  • Changing album art

how do i change album art.
i accidentaly dragged the wrong art into the song
so it displayes the wrong art
i tried putting the right art in but it shows the wrong one with the option to see the one i want

OK, you win. Here is the same answer that you couldn't find by USING THE SEARCH DISCUSSIONS FEATURE and not just looking at the previous two pages of posts.
Because hundreds of new people are posting every day and it might be back 5 pages, ya know? Hence the useful search utility.
Highlight the song > Get info > Artwork tab, highlight the bad artwork and press delete.
Now you can add the good artwork.

  • Changing album art in iTunes 11?

Okay. Not going to sit here and complain about the many things that are wrong with iTunes 11...but the BIGGEST issue for me is that sometimes I download new music and want to change the album art. BEFORE, in iTunes 10 and prior, I could just select all the songs and then I could browse the internet for the image/album art I wanted, and just drag the image from the internet page over into the "album preview" area on the lower left of iTunes, and all the songs I wanted to have new art would. Easy.
Now this feature is gone! How the heck do I change album art now? Especially when things are not all from the same artist/album and just a mix?

    Ok, I had the same problem I've found where it is;
To update/change/add artwork to an album WITHOUT having to manually copy the art file to every song in an album you have to select all the songs in the album, like the old way, then cmd+I or get info and the normal 'limited' pop up box for multiple items appears. On the right (of the 'info' tab) is an album artwork box which you can drag images to in the same way as you could to the album art preview in the bottom left.
This had me very frustrated, but thankfully its still there, just an extra pair of clicks away. Not great for updating loads of albums quickly in a swift workflow but at least you can still add artwork to multiple items!

  • Why can't I change album art?

    Here's the issue.
I have 3423 songs that are in my library, all of which have messed up cover art. At one point I must have applied the same Jay-Z Blueprint cover art to all of my files on accident so now every song has the same Jay-Z cover.
I've made a smart playlist with the rule "Album Art = True."
I then went through all 3423 songs, deleting the cover art from the Artwork tab. I used a script/macro app so I didn't have to do this manually.
After running this script/macro, the smart playlist is empty, as expected.
After these changes, I left my iTunes open for another day to let the changes sync to the cloud.
I come back the next day and find that the same 3423 songs are back in the playlist, artwork still there.
I did this one more time. Next day, same results. The cloud seems to ignore my changes and keeps the art no matter what I do.
I read of a few elaborate workarounds that have you delete songs from your library and then re-add them but that's not an option for me. I have a great deal of playlists created that use many of these songs and as soon as I delete these songs from my library, those playlists are going to get messed up.
Please, Apple support, can you offer some assistance?

    Hi,
Do as you have done before but turn off match once completed. Close iTunes.
Create a new iTunes library. iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
Turn on iTunes Match, select add this computer. This will show all your music in the cloud. If artwork is shown, delete as before. Close iTunes and reopen original library. Turn on match.

  • Trying to change album art and album info on ipod

i am trying to change the album art and album info on my ipod touch while it is plugged into itunes but while it shows in the itunes window that this information is gone, the ipod still has it and won't update ??
i have a nano that contains all my music with full description but would just like to transfer a handful of songs to my touch and don't want the albums listed and song titles because i just have a few songs from the artist like a compilation ?
    any help welcome..thanks

    JP:
Are you sure the artwork's gone? When you add artwork to a music track via iTunes, it is actually added via the ID3 tag, which are embedded in the song file. The only way that the artwork could be removed if if the tag was modified or you converted your music files to a format that does not support ID3 v.2.x tags.
When you Get Info for a single random song file, and click on the tab for artwork, is this pane empty?
Have you opened the show artwork box under the Source menu in iTunes? (click on the button with the rectangle below the Source menu).
Otherwise, I am at a loss as to how all of your artwork disappeared simply by moving it from one drive to another.

    @Riju1994
I haven't experienced this myself but I've noticed that downloading the album info doesn't work with FLAC files.

  • Can't change album art in iTunes 11.

I have iTunes 11 on a mac with all up to date software, I can't find a way to change cover art for albums, I can do it for individual songs but that's not enough. Any suggestions?

Brij011: You can have both individual track artwork and album art together in iTunes 11. It's easier to start with the album art (as you describe) and then open each track individually and drag the track artwork into Artwork portion of info. From there, you can rearrange the artwork to either show each track piece when the track is playing or to show the album artwork (whichever one is first in order will be displayed in the playing dialoge at the top of iTunes or with tools like Bowtie). It's a pain and much more difficult than it was <11, but it still works.
To the OP: I don't know how to change the default album artwork anymore in 11. It seems like it just pulls the first piece of artwork from the first track on the album, so if you're leading with track artwork in your Get Info box, then the album artwork will end up being the art from the first track.
Like others who have large iTunes collections and place a high level of importance on album artwork, I'm really disappointed that Apple has left us behind in favor of casual users. Here's to hoping that they re-introduce full artwork management in 11.1.

  • Changing album art for videos?

