Please check  as per following step
ECL Viewer INSTALLATION PROCESS
1.     Install the latest SUN JAVA version, which is currently 1.5.0_07. The path should be c:\program files\java\
2.     Deinstall ECL Viewer from SAP GUI 6.40 (If SAP GUI is already installed on machine).
3.     While installing SAP GUI, ensure that the ECL component is not selected from R/3 Add On.
4.     Install ECL Viewer 5.1.2 on local machine.
5.     Ensure the path is as follows :(C:\Program Files\Common Files\SAP Shared\System or C:\Program Files\Common Files\SAP Shared\System\Java )

    Hi,
did You meet that problem with the viewer?
I use TC OAOR and I'v got an error 'Error when calling a method of VIEWER2D_CONTROL Message no. SBDS323'. I use option in-place to view document from HTTP content server repository (IBM Filenet). When I deactivate this option the document is open in viewer in new window - TC SDV is working - so I know that document exist and is stored in repository.

  • ECL Viewer Redlining does not work in cFolders for PDF

    Hi,
I am using cFolders 4.5 with ECL viewer 6.0 patch level 4. Redlining functionality works for AutoCAD and graphics files such as JPG. However, when I try to use the redlining functionality on a PDF I get the message "This feature is currently not supported. Please contact your cFolders system administrator. The ECL viewer will shut down".
Any ideas on why this is happening. Is there anything specific I need to do to enable redlining for PDF files on cFolders.
    Thanks,
    Lashan

    Hi Lashan,
This can be only realized in form of a modification.
To get the functionality, you have to change the code of BSP page
'doc_de_redline.htm'. You can find this information at transaction SE80
    > BSP application 'CFX_RFC_UI' > Pages with Flow Logic
    Switch to Layout:

    Regarding redlining of pdf files:
Please create a file" EAI Viewer.xml " and place the below xml code in the file. save it.

  • ECL Viewer 6.0 in cfolders under WINDOWS VISTA

    Hi Experts,
I have Windows VISTA installed and can not use the ECL Viewer 6.0 within cfolders 4.5. I know that there has been a restriction for the usage of ECL Viewer in cfolders and VISTA...
Is that issue solved? Do you know an appropiate patch?
    Any hints are welcome.
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards,
    Jochen

We have installed the latest patches for the ECL Viewer and are still experiencing issues with resolution.
When I open a drawing and click on properties, I can see the 2D Loader Preferences for PDF's but cannot change them.
Currently the 2D Viewing Preferences are:
    View As: TIFF Group4, Monochrome
    Density: 300
The preferences are grayed out and cannot be changed/saved.  I currently have PDF's configured to use %EAIweb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-Control%.  I have researched KPRO and SPRO trying to find the config to change the Density from 300 to 1200 to see if this resolves the issue of the drawings opening and printing in low resolution but am unable to find this config.
I may also note I have not set up the MIME types.  I have read that this should be done but again I lack understanding how this would be impacting my issue of resolution using the viewer.  If I configure SAP to open %auto% the PDF's open with the workstation application Adobe and are clear.  BUT this does not support our requirement to complete mark up's within SAP.
Any assistance on this would be appreciated.
    Thank You!
    Ame B.

    Hi,
Does ECL viewer has drag and drop functionality for example we can drag and drop file from windows sever to SAP. So that it can be used later on using BDN.

Implement this program,  it is a cut/paste solution.  Again, you must have the ECL component installed on your SAPgui.

The ECL doesn't handle every file type,  but PDF works good.

  • CFolders ECL viewer

    Hi Gurus,
In order to support redlining by partners they need to have the ECL viewer installed locally. What is the best way of distributing this viewer to the partners? Is there any licensing involved?
    thanks

    Rahul;
You have to instal the ECL Viewer in SAP GUI, and in SPRO have to config the viewer of Document Types (1 View, 2 Edit & 3 Print). I used with DMS (Document Management System).
First Install EL Viewer in a Client workstation.
I recommened to use ECL Viewer to view document and use the %auto% to use the software installed in the client machine.

