Challenge for the gurus: cancel deletion of request

Hi all,
I deleted by mistake a request form infocube. After recognizing it was the wrong one, I cancelled the deletion.
But it was too late ... no data of the specific request in the infocube, although the request is still in it and the status is green.
How can I restore this request?

Table for the cheque cancellation

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement like: Doc Posting is date is: 15/07/2014 and payment date is: 16/07/2014. Aging should be calculated?
The Biggest task is: Say they had a posted a vendor liability document on 15/07/2014 and payment has been made for the same on 16/07/2014.
The aging would be 1 one day. On the next day 17/07/2014 they realised the need to cancel they cheque for some XXXX reasons.
The cancellation of cheque is picking up the the document posting date which is: 15/07/2014. When they reissue the cheque for the same vendor on 18/07/2014. The aging is calculating as :15/07/2014 - 18/07/2014 which is 3 days. But client want the aging to be calculated from the reissue of the cheque.
Any help on this is really appreciated...

HI Rohit,
Check the date of check issue, system would be taking it as payment date PAYR-ZALDT not check print date PAYR-PRIDT.
Change the logic of ageing report make it to PRIDT.
Check the same, it will resolve your issue.

Open New Safari Window: A Challenge To The Gurus!

I asked this question in Safari Community 4 days ago - to no avail. So I challenge the gurus here. Can you try and help me?
The problem:
• It takes half a second to open a new empty Safari window, thanks to a cute graphics effect while opening.
• Opening TextEdit, new Mail window, opening iTunes is absolutely instantaneous on my Mac Pro late 2013.
• I want my new empty Safari window to snap open on the monitor. In other words, I want to get rid of this graphids effect,.
A small problem, but I would love an answer. Any answer would be appreciated. Any. You could tell me for example:
• You're stupid to ask such a question.
• There is no solution to your problem (which means that YOU don't know the answer... )
• I do have a solution !
• Howya doin?
I distribute points for help, for ansers, anything. I'm not cheap on this. And it's been said that I was opinionated.
I'm gonna haunt the forums with this till someone tells me to buzz off. On the bright side of things, I like a good laugh and can take a good joke. Let's try something, guys.. This Mac Pro late 2013 is some awsome piece of computing powerhouse, it deserves new windows snapping into place.

The newest iTunes update for the iPhone just deleted at least 15 paid apps

I'm not here to be scolded or have any of the sarcastic or "holier than thou" replies said to me. So cut it out and be serious and save me your self righteous indignation.
Problem: In the middle of updating I experienced an error at the VERY last second of updating that showed me a usb plug and the iTunes image. I researched what this was and found out the problem.
*Item 1.)* all songs lost. So what, I am through with you iTunes, I've backed up and saved so many times without you even validating that fact. I've backed up and without fail somehow all songs have been lost in one way or another so I've come to terms I can't be happy when it comes to having songs. If I don't update I'll never get the new features, if I do update I'll lose all songs on my iPod. (also don't give me the "you need to back up" speech, I know, I accidentally deleted my backup hd and now it is serving as my time machine, however this also permanently makes it useless for windows even after "de-activating" it as a time machine)
*Item 2.)* all applications lost.
*Item 3.)* Able to recover 3%out of 100% of applications:
a. For some reason I've backed up my iPhone every time I've connected and also for some unknown reason it decided to tell me my most recent backup was from two months ago. Negating all paid applications I've made for the past two months. This, to say the least is very agitating. Not only am I angry because I lost all of them, I have no way for the iTunes store to have a shred of sympathy and replace the paid applications even though I have all of the email receipts. (if you know a way to contact them so that I can plead my case, although I've done this before and they basically told me to shove off, please direct me to the proper places to inform them)
I'm not trying to be so mean/mad/uninformed on these subjects but I love apple and their products but their failure to help me every time I mess up is disheartening because their system is set up so that I can't mess up. If I do I'm screwed and need to start over. This will be the 30th or so time I've had to start all over and I'm sick of it. Bloody sick of it.

UPDATE: For some reason it specifically elminated 4 applications, twitterfon pro that was updated to ecofon pro, camerazoom (which was $12.00), and my reddit application.
I'm thinking it failed to finalize the most recent update which resulted in deletion of my applications.

Error in the ECC 6 for the addition and deletion of zeros

Hi,
iam working in ECC 6 at the client palce.
Requirementis to add zeros and remove zeros for the LIFNR. Both CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT & CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT while executing showing the information popup as Error generating the test frame. I tested both the function modules in the production system also. The same error is showing.
Please, suggest the soluiton.

anyway, for removing the zero you can use this statement :
example :
l_lifnr = '0000012345'.
shift l_lifnr left deleting leading '0'.
after above statement : l_lifnr = '12345'.

