subnets (AD Sites) are all that is required.
Is it this simple?

I haven't looked at the limits of a site, because I've never had to go that high. Can you reference where you found that information? Is that an actual limitation or just a limit of the capacity planner?

And you could split the pools into different sites if needed, that should get you around the limit if it exists.

In the Metadata menu there are 3 lift options.
Lift Metadata, Lift Adjustments and Lift Metadata and Adjustments.
the last two will also work for adjustments like White balance (basically any adjustments done in the Adjustments panel. (of course RAW specific settings cant be stamped onto jpeg images)
(and in the Window menu is an option to show the Lift&Stamp HUD)

Using Master Pages in more than one Muse site

Can I import a master pager from one Muse site into another so I can use it there without having to start the layout over from scratch?
And if so, then how?

You can do this by opening the master page from the source site, then use Edit -> Select All, copy and then go to the master page in the destination site, and use Edit -> Paste in Place. This will make the destination master page same as the source master page.

How do I get Firefox to display more than one web site that I am developing using Localhost command?

I write the html code for the four web sites I develop and the one I maintain. I want to view the sites before I put them on the internet. I am able to do this with only one of the five. What, if anything, to I have to change in the browser to allow me to do this? I have edited the host file to include the names of the files on my computer of each of the sites. What should I do now?

You'd like to be able to access each site with its own locally-hosted url, correct? (for example- http://localhost1/, http://localhost2/ etc, )? That's a ''server'' setting, rather than a browser one.
How it works will depend on what software you are running to serve the pages. ''Apache'', for example, uses [http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/vhosts/ Virtual Hosts] (and in this case, specifically [http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/vhosts/name-based.html Name-based Virtual Hosts] ). There's usually an example in the configuration file to experiment with (be sure to back it up first).

How can I have more than one mobleme site?

I currently have two registered domains with godaddy.com and created a website with one of them on iweb and published it to my mobile me account. However I want to create a second website on mobleme. I have another domain that I want to use and publish to mobleme, but have discovered I can't. It appears that I can have only one domain registered to mobileme. Is there anyway of add my other domain and also host it on mobileme under another name other than the one I already have?

You can have only one domain re-directed to MobileMe via CNAME. You can have more domains re-directed to MobileMe via Web-forwarding — with or without masking. Read more here:

Can you burst to more than one local directory?

Creative Mediasource ID3 Tags - Edit more than one year at a ti

I use a 60gb Zen Xtra with Mediasource. I take pride in the ID3 tags of all my files especially those of my Jazz collection and my player is well organised. The only thing I have to ask is - is there any way of editing the year of, say, an entire album that was recorded in 959 for example all at the same time. It lets me do this for Artist, Album and Genre but not year. Is there any upgrade in software I can get or am I just missing something here?

Shucks, I tried and you can't seem to do it. A curious oversight.
You can either use another copying program like which will let you do it, or simply get a mass tagger (but you will need to edit the tracks on the PC first, then copy). For some mass tagger recommendations look here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net.

Edit more than one text box at a time?

I find it extremley irritating having to go through every text box changing each line, for example when you make a business card is it possible to change all the text boxs at the same time?

Yes you can drag a VCard from your AddressBook or a *Numbers Spreadsheet* on to the page and it will automatically populate the entries if they are set up to merge, which most of the templates are.
If you drag a Group from AddressBook it will create as many pages of Business Cards as there are entries in the Group, one per page.
Be aware there are 2 types of merges, one for *Your details* +Sender Field+ (obtained from your personal details in the Address Book) and one for *Others details* +Merge Field+ inserted from:
+Menu > Insert > Merge Field / Sender Field+
The business card templates are constructed for +Sender Fields+, delete each entry and replace with the appropriate *Merge Fields*.

You just publish your second site to MobileMe and use url forwarding to point your second domain name to your second site. It is exactly the same thing you did with your first site, the only change is that the url you forward to is different, i.e http://web.mac.com/konstantijnvc/secondsitename

Editing more than one picture at a time?

Title says it all really...
Is it possible to select a number of photos and apply the same change to all of them? What I am trying to do is boost the colour of all the photos in an album (effects --> boost colour)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer will do this, but I cannot confirm that it works with iPhoto 08. A little trial and error might be worth a go.
Alternatively, you can copy and paste your setting from one pic to the next very quickly - note the 'copy' and 'paste' buttons on the Adjust window.

I would like to restrict access, using passwords, to different group of users. Can I publish two sites on my mobileMe using two different users'name and password?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. A little bit about iWebSites. I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process and move it to another location on your HD until you're satisfied the separation process is completed and what you want.
This lets me edit more than one sites and only republish the one I want.
The URLs for you sites will be: http://web.me.com/yourMMe_accountname/site name

Cannot work on more than one page and menu shifting problems

I downloaded Muse CC 2014 when it first came out, and now I find myself no longer able to edit more than one page without having to completely shut down the application and start it again. Here's what happens:
I open a page to edit, and then anything else I try to double click on (or right click and choose open page) does absolutely nothing. Any ideas why this is occurring?
Also, I've noticed a strange phenomenon where my menu has completely shifted its menu contents - pushing everything down. Nothing I did - wondering why this is happening. This has pretty much rendered Muse unusable to me and I am becoming more and more frustrated since I'm paying good money for this....please help.
Here's a screenshot of the messed up menu (all text should be located in between the green dots and not so spread out):
Also, if I try to create a border around a text box with just the bottom border showing (i.e. the other 3 sides are set to 0), that bottom border also shifts down as if the text container has suddenly expanded.
This happens with both my Macbook Air and my MacPro.

You could look at using a template. Create your master template, create editable and non-editable regions, then use this template create all the child pages. When you need to make a change to the menu, make it in the template and the changes will flow down to all the pages created from the template.

Difference between using a template and server side includes.
When you make a change to a template, you need to re-upload all the pages created from the template.
Using a SSI, you make the change in the ssi file, upload it and all pages are automatically updated.
