CF MX7 and MySQL 5

Hey,
I just reinstalled ColdFusion (Developer Edition) and I had
to reinstall the mysql-connector-java-3.1.12-bin.jar file into the
WEB-INF\lib directory for added connectivity with MySQL 5. Problem
is, I can't find that directory anymore...
I am running Windows 2003 Server with IIS 6. I searched for
the WEB-INF directory, but the handfull that came up didn't look
right. I copied the file to all possible WEB-INF\lib directories
that existed, but then came to another problem. Nothing happened.
I went to restart the service, but I don't know what the
service is called. I have about 5 services running that have
something to do with ColdFusion, but I don't know which one to
restart. I tried restarting them all, then restarting IIS, but
still no connectivity with IIS. Actually, I think tried restarting
the server too, and that didn't fix it either.
Also, in Services, I see these services:
ColdFusion MX 7 ODBC Agent
ColdFusion MX 7 ODBC Server
ColdFusion MX 7 Search Server
Macromedia JRun Admin Server
Macromedia JRun CFusion Server
Any ideas?

I am using CF MX7 and needing to connect to a client db in
mySQL 5. I configured the datasource in the CF Administrator using
the included MySQL (3.x) driver and it gives status OK. Cool. Then,
in Dreamweaver in my Databases panel, the new datasource is

I would like to know the major difference between Oracle and MySQL. I have a project to generate XML files from database tables, i have used oracle's built XML functions XMLELEMENT, XMLATTRIBUTES, XMLFOREST, XMLAGG. I really want to know if these functions (or) similar functions are supported/availabe in MySQL.
I am having a hard time to find out best linux distro for installing Oracle11g, so i am planning to switch to MySQL. Please help, Thanks in advance.

PHP and MySQL Connection problem

I am trying to make a PHP MySQL on a remote server connection in Dreamwesaver CS3.
When I enter the information (host, user, password, etc.) and hit TEST, I get the following error message.
"Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured."
I know the user, password, etc. work, as I can access the MySQL database with other software.
I checked with my host and they say there are no permission problems on their end.
I have checked the settings on the Test Server page in Site Setup and everything looks correct and works there.
I have not seen this particular problem described in other forum postings (although there are a LOT of postings on this topic!).
Any help would be appreciated.

I thought my testing server was the remote server and is always on as far as I know. I don't know how to turn it on or off.
Is there some other testing server that I should be aware of?

I know you are using remote, but is your testing server on? if not turn that on and see if that does it. it just happened to me working on remote server and could not get mysql conn to work, until I turn on my testing (developer server), then I was able to connect to mysql and the tables that I created in phpmyadmin remotly was downloaded.

I just installed the ODBC Driver; The data source machine was available; When selected I had received the message. When it was selected I had received the message:
"ODBC -- falha na chamada.
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] O DSN especificado contém uma incompatibilidade de arquiteturas entre o Driver e o Aplicativo (#0)"
In english, could to say: "ODBC -- fail on call.

How do I add an already built Shopping Cart (PHP and MYSQL) (Cartweaver 4) application to a page in a Muse site? Do I have to export the Muse site as Html to dreamweaver and them use the extension to bring the shooping cart in or can I do it directly in Muse?

We have experimented with doing this with some good success. We have been working on adding Cartweaver to a Facebook page by essentially adding a Cartweaver store to Facebook in an iframe. The "store" would be pages with just your basic product display, cart, and checkout functionality, with none of the "window dressing" - just use CSS to match the color and general look of the design it's being added to.
The one problem with this for Facebook is when it comes time to check out toy have to leave Facebook and go to your server where an SSL is in place. Fortunately in this situation this would not be the case, you can have an SSL installed to the root of your site and you'll be okay.
This is an interesting project. Give this a try and let me know how it goes and if you run into any snags, please make a post on the Cartweaver forums: http://forums.cartweaver.com - I'm really confident that this can work, and not only work, but work well.

Problem with BigInteger and MySql

I've a problem with BigInteger and MySql.
I've a BigInteger object (suppose that value is 0.02270412445068359375).
I must store that value in a database (MySql).
The value of BigInteger object must be stored in a column of type Decimal.
Stored value is 0.022704124450683594. Why ??

