CFMX7 Developer Edition - Application Testing

As a beginner, I'd appreciate some guidance on the following
I have MX7 Developer Edition installed and am using the
built-in web server. My app is installed in a separate directory
beneath the wwwroot directory. So far, I have been testing it via
the "Preview in Browser" option in Dreamweaver, but I want a method
of executing the full app on my test system independently of
Dreamweaver (prior to full deployment on the production server). If
I just try to execute the index.cfm file, it kicks into Dreamweaver
rather than Internet Explorer.
Is there an easy way to do this ?
thanks, Keith

How do you "execute the index.cfm" file. If you mean you
browse to the
index.cfm file and double click on it. That is what is going
to happen.
To execute web applications, you need to use a browser. So in
the URL
bar of your favorite browser you would type something like
http://localhost/myAppDirectory/index.cfm"

  • Lync Server Mirror using SQL 2012 Developer Edition in Test Environment

    I'm setting up a Lync Enterprise Frontend Pool in a Dev/Test environment using two SQL 2012 SP2 Developer Edition Servers. When I try and publish the topology and create the databases I am getting this error.
    System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'System.String Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.ExceptionTemplatesImpl.BackupToUrlNotSupported
    I have not been able to find any info on this error but it would appear the it has something to do with the fact these servers are developer edition. I was under the impression that developer edition included all features of the enterprise edition. Is that
    not true? Has anyone else seen this error when it attempts to create the mirror?
    Thanks

  • Cant find 'SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP & SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP8 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP8 [Developer Edition]'

    I have successfull installed and been running 'SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP & SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP5 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP7 [Developer Edition]'
    In my CAL-account I have seen that 'SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP & SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP8 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP8 [Developer Edition]' has become available.
    Searching 'AWS Marketplace' with 'SAP HANA one' only brings up the version (SP5-7) I already have installed. How am I supposed to proceed to install the latest version (SP8-8)?

    It wasn't removed. I and at least one other person reported it as abusive, because it contains just a link. I think after three reports, it's automatically hidden until the moderator rejects it permanently, or releases it. In this case, it was released.
    Now, why did I report it? Well, the common view (obviously not shared by the moderator here), is that posts like that
    1) Indicate the original poster (in this case you) could have searched for yourself to find the same link
    2) Damage the site as a whole, as you end up with just a whole bundle of links from one place to another and no real content
    3) Encourage posting of FAQ
    My experience is that quite often the link isn't in fact relevant, and is just the result of the first hit of a keyword search using google. In this case it was relevant - but couldn't you have searched and found it yourself?
    In the areas I moderate, posts that constitute a single link are rejected as a matter of course. See this blog for a full and complete discussion: Posting links and the jungle you end up in..

  • Cant figure out how to install the Developer edition

    Hey everybody, I'm totally new to ColdFusion technology. I
    work in the advertising world working on print related material.
    Feeling a desire to learn more, I decided to teach myself Flash.
    So, I picked up the Flash Bible and began reading. After I finished
    the section on creating forms in Flash, I thought it would be a
    good idea to learn ColdFusion so I could learn how to write server
    side scripts and test them on my local machine with my Flash forms
    before deploying them to a remote server. In any case, I downloaded
    the free Developer edition of ColdFusion MX 7. Something is going
    wrong, and I have no idea why? After I finished completing each
    section of the installation process, the program does not seem to
    install into my hard drive. I have the path for the program to be
    installed in my applications folder on my hard drive. I'm also
    running on MAC OS 10.4.8.
    Here is some info on my computer:
    Hardware Overview:
    Machine Name: Power Mac G5
    Machine Model: PowerMac7,2
    CPU Type: PowerPC 970 (2.2)
    Number Of CPUs: 2
    CPU Speed: 2 GHz
    L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
    Memory: 3 GB
    Bus Speed: 1 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: 5.1.5f0
    And this I copied from the Adobe site for ColdFusion MX 7
    system requirements:
    Macintosh
    ColdFusion Product Editions Enterprise, Standard, Developer
    Processor PowerPC
    Operating System Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9, 10.4.2 and 10.4.3
    Memory 512 MB RAM
    Hard Disk Space 500 MB

    I decide that it may be helpful to include this info that I
    copied and
    pasted from the installation windows.

