CF9 w/ Solaris 10 (Sparc, 64-bit): Problems with mod_jrun22.so

Hi
We're running a Solaris (Sparc) box and installed Apache 2.2.16 and ColdFusion9 on our system. When starting ColdFusion the first time, the shell script "apache_connector.sh" installs the mod_jrun22.so (must be the successor of mod_coldfusion.so) and adds the required section in the httpd.conf file just fine. (well, after fixing the script... ^^)
The problem arises when starting Apache next time:
httpd: Syntax error on line 414 of /usr/local/httpd-2.2.16/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /opt/coldfusion9/runtime/lib/wsconfig/1/mod_jrun22.so into server:
ld.so.1: httpd: fatal: libgcc_s.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory
Apparently, this module was compiled with gcc, which we didn't install on our Sun system.
Does anyone know whether there's a module available which doesn't depend on gcc libraries under Solaris?
So far we've compiled everything with Suns compiler Sun Studio 12.0. The reason behind this is that we're using CFX-tags and our shared library usesĀ  C/C++ and embedded SQL for Oracle 11g (yes, we're old school ^^). And since Oracle 11g officially only supports Sun Studio 12.0 when using embedded SQL, we're trying to compile everything with this compiler.
Sure we could install gcc (or at least a runtime-component containing libgcc_s.so.1), but I'm wondering now whether we'll run into problems later when using our C++ library which was compiled with Sun Studio 12.0.
Could anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks!
Daniel

We have our EBS 12.0.6 on Sun Solaris SPARC 64 bit. There are few hp printer (hp laserjet p2015dn) configured with our application and they are working fine.
Now we have to add one more printer but ( hp laserjet p2015dn) is not available now.
So please suggest the hp laserjet printer available for Solaris 10 Sparc 64 bit.You already have the same type of printer configured and it is working properly, so I would say it is supported.
What is the difference between the two printers configuration?
Can you print from the OS to the new printer?
What do you mean by "not available now"?
Thanks,
Hussein

There is a note # 833665.1 on this which states "The issue is caused by the Host Storage metrics collected by the agent" and also a Patch 8477122 has been created for this issue.
However, there is nothing mention in the Note # 833665.1 about the following one message.

    1. whats the significance of the "oracle[7332]: [ID 566193 user.error] n2a get_local_info: ioctl (get interface flags): Interrupted system call" message in the OS log?
    2. Does this message get stops on applying of patch # 8477122 ?
    Thank you,

There are a number of known issues with the 10g agent on Solaris and patches are available. I assume you are running the 10.2.0.5 agent since you reference patch 8477122. If this is a brand new agent installation i would start with applying the latest PSU update which contains many related fixes. If you are still getting the error after this, open an SR with Oracle Support with your specific error message.

  • 10.2.0.3 on solaris 9(Sparc 64 bit), patch 5257399 needed or not?

We are going to install oracle 10.2.0.3 on a Solaris 9 (Sparc 64 bit) box. According to Note 406472.1, Mandatory Patch 5752399 is needed for 10.2.0.3 on Solaris 64-bit and Filesystems Managed By Veritas or Solstice Disk Suite software. Our system is not on SAN, only local disks, so I'm sure we don't use veritas file system. But I'm not sure if we still use Solstice Disk Suite software. Sun said that in Solaris 9, Solstice Disk Suite is renamed to Solaris volume manager and it is bundled in Solaris 9. Does this mean Solaris 9 is using Solstice Disk Suite by default and we have to apply patch 5752399?
How can I verify which file manager we are using? (Our sys adm is not quite sure).
If we apply the patch no matter we really need it or not, what impact to the system?
    Please advise. Thanks!

I found by issue "mount -v" that our disk slices are
UFS type. So we don't need apply patch 5257399,

We need to run an Oracle server that needs a Virtual Frame Buffer. We need to set DISPLAY variable set on the system. Opening an xhost is not a solution for us because it is not in the security policy.
Any pointers or docs are appreciated.

  • Install newest JRE on Solaris 9 Sparc (64-bit)

Note: This message has also been posted on the JRE forum. This is the second attempt to post it here.
I would like to know the best method to replace the JRE that is installed with a Solaris 9 (SPARC) installation. A clean installation of Solaris 9 comes with JRE 1.4 and I would prefer 1.4.1 (64-bit) or newer. Sun provides self-extracting archive downloads of the latest JREs for Solaris, but I have been unsuccessful in using these. I followed the instructions at:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/install-solaris.html
for doing a self-extracting installation, but this does not replace the contents of /usr/j2se with the new JRE. Additionally a pkginfo still points to the old JRE. I also read the instructions at:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/install-solaris-64.html
which stated I should install the 32-bit version, and then the 64-bit version. Finally, both set of instructions mention installation from packages, yet I am unable to find the packages to download. What is the best method to remove the JRE from a Solaris installation and install a newer version of the JRE so the pkginfo is updated and the new JRE resides in /usr/j2se? Any assistance is appreciated.

