Change appearance of the inactive VI's windows

Hello!
I'm working on a software which calls different sub-VIs and they all open as new windows in front of the main one. The problem is that those windows are usually smaller than the parent VI and sometimes the amount of controls you see on the screen is a little annoying. You would see the parent VI on the area which the new window doesn't covers. What I would like to do is to have the parent VI change it's brightness or maybe have some "fog effect" on it in such a way that what calls your attention is the currently active VI. Please apologize for the confusing explanation, but I'm not sure how to make myself "understandable". I found an article explaining how to change the background color of the VI, however, I have an image as the background of the application, so the color change would have no effect. What I want is something similar to what happens when Windows Vista asks you for administrative rights to proceed with some action, when all the remaining screen gets darker and that brings your attention to the dialog box.

The transparency property works perfectly fine in Windows 7. It can be found at VI.Front Panel Window>>Transparency, but you should note there's another boolean property there which you need to set to T if you want it to actually work. Also, its scale is 100-0 as opposed to the 0-255 you currently have. I would say it's better to use it because it's built in and should work on all platforms.
I can say that the Windows function has one nice advantage in that you can use it to set one color in a window completely transparent, thus creating a hole in the window (which you can click through to what's under the window. This allows creating shaped windows fairly easily.
Also, that demo was written as a test. As you can see it's messy and it has code which was placed there to work around display issues in older LV versions. If you're going to use it, I would suggest cleaning and debugging it (and then maybe uploading the updated code).

Try and isolate the issue. Check if it's only with this drive.
Check the drive with Disk Utility

How do I change appearance of the TOC. When I right click on the single source layout/properties, I dont get a "styles" tab

Depends on your output.
For WebHelp, you substitute different images for the Books and Pages using the Skin Editor.
For CHM files, you first ensure that Micrsoft HTML Help is your Primary Layout. Then you edit the Books and Pages using the TOC Editor. You right-click them and choose Properties. Then click the Advanced tab and choose the desired image.

Changes made in the PODCAST GET INFO window do not "stick"?

When working with podcasts, changes made in the GET INFO window do not "stick" for newly downloaded podcasts? In other words the changes are not persistent for newly downloaded podcasts. I want the changes to apply to past, present, and future podcasts.

when you dont supply any _tempate value in the url, the system by default uses
WEBREPORTING_SELSCREEN template.
your po_selscreen may be a copy of this and modified to change the look and feel or something like that. compare these two and see whats causing the selscreen from appearing completely

I cannot get the STOP button to appear in the Navigation Toolbar, even after going through the suggestions; it will appear when the Restore Default Set window is open, but disappears as soon as DONE is clicked

The X for STOP loading the page does not appear in the Navigation Toolbar. If I do the right click, select Customize, Restore Default Set, it appears; click Done and it disappears. I have disabled the theme; disabled all extensions; reset the toolbar & controls; unchecked the acceleration. No luck.

Starting in Firefox 4, the Go, Stop and Reload buttons are combined in one button at the right end of the URL or Address bar. The button changes depending on the activity:
*green Go arrow when typing in the address bar
*red Stop ("X") button while page is loading
*gray Reload (circular arrow) when page is finished loading.

I installed the Forms6i with the patch 12 on Windows XP platform. The installation language is Greek. The only problem i have faced up with the installation is the appearance of some question marks in LOV Column Mapping window ... instead of the Greek translation of the phrases:
Column Names ,
Return Item ,
Display Width ,
Column Title
Is there a specific Windows font that should be installed ....or something else...????

You have to do it from the source code. Click on source, you will find "<xsl:if test="">".
Define your condition in test="/tns:input1=/tns:input2" or check if you source string contains "abcd", i.e. xsl:if test="contain(/tns:source_column1,'abcd')"

No account appear in the iTune Sync Calendars window ????

I have MBP 8GB 2012 model, OS X 10.8. iCloud is set up and runing fine. iCal on my MBP works fine, with icloud, on my Mac accounts and also some local accounts setup on our office network. My iPhone also works fine with syncs from the icloud and On My Mac accounts.
However when I open iTunes, open the INFO page, and try to sync just the iCal/selected calendars nothing appears in the window. The window is totally blank, even if I select All Calendars or Selected Calendars, nothing appears.
In our family there is an identical MBP, iphone - both with identical settings, however, the iCal Sync window shows all of the available calendars.

It sounds like you set everything up properly. Are your IAPs cleared for sale? Did you upload the screen shots as the final stage in iTunes Connect?

Save File dialog from dll is not appearing to the front of TestStand window

I am calling a C#.net dll from a step in TestStand sequence. A function is called which pops up a Save File dialog. This Save File dialog is appearing only behind other windows. There is an overload for the showDialog function that takes the owner form as argument. My dll doesnot have a form. I would like to know how can I pass the TestStand form as owner to this Save File dialog object.