Positive time management is slightly difficult to implement compared to negative time management.
In negative time management, you use planned working times + deviations in time evaluation.
In positive time management, you record actual times through time recording system. You have to bring these times to SAP through an interface and then evaluate the actual times against the planned times and accordingly pay them out. You would need to pay attention regarding the integration between SAP R/3 and time recording system.
Building rules for positive time management is slightly more challenging compared to negative time management.

Reason needed for the status Canceled - Since already processed.

We have an IDOC to PROXY scenario and we encountered an error.
First time the message failed in PI with the error message as

May be handshake was failed while updating the status of of message in XI after handed over it to target syste, please check the same message in Target system with what time it had got (whether the first time only or after resending it).

A challenge for the pros

this one is a tough one.. ive checked all the forum archives this topic has not been "discussed" yet so maybe there is a "pro" out there up to the challenge!! i am trying to convert an mpeg1 into dv for use in imovie. streamclip 1.5.1 will not work i get the message "cannot find video or audio track" is anyone up to the challenge ?? can u figure this one out ?!!

Will the MPEG open in QuickTime and display as Mpeg track? Do you KNOW it is MPEG1?
Give iSquint a try to see if it has the same problem but as they both are built on QuickTime, they both may have the same problems.

A challenge for the Ipod Experts

My 5th Gen 30gb ipod (18 months old )has worked flawlessly until I
upgraded to latest software (1.3) last weekend. Since then, my ipod is
completley knackered and the problems have definetley started since the recent download.Firstly All of the music has been completley erased and when
connected to computer it refuses to sync anything from the library
advising ''error 48''. I spoke to someone at Apple help desk last friday
who emailed me something to fix error 48 but it has not made a bit of
difference - error 48 still keeps coming up. In addition to this my ipod
will not let me re-store to factory settings, when I try this a
different error comes up - saying files in use by another application.Ipod
will therefore not re-store or re-set. I have tried putting it into disk
mode, but again it won't let me. I have completley drained the battery
and re-charged it - still same problem. I have changed the drive letter
on PC- still makes no difference, I have uninstalled and re-install
ed itunes several times - still no difference, constantly comes up
with error 48. As well as this, the ipod is showing up as 25gb of used
disk space on the orange bar, but there is nothing at all on the ipod so
how can it be full? Sometimes it shows up on my computer - sometimes it
doesnt.
My ipod is out of Warranty now and therefore its apparently down to me
to have it fixed??!! I am sooooooooo frustrated because I have taken very good
care of an item that cost me alot of money and which now appears to be
completley useless.
There appears to be a lot of posts recently relating to similar issues following download of software, but nothing specific that seems to fix it. I've tried all of the advice given to others and just nothing works, so could one of the experts please try and help me?

If you get that network message when you try to uninstall iTunes with add/remove programs, you usually need to do an installer clean up with the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility.
Here is a method for full removal of iTunes and related programs with clean up and reinstall:
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup

Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:

*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes.

G5 dual problem - one for the Gurus

We have a dual 2gb G5 that has started giving us strange problems.
In short:
Some weeks ago, it started hanging at startup.
booted from external drive, major repairs on internal drive.
Worked for a while..
Same failure again a few days later.
Now we don't see internal drives at all.
Then it will not boot with network connected.
We get the spinning beachball until network disconnected
! I can have it working for a while...with a weird procedure ! :
I can boot from external FW....if I first disconnect the internal drives,
set the ethernet internal to "manual, 100mb" and not 1gb.
It then works....weird as h*ll....
on reboot I get a white login screen and hang again.
or a blue screen with forever spinning "cogwheel" for disk activity
* Reboot from CD, FW drive is offline and can't be mounted.
* powercycle FW drive, powercycle G5
* Disconnect ethernet, reboot, boot up ok
* reconnect ethernet
.... and it works as if nothing happened...repeateble!
It is then happy, works perfectly!
I am stumped....
Anybody with an idea of what is going on?
A part of the board fubar but not all of it?
Any hints are appreciated.

Yes, I have checked startup disk.
As I wrote, I can set it to boot from an external FW drive.
The drive has backups so that is not an issue.
I just want to get this machine bac in use

Maybe a fubar situation, but maybe something else.
Have you checked in system preferences to make sure
that the internal drive is selected as the boot
drive?
It almost sounds like your system is trying to do a
netboot but cannot find anything from which to boot.
Have you tried disconnecting one internal at a time?
It sounds like your system drive is hosed and your
computer is trying to find something else from which
to boot. It sounds like you may need DiskWarrior if
you want any chance of saving that drive.