  • InDesign Server Developer Edition, PDF export problem

    I'm currently testing our application on IDS CS5, using Developer Edition. Whenever I attempt to export a PDF, I receive the following error:
    Wed Mar  2 10:17:29 2011 WARN [server] Colour in one or more placed graphics cannot be represented as CMYK.  Non-CMYK colour is not compliant with the PDF/X-1a standard. You can click OK to produce a valid PDF, but it will not be a PDF/X-1a compliant file.
    Wed Mar  2 10:17:29 2011 ERROR [server] JavaScript Error!
    Error Number: 2
    Error String: User cancelled this action.
    Engine: main
    Line: 1428
    Source: this.document.exportFile(ExportFormat.pdfType, documentFile);
    Interpreter: CS4 (6.0)
    This happens even with a completely blank document. It works fine if I export JPGs or an INDD file from the same file. I'm guessing this is due to the watermark that Developer Edition places on every page. I'm fine with that, but not actually being able to export an X-1a PDF makes testing quite tricky.
    Any suggestions?

    I get the same thing:
        private void exportPDF(Document document, PDFType pdfType) throws IdsException {
            String pdfPath = this.outputPrefix + pdfType.getFileEnding();
            getApplication().getPDFExportPreferences().setPageRange(buildExportPageRange(document));
            document.doExport(VariableTypeUtils.createString("Adobe PDF"),
                    pdfPath,
                    OptArg.makePDFExportPreset(getPDFExportPreset(document, pdfType)),
                    OptArg.noBoolean(),
                    OptArg.noString(),
                    OptArg.makeBoolean(true));
            addExportedPreview(pdfPath);
            log.debug("Exported PDF: " + pdfPath);
        private PDFExportPreset getPDFExportPreset(Document document, PDFType pdfType) throws IdsException {
            Application application = getApplication();
            PDFExportPreset preset = application.getNamedChildPDFExportPreset(pdfType.getExportPresetName());
            preset.setCropMarks(pdfType.isCropMarks());
            preset.setUseDocumentBleedWithPDF(pdfType.isBleed());
            if (pdfType.isBleed() || pdfType.isCropMarks()) {
                preset.setPageMarksOffset(UnitConverter.toUnit(getPageMarksOffset(document)));
            } else {
                preset.setPageMarksOffset(UnitConverter.toUnit(Length.zero()));
            return preset;
    Editing the profile to use none for standard compliance allows the export of the PDF.

  • Developer edition download licence needs changing

    Hi,
    Firstly thanks for making the developer / trial versions available. It is a great benefit to the ecosystem that new developers can test and improve their skill and even share that code with things like Codexchange.
    Now here is the rub and people like SAP Legal, Mark F, Mark Y and Rui might be interested in this bit:
    The 'developer version' available is mentioned on http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/nw-downloads
    That page say on the 32 and 64 bit editions:
    The Developer Edition allows individuals free of charge to test, evaluate, prototype and share add-on software code on code exchange
    So we click through to
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/3042391e-f06c-2e10-e2a8-8d2e2a4e711e
    and then to
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/index?rid=/webcontent/uuid/60ae136b-e66c-2e10-739f-bb82fa40292a
    to actually download and the sub header says:
    SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.02 SP6 64-bit Developer Version
    but the legal licence what we are obliged to agree to says:
    Provided that you comply with all terms and conditions of this Evaluation License, SAP grants to you the following rights under this Evaluation License a non-exclusive, non-perpetual license to use the Software Product solely for purposes of testing and evaluation of the Software Product for the limited period specified below.
    In fact the licence is identical to the licence used for the trial edition.
    Nothing about a DEVELOPER version, nothing about CODE EXCHANGE and limited to 90 days.
    If I was promised a developer version that I could use with code exchange I would expect this to be spelled out by the licence. I would also expect that the Developer version would NOT have to keep re-licencing every 90 days.
    Could you please look into this and let us know your findings. <<Gamification text removed>>
    Thanks,
    Nigel
    PS Despite downloadable editions of NW Software being a total GAME-CHANGER no kittens were harmed in the preparation of this thread.
    Edited by: Matt on Oct 9, 2011 5:40 PM

    No I rarely check the Oracle site. I generally exist in the application layer.
    BTW... you quoted my last line which was intended to inject some levity in the situation but my whole point is about the licence that we must agree to to download this software. It promises 'Developer Edition' but does not deliver.

