CfLayout tabs are being truncated in IE 9

After installing IE 9 I've noticed that my cflayout tabs are now being truncated. They look file in IE 8, FF and Chrome, but in 9 some of the tabs are truncated (exampl...). Has anyone else had this problem or come across a solution for this?
Please no IE bashing, my app has to work for all major browsers =/

Fixed. Hold ctrl + MouseWheelDown. IE was zoomed in... >.<

None of the cross tabs are being exported to Excel

Hi All,
I am experiencing a strange problem of export failing when any of the cross tab is exported. It comes out with a message,
"An error occurred while trying to export the Worksheet.
(Export failed.) "
This is occuring in Plus and Viewer.
But All the tables are being exported without any problem.
Any Idea ???

Only iTunes purchases may copy over via File > Transfer Purchases - otherwise syncing is one way, from the computer to the device. To get the rest of your music/films etc onto the new computer you can copy the backup from your old computer onto the new one and then load them into iTunes

How to find out whether the transaction logs are being truncated or not

Hi,
We are using Veritas Backup tool for Backups and restores on our MS SQL 2000.
One of our Veritas Tech has disabled the Truncation of Transaction Log Backup using the Job setup in Veritas. We want to confirm whether the Truncation is happening or not. I don't see any difference in the Transaction Log file size.
How to find out whether truncation is active or not?

Hello Vijay,
On MSSQL truncation of transaction log does not shrink the size of the transaction log. It simply removes the content within the transaction log and writes it to the backup.
Meaning the free percentage within the transaction log will increase.
If you want to Resize the transaction log size, you need to do something else.

My tabs are being hijacked. Under page info shows: chrome://msdsd/content/newtab/newtab.html

I searched online to try and find out what above hijack item is & how it can take over on any
page I tab. (I fixed my home page, and removed a toolbar line it also created).
I went into all the Firefox options, and check control panel add/remove programs to veryify there was no entry relating to Google, or Chrome or MSDSD.
Searched the web, There is no www.msdsd.com website, either. I have no idea where the hooks for this item are on my machine. If it is a program, I would delete it. If it is a setting I would change it.
Even attempted to block chrome:// on my firewall. Wish I could tell you how this got on my machine in the first place... Not having any luck getting a handle on this. Any ideas as to how to kill this items or where it originated from?

I tried following the other posts here, maybe I’m just dense! Here is the step by step way I got rid of the chrome hijack!
Go to: Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions
Disable “MySearchDial” and test that that cleared up your problem.
IF not for some reason, re-enable it, but I don’t think this will be the case.
If it does clean up the problem, remove the unwanted extension.

Long "Memo" in Treo650 being truncated in Outlook "Note"

While synchronizing with Outlook, the memos that are a bit long (big number of characters) are being truncated in the Notes of outlook. Same is happening to the Address, while i have one address with a long text in the "Note" section. This note section is truncated in the corresponding Outlook contact. Finally, the birthday of addresses is not showing in Outlook contacts. I am using Palm Desktop 6.2.2; Hotsync Manager 7.0.2; Conduit Sync with ourlook for Outlook 2007; Outlook 2007.

The error/issue is not with Acrobat. As you save the Word file as a PDF open the 'options' box and check the box 'Create bookmarks using headings'; all heading text should be displayed in the bookmark without truncation.

IOS7 - Select list text being truncated

Hi,
Can anyone tell me why long options in a select list (drop down) are being truncated? Is there a way to force such options to be all visible without truncating the text?
I have a responsive site, however on iPhones this text is being truncated while on Android and Windows Phone this works fine...

IMessages Being Truncated on iPhone But Not Other Devices

I recently discovered a bug where iMessages are being truncated on the iPhone. I had been messaging my friend using iMessage on my Mac. Everything was fine until my friend told me that my messages were being cut off on his iPhone. We verified that the messages were going through as iMessages, not SMS, and also verified that the messages were showing up correctly if he viewed them on his iPad. I went and checked my other devices are sure enough, the messages I sent were fine on my Mac and iPad but when I viewed my own messages on my iPhone, they too were truncated. Interestingly, if you copy and past the truncated message on the iPhone, the entire message is actually pasted so clearly this is a display problem, not a problem with the device actually receiving a truncated message.
I've never had this problem before but have only recently started using my Mac to send a lot of iMessages. It could be something with the way the Mac sends them and the iPhone receives them that is causing the problem, or that could be completely unrelated. I do know, however, that I've never received a complaint about a truncated message if I was sending a message from either my iPhone or iPad, only my Mac.
It's clearly a bug of some sort. Anyone else having this problem?

ffaubert, have you tried those test messages I have posted in that other thread?
This problem is totally repeatable (the same messages are always truncated every time for everybody), so it should be easy to test on 6.1 if you have it installed. For example, try these messages (typed in exactly, sent from a Mac to an iphone):
"You watching the game? We're coming back!"
"man, why are you here? Two are in testing places"
"That's funny that you though I was joking when I said I was debugging. Why is that so weird?"
(note that the last message has "thought" mispelled as "though")
I'd be thrilled to hear that the bug is gone. I don't have 6.1 installed to test, though.

Subject being truncated

I have had a couple users report subjects in emails they send are being truncated to 2 or 3 characters through webaccess. Anyone seen this behavior ? Gw2012 sp2 on oes11sp1.
The one I checked seemed to be sending to a user created group when it was truncated, but I can't tell for sure if this is related.