The files need to be in a server "visible" to theo other users. I don´t know if you archive the files.

  • ECL viewer and Redlining on Web

    Hi,
I need a web brower access to some DIR of DMS using ECL viewer and Redlining functionnality.
    Do you have an idea?
    Regards
    Georges

    Hello,
In fact, the WebDocument does not inculde the possibility to use ECL viewer.
But I read that viewing with ECL & doing Redlining is possibe via cFolder.
So do you know how to re-use the EAI applet (from cFolder) and include it in a Web Dynpro or something else without using cFolder (<< it is too 'big' for what we want to do)?
Have somebody a documentation about this applet?
    Regards

So far I have no Idea when SAP will release the ECL VIEWER for AutoCAD 2009.

  • Redline in SAP document (*.dwg, *.pdf etc.) without ECL viewer Installation

    Hi Experts,
We are implementing PLM Customer Collaboration in our Clients' system. Now If ECL viewer is installed in someone's machine, he or she can use Use ECL viewer functionality in cFolders like redlining in the drawing etc.
Now Problem is that though I am providing the Customer Collaboration through web to be used by customers, they can't use the redlining functionality. But, we can't go to every customer's machine & install the ECL viewer in their machine. Do we have any other alternative in SAP to get the redlining functionality without having ECL Viewer installed in local PC.
    regards,
    Soumen

    Hi Soumen,
..Do we have any other alternative in SAP to get the redlining functionality without having ECL Viewer installed in local PC...
I doubt if there are any other options!! At best, what you could do is to enable the WebEx feature in cFolders, setup a meeting with your external partners and do the markup/redlining.

  • Problems using ECL Viewer to display multipage TIFF Files

    Hey there!
Maybe someone here may have a good hint due to our problem?
    The Situation as it is:
We are using ECL Viewer to display multipage TIFFs.
    The Process looks like following:
The first step is to show a list of files situated in the user's personal folder(Network-Share).
Then the user selects one of these Files through a mouse-click -> The File is displayed via ECL Viewer.
Now the user selects the personal-Id where this file should be connected to and selects "SAVE".
The Programm closes the Viewer and saves the Data in SAP Archiv.
    >> Everything works fine till here.<<
But now the last processing-step would be to delete this file from the user-folder.
(So next time the users starts it there will be only files he/she has to work on...)
Here an error message is telling us that the file can not be deleted because there s some kind of file lock set...
This problem only occurs only during processing multipage-Tiffs after paging down (swiching to page 2,3,4...) once at least.
Any Idea what's the cause here  - or how to get through it?
We are using a CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER objekt as base -> hooked on that is a CL_GUI_ECL_VIEWERBOX and the TIFF itself is displayed wit an I_OI_DOCUMENT_VIEWER objekt.
Maybe we get confused while destroying the "Connections" to the FIle oder something with Automation Queue Handling is not implemented right?
Thanx for any idea, hints, or better practices
    Very kind Regards from Austria!
    Daniel

