Change a Request from Local to Transportable

Hi
I need (once again) a help. I have a Local Request (Workbench Organizer) but I need to change it to Transportable... How can I do?

Hi,
You can do it using SE03. using the <b>Include Objects In a Transport Request</b>, click on it.
and then Choose selected Objects
choose the correct the oBjects and run it, and then from the tree list select the object and press SAVE Button and create the Request.

Basically my requirement is to do a selective deletion of the cube, before I load the new data, but the selective deletion has to be done according to some fields of the data that is going to be load to the cube.

Change XSD reference from Local to MDS in existing application

Hi
I have tired MDS upload and delete for XSD and WSDL files using ant scripts. It got uploaded without errors.
But i need to know if there is a BPEL application already having multiple XSD (within project - local) and have the reference of those XSD across multiple WSDL. If i upload the XSDs alone on to MDS and delete them from the project (ie., from local), I am ending up with compile time error saying reference not found in the WSDL.
Is there any way that we can change the reference of the XSD files from local on to MDS path in the existing WSDL automatically once we upload things on to MDS.

I doubt you can get this done automatically. If your wsdl 's has xsd import from local file system, you will have to manually change the location to mds oramds://...format.
So the best way to do this is to maintain the same structure in mds in the local file system ,use the oramds import in all wsdl's and specify the mapping to the actual file system location in adf-config.

How can I change a Class from LOCAL and add to transport?.

For some reason one of my Z classes has been created as a local object. I need to add into my transport.
I could do this manually by just editing the transport, I think, but I can't remember how to change the class itself to point to a transport.
Has anyone done this before?
I'm sure I shall kick myself when I find out.

Please go to trx. SE24. In menu GOTO->OBJECT DIRECTORY ENTRY.
With this simples steps you can change what you need.
Sometimes when we are enhancing components some classes are created as local objects and I don't know why....If someone knows why this happens... please share!

Newbie question - Changing domain name from .local

Hi, I'm trying to change my domain name from dns.local to dns.domain.edu. Can someone help me with this. The server was already set up and some places it has:
dns.local and other places is has dns.domain.edu. when i type in dns.domain.edu into a browser it works. when i type in dns.local i get an error.

Leave the .local alone. That is your Bonjour access name.
Bonjour is also known as ZeroConf in the Unix world, and is how your Mac discovers other Macs, Mac file servers, and Mac print servers on your local network (also know as a subnet).
You can add search domains via
System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> DNS -> Search Domains -> [+]
A search domain is where you can enter 'fred' and the name lookup will look for fred.local, fred.domain.edu assuming both .local and .domain.edu are provied as search domains.
As to other people finding your via dns.domain.edu, that is up to the domain.edu name servers, and their administrators. Your Mac does not establish that, unless they have a dynamic DNS updating service.
To have a DNS name in a domain, your DNS name must be registered with the domain server that owns that domain name. That is not automatic.
In this case if you have not already been assigned dns.domain.edu by the domain name and fixed IP address by the owners of domain.edu, then you cannot just take the name dns.domain.edu. If you have been assigned the name dns.domain.edu and a fixed IP address, then you would set that up in System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> TCP/IP
At best, if domain.edu allows the DHCP servers on campus to both assign an IP address and also create a dynamic DNS name in domain.edu, then you might get a name like
college-name-192-168-27-232-subnet-12-dorm-name.domain.edu
A very creative and memorable name
If you cannot get the domain.edu administrators to give you dns.domain.edu as an addressable name, you can go ahead and get a dynamic DNS name from a service such as No-IP.com or DynDNS.org (free ones are available), and just run one of their dynamic DNS updating utilities on your Mac so that when your DHCP IP address changes, your dynamic DNS name is updated with the new IP address as well.
A dynamic DNS name service such as the 2 I just mentioned, will give you a fixed name such as fred.dynamicDNSnameService.net that will not change, and when you run an updating utility on your Mac, the dynamic DNS service will keep the fred.dynamicDNSnameService.net updated with the every changing DHCP assigned IP address.

Changing Task Server from local machine to remote machine

Hello all, and thanks for reading this.
My question is this, and I apologize if I've missed something in the forums and online, but I can't seem to find the answer to this question anywhere.
I have ARD on my laptop as the task server, but we've bought another copy to place on an XSERVE as a centralized task server. What I want to do is change the package installation routines so that the XServe is the autoinstall box. I can't seem to find any documentation that explains how to do this.

Add the FQDN or I.P address of your server in this pane on your book(basically your pointing your book to your installed software on the other machine). Setup your server with the installs you want it to make, and administer it via your book (or any machines with another unlimited ARD) IF you want report generation, you would schedule the clients to send the info to the server. A task server can only do 2 things, install packages or change client settings, thats it.

Change the status of the request from Released to un released.

Dear all
Some requests were created with no target system and were released.
these requests are to be transported to our Production System.
Is there any other way to transport these requests?
things I tried.
1. I tried to find the files in Cofile and datafile but could not find in trans folder.
2. tried to add the objects to new requests but facing problem while adding the key to the request.

Hi,
you have created the requests as local requests, it means you haven't mentioned Target system it will be treated as local requests so it wont create Cofiles and Datafiles.
and you can use the option Transport of copies and check. actually u can't change the request from the Rleased to Unreleased.
you have to create new request that's the only way if your not able to copy the objects to the new request or if the transport of copies wont work.

