Change a movie's audio track name

Hi guys! My first post here)
So my problem is the following. I have downloaded a few series of a TV show I watch now. Each video has two audio tracks: Russian and English. However in each video they both are titled as "unknown language" track. It would be so much easier for me if there was a way to rename them into proper "Russian" and "English".
Hope that someone knows how to solve this.

  • Move all audio track anchors at one time together

Move all audio track anchors at one time together..is this possible? I imported a remix, figured out the tempo. Now I want to make the tracks ( regions) all start on a downbeat to align with my measures..thx in advance for your assistance..

    > How do you do that?
I'd begin by reading the Beat Mapping Track section in the Reference manual, p. 337...
    > They are not referencing anything.
Oh, yes, they are: these anchors actually reference the first sample to be played... Presumably, they were recorded to start together and play along, right? When you dragged them, they all landed as new audio regions starting at the beginning of the same bar, since their respective anchors are all aligned at the start of the so-called region. These anchors will stick to the tick they landed to, whatever tempo change you make, unless you move the regions.
    Or maybe you're missing something?...

  • Movies - Multiple audio tracks strange problem

    This is a strange problem.
I have a .mov with 2 audio tracks. One italian (the first and active) and one english. The movie is compatible with ATV.
Using QuickTime Pro I can choose the language while watching the movie.
Using iTunes I see the movie with the first language selected on preferences (cmd+j on QuicTime Pro).
On ATV the same movie plays just English, the second language, and this is quite strange.
Does anyone have the same problem?
    Greetings
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Hmm, I don't really know. I have converted the DVD with 128 kbps for the two audio traks (stereo).Sounds like I need to go back and run additional tests. For my first attempt, I used two stereo tracks -- each 128 Kbps @ 44.1 KHz. For latest test used two mono tracks with the first 64 Kbps @ 44.1 KHz (keyed to English) and the second 32 Kbps @ 32 KHz (keyed to Italian).
I create a m4v video, I open with QuickTime Pro and work on the preferences for audio traks, than I save with mov extension.Had assumed we were both using similar strategies to create alternate audio movies here. Basically I create the movie with two audio tracks and then open the "Properties" window, select the first audio track (which is already set for English), set the alternate audio track pop-up for Audio Track 2, select the second audio track, set the language pop-up to Italian for this one, and use the Save As... menu option to create a Fast Sart, Standalone movie in the MOV container.
In this way I have a perfect double-language movie that, as I told, works perfectly on QuickTime and iTunes.Did have one question though. When you say you have a "perfect double-language movie that ... works perfect on QuickTime and iTunes," are you saying you can change the language in iTunes while the movie is playing? While I have no problem changing language using the "Choose language" menu command in the QT player, I have yet to be able to find a way to do this while playing in iTunes.
UPDATE: to temporally solve the problem I have changed the infos on movie properties. Calling the English audio track "Holland" (or any other language that is listed after Italian) I have solved the problem. On Tv, iTunes and Quicktime I can hear the "default" language (italian) and, just changing again the properties, I cand hear the second language.I think we are doing the same thing only I did not bother/have to use and additial language setting to get this to work.
In this case Audio Track 2 (Italian) is the default.
In this case Audio Track 1 (English) is the default.
Thus, for my test, I created two separate movies with each defaulted differently and played them back in each program/device to see which audio track played. In each case it was the "checked" default audio track and changing the "Language" setting for TV to Italian had no effect.

  • OMG - Help! Why can't I freely move an audio track?

I'm not a novice to iMovie '11, but this is the first time I've had to sync an audio track to the video. Basically, it's a music video. The audio track is the song. I need to sync the video to the track, and the video will be cut into numerous clips. Before Apple totally screwed with the interface, I could have two audio tracks which allowed me to freely move the audio to any point in the video. And it laid out the entire "song" so that I could just keep adding video clips to it and know where the heck I was in the audio. Now when I add an audio track, it gives me a tiny clip of it - I can't extend it to see the entire thing. When I try to add it to existing video in the timeline, it only goes to the end of the video - I can't extend it or move it to sync up. It's locked in place. Am I going to have to go through and edit the audio and the video down exactly before they sync up? That's gonna take me forever. At this point, I wish I could go back to iMovie HD where I could get this down in a straightforward way. I don't get the new system at all, and I've about had it.

