  • Change apple ID without deleting everything

When I bought a new iMac for my wife at the apple store, it was set up using my apple ID.  I would like to change it to her apple ID without having to delete everything on it.
The reason why is that in everything that she does, ichat ect it has all my info on it, including my picture.  Is there anyway to do this, without moving everything onto an external hardrive and using a start up disk to start over?
I have checked in the user account, icloud accounts ect and everything is under her apple ID, I guess the computer is just hard wired to mine.

That is not really possible. In order to accomplish that you need to erase her computer, repartition it, then install OS X. After that it can be "registered" to her Apple ID. You must remove the computer from your list of registered products so she can add it to hers.
For more help see What to do before selling or giving away your Mac. Think of your situation as being the same as someone planning to give away their Mac to someone else.
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer.

  • Can I sign in with multiple apple IDs in a single apple device without deleting my previous one?

can I sign in with multiple apple IDs in a single apple device without deleting my previous one?

    Hi swagyoloswag,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
There are several different services that require signing into an Apple ID to use on your iOS device. You can sign into different Apple IDs for different services on your iPhone. For example, Apple ID #1 for iCloud and Apple ID #2 for iTunes & App Store. You cannot sign into the same service with two different Apple IDs at the same time. The attached article has a list of services that are accessible with your Apple ID.

  • Delete History in Safari without Deleting Data

I cannot delete JUST the HISTORY without deleting WEBSITE DATA in Safari with OS X Yosemite.  Every time I delete the history, I lose all my cookies that I need for certain websites.  Will Apple please fix this?

Create an application from this Applescript with AppleScript Editor and run it whenever you want to clear just the history:
    tell application "Finder"
      activate
delete file "History.db" of folder "Safari" of folder "Library" of folder "XXXX" of folder "Users" of startup disk
      empty trash
    end tell

  • Changing Partition Size without Deleting (bootcamp)/ Vista Question

Hi, I'm currently running windows xp and OSX together with bootcamp on my black macbook (2 gigs of ram).
I want to install Vista but I don't have anymore space on the Windows XP partition (just 4.42 gigs left). Can I partition my drives again where I get more room for my XP drive without deleting or messing up any of the information?
Also , can I even use vista ultimate upgrade on my macbook?

    Hi,
I believe boot camp is not supporting upgrade version of windows OS.
Run you boot camp assistant to changed the partition size, but I think it will delete all of the XP that already installed there, but you don't need that again if you want to install Vista in that partition right?
do visit boot camp forum for more answer from their experienced user.
    Good Luck

  • Can I delete iCloud off MY iphone without deleting data on another iphone with the sme icloud account?

I was just wondering if I can delete an iCloud account off my iPhone without deleting contacts, etc off another iPhone who is using the same iCloud. My sister has an iPhone and i recently got one myself, when I was setting it up I used her iCloud account and all our contacts merged together. When I tried to delete these contacts off my phone they also deleted off my sisters phone.
I was wondering if I delete the iCloud account off MY iPhone would it delete everything off hers too?
I would be very grateful for any information you would have in relation to this, Thank you.

To migrate your data to a new account, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted, sign into the new account and choose Merge when prompted to upload the data to the new account.  When you delete the account it only deletes it from your device.  Other devices still using the account will not be effected by this.
After moving to your new account, you can then go to icloud.com on your computer, sign into each iCloud account separately and delete the data you don't want from each account (i.e., deleting your sister's data from your account and vice versa).

  • Is there anyway to change Apple ID without losing everything?

I recently changed Internet providers and my current I'd is with my old provider. Is there anyway to change the Apple ID without losing everything?

    Absolutely.
If you go to Appleid.apple.com, then click on the Manage My Account button (big blue rectangle).
When you've signed in (using your current Apple ID), there will be a section showing your email address, click on EDIT next too it, enter in your new Apple ID, and then select Save Changes, and viola! Your Apple ID has been changed, without loss of any content.
Then on your device just go into Settings> Store> click on your account> Sign Out> Then Sign back in using your new email address in place of the old.
Note: Some apps when updating will still ask for your old account as the Apple ID, just enter in your password ignoring the email

  • Changing apple ID without losing content.

I am having to change apple ID since I changed internet (email) provider. I have gone into set up a new Id: but when I look at Itunes account it is still listing underprior name; also if I go on ipod to download I get a prompt to enter password to the old account. I have not restarted computer since I entered new email adress as apple ID; I am afraid I am going to lose all of my content. Any suggestions?

