Cfdocument type pdf - image

I am trying to get an image to display from side to side on a
pdf from cfdocument. I have left/right margins at 0 and the image
is fully 8.5" wide but I still get a right/left margin on the
display. Is this even possible??

Does adding the following code at the top force IE's hand?
<cfheader name="Content-Disposition" value="inline;
filename=myDoc.pdf">
<cfcontent type="application/pdf">

  • The Refiner Result type: When refine by result type: PDF or Zip sometimes files which are images are shown (not pdf or zip)

    Hi,
    We use Search Refiners and there is a strange problem: when we refine by the Refiner Result type: Zip and PDF we also get files which are gif files.
    keren tsur

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you get the gif files sometimes when you refiner the Result Type PDF or ZIP.
    I try to do this test in my environment, however, the result is I get the corresponding PDF file and don’t get the gif files by Refiner the PDF Result Type in Search Center.
    Do you get all gif files by the Refiner Result Type: PDF or ZIP in Search Center?
    And, do you see these gif files under the Refiner Result Type: Image?
    I recommend that you can try to respectively type the “PDF”, “ZIP” and “gif” in search box to compare the search results.
    Also, you can try to go to SharePoint 2013 Central Administration, click “Search Service Application” in “Manage service application”, click the “Index Reset” to reset all crawled content, then start Full Crawl again.

  • PDF image format?

    From what I understand, the PDF file format can contain text, vector graphics and raster graphics in many different formats. When I print to a PDF (via Save as PDF... in the print dialog box), what type of image format is actually used inside the PDF (which I assume is just a container format, really)?
    Say I come across a full quality RAW file from a 10-megapixel camera. If I open that image in an image editor and then print it as a PDF, what ends up in the PDF file? Is it a JPEG? A PNG? Some type of otherwise unknown lossless format?
    I assume the screenshot mechanism in OS X that saves to PDF uses similar technology. In that case, is a screenshot saved as a PDF better or worse quality than a PNG or JPEG (using a utility like TinkerTool to change the default screenshot format)?

    Actually, it doesn't matter what you set on a folio level. The article settings override the folio settings. The folio settings are supposed to appear as the default when you create articles, but it doesn't work that way at this time.

  • Signature with .pdf image only?

    I have created a fillable form using Adobe Pro XI.  The form can be filled out using Reader and
    users can put in their digital ID signatures into the blocks I created for
    that.  However, going through the process
    of signing the form, the only option for a scanned in image of a hand written
    signature is a .pdf file.  Guess I
    thought any type file such as jpegs, bitmaps, etc. could be used.  The problem with the .pdf file is our users
    cannot crop this type of image down to just the signature using Reader.  So, when the image is placed into the
    signature block, it is the whole 8.5x11 page.
    Can’t really see the signature.  I
    tested some other fillable forms for Reader found online from other sources and
    it I is the same thing.  Can only use
    .pdf  file as the signature image.  Is there another way to do this?  Am I missing something?

    Reader only allows signatures from pdf files, Acrobat from other files. When scanning their signature they should be able to scan to a custom size page or use a graphics program to crop the scanned image even if it is a pdf. The Mac Preview program is capable of cropping pdfs. The only graphics program I use on Windows is Photoshop, which can do the job, but it is certainly what I would call overkill for the job. Perhaps ImageJ or Gimp can do the job of cropping.

  • Cfdocument format = PDF - does not format correctly

    Greetings
    I am simply attempting to print invoices from a query that displays correctly on the cfm result page, but using cfdocument to render a PDF version (to mail out) does not format even remotely close to the cfm page.
    I tried every conceivable method I know of, including:
    Formating the cfm page (via CSS and hardcoded table width) to be 612 px X 792 px (8.5 X 11 in), and here is the cfdocument code:
    <cfdocument
    format="pdf"
    pageType="custom"
    unit="in"
    marginbottom="0.75"
    marginleft="0.75"
    marginright="0.75"
    margintop="0.75"
    pageHeight="11"
    pageWidth="8.5"
    mimeType="text/html"
    fontembed="yes"
    orientation="portrait">
    <style type="text/css">
    @import url(css/moorings.css);
    </style>
    <html> blah blah </html>
    </cfdocument>
    The rendered PDF file is 4.5 X 5 in- (both in IE and Firefox) What am I missing here?
    CF 9
    Thanks in advance, as always.

    Well, in answer to my own question, the solution is in the CSS, using tables and CSS:
    set table height and width to 100%
    set font-size:100%;
    set header font, bolder, larger :125%;, etc.
    Also using the cfdocument attributes as shown in the posting
    The PDF now prints correctly, margins are perfect.
    Now I have to figure out how to loop through the 900+ records, convert each to a PDF and print one copy of each-
    Anyone?
    Thanks....

