CF9 Report Builder: Hardcopy only has watermark, no detail

I'm committing the sin of putting this question to multiple forums but I'm hoping a different audience might give an answer as I'm on a dealine to produce this report.
I'm working on a workstation which has a CF9 Developer Edition Server and I installed CF9 Report Builder to develop a hardcopy report and when I test it, I see on screen the report details together with a watermark:
Adobe ColdFusion Developer/Trial Edition
Not for Production Use
When I print the the report, I only get the watermark???!!!

To issue 1: The report contains a report band called report footer. thsi is always at the last page. The report footer band initially is collapsed, so you have to expand it by dragging the last band divider.
To issue 2: I guess this is a page break calculating error when detail data reaches really near the page footer area.
Try some experiments with different setting of the following properties/issues:
- in elements, e.g. calculating fields in the bands between report detail and page footer: In Properties / Print Control / Printing Options: Activate the option "Remove line when blank". This will remove the whole report band area if this field is blank. May save some empty space.
- try to remove unused empty space between detail rows.
- try to resize and reposition all detail fields so that they snap to the grid.
Best regards

  • Installed 8GB Ram into Macbook Pro, System Report says it only has 2GB RAM

I decided to upgrade my 13.3 inch MacBook Pro from 4GB Ram to 8GB Ram.
I purchased two Crucial 4GB Ram from two different dealers on Amazon and installed them myself.
I turned my MacBook on and now it says that only one slot is being used and that it is a 2GB.
I have a feeling that either one of the Ram slots has failed, however it still puzzles me that it says that 2GB of RAM is installed? Is there any way of refreshing the 'About This Mac' or is there anything to make the Mac recogise this problem?
    Thanks in advance

open the mac back up and make sure both ram modules are seated properly.  It takes a little hard push to get them seated and you will hear a click/snap when they are seated.  To determine if a ram slot has failed, simply put back in the old ram, and if both slots are recognized, the problem is with the new ram.

    Hi Pmbt,
From your description, you cannot start Report Builder using Google Chrome, right? In Reporting Services, you use a Web browser to view reports and run Report Manager. Not all report functionality is supported by all browsers. Google Chrome is not a supported
browser for SSRS. So we recommend you to start Report Builder using IE. For the detail information about it, please see:

  • Reports builder on Windows 7 (64bit)

    Hello,
I hope someone can help me with this....... I have installed Oracle Forms an Reports (64) on Windows 7 (64bit) successfully, but when i try to start report builder it does not open and no error apeared. I try to run it in cmd and i get the following message : The Reports Builder is only supported on the Linux x86 and Windows x86 operating systems... So is it true that I can't run reports on 64bit Windows or am I doing somethin wrong? What can I do? Can I install Forms/Reports (x86) on my version of Windows and will it work?
If someone has any idea please hepl me,
    thank you!!

Today I installed FMW 11.1.1.3 and got the same error message when calling rwbuilder.bat. I had to remove the line "goto end" in the batch file to get Reports Builder running. I havn't tested the stability so far but at least I can run the builder. It is (as expected) the 32-bit software. If there are problems I would try to run it in compatibility mode.

  • WHERE Predicate line works in Aqua Data Studio, not in Report Builder

I’m trying to get a query working in report builder which will pull data back when run in Aqua Data Studio.
It returns a NULL set when working with the same data source from report builder.
    Here is the WHERE clause:
    --WHERE SYSDATE < :REM_DATE
    -- troubleshooting line (=DateAdd("d", 3, Now()))
    WHERE SYSDATE
    < TO_DATE(TO_CHAR(TPOA.POST_DT,
    'MM/DD/YYYY'),
    'MM/DD/YYYY') +
    3
    AND TPOA.DEST_OTHER
    IS NOT NULL
    AND TPOA.AUTH_STATUS_IND =
    'A'
The commented line works in Report Builder.  :REM_DATE has as its default expression =DateAdd(“d”, 3, Now()), used as a means of troubleshooting.
There isn’t a way to populate :REM_DATE before use because forward dependencies aren’t allowed.
Also tried is this line for the first part of the WHERE:
    WHERE SYSDATE
    < TPOA.POST_DT + 3
As well, it works in AD but not in RB.
Here is the full query, which is the 2nd query in a UNION:

    Hi Michael,
What's the version of your Report Builder? When you run the query in query designer of Report Builder, have you got any error/warning message?
In this case, I would suggest you can try to SQL Server Profiler to capture some events do further investigation while run the query in Report Builder.

  • Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    Hi All,
The report builder in my system is behaving weirdly. If I open a report, which is having a normal browser output, it allowing me to see the data model, layout model and everything. And if I open a report, which is having a PDF output, it's not allowing me to open the Layout.
Here the output is in context of Oracle Applications front-end. And as I know it shouldn't be a problem with Report Builder.
It errors out with the following message.
Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
And the error report contains the following message.

Is it problem with my system or the Operating System or the version of the Oracle Developer?
Can anyone please help me out?

  • Rwrun60.exe - only with complete Report Builder Installation

    Hello,
what has to be installed in order to run rwrun60.exe
in a "standalone" modus. does a complete report builder
environment has to be installed ? or can rwrun60.exe
somehow run on its own ?
    Thank you
    Thorsten Lorenz

I think you have to install complete report builder. If you install only report runtime it causes problems while running reports.

  • Saving report in Report Builder 10.1.2. saves only half of file

    Hi,
I have problems with saving files in Report Builder 10.1.2. After saving a rdf-file it shows only half the size of the original file.
When closing the report in Builder and opening it again it won't open. Also the temp-file is half the size of the original rdf-file during saving.
Can someone help me to solve this? Auto-save in Preferences is turned off. Have tried to open and save files on the network and on the local pc.

    Hi,
Did you used OUTER join?? if you have any suitable Outer join according to my understanding query should return Assignment data but with NULL value, then you can replace as you need it in Reports.

  • Report builder closes on its own saying it has encountered an error

    hi
i am using reports 6i ,i changed an existing query in data model with a query consiting of union statements
eg earlier the column names(just giving eg of one column) were DT_TRANSACTION_DATE
    now
after giving the modified query consisting of union clause the column name comes as DT_TRANSACTION_DATE1
why is this happening ? in the modified query i havent changed th existing column names ,just included a new column
why do the existing columns get a 1 as suffix
now when i try to run the report ,report builder closes on its own saying it has encountered an error
    kindly guide
    thanking in advance

This "changing" of field-names, in general, happens when the column-names in the SQL-query are not written with proper aliases, so that reports creates aliases on its own.

  • Reports Builder has encountered a problem

    Hi,
I am getting the following error couple of times today whenever I work on Reports (Reports Builder 6i):
Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

Does anybody know why I'm getting this error.
    Any suggestions/advises would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

This is a very known problem among the report developers, and no fixes exist. Just the Report Builder is buggy, and that's it. Something to do with memory allocation or like. The more complex the reprot is and the more other applications are open in Windows, the more often this error comes up. Save your report design as often as possible, that's the bottom line. If the error is still to often, reboot the PC. From time to time I had to reinstall the Report Builder with the patches to decrease the frequency of the error.

  • Coldfusion report builder download has no help included

I just downloaded both the CF Report builder versions for 8 and 9 and there is no English language help file included.
Does anyone know where or how I can download this?
Clicking on help just gives you a warning saying 'MS Html Help is not installed on this PC.'

I found MS html help version 1.4. When attempting to install it, the installer indicated that I already had the newest version installed. Yet, CFRB continues to indicate that "MS Html Help is not installed on this PC". I am running on Win 7 64 bit platform. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
    Hmm, that is strange.
If there is no shortcut to the help file in the Windows menu, use the Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder where CFRB is installed, (default is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\ColdFusion Report Builder") and double click on the "CFReportBuilder.chm" file.
If it loads successfully, then create a shortcut to it in a location that is convenient for you.