Sarah, I think what is happening is you are creating a 'background audio' clip. What you can do to delete that background clip first is to go to the Project Browser on the timeline and click the colored area behind the video clips that designates the audio track. When you see a yellow highlight around the whole audio section (it will be colored in either green or purple) hit delete.
Now to drag the audio clip into the timeline you will first need at least one video clip sitting there to act as an anchor for your floating audio track. Drag the audio and drop dead center on that video clip. iMovie will understand that this is fundamentally different than a background track and give you a floating title bubble you can drag left and right as needed. And depending on the length of the song you should be able to see the whole thing if you need it by using the zoom slider underneath the Project Browser window, lower right.
When you need to cut down the length of a video clip, first select the whole thing by holding CTRL then clicking on the clp. Then drag the left/right edges of the video clips where you would like them to matchup in the beat of the song. The handles on the sides can then be used to Trim Clip to selection, to shorten the length. With the clip highlighted and the selection handles dragged into postion go to Clip Menu>Trim to selection

  • Change volume for whole audio track

    Hi gang,
I feel like I am missing something obvious ...
I have a stereo background noise that recurs across my sequence. It is pasted into audio tracks A13 and A14 with crossfades between each occurrence. I want to fade the volume of all of them at the same time (i.e. all of the audio clips pasted into A13 and A14). If I select all of them by dragging a box using the mouse, it does not set the volume for all of the clips, only the last
How do you change the volume for a whole track?
    Cheers!

whats more, had you already manually adjusted some clips but not others and then wanted to adjust all the clips to the same level regardless of your previous adjustment then there's really no need to remove levels attributes, or redit etc etc ... you just follow the same steps posted above, choosing "Absolute" as the Gain adjustment - all clips regardless of previous levels will be set to the absolute level you specify.

  • Changing The Tempo Of Audio Tracks....Help Please!!

    Hi,
I've been pulling my hair out! I bought Logic 9 today, and have been trying to find my feet making a mashup of Enya's Orinoco Flow and The Prodigy Smack My B*tch Up....It's one of the easiest 2 tracks to mix apparently. Right...to the problem, and i'm sure it's a simple one for anyone with some Logic knowledge...
The BPM for the prodigy song in audio track 1 is 136.2 which is the base bpm i want to keep for the song...
I then import Enya into Audio track 2....How on earth do i change the tempo of the enya track to 136.2 ??!! I have tried everything (Except what works, clearly)
I hope that makes sense...Any help would be apreciated!
    Thanks

Are they? Wow, I had to read that bit twice, but I suppose the suggestion is that they're not too far apart in terms of tempo anyway - try establishing the tempo of both of them exactly, then you've got an idea about how much you need to adjust one against the other if the maths is too difficult (it is often for me, I prefer just to listen to it and try things and then decide).
Have a look at using the Time Machine for starters, anyway and do a bit of research in the manual and the Software Instruments manual as well - you can do things like that with the EXS24 sampler but in a different way, you know.

  • Video embedded audio track names wrong in iOS6?

I have an iPad 1 (iOS 5) and iPad 2 (iOS4) and an iPad 3 (new iPad) with iOS6
For our application we have a webapp that can show video. The video is transcoded to m4v and containst embedded subtitles and languages.
In the iOS4 and iOS 5 device I can maximize the video and select an audio track from the list (Englis, French, Spanish). If I run the same webapp in iOS6 and select the same movie I can select languages as well but they are named "Stereo, Stereo, Stereo".
To make it even worse: i also have an iPod touch with iOS6. If I press the "Language and subtitle" button while playing the movie (again same webapp and movie) the player removes the bottom controls at all, and it is not possible to play/pause etc anymore.
Are these bugs in the iOS6 player? If so, is Apple working on a hotfix update to solve them ?