    Press Release
    ===================================================================
    Jinspired Provides Free JDBInsight 1.2 Developer Edition License
    DUBLIN, IRELAND - 14 April , 2003 - Jinspired (www.jinspired.com), a leader in
    J2EE™ transaction analysis, today announced that it is providing a free license
    for the Developer Edition of its innovative performance tuning product, JDBInsight
    1.2.
    J2EE™ developers using JDBInsight 1.2, can now acquire a greater understanding
    of the transactional behaviour of their J2EE™ components from day one. With the
    early adoption of JDBInsight in the development life cycle, many of the common
    performance problems can be prevented. JDBInsight's unique and powerful information
    visualizations of SQL and JDBC™ transactions, make it an ideal tool for those
    development teams looking to reduce the risks of incurring future performance
    and scalability problems with their J2EE™ applications.
    "The feedback from the development and performance testing community regarding
    JDBInsight's low overhead, transactional behaviour data capture, and user interface
    has been phenomenal.", said William Louth, CTO & Product Architect, Jinspired.
    “The reason for providing a free Developer Edition license is to encourage the
    early adoption of Java application performance and monitoring products. Typically,
    Jinspired is called in to resolve performance problems too late in the development
    lifecycle, resulting in increased development, hardware and software costs to
    the customer that could have been prevented.”

    If you restart the ColdFusion service the current IP

    I have to test my product with SQL Server 2012 database. Based on the search on ineternet, I know I have to get hold of Developer Edition

    Can some one please clarify.

  • Edit application settings AIR for iOS not working

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to create a .ipa so I can test my app on my iPhone but my Flash cs6 will no longer let me edit application settings so I can publish the file.
    The first time I did it, it was working fine. I added my certificate and my Provisioning Profile and published a .ipa file.
    Now, when I click the wrench tool icon or go through the file menu and select AIR for iOS settings, nothing happens. All it does is generate an .xml file for me ("filename"-app.xml).
    What is wrong and how can I fix this?
    I've tried rebooting.
    I have the same problem on Flash cs6 and Flash cs5.5 on two different computers.
    I have an iOS development Certificate.
    I have an iOS development Provisioning Profile.
    Thanks in advance for your help!

  • SAP Developer Edition?  Need development environment w/o buying SAP!

    Hi there,
    We're looking to work with a client who is running an SAP based system, and in advance of our next meeting in a month we have pledged to research the SAP platforms and how to interact with them.
    The client will be upgrading to SAP 6 in a couple of months so, due to both this and the fact that we have not been selected yet as the final candidate, interacting with their system is not an option.
    I have browsed SDN to see if there was a Developer Edition of the platform that we could use to test with, but couldn't find anything. Could anybody point me in the right direction for either a 'trial version' (though I know this is unlikely!) or even an open test system that we could connect to via VPN to test against... or any other ideas!
    Thanks in advance,
    Tom Groves
    [email protected]

    Thanks Mahesh... I think my brain may not have been working properly yesterday!
    I was wondering, as I am not familiar with SAP (yet!), if you could just help me determine which sneak preview I need to download from: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/77317c8d-0701-0010-f093-ed35a427f559
    The client as far as I am aware is running version 4, but is shortly to upload to version 6 or something - this is to provide them with unicode support as they need to store Arabic and other languages.
    If I want to simply query the data stored in SAP and utilize various business methods from .NET will the "SAP NetWeaver J2EE Preview" suffice - this contains SAP NetWeaver Application Server and Developer Studio.
    Or do I need the Portal and hence have to download the Full Java Edition-Trial (or Full Java Edition2004s-Trial?!) as these contain the "SAP NetWeaver Portal with PDK."
    If we can get away with only downloading the SAP NetWeaver J2EE Preview then that's better as a) we're based in Dubai Media City and traffic costs are prohibitive here and b) it would be nice to have the files downloaded today instead of having to download >5GB!
    Sorry to act like a complete newbie on this, only heard of SAP yesterday, just want to get a platform up and running to test certain theories!
    Thanks for all your help,
    Tom

    I toke a long period to finish the installation.
    Now some questions to use this system in the right way:
    1.) How can I get a "developer license" which do not expire? Because the link http://www.sap.com/minisap seems to be not ok.
    2.) How can I connect via network with the sap system? the application server is running on a vm client with a static ip i.e. 192.168.1.5. And my laptop gets a ip in the same range. I have installed the gui on my laptop and tried to connect with the system. But it does not work! I used as application server the ip of the virtual machine. I use the gui witch is installed on the same host like the application it works (with localhost as application server adress)
    3.) Where can I download the newest version of the SAP Gui? I do not have a service marktplace account? Is it possible?
    4.) I read in the documentation that it should be possible to reach the sap system also with web dynpro: http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000
    But it does not work. I got an error message: Service cannot be reached
    Note
    The termination occurred in system NSP with error code 403 and for the reason Forbidden.
    The selected virtual host was 0 .
    Regards
    Christian

    I fixed in the meantime the second problem. It was a problem with my local firewall. But the other three points are still open.
    Thank in advance for your help