  • Report Builder Wizard and Parameter Creation with values from other data source e.g. data set or views for non-IT users or Business Analysts

    Hi,
"Report Builder is a report authoring environment for business users who prefer to work in the Microsoft Office environment.
You work with one report at a time. You can modify a published report directly from a report server. You can quickly build a report by adding items from the Report Part Gallery provided by report designers from your organization." - As mentioned
    on TechNet.
I wonder how a non-technical business analyst can use Report Builder 3 to create ad-hoc reports/analysis with list of parameters based on other data sets.
Do they need to learn TSQL or how to add and link parameter in Report Builder? then How they can add parameter into a report. Not sure what i am missing from whole idea behind Report builder then?
I have SQL Server 2012 STD and Report Builder 3.0  and want to train non-technical users to create reports as per their need without asking to IT department.
Everything seems simple and working except parameters with list of values e.g. Sales year List, Sales Month List, Gender etc. etc.
So how they can configure parameters based on Other data sets?
Workaround in my mind is to create a report with most of columns and add most frequent parameters based on other data sets and then non-technical user modify that report according to their needs but that way its still restricting users to
    a set of defined reports?
I want functionality like "Excel Power view parameters" into report builder which is driven from source data and which is only available Excel 2013 onward which most of people don't have yet.

    Hi Asam,
If we want to create a parameter depend on another dataset, we can additional create or add the dataset, embedded or shared, that has a query that contains query variables. Then use the option that “Get values from a
query” to get available values. For more details, please see:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd283107.aspx

  • Report Builder 3.0 launch issue in SharePoint Integration mode

    Hello,
I'm facing issue when opening the report builder 3.0 tool. Report server is configured in SharePoint Integration mode. I already have the FQDN configured for report server and in SharePoint (AAM) but still it fails when the end user is trying to access
    the report builder 3.0.
    Just to brief on the instance setup;
    SQL box setup
    1. Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard/Enterprise edition with latest service packs and updates
    2. SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition with all features except Reporting Services installed and configured
    3. SQL Engine and Agent are configured in service account (domain account)
    Web box Setup
    1. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard/Enterprise edition with latest service packs and updates
    2. IIS enabled with all the features
    3. SharePoint Foundation 2010 with SP2 installed in advanced mode and the database server is mentioned as above
    4. Farm is configured with domain account (farm account)
    5. Default site is configured with domain account (site account)
    6. Authentication used for default site is NT domain accounts
    7. AAM is setup for default site to use the FQDN (server.domain.com)
    8. SQL reporting services is installed (only) with service account (same account used which is configured in the SQL engine and agent in database server)
    9. Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint Foundation 2010 is installed
    10. Reporting Services is configured to use the FQDN, email settings is configured
    11. SharePoint Foundation 2010 is configured to use the Reporting Services (General Application Settings) by granting the access to database, integration the report server URL with windows authentication (used the SQL reporting services service account)
    12. Report Web services when clicked, open the Reporting Services window properly where it shows the SharePoint default site URL and on click shows the proper folders configured for use for reporting services
    13. Report Builder launch URL is specified as /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0).application
    14. IIS restart done, SQL Reporting Services restart done, even web server reboot done
    15. When supplied the URL in browser as
http://server.domain.com/_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0).application it start the clickonce window but after this immediately throws the error message as below.
    16. Also, I tried to open the Report Builder 1.0
http://server.domain.com/_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder.application it fails with same error message.
    17. After debugging several times, I am unable to resolve the issue.
    18. I tried re-installing the Reporting Services (first uninstalled, then reboot, then folder cleanup, then install Reporting Services) but no hopes and the issues remains same as "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."
    19. Also, I tried with the fresh machine, wiped out the VM, installed OS, IIS, SharePoint Foundation 2010, SQL Reporting Services, etc. again no luck, the issue remains same as "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."
