CF8 Help in Dreamweaver CS3
Does anyone know how to configure Dreamweaver CS3 to show CF8
help when I hit F1 while I have a CF tag highlighted?

Never used CF Studio or HomeSite so I don't know how they
worked. Perhaps you can explain more about what you're actually
like to have happen.
There is the CF8 updater extension for Dreamweaver (for CS3
and CS4):

Adobe is moving toward online help, but they tend to have

It's an error on the Adobe server. It's been like that for a
couple of
days. I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed. I'll see if I can
contact
someone who can sort it out.
You should be aware, though, that the release of Dreamweaver
CS4 is
imminent, so the trial of CS3 might be withdrawn at any time.

Help using Dreamweaver cs3 tutorial, chapter 8, opening browser window dialog box
Hello,
I am using the adobe classroom in a book tutorial for cs3 and have run into a snafu on page 188 of chapter 8. I have tried to select the + sign under the smaller top photo to create a pop-up window. when I select the + sign I cannot access the open browser window dialog box to enter info. I cannot seem to use the link field in the property inspector for this. The link area under source will not come up, just the link over target, which in turn will not bring up the open browser dialog box. Any solutions? Thanks, DesignChambersHi David,
I just had the same problem. I cannot preview in Mozilla (or IE). The program becomes unresponsive and I have to close it. Is there any chance that Adobe will update Dreamweaver CS3 so that we can preview in modern browsers? -

I am trying to install CS3 on my laptop that does have 512mb
of ram, although it has intigrated graphics so it only reports
~480mb to windows. So i get the ram error while trying to install

If you take a look at other posts, you'll find a lot of
queries about
installation problems with CS3, so you're not in the wrong
place, but
the lack of replies to your question suggests that nobody has
the answer.
The CS3 installer is very fussy (to put it mildly). It won't
install on
systems that don't match the minimum requirements. Even
though you have
512MB RAM, the system shows only 480, so you fall below the
threshold.
Unless you can find a way to get the machine to report the
full amount
of RAM, your only course of action seems to be to install
more RAM.

I so desperatly need help with using creating Websites. First
of all I should let you know that I was placed in this position
becuase the girl before me quit and they had no one else to take
over. Dont get me wrong I really do like the software but I feel
lost and I have asked several people who do know how to use the
program . One person I asked is the webmaster for the area but when
I went to her for help she created a new site for us. That was not
what I wanted. I wanted a hands on expierience but didnt get it and
she always takes over. We even had tech support for a year but this
lady was either away or didnt help. I have also asked the
surrownding area webmasters for help and havent heard from them
either. So I sincerly need help. I am no giving up and I'm
determined to figure the program out. So If there are any Angels
out there please help.The only way to get yourself out of this hole is to forget
about learning
the tool, and concentrate on learning the technology. Study
HTML and CSS,
and you will find that you don't need to learn anything about
DW to use it
effectively.

Dreamweaver CS3 debug tools for CF8?
Does anyone know of/have any native or 3rd party tools or
extensions that will debug CF code (like the CFEclipse debugger)
for DW CS3?

Dreamweaver CS3 frameset browse problem
When I click to preview in a browser for a .CFM file which
contains a frameset, Dreamweaver opens the browser with the
PHYSICAL path (eg. C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot\mysite\frameset.cfm) and
so all that is displayed in the browser is markup. On the other
hand, if I click to preview in a browser for any other .CFM file,
Dreamweaver correctly opens the page using the web url (eg.
http://localhost:8501/mysite/test.cfm)
and so the page is parsed properly.
Also, If I click the "Live Data Viewer" button on the
frameset page, then I get a message:
The testing server did not execute any of the scripts in your
document. Possible explanations: Testing server is not running.
Testing server ignores .cfm files.
That message only occurs on the frameset page. Other .CFM
pages display correctly in the Live Data Viewer.Broadcasting your serial number to the entire internet probably isn't going to help things in the activation department.

