Iphone white font on black background - looks good and easy to read but unable to see photos, How do I change back, know it should be easy, but looked through everything without success - anyone help?

Settings>General>Accessibility>White on Black>On/Off.

Not all applications will go from Portrait to Landscape. Changing just requires you to turn the device. However, if you have the orientation lock activated, then it will not change to landscape. To check, look in the status bar and see if you can see a small lock shaped icon near the battery icon. If you do, then orientation lock is activated. To turn it off, swipe upwards from the bottom of the iPhone screen to bring up Control Center. The orientation lock is the last icon on the top row to the right. Tap on it to turn it off. White is on, black is off.

You restore from the backup that contained them.
Restoring from a backup is all or nothing. It completely overwrites the data in the phone when you restore. You can not combine the contents of a backup with what's currently on your phone.

Hi there did you end up getting this resolved? I have the same exact same issue with my Ipad 4 when updating to 8.1.3....frozen on the apple logo. Tried resetting as advised by other users but just goes back to the same logo. Tried connecting to iTunes but device is not picked up at all. Left it over night to run flat hoping charging might kick start something....but when I put on the charger it shows the battery charge icon but won't actually charge it. It's really doin my head in trying to find a fix - cheers Morgan

I need to restore my iPhone from a backup that is not listed in the itunes backup section. I only did it at 6 pm yesterday. Is there a way to find this backup on my computer and return it to the itunes backup list?

Normally backups are incremental, and you can only restore the latest. EXCEPT that a backup of an earlier version is archived, and the first backup of the new version is thus complete. You should be able to restore a 6.1.4 backup to iOS 7. Click the Restore Backup button. The dialog that comes up should have a dropdown where you can select a backup to restore. If the old one does not show up it cannot be restored.
However, since you appear to have a Mac, if you use Time Machine you can restore an earlier backup over the current one from your Time Machine history.
You can also back up to iCloud, even if you don't sync to it. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262
One well hidden feature (for future use) is archiving backups. If you go to iTunes Preferences/Devices, right click on the current backup and choose "Archive". The next backup you make will be a competely new one, and the old one will be preserved and can be restored at any time.

Restore iphone from previous back up

I have recently deleted lots of apps, info from my iPhone 5, thinking I would restore it from a back up later. But when I connect to I-tunes, it only gives me the option of restoring from the most recent back up, or some from over a year ago.. I want to restore it to a back up from two weeks ago, but I can't find it, or none of the hundreds of back ups I've done in the past year, can this be done? Or are those back ups gone? My iphone recently got stolen so I purchased a new one and plugged it into the computer and it gives me 2 options:
1. Set up as new phone
2. Restore from backup of "___'s phone"

What I mean is still track my stolen one. I don't know if this will make sense to you but I'm thinking that if I restore the back up data on this phone..on my stolen phone it will like forget the icloud account or something and think this phone is the stolen one so when I go to track the stolen one, it will show that phone as the one I have now because I restored the back up from that phone.

Upon updating 5.1 iphone 4 blacked out with white line through screen and nonstop vibrating

i was updating lastest version my iphone 4 through icloud until screen blacked out with white line in middle of screen and started vibrating non stop.
tried a hard and soft reboot NOTHING WORKED
phone died
put back on charger
same problem screen would brown out and fade to black.
now it won't turn on.
fed up #FIX

phone lost full charge upon charging again now i have colored lines running horizontal through screen then vertical.
hard restart does nothing again.
but its no longer vibrating.
seems like serious software issue.

If it's an iPhone 4, it's actually quite easy. If it's a 3G or 3Gs, it's a lot more difficult (if not impossible).
As I mentioned, I've seen various other companies that make and sell them. Since it's a component not approved or endorsed by Apple, i'm hesitant to post the link here. Spend a few minutes Googling "replacement iphone back" and similar searches, and you'll find what you are looking for.

Changing background/text colours to black/white

Hi,
Got a mate who has just bought a shuffle, and downloaded Itunes. Problem is due to problem he has with his sight, he can only see text on the PC when the background is black, and text is black, hence the reason for getting a shuffle (no screen) . Is it possible to change the background/text settings on Itunes to switch them around? He has many other software on the laptop where the colours are changed, but Itunes, amongst some other Lotus appls, cannot change. Any ideas anyone, this will stop him using his Shuffle, and have to sell it if he can't see the Itunes software properly.

is that it may be possible to customise the displays using the itunes for Windows software developers kits:

... or it might also be possible to enlist the help of one of the SDK gurus to get a display plug-in written for your friend.
I don't see much action from the SDK people here, but i recall seeing more activity on the various matters over in "using itunes". if you don't get any more replies from here over the next couple of days, maybe try reposting over there?
