Change Batch number for a material

At the time of GR, incorrect batch number was posted. Now I want to change the batch to a new batch number. Is it possible to change the batch of a material ? If so, how ? Thanks for your help.

Hi,
No problem you can change the batch number if the stock available in unrestricted use follow the below step.
Go to Transaction MB1B, enter movement 311, plant, storage location and press enter.
In next screen enter Material code quantity received batch number then press enter.
After enter the screen will be change here you can change the issue batch number what your required and press enter save.
Now check the Batch number in stock overview.

you have to use EXIT_SAPLV01Z_001 and EXIT_SAPLV01Z_002 in the case were you want to Copying the production order number to the batch number.

A. there are two possiblities assign you batch number at production order before release or assign batch or each GR at the time of executing GR transaction.

A.In Material master you also have to tick for batch managemnt relevency

Update Batch Classification for a Material

Hello friends,
I'm facing the following problem : A specific BTCI wich simulates MB01 was calling another program called SAPLCTMS to update Batch classification for a Material, this program (SAPLCTMS ) seems to be not necessary after the support package Level 57 (we just installed SAP4.6C). I didn't find any note on OSS for this...
Now i'm trying to use this BAPI instead of BTCI for the Material batch classification :

Batch Number for Valuation Type in BOM item detail

Dear PP Expert.
Is it possible to maintain batch number for valuation type in BOM item detail ? My requirement is for example in bom item 10, component A is maintained with batch number for valuation type so that in production order batch number field automatically filled.
Fyi i have tried user exit : Enhancement for BOM item: PCSD0002. Here we can maintain valuation type for component in item detail in customer tab. But unfortunately valuation type here is not link with batch number for valuation type in Production order.

Let me describe it more specific, I have two material FG and SFG. Material FG is maintained with valuation type so when we do goods receipt for SFG it's asked to input valuation type in batch field. In stock SFG material qty is separated for each valuation type like batch.
Now i want to maintain in BOM for FG, where component SFG has fix the valuation type / batch so that in production order we don't have to choose manually. Do you have any idea ?

Use Batch Number for bin location

I will set naming convention for batch number to represent bin location.

You can use it, but I wont suggest it. The batch specifies a group of materials produced with same recipe or with same characteristics.
If you use BIN location as batch name, suppose you transfer post from one storage location to another storage location where the bin location change and the batch number remains the same. It will simply create confusion.

means
u done GR through Migo
and ur documennt type is We _ goods receipt - this is ur material document no
u done invoice dopcument againmst Gr - RE Dcoument type - accounting Document No
see when u going to Po , purchase order history
then bothe Gr and IR document u seen
for example :_ gR - 500000123
and IR 5105601234
but when u double clcik on IR Dcoument , screen will be open
here u also se another accounting no document see 510004563 then clcik on this field and f1 then u see table and field
i can tell u u doing GR 5000000123
at the time of ir two document no genrated
one for document for Mm Point of view and one for Fianance point of view
means 5105601234 is MM Accounting dcouemnt
510004563 is finance accounting document
i hope u clear that

Wants to activate batch management for a material which already had a Stock

i want to activate batch management for a material which already has a stock and open Purchasing documents.
is there any way by which we can do it without removing the same.

program name is RVBCONVMAT2BM
but i am doubtfull it will be delivered with standard SAP, you need to request you from SAP as they charge for this.
this program convert the material to batch and all relevant dependant documents will be updated with batch no.

I need to delivery number for the material document number posted,
I tried to use the field XBLNR from the table MKPF
but i see that the feild is empty in the case of inbound delivery
why is it so.
How ever i can get the data from VBFA ,but can any one tell me the reason why XBLNR is empty in case of inbound delivery.

Hi,
If you do GR w.r.t. Inbound Delivery No in MIGO then it will not update "Reference" field i.e. XBLNR.
To update same with Inbound Delivery No, you have to do "Post Goods Receipt" from Inbound Delivery Document itself in VL31N or VL32N.

As my requirement is to procure Fuels in Batches only with external no. assignment without any parameters to be checked at the time of Goods Receipt? Batches are needed for Accountability purpose.

Batch-classification view
If you want classify a batch, then you should have maintained the batch classification in material master which is either class 022 or class 023 (depends on your batch level set in cusotmizing). The material class 001 has no impact on the batch classifcition, it is what it is: a classification for the material.

requirement: i have created one sequence to generate the batch numbers.i have to get the nextval of the sequence for batch number (this column is not part of the table. its dynamic column/alias column) only for every 50000 records of a table.
detail description:
for example, if i have 10 records in a table. And, if i want to generate the batch number for every 2 records, then the output should look like belo.
batch-number qty
1 10
1 20
2 30
2 40
3 50
3 60
4 70
4 80
5 90
5 100
Please help me on this. Please let me know if you need more info.

even if you try to create Return delivery without refrance to any order then it will determine item category,but gives error that,
YOU CAN NOT ADD THIS ITEM IN DELIVERY
because it is controlled by delivery document category
the delivery document category is - T (Returns delivery for order)

Revision number for Header material in Production order.

I have maintained Revision number in material mster for Header material in Production order and also for components.
1)Revision number for Header material in Production order is not appearing in AFKO table against production order.
2)Revision number for components in Production order is not appearing in RESB table against reservation.
Any settings for that please guide.

Revision number generation is using ECM only possible. Are you using the ECM with revision levels. Check this.
