  • Photosmart 4780 Wireless connection without USB cable on mac!!!

    Dear all,
My mac pro does recognize the printer via USB connection anymore. I tried to turn on the wireless connection on the 4780 but could not find 'hpsetup' in wireless networks.....
Is there any other way to connect this thing wirelessly or do i need to buy a new printer ??
    regard
    Ruben

Hey everyone.. I have the ultimate solution for this:
1- On your small printer screen, go to wireless settings, press on WSP - press "push button"
2- Go to your wireless router panel - by using the IP address of the router (mine is 198.122.3.3), go to "Wireless" and press the WSP Button (two rounded arrows)
    another option:
1- On your small printer screen, go to wireless settings, press on WSP - press "Pin"
2- Go to your wireless router panel, go to "Wireless" and pput the PIN number that you see on the small screen.

  • HP 3050A J611 Wireless Connectivity issue

I have an HP 3050A J611 which I have used (successfully) wirelessly for a couple of years.  I have used a MiFi 2200 Verizon internet device to connect wirelessly to both my laptop and the printer, printing and scanning successfully.  I recently changed to an Ellipsis Jetpack 523C (Verizon), and I'm attempting to connect the printer (3050A) to the laptop via this Jetpack.  I can't figure out how to communicate the printer and the Jetpack.  I can't find the place on the printer control panel where I enter the Jetpack password, or where the printer shows available networks......anyone?

    Hello cmw71,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I understand that you're having issues getting the Deskjet 3050A back onto the wireless network since changing to an Ellipsis Jetpack. I will do my best to help you with this.
I have located a document for you that should be helpful in resolving the issue. The reason why you cannot find the setting on the printer would be due to that fact they don't exist. As explained in the document, there are only two was to connect this printer Wirelessly. Via Auto Wireless Connect, or USB setup of Wireless.
Installing the Printer Software for a Wireless Network Connection.
Please follow the document for your operating system. Let me know if you encounter any errors or difficulties and require further assistance.

  • TS1253 I am connected to internet through  modem. How can I use Time Capsule as a wreless harddrive and connection to USB printer

Can I use a Time Capsule as a part of my network> I am connected to internet through modem and want to use Time capsule as  a wireless harddrive and wireless connection to usb printer. How can I do that? Please help

This type of setup is not officially supported by Apple.
It might be possible to configure the Time Capsule this way, but please take a minute to consider a few things that you may not have thought about, as this is...frankly....the worst possible way that you could configure the Time Capsule.
Wireless backups will take twice as long as normal wireless.  Why? The signal must make a "double hop".
Hop "one" would be from your Mac to the wireless router, then the signal must make hop "two" to get back to the Time Capsule.
In addition to doubling the time for backups to occur, this doubles the chances for an error to occur during a backup.
The Ethernet ports are not enabled at all on the Time Capsule when it is configured this way, so backup over much faster Ethernet is not possible.
The USB port is enabled, so assuming that the printer is compatible, it could be configured to connect that way. Keep in mind that only printing is supported. If you have an All-in-One device, advanced functions like scan, copy, maintenenance will not be supported.
So, do you really want to try this?  There are no guarantees here that things will work at all.

  • Upgrading printer firmware when already have wireless connection - change connection?

Instructions for almost any device, including HP Pro 8600 printer, is don't do firmware upgrades over wireless connections.  If the printers already set up as wireless, how do you change (easily) to USB or ethernet, do the upgrade, then change back to wireless?
Or no matter what, is it going to be one giant hassle to upgrade firmware, if you set the printer up as wireless?
Firmware aside, I'm starting to regret I ever set it up wirelessly.  More trouble than it's worth.
    Thanks.

It's pretty simple.  Just follow the instructions on how to connect your printer via USB and it will install.  Perform your upgrade.  Once done, disconnect the USB cable and connect wirelessly to your router.  I've done it, takes about 10 minutes.

  • My Epson XP - 400 will not print wirelessly or via USB. The documents just sits in the print queue while the computer is "searching for the printer".  I set up the printer on the computer and it is connected to the wireless network.

I'm unable to print wirelessly or connected via USB with my Epson XP-400. The computer continues to say it's searching for the printer even though the printer is set up on the computer, the printer is connected to the wireless network and the USB is plugged into the computer.

Try resetting your Mac's printing system as shown here:

  • Windows downloading data unnecessarily from the internet when connected to wireless (wifi connection) or USB wireless 3G connection

