CG36 - No virus scan profile is selected as the "default profile"

When running transaction CG36 - Import Reports, I'm getting this message in the job log:
"No virus scan profile is selected as the "default profile" VSCAN 034 I"
Do I have to set up a default profile for virus scan? I have never seen this error until recent upgrade. Is there a way to by pass this virus scan if we choose not to activate it?

I encountered the same problem during the CG36 transaction.
"Error during virus scan in file "...\usr\sap\.....\xixoxoxioxo.pdf" with Message class "CM_REPORT_IMP_EXP" 010 E
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE.
This may be due to BASIS security level virus scan checks on the files being imported to the application server. Is BASIS assistance required on this or any workaround to bypass?

whenever we run Server URL from The Browser, first we must need run "chrome.exe --args --disable-web-security" command on CMD. on located directory the Chrome has installed.
to disable web security.
if I did not run that command on CMD, then Fiori Apps not worked.
Why it's compulsory to disable web security.

Hello,
i'm using the submit statement to execute a program(download data as xml file) in background.
When i do that, I receive : Virus scan profile /SCET/GUI_UPLOAD is not active
in SPRO, i have the following:
when i tick on columns Active and Default profile, i receive:
Recursive occurrence of virus scan profile /SCET/GUI_UPLOAD in the sequence /SCET/GUI_UPLOAD
Details:
When i start extraction for FI data via abap Report in Background, i receive that error.
The abap report do a download of data from several tables to the XML file.
I tried the download to local PC and To Application server, but i receive in the both situation the same error...
Any idea to solve this issue?

Virus Scan profile Activation and Configuration

Hi Guys,
We need to activate the Virus Scan profile, so that the team could upload the document in SCM System with in SNC Page.
Its AIX 64 bit, DB2 9.1 SCM 7.01
I have seen the document of this and found i need to start with the group creation: Done
Then, We need to create a RFC type T with Registered program:
Q.1 I need to know what would be the external program in this case.
Q.2 I have downloaded Virus Scanner and connector for ClamAV
Q.3 Do i need to install the product in step 2 in the same server AIX 64 or in other machine and what would be the Register program.
Q.4 What is the Role of VSI and SAP VSI 7.01 is available for Windows Server on IA32 32bit only andhow would we install this , when and where?

Virus scan profile activation in ODATA

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue while uploading Image(*Base64 format)
into SAP through Netweaver Odata Gateway services. The issue is that the
content of the Image is supposed to come in a field that has datatype Xstring
but when we include a field with data type Xstring the framework starts giving
an error no virus scan profile is active . We did try various combinations of
Standard Virus Profile maintained , but no resolution came out of it. Now we
have created a new profile in customer namespace but now it gives an error
Incorrect Configuration for Profile <Profile Name>. We need help in
trying to figure out what is correct configuration that is to be maintained to
fix this issue.
There is an alternative that we deactivate the Virus Scan
profile through transaction /IWFND/VIRUS_SCAN and then we are able to post the
images , but this doesn’t look like an ideal solution as it would involve
transporting Virus scan profile to Production and quality and then deactivating
them over there manually.
I am getting error on "Recursive occurrence of virus scan profile in the sequence"
Please suggest.

Virus Scan profile activated - implications?

Hello.
we have a custom program that makes IDOCS into PDF's and then emails them.
if the Virus Scan profile /SCMS/KPRO_CREATE is not activated it fails saying that it isnt activated.
There is Note 1382313 that states not to activate it, only if you need it activate it.
So we do need it and activated it now but what else is now scanned as well?
And how come its needed when we create documents? So far I have only found it to be needed for incoming objects?

Though the profile is active, you need a virus scanner.
you need External Virus Scanner to be setup in the VSCAN--> Servers.
Few Virus Scanners are McAfee, Avira, and http://www.bowbridge.de/index.php?id=31&L=1
BowBridge.
Once the setup is done, use VSCANPROFILE---> Activate it and use VSCANTEST to test sample antivirus.
After the activation only the docuemnts which are using the profile are scanned, the idea is when you upload a documet to SAP then it is scanned.