Stumper for the gurus- Target Disk Mode malfunction

i used target disk mode to transfer my G4 info to new G5 dual 2.3 Ghz. then i had this great idea to re format the G4, while still in target disk mode, after all files were transferred. now my G4 is stuck. will not boot from start up disk, will not accept new software when plugged back in to the G5 in target disk mode, nada.
when it starts up, i get 1 normal chime then a blue screen with a yellow circle and a few dash marks and a small rectangle that form a 'Y' around the circle. HELP!!

It sounds like your Mac thinks still thinks it should be connected in Target mode - the Jumping Firewire logo shouldn't appear every time at startup without either the T key held or by use of Migration Asst.
how did you disconnect from your new machine the first time? Did you just turn off your old PM or did you "Eject" the drive from your new PM's Desktop?
Can you do any type of reset at startup? PRAM, Open Firmware? Or even if you hold the Alt/Opt key?
Have you tried a PMU reset if your really stuck - though that may not help.

Reasons for "Delete Overlapping Request"

A simple question for you gurus out there. What is the reason for having a process in the process chains to "Delete Overlapping Requests". I am not sure what it really does. Can someone please explain in simple terms the functionality of Delete Overlapping Requests and it's need. Please use an example if possible.

Generally we do this Delete Overlapping Requests for cubes because you have a requirement to do daily full loads(assume incremental data) to Cube from the same DS if you don't delete the previous load .. In cube values gets double which is wrong data.. to avoid duplicates we use this Delete Overlapping Requests in PC .. if you don''t use this process in PC .. everyday manual action will be required to delete previous (yesterdays)request in cube.
Ex.
Req1 15000 records to cube -day1
Req2 15600 records to cube -day2
Req3 15600 records to cube -day3
in cube you will have 46000 records and keyfigures values gets tripple
if you use "Delete Overlapping Request" in PC
always deletes the previous request from the same DS

Delete overlapping requests runs for 5+ hours ...This is too long

We are on BW 3.5 and have a process chain that loads 3 years of data from a cube on the APO Server and AOP data from the BW server into a cube on the BW server. Each load is in its own infopackage. This loads happens every week. We want to delete the loads that occurred the week before using the delete overlapping requests. It is set up as follows:
1.Drop index of Cube
2.Load Current Year data into Cube via Infopackage #1. Loads approximately 32 million records. Selections on calweek: 200701 200752. Infosource: InfoSource for APO-DP Cube from APO(ZAPODP_I11). Datasource: APO-DP Backup Cube(8ZAPODPC73). Source System: APP Client 200(APPCLNT200). The Data targets tab is set up as follows: Automatic Loading of similar/identical requests from the cube wherein Delete Existing Requests Conditions: Infosources are the same. Selections are overlapping.
3.Load Current Year + 1 data into Cube via Infopackage #2. Loads approximately 32 million recordsSelections on calweek: 200801 200852. Rest is same as above #2.
4.Load Current Year +2 data into Cube via Infopackage #3. Loads approximately 32 million recordsSelections on calweek: 200901 200952. . Rest is same as above #2.
5.Load AOP data into Cube via Infopackage #4. Loads approximately 135,000 records. Infosource: AOP Plan(8ZAOPC01). Datasource: AOP Plan(8ZAOPC01). Source System: BW Production(BWPCLNT100). The Data targets tab is set up as follows: Automatic Loading of similar/identical requests from the cube wherein Delete Existing Requests Conditions: Infosources are the same. Selections are overlapping
6.Create index on cube
7.Delete overlapping requests from cube. The process chain step is set up to Use Delete Selections for Infocubes from the Infopackages
The issue is that step #7 runs for more than 5 hours. That is way too long. When we manually delete the requests, it takes 5 minutes. How can I fine tune this processing? Thanks in advance!


What is your dbms? Does it support partitioning? If it does then deleting requests merely drops the corresponding partitions, which should be very fast.
If it does not support partitioning then you're running SQL delete statements to delete the data, which could take a long time if you're deleting tens of million of records. BTW how long does it take to load the same data?
P.S. Just saw your last point about manually deleting the requests taking only 5 minutes. Did you delete one request at a time or multiple request at once? The previous poster wanted to know whether you had background processes to run the deletion job. i.e. Did the deletion really took 5 hours, or did it wait a few hours to start the job?