    Hello Team/windows Experts,
I need help from  you people on this issue that i am facing. I tried to find out the exact reason behind this, however i am not successful on this.
    Here is the issue:
I recently re-formatted my laptop and re-installed windows 8.1. After that, I installed only couple of software program i.e. Mozilla Firefox and installed Bit defender total security 2015 and I updated my Antivirus software. I have two ISP connections, one
is USB 3G wireless connection and another one is a normal wired connection to which a wireless router is connected (wifi connection).
Now, this is what I have seen happening. The moment i connect to the 3G usb wireless connection and even if i don't open any browser or website, I see that the data is being downloaded and i can see enormous amount of data being downloaded for no reason
and I couldn't find as to what is being downloaded to my system. One can imagine and understand 10-15 Mb downloaded in couple of minutes and the connection sitting idle and not downloading anything later is fine, but if nothing is being accessed/browsed and
still seeing 200-300 mb data being downloaded is something to be watched for.
The same situation was seen when i enabled my wireless connection from another ISP provider (wifi) and don't know within a minute or so 50 MB data was consumed and to see what its actually doing, i waited for another 5 -10 minutes and huge data was downloaded
    (may be another 100-200 MB).
Now before using my internet connection, I have done the following to ensure that unnecessary data is not downloaded from both USB 3G and wifi connection:
    1. I don't run any torrents. They are absent.
    2. I disabled automatic windows update
    3. I have disabled live tiles so that consant update to the windows app tiles are off.
    4. I have turned metered connection on for both the networks.
    5. I don't download anything from internet unless very important related to my studies. I do very normal browsing.
I am pretty sure that antivirus signatures are not more than 5 mb or so (they are even smaller in files), so they won't eat that much data.
If at all, I have to see what is being downloaded to my system, where can i find that detail/information?
How should I stop this from happening as i have to watch my 3g USB stats every now and then to see if its downloading lot of data or not?
As this is a recently formatted system, I don't see any malware/virus issues as I have my system protected. Although now software can protect the system fully, but still i haven't access/browsed any website that might cause issues to my system. However,
this is something i am trying to find out and if you guys can help/suggest me, it would be great.
    Warm Regards,
    R Janak Sundhar

    Hello Janak,
       1. make absolutely sure windows update is disabled, for this test.
       2.  Disable windows defender etc. for this test.
       3.  go though  programs and features and remove anything that is not needed or you thing might be sucking bandwidth.
        4.  hit CTRL ALT DEL, select task manager, more details, startup tab and disable everything as a possible cause of your issue.
See if any of this makes a difference.
    Thanks, John

  • Internet wireless connection shuts down when iPhone in USB port

Hi. I bought a new iPhone 3G 2 days ago. Whenever I plug it into my PC USB port to sync, my internet wireless connection shuts down (a dongle is plugged into another USB port). Have you heard of this happening before? Is it likely to be the iPhone, the new version of iTunes or the PC causing the problem? Many thanks for your assistance.

    Your welcome.
A USB memory pen does not draw any power - as does the iPhone.
Apple recommends connecting the iPhone direct to a USB 2.0 port on your computer - not to a USB hub if there is one available.
Do you know if this computer has USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports? If the former, USB 1.1 is not supported.
My PowerBook is approaching 4 years old and still going strong - running Apple's current operating system, but Snow Leopard will be comptible with Intel Macs only, so I'm reaching the end of the line OS version wise with my 4 year old Mac. I don't know many 4 year old PCs running Vista. My Mac has USB 2.0, and I regularly charge other USB devices while my iPhone is connected and while syncing - no problem.

  • I have changed my internet connection to Huawei e586 modem 3g 4g wireless modem my Air Play not working any more

I have apple TV 3rd generation it use to work fine through the previous modem(THOMSON TG585 v7)
I have changed my internet connection now using Huawei e586 modem 3g 4g wireless modem
At the moment There is internet connection in the apple TV  I can manage only through the apple remote. But I can’t  AIR PLAY or mirroring from iphone
I can see the AIR Play but I can’t play any music or video in the apple TV. Also I am sure I have activated the home sharing in  I tunes/Remote app/apple TV
Personally I think because the connection setting, but I do not know how to fix it can someone advise please?

    MOG,
I have a similar problem with this HG8245, but I can't even see the airplay icon in my iOS devices nor my MB Pro. However, I discover by accident that it works very well if I connect the ATV through the wifi interface (tested with my iPhone 4 and iPad 3Gen both w/iOS 6.0.1, and my MB Pro w/OS X 10.8.2). But as soon as I connect the ATV through the ethernet port, it disappears from all my devices.
So my guess is that there is some issue (i.e. undocumented filtering)  between the wifi and the ethernet interfaces. I have reviewed the HG8245 configuration  but I haven't found how to solve this. Have you figured out how to solve it? I will try to use some port scanner to see if there is some difference im using the wifi and the ethernet ports and will post the findings.

  • TS1398 Hi I run the 6.0.2 patch and I stiil have the same problem, no wifi connection even if i change the wireless antenna and the security any ideas??

Hi I run the 6.0.2 patch and I stiil have the same problem, no wifi connection even if i change the wireless antenna and the security any ideas??

There are two steps to the update for an iPhone 5. First you run the patch then you update the iOS. Did you do both? And does iOS 6.0.2 show up in Settings > General > About > Version
The first thing apple will tell you to do if you bring them the phone is to reset the phone. Try that before going any further.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • USB drive kills wireless connection?

I have a MacBook Pro Late 2008 2.4ghz running OS X 10.6.4. When I plug in my LaCie portable HD via USB, it almost always kills the wireless connection. The LaCie is bus powered, and the connection is via a single USB port.
The LaCie works fine. I never have a problem with it. But it not only has a tendency to disconnect my wireless connection (to a Linksys wrt-54g), but it prevents my MBP from reconnecting. The airport icon will keep searching, and pop up the wireless connection window, but when I try re-connecting to my wireless network with WAP password, it'll fail to connect. When I eject the usb drive, wireless will work fine again.
This doesn't happen every time, but it's fairless consistent. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it?

Obviously, this isn't supposed to happen. Try resetting your computer's PRAM. If that doesn't do the trick, reset your computer's SMC.
If that doesn't do the trick, it could be a software issue. You can search Apple's download website for the correct Combo Updater for your OS (10.5.8 for Leopard, 10.6.4 for Snow Leopard).
If that doesn't do it, I would take the machine to an Apple Store or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider and have it looked at.
    Good luck!