Hi Alex:
Yes, you can change the current installation from Local to Domain based; I don't think there's a document to perform that; do the following:
1) Create both the Service Account and the <SID>ADM users on the DC.
2) Add the computer has a member of the new domain and logon with the new domain user <SID>ADM to create the domain user profile in the server. The logoff and logon with the local <SID>ADM now copy the current user profile to the new domain based; that is to have all environment variables in the new domain user. You can do this from My Computer (right click)
3) Add the users account from the domain as a member of the local Administrators and any SAP (global and local) groups in the local server.
4) Shutdown the SAP instance and DB instance; I assume you are running MSSQL Server 2000.
5) Shutdown the SQL Server services.
6) Now open Services.msc and search for the SAP services; double click on it and go to Logon tab and change the account from LOCAL to DOMAIN based; I will suggest browsing within the new domain to find the user IDs.
7) Repeat each step for every SAP instance service and for the SQL services if they are configured with the Local SAP accounts.
8) Start DB and SAP
I think that's all!
BTW; have a current backup always!!!

If I understand you correctly you are talking about the request when pressing an button which you can use with validation, after submit processes and page branches?
What I mean is the request you can specify in the url redirect of a button or in the page branch.
I'll give you a detailed explanation of my problem:
I have a page with 3 regions, only 1 is shown at the same time. I have 3 buttons on this page, button 1 has no request, button 2 has request 'B', button 3 has request 'C'.
Region A is shown as default and it's condition is:
where request is not contained within B,C
Region B has condition: request = B
Region C has condition: request = C
Now I want Region B to be the default region under certain conditions, so change the request from null to 'B'.
When I take :REQUEST as default for a textfield I get the expected result, so it's not set to null. But when I want to change the value of the :REQUEST-variable I get an error:
Error ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "REQUEST" in application

GOTO transaction SMARTFORMS.
Enter the name of the smartform.
Then GOTO -> OBJECT DIRECTORY ENTRY.
There give ur package then it will ask for the request.
Then create the request.

I have already assigned Infopackage to TR, but its not required. We dont want this infopackage to be transported to prod. So how can i change that as a local object.

Go To that Infopackage ,
Extras Menu----Object catalog entry. There you can change package name.
or
In SE09---Under the transport requests you can search for the infopackage name and delete from the TR.

CMOD Project need to move from local Object into Transport request

On the first screen of your project, choose following menu path:
"goto => object directory entry"
press on the change icon
you can now assign a different package.

You can create Change Request using two ways.
You can create a Change Request from a Service Desk Message using the action "Create Change Request" or you can create a Change Request directly in transaction CRMD_ORDER.

There are help pages that discuss creation of transports.
In simple terms, you: create a transport package
add objects to the package export the package, plus optionally any related objects to a predefined folder/directory on the portal server into a file with an extension of .EPA copy the .EPA file to the import folder of your QA system and import it test the contents on the QA system copy the .EPA file to the import folder of your production system and import it Create a transport package file
Here is the step by step procedure to create a transport package:
For Export
1. Go to system administration, and click on transport?export.
2. In the middle pane, select the folder you want to export and right click on the Transport Package. 3. Fill in the General Properties i.e the name of the package, id and description. 4. And say finish and open the object for editing.
5. When the object has been opened then right click on the object you want to transport, and say "Add object to the Transport Package".
6. Check the checkbox of the item u have added and see the properties if it has been added properly. 7. Now click on the save button.
8. After the object is saved, click on the export button. 9. U will have an option to select where to store the .epa file which will be generated. U can overwrite an existing one by selecting the browse button, or store it with the generated name in the location it automatically generates. 10. Now Click on the Start Export button.
11. once the export is completed, it shows a report on how much time is taken to generate the .epa file. 12. Here there is an option for downloading the .epa file. Click on the link and download the file. This file is ready to be uploaded into any other EP Server.
For Import:
Pre-requisites: You have to copy the .epa file created while export into the local drive. Optionally, you have to manually copy the .epa file generated in the export function into the Import directory of the server ie. chooseFollow the steps below for importing a certain file. 1. Go to System Administration in the portal, and click on Transport?Import. 2. For the source of the package, Click on the radio button Server for the .epa file you have copied lately. Else, click on the radio button on client if you are operating in the client and select the .epa file you have stored on the local drive. 3. Now select the file from the browse option and click on Upload.
4. Now click on the import button. 5. Once the import process is finished, the report is shown. In the whole process, the par files are not included in the .epa files. For the par files to be included into the .epa files then we have to change the pcdStartup.properties file in the server. The property to be changed is Pcd.TransportApplication.Export.ExcludeObjectTypesAfterRuleProcessing: Keep this property's value as empty for enabling the par files to be uploaded into the .epa. You can check for this property in the portal in the following -System Administration-Support-Portal Content Directory-PCD Configuration.

How to import a Change request from One application to another application.

In SRM Dev system I have created a Change request (Transport Request) and released to the QA system.The Change request has imported successfully to the SRM QA system.
Now the Case is:
The Released Request in the SRM Dev system has to be Export to the CRM Dev system.
Is it possible to Export the Released Change Request from SRM system to CRM system?
If possible then can you provide me with the solution.