My open tabs are not being restored/remembered after closing

I have my settings set to "Show windows and tabs from last time", however for some reason its not working anymore. Whenever I close my tabs, Firefox warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs and when I reopen Firefox, I only get my homepage.
In the options menu, I've set the options to be "Show windows and tabs from last time" and in the Privacy setting, I have "Firefox will remember history", so I don't think its my settings.
I saw a thread about "browser.sessionstore* prefs" on a previous page that seemed to work for them, but all of my prefs seem to already be set to default (which is what was recommended), so I'm not sure what I should do there? I'm not tech savvy, so I dont feel comfortable mucking around with those settings when I dont really know what I'm doing, and they all seem to be set to default anyway.
Also, my 'restore previous session" and "restore recently closed tabs" are greyed out in the history section, so the only way I have to get my tabs back is to open "recently closed windows".
If anyone could please point me in the right direction to solving this it would be MUCH appreciated! I rely on this feature heavily, and am finding it really frustrating to not have easy access to my tabs from last session.

When updating to version 36, if you are updating from more than two versions before, the session file structure changed in your profile. This is now in sessionstore-backups folder. However this should not affect if updating from 35.
Are these also greyed out:
Recently Closed Tabs & Recently Closed Windows
It is greyed out "either due to:
* your startup setting ([[Startup, home page and download settings]])
* Firefox recovering from a crash during shutdown, or
* a user.js file overriding your normal startup setting (your system info doesn't show the third file, so I think we can rule that out)"
For future times that this may happen, the add on: session-manager is a nice backup to have.

A lot of memory is used when multiple tabs are open

Is there anything that can be done about the insane memory usage in Firefox when multiple tabs are open? I often have 20+ tabs open and the amount of RAM that Firefox uses when I have it open with this many tabs is just ridiculous. As an example of this, I just restarted Firefox after checking the Windows Task Manager. The Task manager said that Firefox was using 1.2 GB of RAM. I did have 32 tabs open, but this seems excessive even for this many tabs. Some of the tabs were image heavy, but none of them had any video in them. I'd think 10 MB per tab of RAM would be plenty to cover these kinds of pages, maybe 20 MB at most. The upper end of that range would be 640 MB of RAM. Instead, it appears to be using an average of 40 MB of RAM per page when this many tabs are open.
Is there anything that can be done to reduce amount of memory being used when multiple tabs are open? It really shouldn't need this much RAM to serve this many pages.

CF 9.0.1 cflayout tab - first tab - content height problem in IE 7

In IE 7, the first tab's height is incorrectly rendered - it is the combined height of the up/down arrows in the scroll bar instead of the tab's content. The rest of the tabs are rendered correctly. I am using IE 8, and changed the Document Mode to: "IE 7 Standards." It renders fine in IE 8 or even Quirks mode.
I'm not sure if CF 9.0.1 update created this problem. Can someone test this code on CF 9.0?

Correct. The first tab fully displays in IE 8 both compatibility mode and 'regular' mode when running on CF 9.0.0 (actually, maybe I should spell out: Coldfusion Server Developer 9,0,0,251028
and does not work in Coldfusion Server Enterprise 9,0,1,274733 as I stated.
I found some posts about making minor corrections to the "cflayout.js" but I think those were changes to the 9.0.0 scripts, because it was very different from the 9.0.1 cflayout.js script.
Bottom line - I "fixed" it by putting in the fix script into CFIDE\scripts\ajax\package\cflayout.js
And when I say the fix script it's almost the original 9.0.0 one, but I got it here:

My input file is very wide. It has got 175 fields and is around 4000+ char wide. When file adapter loads it, the inbound payload does not contain all the fields (i.e. it is being truncated). Any idea that how can I load this too wide file!

Firstly, the number of records in your file is not a problem at all. Your limitation is the length of one record. See question 3 in note 545923. It says that your transfer structure cannot be more that 1962 bytes including the system fields.
Now to calculate how many fields will fit into 1962 bytes. For this, take the first field. If the infoobject is defined as CHAR 9 then it is 9 bytes, a key-figure is 10 bytes most of the time. So add up. Remember even if in your flat file there are 2 chars but it is mapped into a char 9 field, it still counts as char 9. I don't think number of columns is a factor.
You can split your file into multiple files of 1962 bytes size but keeping the unique key of the records common across all the files. So that you can merge then in an ODS maybe. Again remember that fields like request number, date packet number, partition ID and record number has to be there in every PSA and a part of the 1962 limit.

I just upgraded to IOS6, and now my ipad is full of pictures I did not choose to sync.
I cannot delete them without deleting them from all sources.
Actually, the message is when I go to hit EDIT, select a picture, and then choose DELETE: "This photo is used in an album. Do you want to delete it everywhere? Delete Everywhere"
Does that mean "Everywhere" on my iPad, or everywhere including whatever place on my computer it found the photos to begin with?

To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Click Apply.

You can still sync the photos and keep the photos that are already on the device. You have to include all of the albums or events in the pictures folder that you sync from. If you are using iPhoto, select that in the Sync Photos from drop down menu and then select all of the albums or events that you want to sync. Make sure to check Selected Albums, events, faces and automatically include (no events). Using that option will allow you to choose exactly which albums and events to sync.
You have to remember that all photos must be included in every sync so you cannot sync photos from iPhoto today and then try to sync photos from another folder tomorrow, or you will erase all of the photos that were synced from iPhoto. You need to maintain one main Photos syncing folder for the photos that you want to transfer to the iPad. You can have subfolders within that one main folder and you can selectively sync those subfolders. You just have to place all of the photos that you want to sync into one main iPad syncing photos folder.
There are WiFi transfer apps that allow you to transfer photos to the iPad without having to sync with iTunes. I use this one. This app (and others like it) will allow you to use multiple computers to transfer photos.