Additional info that I just found:
the movie runs in an webapp in the video tag
I start the movie with embedded audio and subtitles in portrait orientation of the device
When the movie is playing I turn the device to landscape
Now the subtitle button shows up. Press the subtitle button
The controls at the bottom seem to dissappear
Turn the device back to portrait
    Press the Done button
See the Audio / Subitle selection menu popping up shortly above the movie
    The controls now are restored.
Seems that the audio / subtitle selection menu is opening behind the movie. This happens in iPod only, it does not happen in iPad with iOS6. It also does not happen with the normal video player App.
Any way to use the iOS builtin video player app for the video tag in a web app?

  • Using Quicktime Audio .mov As Audio Track

    Hi folks.
I have an external microphone which I record into Quicktime as my audio track. Functions much better as audio for what I am recording.
My video is an independent HD camera, which I import afterwards into iMovie '09. I want to mute the camera audio, and use the microphone audio. How do I do that? It's a .mov, and I can only see it through using the iTunes importation, which is bad enough.
Do I have to translate to an MP3 first? I don't want to compress it.
    Cheers

iM09 has the drag-n-drop feature that you can use with the 2nd video clip that has your audio, and simply select the "Audio Only option" when you drop it on your main clip. See if this resolves your problem.
Workaround is to convert it to any of the supported formats - AAC, MP3, etc. to use as a standalone audio track.
And don't forget to either manually reduce the volume (under Audio tab when you dbl-click the clip) of the unwanted audio track to zero, or use ducking to reduce volume of the alternate track.

  • Need to move an audio track from one mkv to another one

    Hi,
I'm trying to recover some files that were deleted by a customer.
    We have in hand:
    1) High Resolution MKV ( H264 + AC3 ) of a final video product (a couple of header videos about 1:44s have been added to the head).  ~ 1h10m
    2) Low Resolution MKV  ( MP4  + MP3 ) of a final vidoe product but with a different audio track.
Now it was easy enough to extract all of these into their individual components.
So What I really have is:
    1) H.264 1920x1080 video
    2) AC3 of final audio track
    3) Commentary track
Now what the customer wants is to combine these into a single video package (mkv) that has a "director's commentary" track.
I pulled the components into Premier CC but for some reason it can't seem to be able to keep up with the 1920 source video (??? shows a few frames, stops for 30 seconds [audio continues] then another couple of frames of video, etc.. ) so that I can drop in the commentary audio in the right place.
Now this machine is no slough, it's a i7-4820k @ 3.70 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD drives, win 8.1 64-bit.   I have done a ton of DSLR videos but never a .264 file.
    1) Any idea on why the video isn't keeping up in "Program"? At Full, 1/4 or 1/8?
    2) How do I create the final output with multiple distinct tracks?  [ I've never done that before ]
    Thanks.

How do I create the final output with multiple distinct tracks?
Adobe Suite is the wrong tool for doing this job. You need to mux them in e.g. ffmpeg, using -map option and -itsoffset if audio stream from your low res MKV has different duration.

  • Won't let me save as archive nor change software instrument to audio track

You were able to do both of these before iLife 09. Also, I see the option to archive, but it won't let me select it. Anyone?

One: Locking a track mixes it down to an audio track (hidden in the project package in a folder called "Freeze Files") that is being used on playback, so the computer doesn't have to render the software instruments.
Two: If by "sound modules" you mean the software instruments - no, they are not included in a "Save as Archive" file. As I said, it's the audio loops and copied regions. Try adding a blue audio loop to your song, and the "Save as Archive" option will appear!

  • Bogus audio track names from audiobook

I just downloaded and installed version 7.4.3.1. I recently purchased an audiobook and attempted to load itonto the Ipod ( which I have had no previous problems doing ). When Itunes recognizes the CD it appears in my devices screen with bogus information for the CD name, the author and I always now see 99 tracks with names of songs in my library. Is this a new bug??