  • Unable to display a PDF image on the page - Mac 10.6

    Hi,
    Running an iMac with 10.6.8 and Indesign 5.0.4. Just wanting to export a PDF as per usual via File > Export function. However, I keep getting the error message, "Unable to display a PDF image on the page'. No idea what this is and have never seen this error before. The only info on the internet reveals error code 0x2511(9489).
    I've deleted prefs, closed down and re-opened Indesign and even restarted the computer. I've also re-linked the images contained in the document and even created a new document and set it up the same, but still the same problem. Investigating further, other Indesign documents still export properly.
    The only ones that don't export are 2 documents, both giving this same error message. Both documents are ones where a client has sent a PDF, I've imported into two of these into an 2-page A4 Indesign document (each PDF is 48MB each) and then just added a text layer (using Times) which is properly installed on the computer. I basically have to 'update' course dates for the client and add PDF to the website, all very basic.
    I've tried importing a jpeg and other PDFs into the file (replacing the existing ones) and they export fine.
    All my software is legal and I've exported this document before now in exactly the same File > Export without any problems (under 10.5 and 10.6).
    OK... I've just imported the offending PDFs into Acrobat, optimized and shrunk the file size, re-imported back to Indesign and the PDF export works fine. So it seems InDesign / PDF Export doesn't like large imported PDFs? I think they were originally exported from Publisher, so maybe that's the problem or a file conflict somehow.
    Any ideas on the culprit? I've googled it, searched these forums and Apple discussions and haven't found anything. Although I've found a workaround, I do get large files to import and then export. Thanks for any help
    Steve

    It does sound like a problem with the original PDF files the client sent you. You can check how they were made in Acrobat Pro from the Additional MetaData button on the Description tab of the document properties dialog. It will be under Advanced at the bottom of the list when the metadata opens.
    You might be able to salvage them by running the optimzer and not changing the size, or just doing a Save As in Acrobat.

  • How to read ZIP files(having PDFs,Image) using MQ Series link for R/3

    Hi,
    1)Is it possible to transfer a zip file (having an image or pdf) using IDocs in SAP 4.6C using MQ Series link for R/?
    Scenario: "MQ Series link for R/3" converts Business-Reports from a third-party software,into SAP IDocs.Each Business-Report contains one XML file and one ZIP file.
    2)Being on ABAP side,do I have to worry about how the zip file would be converted into IDocs?
    Detailed descrption:
    This scenario requires integration of a non-SAP software which talks in XML with SAP R/3(4.6C).The customer has decided to go with 'MQ Series link for R/3' (which integrates any non-SAP application running on IBM MQ Series to R/3,by converting data(in any format) into IDocs).He is not ready to go for XI.
    The Problem area is a functionality which requires the non-SAP software to send XML file along with an attached Zip file.So,XML document,basically,has a 'zippedFile' XML element having actual file in XML keyword 'file'.
    This XML document ideally, should be converted by the subsystem(MQSeries link for R/3) into IDocs i.e. into a stream which could be stored in a table on R/3 side and later, sent back to the non-SAP software through MQ Series link to be converted into zip-file again with corresponding pdfs,images.I want someone who has worked in a similar scenario to confirm this.

    Hi,
    I have a feeling I have posted this question in the wrong forum or maybe I will let you decide this.Any help would be appreciated (even the right forum name).

  • PDF images distorted in Keynote 6.0

    When I Open a presentation created in Keynote V5.3 with Keynote 6.0, some PDF images look fine in th editor but become aliased and pixellated when displayed in presentation mode. If I copy the image from Keynote, save it to the desktop and then open it in Preview I see the same distortion. Is there
    a workaround for this.
    Joseph Ayers

    Thank you so much. I didn't know that shortcut and it fixed it right away. I was surprised that when I went back to the section that all of those slide were only a small portion of the page. It's almost like the white part of the slide got bigger so the actual slide information shrunk. Obviously I hit something in my frustration that changed the slide size, but luckily it will be easy to replace. Great response to my question and much appreciated!

  • JPG or PDF image in Portfolio window

    How do you remove the JPG or PDF image from the top right of a Portfolio window?
    I'm using Acrobat X10.1.1 on an iMac with Mac OS X 10.7.2

    I created a PDF Portfolio using the Wave layout. I added a few frames with a name and description.
    I do not want to delete the image, I would like to remove the small jpg or pdf logo that appears on the picture (image) in the top right hand corner. The logo appears in both the Layout Mode and the Edit Mode. When I emailed the portfolio to myself the small logo was still in the picture.
    Thanks….