Slow DataBase Access using JDK 1.5 and MySQL

Hi EveryBody,
I am using Jdk1.5 in my project and mysql 5.0 as my database server.
The problem is that, to create a connection for the first time it takes upto 20 to 25 seconds.
when i use the 1.4.2 with the same mysql version it takes only 2 seconds.
In both the cases i am using the JDBC driver (com.mysql.jdbc.Driver )
I cannot understand the problem with the jdk1.5,
so, please help me in resoving this issue.

I encountered same problem with connecting Oralce.
It's a bug of JDK1.5.
You need upgrade JDK1.5 to latest version,or use IP address instead of machine name(such as locahost etc.).

Connection issue on 32 bit Linux OBIEE with Postgres and Mysql

I am having trouble running reports on 32 bit Linux OBIEE version 10.1.3.4.0 and 10.1.3.4.1 with Postgres or Mysql as data source . I can connect to same data source (postgres and Mysql) from presentation services on windows box and also run queries from nqcmd using 32 bit linux ODBC driver on linux box running OBIEE server. Deploy Applet and MySQL - how to read and write

Question on deploying Applet and MySQL
I am building an applet that is to be a part of a simple game. The applet is supposed to read data from a MySQL server and use it to place towns on the map. In addition, the applet must be able to write to the base.
I have build a prototype and ran it in netbeans on my computer. It then successfully read data from a local MySQL base. HOWEVER; when I embed the applet in html code it no longer reads from the base. My method for connecting to the base is

1) Why wont the applet read anymore?
2) Is there a better way to do this? I have heard that its better to connect applets to servlets in some situations. What demands does this place on the server? Is there software that you need to install on the server to use servlets?

I think I do need an applet. The map I have written permits a lot of features that I dont know how to achieve in another way.
1) Zooming in and out on mousewheel
2) Clicking on on two towns gives the distance and by selecting a trooptype one can get information about the traveltime between cities.
3) Right now, I have a feature to find players or groups of players that are of special interest. It allows a player to submit a list of interesting players. The applet reads this list and provides a button with the players name. If one clicks the name of a player, all his cities flash between their originall color and white (using thread).
I need java to do this and I need to run it in a webbrowser because there are som parts of the game that is made up of php. So I assume I have to build it as an applet?

Dreamweaver CS5.5 Mobile Apps with PHP and MYSQL?

Hello,
I don't have Dreamweaver CS5.5 yet and I've been trying to search for information on this but I couldn't find any. I've been learning PHP and been developing with MYSQL with Dreamweaver CS5 but I wanted to know if I can use the same tags and everything if I would to build a Mobile App using the new Dreamweaver CS5.5 (http://tv.adobe.com/watch/cs-55-web-premium-feature-tour-/dreamweaver-cs-55-jquery-mobile- pages/). I overlooked at the video and it seems pretty easy building an app. So is PHP and MYSQL easily integratable? Are there any examples that I might be able to check out?

No. PHP is a server-side scripting language that requires a server (or server-like environment) to run.
An iPhone (or Android) application does not allow for a "built-in" server (which is resource intensive and has scary security implications). You just can't build an application with PHP/MySQL for a mobile device. Instead you can build a web service that your HTML/JavaScript mobile application can then communicate with. This is the only supported way you can use PHP/MySQL in a mobile app. Again: the PHP/MySQL should reside on a server and your HTML/JS mobile app can then communicate with that web service. That's what instapaper and other applications do.
Frankly, just make a web application that's mobile device friendly and you'll:
1) Avoid all the messiness of the app stores
2) Have greater control over what your web app can do (don't have to tow the Apple/Google line)
3) Have a web app that can work across mulitple mobile devices as well as standard web browsers (i.e. more audience = more $).
4) Future proof your application (pushing updates to your server and everyone using your web app is updated)
Otherwise, read-up on Adobe AIR and what it supports and remember, the best apps are written natively for the platform (i.e. want to write an app for an iPhone? Learn Objective-C and use xCode on a Mac. Want to write an app for Motorola Xoom? Learn the Android SDK and use inteliJ).

quantity limit on file upload per user. i.e max 5 uploaded images
allowed per user.
Here is a basic example of the creation. Just need the
implementation of how to set a max upoad limit.

users and construct a php script that could add the amount of
images entered by a user into the images table and add a +1 to each
added. Problem is i dont know how to create that script or mysql
querty in order to enter into a recorset for example.
As anyone have any ideas of the best way to set a max