All your content is saved to you computer it's self so u shouldn't lose anything.  However, when in doubt back it up.  Do a back up of your content just to give yourself leave of mind that way you have it if it does get lost.  I changed my account without losing anything.  U should be fine

  • Need help changing Apple ID without losing info

I have 3 Iphones linked to the same Apple ID.  2 are mine and 1 is my fathers who is not too saavy with Iphones which is why it's been linked to mine to help him.  He has since upgraded from the 3 to a 4s (like I said, he's behind the times) and was wanting to move his content from one phone to the other.  First off, the Apple 'Genius's' were anything but 'Genius' when it came to helping him.  So he ended up having to ship his phone 3k miles to me to help.  I was able to back up his phone and attempted to create a new Apple ID for his phone.  Then I realized it had changed my phones ID's to the same as the one I made for him.  I have since switched both of my personal phones back to the original ID's, but his phone still has the old/new ID I created for his phone but comes up as not 'verified' since I changed my 2 back to the original ID.  If you're still reading this and I haven't lost you yet then maybe you can help.  My question in a nutshell is how do I give him his own ID without losing the content he has on this phone?  He can't sync from ICloud because it will import all of my info onto his phone as well.  I would really like to get this resolved so I can send him back his phone asap and not worry about further issues if and when he needs to backup or sync his phone to his own account without my info transferring as well.

  • My wife and I have the same apple ID. Can I change my iCloud without deleting everything?

So I don't know what to do here, I want to change my iCloud to be my own but when I press on the delete button I am warned that everything will be deleted. However I would like my wife to retain the iCloud account on her device. Will it delete everything, on what will be her own iCloud account, if I delete it on my iPad?

Create a new Apple ID for him: Create an Apple ID
Sign out of the old Apple ID and in with the new Apple ID on his devices in these places:
    Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
    Settings > FaceTime
Settings > iCloud > Delete account > Sign back in with new ID
    Settings > Game Center
You can keep using the same Apple ID for purchases.
If you want to have separate purchases:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores

  • Changing icloud account without losing data, apps etc.

My wife and I currently share an Itunes and I cloud common account on our ipads and iphone 5's.   I would like to change my icloud account but continue to share the itunes store account.  How can I change the icloud account on my phone and ipad without losing everything that is now stored in our common icloud account?

When you delete the account and choose Keep on My iPhone (iPad), contacts, calendars and other synced data will remain on your device.  When you sign in with your new ID to create your new account and choose Merge, these will be uploaded to your new account.  Synced notes and photo stream photos are exceptions to this, which is why you have to take steps to save them prior to deleting the account.
If you don't have notes turned on in Settings>iCloud, your notes aren't being synced with iCloud and will not be effected by deleting the account as they are stored locally on your device rather than in iCloud.  You can confirm this by going to icloud.com and checking Notes there.  If you don't see your notes, they aren't in iCloud so you don't need to email them to yourself prior to deleting the account.
Also, if you have multiple devices, you only need to migrate the data to your new account on the first device.  On the second device you can just delete the existing account and choose Delete from My iPhone (iPad) rather than Keep (since your iCloud data is already in the new account).  When you sign into the new account on the second device your iCloud data will download to it.

  • How do I set up a new apple ID without losing data off one phone?

I have two iPhones (5) with one Apple ID.  My husband updated his phone to iOS8 last week and I did mine today but it looks like we have to set up separate Apple ID's in order for the phones to work properly.
General > Privacy > Location Services (off for now) > Share My Location <-- it's in here that it keeps showing his phone and not mine. I keep setting to my phone but it keeps reverting.
I also have an issue compounded to this - My Apple ID for some odd reason is set up to use HIS phone number and not mine. I can't seem to change that anywhere in the settings on the Apple site. Help here would be greatly appreciated.
The My Support Profile page will not let me update any of my device info. Hitting the save button just shows the 'working' circle graphic and it never actually stops and saves.
So, it seems that I need to create a new Apple ID for the other phone line and I am unsure how to do it.
Where on the phone I need to change do I log out of the one ID in use?
Should we start on Apple.com and create it all there first?  Then log into the phone? I am going to assume yes.
Same for iTunes - get Apple ID and then log into iTunes. That one is a 'no brainer'.
So, once the new ID is taken care of and set up, how does he not lose any of his current apps and music? Will it all be there or will he have to set up his phone all over again as if from new? What about all the purchased apps in iTunes he's bought with my ID?
Right now we feel kind of 'stuck' and afraid to use the phones until I know what to do to solve these conflicts.

Thank you Lawrence, I know how it all works.
I'm pretty sure if I need to use Find My Phone I can log in from any device into that stupid cloud as long as I have activated it on the phone first. Sometimes I do use that method when traveling but not for daily use.
We can share our iTunes products easily between the phones on both the computers.
I don't trust the cloud. You may feel free to do so but I won't and I won't buy a basic phone because of my mistrust. Although the stupid cloud claims your data is secure or encrypted etc, it's a database. Period. One giant database and SOMEONE has to have access to the information UNENCRYPTED to manage, restore etc. There ARE master users or whatever you want to call them and I'm sorry, I just don't trust. I also have a stalker and because of that I am extra cautious. Don't worry, he's already facing two felony charges and trying to worm out of a jail sentence.
My cell phone and internet provider promised me security and my email addresses have been sold to the highest paying spammer and I get HUNDREDS of spam emails daily. For the first two years I was spam free. Didn't even see that crap in my junk folder but the last 5 years it's increasing daily. Now how does that happen? Unscrupulous employees is my guess. Especially since I do not use my regular email address for things I know will generate spam. I'm very cautious of my privacy online. Very.
Thank you for believing iCloud is safe but you did hear about all those celebrities whose photos were hacked and stolen from iCloud, didn't you? THIS is (one of many reasons) why the cloud can't be trusted.