Address Leases not appeared in the scopes at DHCP Windows 2008 R2 ent

Hi Friends,
Recently couple of days ago we have migrated from DHCP Server ( Windows Server 2003 R2 32 ) to Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit Virtual Machine.
After migration, most of the scopes seem empty, no Address Leases appeared in the scopes even most of the reservations also not appeared from DHCP MMC but the client machines obtaining IPs and DHCP VM is working fine.
After investigation I have found following event log errors.
Are these event log errors related to this Issue and what will be problem. Please advise.

Perform these steps from new W2K8 DHCP server:
Open DHCP mmc
Open Command prompt: cmd
Type: netsh dhcp server export C:\dhcp.txt all in command prompt and press Enter
Delete ALL scope information from within the DHCP mmc
Type: netsh dhcp server import C:\dhcp.txt all in command prompt and press Enter
Right-click server name within DHCP mmc and choose refresh

Why doesn't my backup drive appear in the Startup Disk selection window?

I've been using SuperDuper! to backup my Mac HD to my internal Seagate drive. The Seagate is divided into Seagate1 and Seagate2. I backup to Seagate1. When I open the Startup Disk window from Preferences, only the Mac HD icon appears, highlighted, and a Network Startup icon. Seagate1 does not appear, although I've made it bootable while using SuperDuper!
I'm not on a network, as I'm the sole user of my computer at home. I am connected to the Internet via cable, but that shouldn't be a factor, I think. I don't know why the Network icon is there but Seagate1 but Seagate1 isn't.
Is there a way to make it so the Seagate1 icon appears in the Startup Disk window? As it stands if my Mac HD goes down, I won't have access to Seagate1 to boot the computer.
Would much appreciate any advice or referral to another source that could help me.

Something I learned re: partitioning w/ Disk Utility: Dave Nanian at SD! referred me to SD!'s FAQs, the 1st one dealing with my problem:

I told (email) him that the original partitions already showed APM, but I went ahead, anyway, following instr's in the FAQ. Notable in those instr's is to click on Options, which I may have overlooked originally. This time, when I clicked on Options, APM showed as the default in the window. I went ahead & proceeded, thinking, "Well, if APM is the default, why did I need to click on Options"?
So I raised the issue with Dave. Here's what he said: "Alas, no - it uses the existing scheme, which was likely MBR."
Lesson: When partitioning w/ DU, ALWAYS click on Options, even if APM is the default. I know DU directs this, but all I can think of why the original partitioning failed is that I did not do this. Any comments would be welcome.

FDMEE: EBS segments not appearing in the FDMEE Load Rule window

I have configured FDMEE to load GL data from specific E-Business 12 segments. This has been working fine.
Recently, additional segments were defined in EBS. Unfortunately, these new segments do not appear in the Load Rule box (whereas the original segments do appear).
Is there an option/trigger somewhere in FDMEE (or EBS) to force the new segments to appear in the FDMEE Load Rule selection segment box? (I have re-initialised the source system, with no effect.)

You need to make sure that you are adding them to the Import Format defined between the Source and Target system. Have you done this yet?
Are there target dimensions in the app to point to?

My Gmail appearance, Theme, is OK on one Desktop using XP, but does not have the same appearance on the Desktop running on Windows 7. The Theme chosen does not install on Windows 7

If I choose a Theme for the appearance of my Gmail Inbox, using my Dell Inspiron computer running on Windows 7, the new Theme appears on my other computer running on XP, but not on my Dell!
On my Dell, all the messages in the Inbox are separated by a black line, in fact yjere are many black lines and no colors shown on the Windows 7 Dell. This was not there from the beginning, but came about z week ago.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. My name shows up in the chat window as my whole name. Why??? I'd rather it just say my screen name. How do I change it?

iChat takes this name for the spot at the top of the Buddy List.
It takes the Buddy list details from iChat if you have just a Buddy's screen name and from their card in the Addres Book if you added Real Names.
The Exception is that when registering an AIM name you can choose how it is displayed.

None of my IPad files appear in the itunes file sharing window. I cannot transfer anything to my PC. Help!

I am unable to tranfer files created in both Keynote and Pages from my IPad to my PC. The 'file sharing' window in itunes remains blank - it doesn't see my Kindle purchases or pdf's either. Can anyone help? Many thnaks.

Files are not shared to iTunes automatically. You have to actually Share them to iTunes. They should then be available in iTunes on your computer when you connect your iPad.

Microphone doesn't appear in the Device Manager in Windows 7

I'm using Windows 7 64 Bit OS on my MacBook Pro, clean installation, not based on Bootcamp, no MAC OS installed (required by our company otherwise I can't access corp network). Now my problem is that the speakers are working properly, but I can't use the internal microphone as it doesn't show up in the device manager. Cirrus Logic CS4206A (AB28) latest driver is installed. External headset with microphone works fine. Any help welcome, thanks in advance.

I disabled my microphone in Bootcamp Win7 Ultimate 64B and now it is completly gone. I used the Windows support CD I made and re-installed the 64B Cirrius drivers but the microphone is no where to be found also missing in device manager as well as Control Panel Audio.
Help.