As far as I know, you can only generate track names on CD's from Gracenote if the order, the amount of tracks and the time per track on your CD is correct (= original).
So, if you have complete albums, and you are able to 'reconstruct' them as described above (same tracks in same order as on the original CD), than burn a CD from this. Mount this CD in iTunes, and let it search in Gracenote; if you did a good job, you will receive your track names. You can now re-import your tracks to iTunes.
But, when the albums that are incomplete or when you don't want to spoil all this empty CD's, I think you'll have to retype all your track names. Maybe you can look for the track names on Gracenote or amazon and copy-paste this.
One good thing : if you have converted your AAC's to AIFF's (that's how I understand it), you did get rid of the protection and you will be able to burn as many CD's from this songs as you want

  • Can I move an audio track in between frames

    Hello All
    I'm on a Mac using CS5.5
I imported and placed on the timeline a live concert piece that consists of audio and video.
On the 2nd audio track I placed the studio recorded version of the song.
I'm trying to exactly sync the two, but the they are like a half a frame apart and I cant get the either of the track to place between or nudge between frames.  I can see this by looking at their audio waveforms of the kick drum.
I realize that the 1/2 frame delay in visual to audio cues, ie. clapping hands, or dance steps may not be noticeable at 24 frames per second, but if I were at 15 fps or 10 fps it might be, and I just wanted to know if there was a way to nudge an audio track between frames.
Or is my only solution to go to an Audio Editing program and shave off a 1/2  frame worth of audio from the front, save and reimport into premiere.
    Thanks In Advance
    Cris is Bliss

What you want is to enable the non-discoverable and confusingly named "Show Audio Time Units" option for the Timeline panel's flyout menu (upper-right corner).
Then, you can drag audio clips on a (audio) sample by sample basis.

  • Record quicktime movie without audio track?

There are many posts out there trying to troubleshooting when there is no audio during quicktime recording, but there are some scenarios that I would like to do recording without audio track at all. What is the best way to achieve this besides muting my microphone? Thanks!

  • Am I being stoopid - changing multiple sends in Audio/Track MIxer

    Hi
I can set the send bus in multiple tracks by shift clicking and doing it in one channel strip. According to the manual I should also be able to set the send level, pan etc for all selected channel strips simultaneously. When I try this it doesnt work - is there any reason?
    best
    Tommy Banana

You are right that is what it seems to do. But the manual says:
Audio Objects in the Audio and Track Mixer
Audio Objects are the building blocks of the Audio Mixer, and an important part of the
Track Mixer. In the following section, you will learn about the differences between
Audio Object types and how you can use them.
    Multiple Selection of Audio Objects
Logic allows multiple Audio Object faders to be selected (by Shift-clicking) in the Track
Mixer and Audio Mixer. The class (Instrument, Audio, Bus, Aux, and so on) of the
    channel doesn’t matter.
To deselect multiple channels, click on any unselected channel. You can also select a
previously unselected track in the Arrange window.
Once selected, all channels behave as a temporary “group”, allowing you to quickly
adjust a number of settings on all selected faders by performing an operation on one
of the grouped faders. To adjust the listed parameters on all selected channels, follow
    these instructions:
    • Volume: Simply drag the Volume slider on any selected channel. All volume changes
    are relative and logarithmic.
    • Pan: Drag the Pan knob on any selected channel. All pan changes are relative.
    • Mute: Click the Mute button on any selected channel. The Mute buttons of all
selected channels will switch to the new mode.
    • Solo: Click the Solo button on any selected channel. The Solo buttons of all selected
channels will switch to the new mode.
    • Record Enable: Click the Record enable button on any selected channel. The Record
Enable buttons of all selected channels will switch to the new mode (note that only
channels with different input sources can be record enabled simultaneously).
    • Send Level: Drag the Send level knob on any selected channel. All Send level knobs
of the corresponding Send slots change accordingly (relative changes).
    • Send Destination: Click-hold on any of the selected channel’s Send slot(s), and make
your selection from the list. The corresponding Send slots of all selected channels will
be routed to the chosen destination.
    • Inserts: Click-hold on any of the selected channel’s Insert slot(s), and make your
selection from the list. The selected effect will be inserted into the corresponding
Insert slot on all selected channels.
This I can't do - without using groups.