CF8 + Dreamweaver CS3 - Unable to access Coldfusion Enhancements
So here's the deal. I recently upgraded to both CF8 and
Creative Suite CS3 (woo!) and wanted to use the CF Login Wizard
included as part of the Coldfusion enhancements. Despite having set
up my sites using CF as the testing server, the enhancements
weren't unlocked.
I checked the Dreamweaver / livedocs help for more on the
subject and
found
this article saying that the enhancements can only be unlocked if
you have CF set as your testing server.. Ok . . . and what if
you did that (and have always done that) and it still doesn't work?
All of my software is fully patched, too.
Is the problem that Dreamweaver CS3 doesn't recognize CF8 and
is therefore not unlocking the enhancements? Are there any
work-arounds? I've spent over an hour checking forums and different
websites without any success. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
in advance.Your question is a little vague. In order to assist you, one
must know what environment you are in. Assuming that you are using
a local computer, using windows (non NT), and setting up cf8
developer edition in order to have a coldfusion virtual server to
test webs on:
You must make sure IIS is turned OFF. Clear the internet
information services box from the windows add/remove programs >
add/remove windows components screen.
When you install Coldfusion, make sure you use the default
settings when clicking through the setup and remember your
coldfusion password. The default setting for localhost port is 8500
Add coldfusion options to dreamweaver using adobe exchange.
Most important parts: Move any website you are trying to
access into the c:\coldfusion8\wwwroot\ folder.
Edit your site in dreamweaver throught the site > manage
sites > edit > advanced tab
on the Local Info Tab type in:
Local Root Folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname
Image Folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\images
http://localhost:8500/yoursitesname/
on the Remote Host tab:
check the tab Local/Network
type C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\
on the Testing Site tab:
choose Coldfusion > Local/Network
Testing Server folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\
URL Prefix =
http://localhost:8500/yoursitesname/
You can't just point to http://localhost/ as you would using,
say, wamp5.
Once I did this I was able to use everything fine. -

However, you don't have to re-invent the wheel, there are many guestbook scripts available to save you the time and certainly the headaches :-)

PLEASE HELP - Problem with 2 column fixed template in Dreamweaver CS3
I am trying to create a website using the 2 column fixed, right sidebar, header and footer html template in Dreamweaver CS3. I tried putting a picture in the right side bar as well as with in the main content or left portion of the page, and neither picture is showing up when I view it in any of the browsers I'm using.
I've made some minor changes in colors and sizing, but other than that no other changes. The pic I put in for the header is showing up just fine though.
Any help or advice to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Can't create new sites in Dreamweaver CS3. Help!
I am trying to create a new site in Dreamweaver CS3 but keep
getting the following error:
"The action cannot be completed because the other program is
busy.
Choose 'Switch to' to activate the program and correct the
problem"
I have tried every documented solution on the adobe website
and other discussion forums and still cannot get past the problem.
I have restarted the IIS server on my local PC as documented
on the following adobe technote:

Other things I have done:
1. I have followed all the advice in the links at the bottom
of the above page.
2. I have created a new user, logged into that and tried
creating a site with a "virgin" environment
and I still have the problem.
3. I have gone into the registry and renamed the site
configuration info in case something was corrupted.
This removed all my site configurations. No help!
4. I have turned of my firewall and restarted the IIS
server.
5. I have searched the web for anything even remotely
similar to this error and tried every tip out there.
I called Adobe and they referred me back to the technote
above, which I had already tried.
One last bit of info. I can't create new sites, but I can
edit web pages in my existing sites. However, I cannot change the
configuration of the website in the Manage Sites area (i.e. I can't
push the Edit button).
Has anyone had this problem? Any help would be appreciated. I
have hit a brick wall on this one and am trying to meet a deadline
on a new website I need to create.
If I can't find a solution quick, I will be an
ex-Dreamweaver user. That saddens me because I really like
Dreamweaver, but I have to perform on my job.And are you running Skype?

Did you complete your form as well? A form needs to be completed and signed by both parties and submitted to Adobe support via a support ticket. Chat support cannot help, but should have pointed you to the KB article with the instructions.
