Change apple id on my icloud

Hi
After my last update i have not  been able to update using my icloud account.
On my phone settings (iphone 4) it is configured with an email that i no longer use ( another internet provider)
So, when i try to reset i cannot reach the mailaccount in which apple sends the email.
How can i change this emailaccount with an email which i actually use?

Welcome to the Apple community.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • HT204053 Changing Apple ID email to iCloud address

    Hello everyone,
I am in the process of trying to make the switch to iCloud for all my email, calendar, contacts and other needs from Google. I was using a Google account linked to my own domain but since Google has now disabled Exchange email for new devices I decided to make the switch to iCloud for all my services.
I have several issues now with this process and am unable to find solutions in Apple's support pages.
    1. I created an @icloud.com email address to allow use of some iCloud services with my previous Google email Apple ID ([email protected]), I had no intention of using this for email so it's an address I don't want. I've created a new email alias in my iCloud account with an email address I would like to use but I want to remove all trace of the original unwanted email address. Is this possible? This original email is also listed as my 'Alternate Apple ID' which I don't want. Basically, I have an iCloud email address with '[email protected]' and want it to be the only email address associated with the account.
    2. I want to change my Apple ID email address to my new '[email protected]' email alias but I am told it can't be an email address associated with an Apple-owned domain. Is there any way around this? It seems strange that in order to use Apple services I must have an email account with someone else.
Thanks for any help or ideas,
    John

    Slight update:
    1. Basically I would like my new '[email protected]' alias email to be the primary email address for my 'Alternative Apple ID' and the only email address associated with this alternative ID. It's not so critical to change my Main Apple ID as long as I can edit the address of the alternative one associated with iCloud.

  • Change Apple ID login to iCloud e-mail

I recently abandoned Gmail because my username/password were among the leaked list.
Unfortunately I created my Apple ID with my Gmail address, but I want to change it to my iCloud e-mail address. The website tells me I can't use a domain that is owned by Apple, but I don't want to stay with Gmail, nor do I wish to use any other e-mail service providers.
Is there no way that I can use my iCloud e-mail address for my Apple ID? I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

No.  You'll have to choose a different non-Apple email provider if you don't want to use Gmail.

  • HT201320 Changed apple ID and my icloud account. Ever since this change, I am unable to access my email?

I changed my apple ID and my icould account. Ever since this change, i am unable to access my email. everytime i open my Yahoo Inbox, I get this msg saying "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed". but 'm on wifi and can access all sorts of pages and games. My Cellular data for my email is "on"
The email opens but it does not upload new emails.

If you use iCloud as well, you can try adding it back to your accounts as well.  I have 7 email accounts (including iCloud and a Yahoo account) in mail on my iPhone and iPad and have no problems with them.  I suspect it was not removing iCloud that fixed your problem, it was the re-entering the Yahoo account login credentials (maybe they just got corrupted - could be as simple as that).
If you do add iCloud back, and it causes problems right away with your Yahoo, then you should send a ticket in to the iCloud support folks as that would seem to be something not working correctly?

Also if you actually deleted the iCloud account, remember you can keep the account, and just disable it for mail in the iCloud settings (so you can keep using iCloud for other features even if you do not want to use iCloud mail).

  • I cannot sign onto my iclould account.  ID is not correct.  Changed apple ID and password, icloud is still showing old ID when attempting to enter on iphone.

I cannot purchase items in the APP store as well.  Indicated password is incorrect.  Changed in itunes and and can access information there with ID and passwork, cannot purchase or get app's to recognize current password on any device.
Icloud will not recognize password as well, cannot get to icloud on phone to do anything.

  • Changing apple id for the icloud

My family of four currently shares one Appleid which is becoming a problem as we dont want to share contacts etc across our iphones. How do I switch the common apple id (that each of our phones is now using) so that each phone now has its own unique id? As I am a bit thick I may need step-by-step instructions. Thanks!!!

