CFE max. number of user

Hi,
How many users can one CFE support?
There are old document saying that CFE can support 30 concurrent users  on a P III server. Is it still true for better server such as 4-core server?
Thank you

30 users for a P-III system is quite an outdated number indeed.
We often see numbers higher numbers than this and with enough cores and memory you can reach hundreds of concurrent connections which utilize all the cores on your system (you can use the linux top command and hit the 1 key - you'll notice how the compression engine uses all the cores on your system)
You can find newer numbers in our presentations:

  • 1142N bandwidth throughput and max number of users

Im using AIR-LAP1142N-N-K9 access points (it supports b/g/n). Somestimes the AP has up to 80 users connect to it.
SOme recommends the AP should have between 25-35 users max.
Any one know the recommend maximum number of users connect to a AP? And how can you tell the traffic going through the AP is congested?
    Cheers

SOme recommends the AP should have between 25-35 users max.
Cisco recommends no more than 25 authenticated users.  Maybe the 80 users are both authenticated (can go to the internet) and associated (not able to).
Remember that wireless is like a hub:  When one client talks, everyone stops to listen and waits for their turn.

  • Max number of concurrent users?

I'm in the process of creating a web site with Cold Fusion and
Oracle. One concern involves the lack of web hosting services
that run Oracle on their servers. So, to get around this
problem, I was considering replicating an Oracle lite database
and putting it on an ISP's server. My thinking is that there
would be little need of DBA functions and I can run it on any
    server I choose. But ....
    1. Would Oracle 8i lite support a lot of concurrent users?
    2. What other factors would I have to consider if I set it up
    as a distributed DB ?
Any help on these thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to change the max number of the user session?

    Hello,
The max number of the user session of my system is 6,I want to change it,how should I do?

    Hi Begue,
This can be done by changing the value of profile paramter rdisp/max_alt_modes. Currently its value in your system must have been set to 6. You can check the value through transaction RZ11. To change it use transaction RZ10.
For knowing the details of changing values in RZ11 please visit :

  • Max no. of users connections in essbase

    Hi All,
How can i find what is the max. no. of users connections is allowed for essbase. If there is some setting in EAS console or we can define it through MAXL. We are using very old version (version 6- using ESSCMD commands). We have already provided access to about 475 users. 200 more users are waiting for access.
    Thanks,
    Anchit

Herewith the relevant parameter you can define in your ESSBASE.CFG - it should answer your question:
    MAXLOGINS
Sets a limit on the number of user sessions that can be connected to the Essbase Server at any one time.
    Syntax
    MAXLOGINS n
n Any integer from 1000 to 1048575 is valid. The default value is 10000.
    Description
This setting limits the maximum number of user sessions allowed to connect to the Essbase Server at any one time. This number includes multiple instances of the same user.
You may wish to adjust the value of MAXLOGINS to match computer resources, or to more closely manage concurrent ports and user sessions. A concurrent port is used for each unique combination of client machine, Essbase Server and login name. For example, the same user > with five open Excel worksheets connected to the same Essbase Server use one port, but five sessions.
    Notes
Increasing the value of MAXLOGINS increases memory use approximately 6 bytes per user session.
If the setting is less than the minimum value, 1000, the value is assumed to be 1000.
    Example
    MAXLOGINS 50000
increases the maximum number of simultaneous logins possible, from the default of 10000 to 50000. > Kind regards

  • Max number of persons in contact groups - Nokia Lu...

The max number of persons allowed in a contact group is (as far as I know) restricted to 20 persons. This seems very low and I wonder why this restriction is applied. A limitation of 20 persons in a group is not practical. Any explanation or any idea if this can be changed in the future?

As you've discovered the maximum number of contacts you can have in a contact group is 20.  If you'd like this limit to be changed to a higher number you really should post a request or add your votes to a similar request on Microsoft's user voice fo....  This is the place that Microsoft created to field user requests for enhanced options for windows phone.

  • Limiting the number of users/connections

We currently have a very large user community (120000)who will be accessing the portal for ESS/MSS functionality.
We would like to limit the number of users to around 20000. Any more connections should get a nice error message (rather than a standard IE no more connections or a time out message).
We can obviously throttle the number of connections via the load balancer or via max connections in unix. Is there any method in the Portal itself, that will automatically direct the users to a seperate web page in the event of pre determined number of users/connections being reached.
I have search high and low but can't find a solution.
    Thanks in advance
    Fenton

    Hi Tim,
No, there is nothing like this as a standard functionality within the portal. Similar requests are regulary asked on SDN (like: restrict the number of users logging in as you ask, restrict the number of parallel logins of one user, and things like this).
A possibility would be to implement your own login module which tries to check how many users are online. All techniques - independent if on portal or on WAS side - that try to count this have the problem that they cannot be sure who is "online" as you have no definite information if a user is online or not; one can only use more or less heuristic methods.
    Hope it helps

  • The max number of simultaneous active connections

Hi. We have a 4x NT server running Weblogic 4.5.1 with the performance pack
enabled. We can only get about 7 or 8 active simultaneous connections in our
tests (using LoadRunner with 50 users). The app server log, on startup,
records that 8 native threads are assigned to the server. We are wondering
if there is a relationship here.
We have bumped up the "executeThreadCount" value from the default of 15 and
    have not seen any change.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rob.
We are running on a 100Mbps network. It is alot of data though.
The servlet is to just drive our the backend components so we can have some
idea of their performance without the rest of the system there. We are still
seeing the same behavior with it. We are switching to a scenario with more
of our midtier components in place. This setup uses a JSP page that drives
an EJB that is the interface to the system.
There is still a possibility though that a servlet may come into play in
    some scenarios.

