Do anyone know how to change the article category of a article?
Because users defined the article category incorrectly to a sales set.

I'm not sure if there is any transaction to change the article type.
We have encountered this situation. We created new article with the desired article type.

Hi John,
This is reallly a tricky issue!
I guess you cannot change the category of an existing PO's.
This field will be greyed out once we save the form...there were no profiles/other setups to enable this field.
For all new PO's since you have changed the new category value that should not be a issue.
Lets wait for some of our colleuges opinion.
I guess PO cancel should be the final option if we dont hear any new work arounds.

Change item category in delivery order

Hi everyone
Issue: Can not change item category in delivery order.
Phenomenon:
1:Create purchase order and receive item based on it. complete invoice verification.
2:Use MIGO to create return delivery based on material document that is created during above process.
3:Based on system settings, (Sales org, ship-to party etc), outbound delivery is automatically created in background.
4:Try to change item category which is already determined during delivery order creation, but it is grayed out.
Can we change item category in this situation?
I have checked thread "Number of attempts to change Item Category
This looks same issue but I still do not know how to control item category in delivery order.
In material type, is there any place I can configure to allow user to change item category
in delivery order?
Please advise.

Unable to Change Item Category in Sales order

I am creating sales order with reference to sales contract but at the time of sales order we don't have en off stock to deliver to customer , so we have deiced to Third party sales process
But the problem is while creating a sales order with reference to Sales contract the line item of the sales order in grad Mode ( Not changeable mode )
Can any one guide me how sales order line item should be in active mode so i can change the Item category as a TAS third party item category

You can the item category field (VBAP-PSTYV) editable , if item is configurable (item category TAC), then change item category to TAS.
by using include MV45AFZZ - FORM USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION.
when screen 4001 or 4003.
   IF VBAP-PSTYV = 'TAC'.
           SCREEN-INPUT = 0.
          MODIFY SCREEN.
        ENDIF.

Change Item Category in Sales Order for KMAT materials

How can I change item category in sales order/quote for KMAT materials?
Currently in the sales order/quote, the item category field is grayed out for KMAT/configurable materials and I can change the item category.

I maintain all configuration, But the problem is while creating Sales Order with reference to Contract
the Sales Order line item in grad Mode i am unable to change item category as TAS
i mean TAN is on Display Mode
and we are using Varient config for that material

HFM Report export to Excel changes cell category

Greetings,
we just updgrated to version 11.1.2.2 and are noticing some strange behavior coming out of an some HFM reports we are exporting to Excel.
We are trying to sum up some values and are getting #VALUE!. We have to manually change the category settings of all columns in order to enable any Excel formulas. This occurs when values are "-".
We can manually change Excel to reflect the cells to be numbers but there are a lot of reports to change, and on top of this, the prior version of HFM/Reports did not display that issue.

Issue is not with HFM, but with FR Studio and version 11.1.2.2.302. Patch is available.

Change item category of a GL account

Hi All,
We need to change the item category of a G/L account from 04000-cash account to 01000-Balance sheet account. While configuring this, I got a warning message which indicates that problems
may occur in the target system after the transport.
Please advice me whether I can go ahead and change the category of the GL account. Will it have any other impacts after transporting to the production?

Just make sure all the relevant dependent objects are in the transport request. This error normally comes when there are few elements not maintained in the transport request or in a different transport request.
You can try releasing the request if you are confident and if there will be some error try to identify the problem.

Change a category name in numbers

I am trying to set up the personel budget and want to change or add category names. I cannot do this, would anyone know how? Some of the names there are of no use to me and do not fit my needs, thanks

I don't know why you would not be able to change or add a category name. I assume you are talking about the list in the budget table and the accompanying chart.
To change a category name, double click on the cell, type something else, hit Return.
To add a category name and keep the table in alphabetical order, the easy way would be to
Click on the little disclosure triangle next to the row number of the row above where you want to add your new category (see the screenshot below, the triangle next to the "7").
Select "add row below"
Select everything on the row. Copy, Paste to the new row. This will copy the formulas to the new row
Overwrite the category with whatever you want it to be and type in a budget for it.
The chart will automatically pick up the new category
You/we/all of us will get out of beta when Apple releases a non-beta version.

Vendor error message in sourcing cockpit when change product category

Hi there
We are having a problem when changing the product category in the sourcing cockpit.
The product category is linked to a vendor list. When you change the product category in the sourcing cockpit and choose a vendor by doing a vendor search and then click create purchase order, it still gives the error message "please choose vendor". Somehow it is not reading the vendor.
Is there any way to solve this with a note or something?

when you display the cart in work area , the vendor would have picked .i think you can see in one of the basic data .
dont you try to prosose a source of supply and assign sos.
i am not sure where mistake has happened ?
can your business allows you to complete the cart and create a new cart since all our data is different
once you change the product category. for eg. it linked with purchasing group upon responsibility of product group and this purchasing group linked with purchase organisation internally and vendor....so..on .
one small change product category impact data more..
it is not recommend to change the product category here. product category may link with responsible purchase group and purchase group is linked with purchasers w.r.t purchase group .

I have a podcast that is feed via Blog Talk Radio. I need to change the category from investing to business in itunes for the podcast. How can I do this? I can't find a way to change it from investing since it is NOT a investment podcast. HELP!

It's not really possible to comment further unless you would like to publish the URLs of both your feed and the Store page - this latter can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image (or where it should be) - and choosing 'Copy link'. I have an account code in my SOB that had been classified as Equity which gets translated at the end of periods at the closing rate. What are the implications that would ensue if i change the Category to say Revenue?

If an account is equity, asset, liability type the balances are carried forward for next fiscal, same is not case for
the others they are rolled up to retained earnings for begin of next year.

Change Valuation Category - Urgent please !!

I need to change the valuation category of an existing material.
When i wanna change it in Accountant View 1, the error message is "The valuation category cannot be changed for the following reasons:
Stocks already exist at plant level.
Plant SLoc
   1358 1301
   1358 1302 ".
But, the stock is cero. I see this in mmbe or mb52. Also, there aren´t current purchase documents. I see this in me80fn.
SD is not install in the company.
Any ideas ????

Why are you saying that you do not understand how to check the stock in previous period? It was written by Deepak how to do it.
(Many treads are on this forum about VC change and stock reports.)
My suggestion is that you should use (and learn) transaction MB5B. Please give the necessary information (material, plants, etc) and give the last day of the previous month in 'from' and 'to' selection fields as well.
You will see the opening and closing stock for that day. You should eliminate it somehow...via MB1A + 201 + posting date in the past (then reset it via MB1A + 202).