Everyone needs their own Apple ID(verifiable email address) for iCloud. Everyone can still use the same ID for iTunes content, but for the rest, they need separate iD's. You can create an Apple ID here:
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/createAppleId?loca lang=en_US
So, create separate Apple ID's for everyone other that who ever owns the existing Apple ID. Then delete the iCloud accounts on each phone & setup with the new ID's.

  • Changed Apple ID not opening ICloud

I have lost the original setup password for my ICloud account and reset my apple ID and password. When I try to open ICloud it verifies the apple ID but says it is not my ICloud account. When I go to support it asks for my apple serial number, but I'm on PC, how do I rectify this please. Thanks Bradley

I Still have a problem. When i go to settings and to icloud there is no delete account. When i click on icloud i get first of all my name with the wrong email address (yahoo) under it. In the list below are all the usual photos, contacts, etc. the last one is find my ipad and then the advanced share my location and at the bottom is sign out. There is no delete account. What am i doing wrong? Help!

  • Changing Apple ID, not in iCloud

When I go to Store to download my music, it says, This device is Already associated with an Apple ID.  You can auto-download purchases on this device with just one Apple ID every 90 days.  You cannot associate this device with a different Appls ID for 90 days.  Any workarounds?

    No. Copyright reasons, I suppose.

  • Changing Apple ID and how does it affect iCloud?

    Hi,
I had no idea where to put this question since it seems to belong in about 3 different sections, but since it involves my iCloud/Apple/iTunes ID then I suppose this is as good as any place.
I've read a few answers to this question but they don't quite supply all the info I'm trying to find so here goes:
I want to change my Apple ID due to the fact that the email address being used is an old, ISP provided, one that I only tend to use these days for mailing list signups etc. Since, when I created my iCloud account when iOS 5 landed, I (stupidly, before reading that most people seem to advise not doing) chose to associate my iCloud ID to my Apple ID I'm finding all iCloud related notifications are coming from/to my Apple ID email address. I don't really want my shared Calendar changes being sent from/to this account as they can get lost in the deluge of cruft. Obviously in an ideal world I would want to change my Apple ID to my iCloud email address so that the notifications would be coming from there, but obviously this isn't possible yet. I live in hope it may be at some point (foolish I know but hope makes me happy). On that topic, I find it ridiculous that all my other 'verified' email addresses in my Apple ID can be used to change my ID to except the Apple provided me.com one due to that "you cannot use a MobileMe address as an Apple ID since it already is an Apple ID" message. I have never been a MobileMe user. Just iCloud. Maybe when MobileMe goes away this restriction might get lifted......unlikely I suppose but again, I can hope.
First question: could I just delete this iCloud account from my devices (including the Mac) and create a new iCloud account but this time choosing NOT to associate it with my Apple ID? I'd lose my current handy iCloud email address, and have to resync contacts etc but it might be worth it.
Secondly, I tried changing my Apple ID yesterday to another verified email address but lost all iCloud access, due to the Apple ID association I guess. If I deleted the iCloud account on the devices and signed back in with the new Apple ID would that bring me back to where I am now just with a different tied Apple ID? By that I mean full access to current contacts, bookmarks etc etc., without having to resync from anywhere?
Thirdly, which ID is it that controls access to iTunes Match? Apple ID or iCloud ID? Since it's part of iTunes in the Cloud it could be either. On my Mac I'm signed into iTunes with my Apple ID obviously. This gives me access to iTunes Match on the Mac. On my iPhone when I changed my Apple ID and signed into the Store in Settings I still had no access to any iCloud services, including iTunes Match. If I had deleted the account and signed in with the new ID would this have re-enabled iTunes Match? What would happen if the iCloud ID wasn't associated with the iTunes/Apple ID?
Hope most of that made sense. It did in my head.

Apple ID's can be used for anything, a single ID can be used for all your accounts (ie iCloud, iTunes, MAS, Apple community etc), ideally this would be the way forward. So far as iTunes goes you need to continue to use the same ID as you have always used or you will lose access to your previous purchases and your iTunes match subscription.
If you are using a second ID for iCloud, you can continue to do so or use the ID you use for iTunes, but if you choose the later you will need to move all your calendar, contact etc data to the account using the ID you use for iTunes.
When (if) you change which account you use you would delete the account on an iOS device and log back in with the correct details, on a mac you would sign out in the iCloud system preference pane.