  • How to convert PDF image to excel sheet

    Hi,
        I am trying to convert the PDF image /Text file to Excel sheet then I need to use that data for my reports
    Can you please let me know
    1) How I can convert the PDF into a excel sheet
    2) Which s/w i need to use for that(adobe s/w)
    3) do need to purchse any other 3rd pary s/w to use this
    s/w - software
    PDF Image - scanned document in the image format
    Regards
    Shrinivas

    You need Acrobat Standard or Pro to convert the scanned image to readable text (OCR) and then save it as a Excel file (if Acrobat recognizes that it's a table, which I doubt it will). Maybe there are some 3rd party plugins that can help you further.

  • How can I upload a PDF image with out it going grainy

I  have made a PDF image of what I want to write but each time I upload it it becomes grainy. If I save it as a PNG or TIFF it is still grainy - even if I reduce the file size to the required number of pixels - please help me!

  • OCR Exact is doing weird cut and paste to original PDF image

    Using Acrobat 7, I am scanning old typewritten documents, most on legal sized paper.  When I run “OCR exact” on them to create searchable text (hidden text) behind the original image, the original image (on top of the hidden text) changes.  Specifically, Acrobat takes part of the original PDF image and copies it at the bottom of the original PDF image.  When I have the document displayed in full screen, I can sit there and watch the image change at the bottom when the OCR completes running.  It always changes the bottom of the PDF by taking a small snapshot of part of the PDF from somewhere else in the PDF and repeating it at the bottom.  I have seen it take a chunk from the top of the document and repeat it at the bottom, and I have seen it take a chunk of the document from the middle and repeat it at the bottom.  The “repeated part” will sometimes start at the very end (not covering original text), and sometimes start an inch or two from the end (thus covering some original text).  It only seems to happen on documents that were typewritten.  Scans of documents created after the invention of word processors don’t end up having the problem I am describing.
    Anyone know what is happening and how to correct it?  Thank you.

    Hi stpippin,
    I am not sure what you are trying to do. Numbers works best with several small tables, each with a purpose. Rather than copying formulas to another part of a table, you can create another table with a new purpose.
    Table 1 contains values (typed in, pasted in, or calculated from elsewhere):
    Fruit
    Value
    Apple
    99
    Banana
    98
    Cherry
    97
    Date
    96
    Eugenia
    95
    Fig
    94
    Grape
    93
    Table 2
    Fruit
    Value
    Apple
    99
    Banana
    98
    Cherry
    97
    Date
    96
    Eugenia
    95
    Fig
    94
    Grape
    93
    A2 contains this formula (and Fill Down and Right)
    =Table 1::A2
    Select cells A2 to B8 and copy. Then paste into Table 3:
    Fruit
    Value
    Apple
    99
    Banana
    98
    Cherry
    97
    Date
    96
    Eugenia
    95
    Fig
    94
    Grape
    93
    Formula in Table 3::A2 becomes
    =Table 1::A2
    Now you have another table that duplicates Table 2. What do you want to do with it?
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • How to make single file from multiple PDF image?

    Hi, it's my first question in SCN.
    I promise my efforts for developing this site.
    Lately, I made multiple PDF image by function 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'.(each spool ID)
    And I wanna make single .PDF file by merging these image in server directory(not local PC).
    So I tried it following.
    1. Each internal table resulted from CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF append one internal table.
       BL_PDF + MF_PDF → PDF
    2. Excute following command.
      OPEN DATASET P_FILE FOR OUTPUT MESSAGE LV_MSG IN BINARY MODE.
      IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
        LOOP AT PDF.
          MOVE PDF TO FIELD.
          TRANSFER FIELD TO P_FILE.
          CLEAR PDF.
        ENDLOOP.
        CLOSE DATASET P_FILE.
      ENDIF.
    But files was not merged, only last image was made as .PDF file instead.
    How can I do it?
    Thank you.

    Hi Sangrok,
    Instead of preparing PDF multiple times, you can combine all the OTF data and then finally convert it into PDF. For saving the PDF onto application server, you can refer following report.

  • Problem with manipulating PDF images in Keynote

    Hi,
    I am using LaTeXiT to insert equations (in PDF format) into Keynote. Note this is the only vector format that really works. Creating equations and dragging them onto a slide works fine, but then it is difficult to select and manipulate them on the slide.
    I have inserted other PDF images and run into the same problems, so it seems that this is a bug with Keynote. I have tried to reinstall Keynote but to no avail.
    Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks!

    it is difficult to select and manipulate them on the slide.
    What exactly is the difficulty are you haveing?
    The only adjustments you can make to a PDF file placed in Keynote is to position and size the image.
    If you click on the image to select it, 8 bounding box handles will show, ( small black squares ) you can then click and drag them to resize. Click anywhere on the image to place it anywhere on the screen.