the same behavior as the one that actually drives our stuff (that isabout
    35 TPS).
35K is a relatively large servlet response. Is this typical for your
application? Also, if I understand correctly, you are sending 35K / tx ** 35

The round trip (a transaction) is from load runner to the servlet (via a

    Hi Rob.
Yes its a 4 CPU NT server.
The connections are not refused. They all get accepted, but only 7-8
    are
actively being serviced, while the others wait. Can you provide some more detail about your architecture? Forinstance,
what is Load Runner measuring (ie what does a round-trip entail, what
    is a
    transaction?)
    -- Rob
The CPUs are not busy. I
believe the max CPU utilization that has been recorded is around
    60%,
    but
its often lower (performance recoding is done using PerfMon). Our
    main
concern is that we cannot max out the CPUs, so something isthrottling
    things.
In the tests we can get about 30-34 transactions per second (tps)with a
transaction being a round trip recorded by Load Runner. The 30 tpsvalue
    is
pretty consistent. If we crank up the number of users (say to 150)
    we
    still
get 30 tps, but the time for a transaction increases rather
    dramatically
    (to
over 10 seconds). The CPU utilization never really changes. The 30
    tps
    value
is also very consistent over time. We've run some 10 hour tests.
I was wrong on the "executeThreadCount" not making a difference. I
    found
    out
that increasing it to 50 from the default of 15 bumped up thetransaction
rate initially but only by a couple of percent. The rate fell afterawhile
back down to the magic 30 tps range. The fellow running the test
    tried
    an
executeThreadCount value of 300 once and saw no real affect.
    Thanks for your time.

You don't say which version of the database you are using. In 10gR2 the maximum limit on users and roles is 2,147,483,638.
I think this is more users than any sensible DBA would want to manager :)

  • How to change the max number of member display in Target Group

    Dear Experts,
We are using 2007 CRM Marketing.
When I search and open a Target Group it displays me maximum of 100 entries of members over 11 pages. how do I increase or decrease the max number.
    Appricate you help.

    Hi,
you can set the number of members that will be displayed in target group.
Go to any profile group -> open the graphical modelling -> open settings.
Here you can ajust the displayed number of members in a targetgroup.
These settings are user-dependent and saved in table CRMD_MKTTG_PERS.

  • Max number of file descriptors in 32 vs 64 bit compilation

    Hi,
I compiled a simple C app (with Solaris CC compiler) that attempts to open 10000 file descriptors using fopen(). It runs just fine when compile in 64-bit mode (with previously setting ulimit S -n 10000).
However, when I compile it in 32-bit mode it fails to open more than 253 files. Call to system(ulimit a) suggests that nofiles (descriptors) 10000.
Did anybody ever see similar problem before?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mikhail

On 32-bit Solaris, the stdio "FILE" struct stores the file descriptor (an integer) in an 8-bit field. WIth 3 files opened automatically at program start (stdin, stdout, stderr), that leaves 253 available file descriptors.
This limitation stems from early versions of Unix and Solaris, and must be maintained to allow old binaries to continue to work. That is, the layout of the FILE struct is wired into old programs, and thus cannot be changed.
When 64-bit Solaris was introduced, there was no compatibility issue, since there were no old 64-bit binaries . The limit of 256 file descriptors in stdio was removed by making the field larger. In addition, the layout of the FILE struct is hidden from user programs, so that future changes are possible, should become necessary.
To work around the limit, you can play some games with dup() and closing the original descriptor to make it available for use with a new file, or you can arrange to have fewer than the max number of files open at one time.
A new interface for stdio is being implemented to allow a large number of files to be open at one time. I don't know when it will be available or for which versions of Solaris.

  • Max Number of Procurement Proposal for a date

We have scenario where a user has changed fixed lot size for a material 11,70,000 to 1 Pc. As result more than 2 Million Purchase requisitions got created by MRP. Is there any standard config settings, where we can maintain max number of procurement proposal for given date or demand. So that we can prevent such occurances in future.

    Hello Amit.
The materials planning creates a large number of order proposals in the amount of the fixed lot size for this one request for a fixed lot size (lot-sizing procedure 'FX') with a large number of requests and a small number of fixed lot sizes.
In Customizing for the plant parameters of materials planning (transaction OPPQ, table T399D) you can set a parameter for the maximum number of order proposals that are created by materials planning for a requirements date.
The materials planning of this material terminates regularly if the maximum number is exceeded. An error document with error message E098 is generated. This way you can prevent that the MRP run terminates if the lot-sizing procedure is set unfavorably.

  • Max number of entries in the variable input list (F4) of Bex Analyzer Query

    Dear BW experts,
When I run the Bex Analyzer query, it pops up the variable input screen.
If I don't know the specific value of the variable, then I can click on the input help (F4) to get a list of available values.  There is a max number of entries coming back to the list.  For my BW system, it is currently returning 500 values.  For other people and SAP Help document, it could be 1000.
My question is: Do you know where we can configure/set this max value? Is it a global setting?
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.
    Kevin-

    Murali & Pra,
Thanks for both of your answers.  I think the answers that you provided are for BW 7.X version.
It is flexible and exactly the way it should be for each user to customize a specific variable.
I am running BW 3.5 query, and don't see the "Settings" option/button after I got the list of single values back.
Is there a way to set this up for BW 3.5 query Analyzer?  My max value is always 500 for all variables.  Is there a place for setting this value and save for the next time.
Any help from any BW experts is appreciated.