  • HT204053 I setup an apple id using my gmail email address from my iphone and then I decided to change my email to icloud.  So I setup an icloud email account. Now I want to change my apple id to my icloud email account, but it wont let me.  How can I merg

I just got an iphone recently and I started my apple id using my gmail email address. I decided to change email from gmail to icloud so I setup an icloud email account and now I have two apple id accounts.  All my primary information is in the gmail apple id account and i just want to merge the two together.  I've tried changing the apple id on the main account to the icloud email, but it says it already exists.  How can I merge these two accounts without deleting one or the other?
    Thanks
    pallhues

    You can't merge iCloud accounts.
You could move all your calendars contacts etc over from the account you don't want to the one you do, it's not simple but about all I can suggest.

  • TS3988 iCloud will not accept any passwords after upgrading OS. 2 days of trying every password I have ever used, AND changing Apple ID and iTunes ID, still nothing. Can't backup on iCloud anymore.

  • I changed my Apple ID but my iCloud won't change with it ...

I changed my Apple ID a while ago because the email address it's synced with will expire in a few months. I got an iPhone 5 today (I previously had a 3GS) and although it's synced my contacts and music perfectly, my apps all say they're installing but none will finish. I can delete them and reinstall them just fine but it's just time consuming, also it won't download all my pictures from the iCloud which is where I backed up all the stuff from my old phone.
Whenever I go onto iCloud in my settings it asks me to put in the password for my Apple ID, but it won't accept my password and it shows the old email address. When I download an app it says the new Apple ID that I changed it to and works fine, it just seems to be iCloud that's the problem. Any ideas how I can get the old email address on iCloud to change to the one that is actually my Apple ID now? Sorry if none of this makes sense!
Also, I can't delete it, at the bottom of the iCloud page on settings it says 'You cannot delete your iCloud account because your iPhone is being restored.'

I am having this exact same problem right now. I have been on the phone with Apple support twice in the past day, and no one has been able to help me.  FINALLY I came across this thread, which is exactly what is happening with my phone (thank goodness, I'm not crazy!).
Did y'all ever resolve this issue?  What did you do?
I've read that I can't delete this iCloud account/my phone is still restoring because something/s is/are still downloading... but I can't tell what.  My music is completely downloaded (I only saved 52 songs).  I have deleted all of my apps (half were stuck, as you said, and I was being prompted for my old Apple ID password, so I just deleted them all).  I see a message in my photos that says "Downloading 0 of 652 Photos," but they never download/show up.  If it's the photos that are still downloading that is preventing me from deleting my old iCloud account from my iPhone, will they ever show up so the restore will end?
I don't want to hit the "Stop Restore" button in fear I might lose those 652 photos that aren't showing up, but I'm tempted... I just want to get rid of this stupid old Apple ID in the iCloud and type in the right one!
What did y'all do?  Hope you see this! I'm desperate and live in the middle of nowhere where the nearest Apple store is about 150 miles away

  • When my husband and I got these iPhones . We had the same Apple ID .(not good) that has changed . We have a iCloud acct. how or what do I need to do to change on my setting under iCloud it has his Apple ID  and also on r PC it has only his info none of mi

To change the iCloud account on your phone you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone.  When you delete the account you will be given the option to either keep or delete the iCloud data from your phone.  This also, only deletes the account and the iCloud data from your phone, not from iCloud.  Your husband's phone won't be effected by this.  Then, to create a separate account, sign back in with a different Apple ID (you can continue to share the same ID for iTunes).
If you have any photo stream photos that you want to keep on the phone, save them to your camera roll before deleting the account.
If you're sharing the same ID for iMessage and FaceTime you'll end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.  To prevent this, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your new iCloud ID.  Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.