Lets consider a few things, is the iPad generally safe on the interwebs without some sort of third party scan (scam) ware in your premise.
Lets risk assess how many most/all PC and later day Mac systems become infected/compromised .
They are auto downloads through a browser or Email attachments with auto-scripting of some sort.
Open ports (no fire walling)
Social engineering.
And via Flash scripting.
1) Now as for the IPad, built in protection consists of preventing virtually anything being downloaded/installed via the web browser. PDF can be but viewed within a sandbox.
2) All authorized apps are distributed and installed only via Apples approval process via the App Store and ITunes
(Some corporates can install their own software via private channels at a cost)
3) A factory (Not jailbreaked) ios device has no access to command line so no ports can not be opened with ease.
4) Social engineering - this usually involves driving the victim to their web browser then see point 1 above or point 5 below.
5) Apple and Adobe haven't found a way to get a version of Flash to work on ios devices within the Apple released developer SDK and APIs. So no risk of running compromised Flash in foreseeable future at least not on a factory ios device.
6) You do however run the very real risk of theft and even this has been considered with Find My iPad/iPhone apps and remote locking and system wiping functionality.
Other than adding resource overhead what else could third party virus scanning do on such a locked down system ?

How do you make report selection variant the default selection varaint?

I know how to create a Selection Variant for reoprts and I know how to create a User Variable that defaullts field values for a specific user. But can anyone tell me how do you have a specific Report Selection Variant Default for everyone? I know this one is probably staring right at me but I'm not seeing it. Your help would be greatly apreciated.

That will only hold the data for that specific user. You can also do that via "user variables". What I would like to know is how do you get it to be the default for All users.
I am investigating the possibility of using t-code SE38 and changing the Values on the existing variants to contain the default data we'd like to see. I'd much rather create just one Variant per report and have that be the default variant.
Anyone have any ideas?

For selection parameter the default date should be of the previous month.

For example today is 24.09.2008 so the default value of this field has to be 200808 instead of 200809 today.

Even though I have FF set to "Show my windows and tabs from last time" every time I open FF it just opens the home page. Why won't it open my previous session like it use to, even if I have that selected as the default state?

Nothing more to provide. Simple problem not opening previous session tabs when browser is opened after being closed. Was working fine until the upgrade to 7.0.1.

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

When we run virus scan on SAP server CPU utilization go high ,SAP team advice us to disable the virus scan.
They told us that they Virus interface in SAP. My question how it work is it ok not to install Antivirus softwares on SAP server

Architecture of the Virus Scan Interface & help me in defining Defining Scanner Groups
The structure of the Virus Scan Interface allows you to combine different products, systems, and platforms to scan your applications for viruses. This is possible, since SAP provides a certified interface for the virus scan products of other vendors.
The partners virus scan engines can, for example, have completely different architectures. However, by integrating an adapter using a proprietary connection, any partner can, however, connect any existing virus scan product to the virus scan interface.
On the SAP side, different VSILIB layers are used to include the ABAP and Java worlds, and to deal with platform dependencies (of operating systems and processors, that is, 32 or 64 bit) in the integration of the virus scan interface.
Use
A scanner group combines multiple virus scanners of the same type to allow load balancing. Since you select the virus scan server using the scanner group when maintaining the virus scan profile, you must assign each virus scan server to a scanner group.
Maintain a scanner group for each product class of virus scanners that are connected to the system using the virus scan server. If you include your own virus scanners with the BAdI VSCAN_INSTANCE, create a scanner group for each implementation of your own scanner and identify these as BAdI implementations.
You can store configuration parameters for each scanner group. These are divided into initialization parameters and scan parameters:
        Initialization parameters are transferred to the virus scan server when it is started, and are required to be able to start the virus scan server. If you use the Business Add-In, these parameters for the method of creating the scan instance are transferred. The parameters contain, for example, the path to the virus signatures.
        Scan parameters are transferred for each scan process and control the behavior of the individual request, such as yes/no for activating the scanning of macros.
For information about which configuration parameters are required or supported by the product that you use, see the documentation for the product.
SAP does not deliver any scanner groups.
Procedure
       1.      In the Implementation Guide, choose (IMG) SAP Web Application Server ® System Administration ® Virus Scan Interface.
       2.      Choose the Execute option next to Define Scanner Groups.
The screen View: Change "Scanner Groups": Overview appears.
       3.      Choose New Entries.
The screen New Entries: Overview of Added Entries appears.
       4.      Specify the data for the scanner group.