  • Sync iphone to two computers without delete data

    Hi everybody!
I want to sync an iphone4 to two computers, both of them running mac os X 10.5.8 and iTunes 10.
The first one, called home computer, holds apps, music, videos, podcasts, photos. I don't want to sync contacts and calendars on it.
The second one, called office computer, contains just that: contacts and calendars, and nothing else. Actually, it contains a few other items, but I don't care to sync them.
First, I disabled automatic syncing in both computers.
Then I synced the iphone to the home computer, checking all the requested panes: apps, music, videos, podcasts, photos. I unchecked just the info pane. Everything worked fine.
Troubles are coming syncing to the second computer, office computer.
I check the info pane (everything ok, so far). But when I uncheck the app pane, it appears a box asking (sorry not to be precise, I have to translate from italian) "Do you really want to unsync all apps? All apps contained in iphone will be deleted". If I choose not to sync, the multicolor bar below starts worringly to decrease, and the green part (apps) disappears.
I wanted not to sync the app in the iphone, not to delete them!
The same happens if I uncheck all other interested panes, i.e. music, videos, podcasts, photos.
The final result is a sad, short bar showing just a very small yellow strip, "other" meaning contacts and calendar.
    What I have to do?

With the iPhone, you can sync all iTunes content with only one computer.  Trying to sync iTunes content with a second computer will result in iTunes erasing the content from the first computer.  However, non-itunes content such as contacts, calendars, mail settings, notes, etc. (anything in the Info pane) can be synced from another computer.
Do not allow your iPhone to sync until you have set up your selections.  Prevent automatic syncing one time, without changing settings:  Open iTunes. Then, as you connect iPhone to your computer, press and hold Command-Option (on a Mac) or Shift-Control (on a PC) until you see iPhone appear in the sidebar.
At home, make your selections from the Music, Videos, Applications, etc. panes, but leave the selections in the Info pane that you want synced from your work computer unchecked.  When you are finished, click the "Apply" button at the bottom right of the iTunes window.
At work, Prevent automatic syncing one time, without changing settings:  Open iTunes. Then, as you connect iPhone to your computer, press and hold Command-Option (on a Mac) or Shift-Control (on a PC) until you see iPhone appear in the sidebar.  Make sure all options in all the panes you used at home are deselected (not checked), particularly the "Sync Music" at the top of the music pane.
Go to the Info pane and select your sync choices that you left unchecked at home (such as contacts, calendars), then click the "Apply" button at the bottom right of  the iTunes window.

  • How deploy a new MI appl. version without transfer data all over again

    Hello,
I'm using MI 7.0 SP15 and I have already deployed the enhanced MSR application on all PDA devices.
Then, I changed MSR (modifying just some JSP file) creating a new version of it, and now I need to deploy it on all devices but I want to avoid to transfer all data again (the database we're using on PDAs is DB2e) because it's too expensive to transfer them.
I usually assign a new version, through NW administrator, as JSP Application after having deassigned the old one to all users (in NW administrator I deassign the old version to all users, then I undeploy it, then I deploy the new version and then I reassign it to all users) but in this way I see that all local tables (related the the SyncBOs used by MSR) with all their data are deleted and created again.
Does exist a way to deploy a new application version avoiding to transfer data all over again in the local DB tables?
    Thanks,
    Maria

    Hi Larissa,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
I just tried to deploy the new MSR.war file as add-on unsuccessfully.

    Operating System:

Then I tried to deploy the NEW MSR version as add-on with the following MCD:
    Vendor:  xxx
    Application type: ADDON
    Name: MSR
    Description: Mobile Sales
    Version: 20.03

  • How can i download a movie onto a ipad mini that is not set up using my apple id without deleting everything on the ipad?

I have a Ipad mini that is set up on another Apple ID that is different than mine. I wish to know if it is possible for me to downlaod a movie onto it without having to remove everything off it.

I had the same question as was asked here, and I see that if I turn off my Wi-Fi on my iPad I can no longer access the iTunes Extras. However, if the extras are streaming-based, why is the file size of movies with Extras so much larger than those without? Any other HD movie with a similar running time is between 1.5 and 2.5GB, all with Extras are between 3.5 and 5GB. The problem isn't the Extras, its the lack of space on my iPad.