  • ECL Viewer 5 raise exceptions viewing tif drawings

    Hello all,
Bit of a strange one here that hopefully someone may be able to help me with...
We are (still) running 4.6C, on Ora 9.2.0.7 over Windows.
We are running 640 Gui patched to 24
We have deployed (in a failed attempt to stop the error I will describe below) ECL viewer 5.1.3.
Client machines are running XP with SP2
    Error:
after entering MM03 and choosing Additional Data > Document Data we click on an attchment (doc type DRG) and choose to view via the display (glasses) icon.  The tif file (which is copied into C:\temp) opens.  many of the tif files (scanned drawings) have multiple pages so we move to the next page by clicking 'Navigation' > 'next'.
The problem is that after a seemingly random amount of clicks on to next pages a raise exception occurs.  After the short dump it is no longer possible to view the document again as we get the error 'file c:\temp\xxxxx.tif cannot be created' and so the only way to view the drawing is either to access the file from the temp directory or completly log out of SAP and relog back in.
i have searched for notes and we were advised to deploy the 5.1.3 viewer which only seems to have made it worse because before the 5.1.3 deployment we were getting many short dumps but the user oddly didn't see the short dump on their screens - now 5.1.3 is in place the user now sees the short dump and calls the support desk very often.
Has anyone been unfortunate enough to have experienced this before or anyone got any brain waves????
yours thankful in advance and loosing the will to live,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
I would recommend you to upgrade to the latest available ECL Viewer version 6.
    Please see SAP note 1083901.
Further please upgrade also your SAPGUI to the latest patch level as explained in note 164203. After this upgrade please un-install your ECL Viewer 5.1.3 by using one of the following mehtods:
Search for WebViewer2d.dll file. If it is present at more than one place then it means ECL Viewer is installed more than once without uninstalling the previous version (You can check the folders and should be able to see all the dll's for ECL Viewer such WebViewer3d.dll/Printing.dll etc to make sure that there is not only single file but the whole installation).
    In this case:
    A) Uninstall the version integrated with SAP GUI by using SAP Installation scripts. You need to uncheck the 'EAI Viewer' component in 'General Add-on' option.
    B) Check add/remove program and if there is an entry like SAP Viewer, uninstall it.
After this search again, and you should not get WebViewer2d.dll file on machine. Now reinstall the latest Viewer. This should solve most of the issue related to inconsistencies.
Then install the latest ECL Viewer 6 and the issue should be solved.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • ECL viewer printing format failure (A4- letter)

    Hi all,
we are using ECL Viewer 6.0 Patchlevel 5 for viewing and printing CAD Drawings in purchasing, production, QA and so on. We are on SAP ECC 6.0 ( EA-APPL: SAPKGPAD17), and our SAPGUI version is 7.20 Patchlevel 1.
Our designers are using the CAD integration to Solidworks and when they save their work, a TIF  file gets created and stored in the same DIR as the original CAD file. The drawing formats are mostly A3 and A4.
Now it happens really often that a user tries to print A4 TIF from ECL viewer which fails, because its sended to the printer in letter format. Since we do not have letter format in our printers, the printout hangs in the printer. All settings and defaults in the printdriver are set to A4, nowhere letter format is set. This seems to be a problem, since we switched companywide to Xerox Printers.
Could this be an issue between ECL-viewer and the global print driver from Xerox which we use everywhere?
    Thanks and regards

    Dear
First check ECL Viewer is there !!!?
For viewing autocad file in SAP ECL viewer you have to check setting in SPRO
    Steps:
SPRO--->General Data >Define Workstation Application>Select ACD(Autocad file type)-->Clcik Define workstation application in network --> Add new Entry -->
    Type || Appl || AT || Description || Application(path and program name)
    PC || ACD || 1 || Autocad || EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL%
    PC || ACD || 2 || Autocad || %auto%
    PC || ACD || 3 || Autocad || %auto%
    This will solve your problem

  • Menu Buttons of ECL Viewer

    Hello,
we are going to use ECL Viewer 6.0 for our Invoice approval process (D2-Format  FAX and TIFF).
Due to SAPGUI Update from 6.40  to 7.10 we had to get rid of the AL_Viewer, which ist not supported anymore. Now we have some limitations with the handling of the ECL Viewer: There are no Menu buttons, short cuts or hotkey for easy Document viewing control , like zoom, shift,  resize etc. These are only available with context menue (right mouse click): Navigation ....
Are there any posibilites of customizing the navigation within the viewer window ?
    Kind Regards,
    Josef Janetzko

    Hi Josef
/*There are no Menu buttons, short cuts or hotkey for easy Document viewing control , like zoom, shift, resize etc. These are only available with context menue (right mouse click): Navigation ....*/
The navigation option is present in the menu option also. But for them to appear in the menu go to options and there u have to select the menu options which you want to make as visible. Pre requisite is ECL viewer has to be installed on the machine.
You can find help on this in sap help->DMS->Function overview of 2d formats-> settings for 2d formats.
    Regards
    Prasad
