CGI files aren't transfering as ASCII

I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 and it isn't uploading CGI files as ASCII code as it should. When it  transfers these files in binary instead, it breaks forms. I've checked FTPExtensionMap.txt file and CGI is set to ASCII. Does anyone know what else I can try?

I found this help article for CS4. It appears to be the same procedure in CS3.

  • HT203167 My iTunes files aren't transferring between my computer and my iPod. Help?

    I currently have my iTunes library synced to two different computers plus my iPod. All 3 of my libraries have a different amount of music files and I can't seem to be able to get them to match each other even though they are all signed into the sampe Apple ID. I turned on home sharing but i still can't sync all three libraries. Can anyone help?

    Hi,
    When you use you Apple ID account you can enter and verfy a couple of addresses, but the first address that you setup and use on your Apple ID becomes the primary address. This is the address that you need to use when using Apple ID on your devices. You can use the other address' that you have supplied to loggin but you sometimes get limited functionality for internet services if you mix address'. Mail is seperate from Apple ID and should not effect you email accounts.

  • TS2167 iWeb: publish by ftp to GoDaddy webhosting service - get "publish error" at end of ftp session - always 1-2 files not successfully transferred - Why?

    Why do I get message "Publish error There was an error communicating with the server.  Try again later, or check with your service provider" when i publish websites to webhosting service (GoDaddy.com) from iWeb 3.0.4  even though most webpages have been transferred and are marked blue?   There are always a few pages marked red after each ftp transfer?   It seems that the ftp session is terminated by web hosting service too fast for iWeb 3.0.4. to register that files have been transferred successfully.  When I check pages marked red in iWeb with browser, they are often available and functioning.     I have to add many extra webpages (which I do not want) to get iWeb to register all my pages as transferred (marked blue).  If I do not do this, all pages on website are marked "red" after I close iWeb and restart it.   This means that everytime i make one little change to one page on a website of 8-10 Gigabytes,  I often have to republish the entire site!
    I think (without understanding enough/anything about ftp protocolls and termination negotiations) that iWeb is not getting enough time at end of each ftp session to register that all the pages have in fact been transferred successfully.   Could this be the explanation?  If so, how do I "slow down" the termination of ftp session by my web hosting service GoDaddy so that iWeb 3.0.4 can see that all files have been successfully transferred and therefore should be marked blue?

    You're rather prone to problems, aren't you. It's not the first time.

    And since you do not use iWeb's ftp, but publish to a folder, iWeb's job is done.
    You are now 100 percent responsible for your actions.
    Upload the files properly. And if you're not blind visually challenged, you can see for yourself where the files are on the server. No need for GoDaddy eyes.
    And why not use iWeb's FTP. Then at least you eliminate the human error.
    And no, GoDaddy won't have to help you with iWeb, because there's nothing to fix.
    And practice FTP first on your computer :

    Good luck.

  • Migration Assistant - All of the files were not transferred

    I transferred all the user files, settings and applications using migration assistant. I went from an intel iMac to a newer intel iMac. Snow Leopard to Lion. I checked everything in the migration assistant except for the iPhoto library of one of the users because it was too big for the main hard drive of the new computer. I copied it manually to the secondary hard drive.
    At the end of the migration a window said that not all of the files were transferred and I should check to make sure I have everything I need. (I'm not sure the exact wording). Below that it said that a static IP was transferred and I should not have both the old computer and the new one on the network with the same IP.
    Do you think it's just referring to the iPhoto library when it says all files were not transferred? Or could there be something else. Is there a log that I can look at that will tell me what might not have transferred?
    As far at the IP thing, I changed the static IP on the new computer so that's fine.

    Hard to say. I suggest that you peruse Pondini's Setup New Mac guide and determine if you did things the right way.

  • How can I get a .cgi file that keeps downloading to work in the browser?

    When I click on the .gif "Mod 3" on the URL below, Firefox (and Safari) just download a .cgi file to my desktop. I don't know if I CAN get this link to work, but I'd like to.
    http://osr.rice.edu/consent/mod2soc/mod2sec7.html#q2_5
    Tried monkeying around with the Applications preferences, but doesn't seem relevant. Doesn't give me an option to do anything other than download the file when I click the link. I tried Safari too, just to see if that'd make any difference, and it didn't.