When I import video into my iTunes 6 library, the "album art" is generated automatically. It pulls a frame from the video & uses it as the art, but I'd much rather choose the art myself.
I have not yet figured out how to delete this album art or change it. Anybody know how?
It seems that with the addition of video to iTunes, Apple may need to rethink the software's approach to tags.

Find the frame that you want to use. Ctrl (right) click on the image in the small window at the bottom and choose "Set Poster Frame".
    Done!

  • Changing Album Art in Itures

I can load the music stores' art work, no problem. Same with new graphics I create or obtain elsewhere.
I cannot find a way to delete or paste in new art work should I decide to change what I have. It has to be there somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it.

To remove/modify an artwork, the best way is to make a "Get Info" on your songs.
Select the songs that have the same album artwork that you want to remove, then rigth-click on them and select "Get Info". In the info window, select the Artwork tab. There, you can click on the image and you will have the option to delete it.

  • Songs repeat after a few seconds when I change album art

Whenever I update my album artwork in iTunes, I go back to play the songs and iTunes adds on about 10 more seconds from the beginning of the song.
Is there any solution to this?

Are you in a country, where you can download past purchases again?
Then delete the three bad songs from your iTunes Library and download them again from the store:
See: Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
With iTunes '11Go to the iTunes Store
Make sure that you have "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" enabled in your iTunes preferences by going to iTunes > Preferences under the Store tab. Then, click OK.
If you're not already signed in, choose Store > Sign In, and enter your Apple ID and password.
After you've signed in, click the Library button located in the upper-right of the iTunes Store.
Navigate to your iTunes library for the respective content type you wish to download using the content selector in the upper-left. Choose Music to download songs, Movies to download movies, and so on.

  • I was changing album art on my ipod touch 4th gen with a different laptop then all my music disappeared (the titles are still there but the music is gone and the space is empty) i recently updated to ios 6 and the laptop im using just got itunes on it

i chose not to sync my ipod for fear i would lose all my songs because the new laptop had no songs. ni chose to manage files manually, and after around 3 chages my ipod only read my purchased songs. so i unplugged my ipod and pluggd it back in. the laptop said i had all of my music in my ipod. after this the titles appeared but they were that light gray color and i couldnt play them. what happened???

That suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • (ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.

I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync  music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them.  Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view.  I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes.  My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.
Thank you for actually making it to the end of this manuscript of annoyances.

Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.

  • When I downloaded iOS 7 my iTunes album art automatically changed for me. Loved it. When I downloaded iOS 8 update it went back to the original artwork. How do I get it back like iOS 7??

Okay, I'm going to try and make as much sense as I possibly can without confusing people. I hope someone can help! So when I downloaded the iOS 7 update one 'major' change I noticed was that my album art in iTunes had automatically changed for me. It was really cool, more up-to-date, and overall enjoyed how it looked. Made it look a lot neater than my own album art I had put on there. Now, when I downloaded the new iOS 8 update I notice that all my album art when back to its original picture which I had put on there. How do I get it back to where it was when I downloaded the iOS 7 Update?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I know this isn't the most "dying for help" question, but I'm curious anyways to why it has changed. Thanks!

Sorry no backup - no pictures.
Yes phone will automatically backup to icloud when on wifi and phone is charge, but your phone storage was full so it stop backing up.

  • Changes made on my iPad do not appear when plugged into iTunes; missing album art on iPad.

If I make changes to the music on my iPad--i.e. delete songs/albums, add ratings, add a song to a playlist--when I plug my iPad in to view the contents in iTunes, none of these changes have been saved. The deleted music reappears, the ratings do not show up, and the new songs are not in the playlist.
Additionally, when I have my iPad plugged in to my Mac, all of my album art shows in iTunes. However, if I look at the music on my iPad by albums, much of my album art is missing.
    Any suggestions?

Visionplace, i have the issue where my ipad2 changes/edits to my current playlists are NOT synced up with my itunes 11 on my computer (Windows 7).  I have icloud and Itunes Match is turned on.  My settings are to auto-sync and i have ALL my music set to be synced, not just select playlists. (Note I have not tested whether new playlists will appear because i usually just edit my existing ones).
So whenever i make playlist changes on my ipad2 (e.g., add or delete songs), i see the changes correctly on my iphone 4, and my Apple TV within 15 minutes without taking any steps, but they do NOT appear on my itunes 11 on my computer (Windows 7).  The only way i have found to get the ipad2 playlist edits onto my itunes on my computer is to sync my iphone4 up with the computer. (My ipad changes are already on the iphone 4 automatically). My computer's itunes 11 CAN see the playlist edits i have made on the iphone4 (immediately), but not the ipad.  It *****, but it works for me.
For new music purchases (from itunes store) on my ipad2, the only way i can see them on my itunes 11 on the computer is to go to the store, and download them again. Otherwise, they will not appear.
Note - in another forum when i was researching this ipad sync issue, someone had stated that the ipad/computer sync is one way. (I.e., from computer-to-ipad only). If true, that would explain why the ipad edits and new music purchases dont show up in my computer itunes. However, the iphone sync must be two ways.