  • [Answered] List of patches for Solaris 10 SPARC 64 bit!

    Hi All,
Installation document for 10g Release 2 (10.2) for Solaris Operating System (SPARC 64-Bit) does not mention anything about patches required on Solaris 10 (there is a list for Solaris 8 and 9).
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b15690/pre_install.htm#sthref110
Can I safely assume that the installation of Solaris 10 contains all the required patches in this case?
    Thanks,
Edited by: Satish Kandi on Nov 19, 2008 10:21 AM

    Hi Satish,
I did not have access to ORACLE metalink so could not able check the doc which you reffered. But Checked the ORACLE installation doc, I suppose that is the required patches for 8 and 9 which you have to make sure of on Solaris 10.
Other wise wait and see for other inputs too.
Hemanth might reply back some thing.

  • CTM 8.0 Solaris 10 Sparc-64 Installation Problems

I am installing CTM 8.0 on a Solaris 10, Sparc 64 Sun Server/Workstation. I am having a problem installing the CTM, I installed Oracle 9i with no problems(that I know of) with patch 9.2.0.8. When I go to start the ctmsetup.sh it checks for the latest version of JRE, which is fine, however it says that I don't have the Solaris patches for JRE and it lists them. Well the patches I have are more up to date then those listed so when I tried to install the patches they listed it said that they were obsoleted by what I have already. Secondly it gives the message "Starting Cisco CTM Server Installation using Install Anywhere" but then the next line says "You pressed Cancel/Upgrade/Install" when I hadn't pressed anything, and it just stays there. Your help is much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Hi, how you setup oracle 9.2.0.8 patch?? I tried
    cd /oraclesw9i/Disk1
./runInstaller -silent -responseFile /oraclesw9i/patchset_64bit_9208.rsp but, with key -silent i have an error: cannot communicate with X server, on my WinXP workstation?

  • JRE 6.0 update 1 for Solaris 10 sparc 64 bit

Will jre 6.0 come out as a patch for Solaris 10
sparc? Or should I install it from the Java download
    site (http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp)? I
currently have jre 5.0.11 (patches 118666-11 and
118667-11).Yes, it's out for 6u1, or should be out by now, as sparc (125136-01 & 125137-01)
    and x86 (125138-01 & 125139-01).
You cannot patch your way from 5.0 to 6. You need to install the 6 packages, and then you can install the 6u1 patch. (or you could just install the 6u1 packages, and patch from that point onward).
As to the later question, yes, there isn't a formal JRE patch, but SUNWj6rt is essentially the runtime component of the JDK, so if you just had SUNWj6rt & SUNWj6cfg installed, you would have the equivalent of a JRE, though it still would be installed in a JDK directory. If you have just those two packages installed, then you could use 125136-01 as a JRE patch, since it will only update what installed. Oh yes, I forgot about the 64bit component to the runtime, SUNWj6rtx. If you intend on running the JRE in 64bit mode (-d64), you'd need SUNWj6rtx as well.

  • Solaris 10 (sparc) disk utilities problems

I'm running Solaris 10 (1/06) on an E450 with 1.5G RAM, 4 300Mhz US-2's. And am having a devil of a time partioning my unmounted spare drives that I'm trying to use to set up Raid 1 and Raid 5. I am logged on as the root user. This is a system I just rebuilt this weekend. I had the same problems with it in the previous build S10 (3/05). I can partition the drives any way I wish during the build process. It's just once I have the server built I can't figure it out.
The drives are a mix of:
    Seagate ST336704LC <SUN36G>
    Seagate ST336605LC <SUN36G>
I have tried using SMC with the following results: If I try to partition the disks (4 or 7 partitions) the drive manager will let me do 2 or 4 of the partitions then simply cease to proceed when the NEXT button is pushed. Also using the SMC if I right click, then do properties on a partition SMC will hang, also if I doubleclick on any partition, mounted or unmounted.
Using the terminal commands Format, Partition, Modify I can change the size of partitions but this does not allow me to Tag the partitions. I can not configure partitions any other way. If I try to modify the partitions using format-partition-"part#" then save infomation, it will be lost when I exit the terminal session.
Any guidance on what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Found it... was not doing 'label' after making my changes. All better and root mirroring has been successful.