    That is a problem with the code on that page.<br />
    It is a perl script that needs to run on that server, but the link seems to be missing (GET) parameters that the script should evaluate. If there are no such parameters passed to the script then you get such a download pop-up.
    What should happen if you click that button?

  • DW CS6 Unable to Find .cgi Files in any Local Site

    Hi
    I noticed the other day while searching across local websites for particular keywords in DW CS6 that the Find operation could not find them in any .cgi files in any local sites even though the keywords do exist in the .cgi files. I made sure that the Find had the entire sites as the target for searching. It seems odd that when DW CS6 can open .cgi files its Find cannot find keywords in them.
    Have other users experiened the same problem? Let me know.

    I realize it is not good to get time-machine created files back by going through finder, but that seems like that is my only option.
    Were you trying to access it via either Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant?  If those don't work, you still may be able to use the "Star Wars" display to see and restore some data.  It all depends on just what and where the damage is.
    If you can get into the display, you may be able to restore the iPhoto Library; start with the most recent backup, and work back in time.
    the  problem now is the folder is locked with a big red no go sign, and command-i cannot change it (not even when i do it on the computer on which the file was created).
    Correct; Time Machine protects it's backups with very restrictive ACLs, basically "nobody can do anything," so us mere mortals won't damage them.
    If you use the same user account on the same Mac that did the backup, via the Finder, you should have read rights, and you may be able to copy from the backups.
    if i succeed, am i going to see my iphoto library file in that folder?
    Yes.  Each of those date-stamped backup folders should contain a set of "hard links" to the backup copies of everything that was on your system at the time of that backup, no matter when each item was actually backed-up.  If you can copy the most recent one successfully, that will get everything.
    The iPhoto Library looks like a file; but it's actually a special kind of folder called a "package."  If you can't copy it, right-click it and select Show Package Contents to see inside it, but don't copy individual items except as a last resort -- at best, you'll recover raw photos, with no organization or data, and probably no editing, either.

  • Webgate installation - not able to find .cgi file in bin directory

    Hi friends,
    I am trying to install webgate on ohs server (after webpass installation). But as told in installation document for webgate, we need to configure the webgate by giving relative path to dll or cgi file in bin directory.
    But when I tried to search .cgi file in bin directory, there is no cgi file there, there is only webgate.dll file.
    Please tell me what exactly is the issue I am facing here?
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi,
    Let me know which document you are following. While installing webgate, we need to provide the path configuration file of webserver. In your case, it is httd.conf.

    Yes, fcgiwrap is running. Here's its config:
    GNU nano 2.2.6 File: /usr/lib/systemd/system/fcgiwrap.socket
    [Unit]
    Description=fcgiwrap Socket
    [Socket]
    ListenStream=/run/fcgiwrap.sock
    [Install]
    WantedBy=sockets.target
    I don't think fcgiwraps has logs on my system.
    Also, I have no way to know the exact URL I'm redirected to because the OK I click is a button (so no RMB/copy destination link possibiloity), and once I click, the download box shows up which only lists http://monitorix
    EDIT:
    I modified my monitorix server block:
    GNU nano 2.2.6 File: /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/monitorix
    server {
    listen 80;
    #listen [2001:db8:ffff:1::10]:80;
    server_name monitorix;
    root /usr/share/webapps/monitorix;
    error_log /usr/share/webapps/monitorix/logs/error.log;
    access_log /usr/share/webapps/monitorix/logs/access.log;
    log_not_found off;
    location /cgi-bin/ {
    gzip off;
    root /usr/share/webapps/monitorix;
    include /etc/nginx/fastcgi_params;
    fastcgi_pass unix:/run/fcgiwrap.sock;
    fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;
    location ~ \.cgi$ {
    root /usr/share/webapps/monitorix/cgi;
    fastcgi_pass unix:/run/fcgiwrap.sock;
    include fastcgi.conf;
    Now, when I click on OK, I get
    403 Forbidden
    and this is not form nginx, because there is no nginx signature underneath the error.

    You can add file extensions to Dreamweaver by following the
    steps on this page:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_16410
    If you only want to open the .cgi files in code view, then
    you can try adding it via:
    Edit -> Preferences -> File Types/Editors -> Open in
    code view
