Change BPS in iMovie 11
In iMovie 11 some fragments the bps changed automatically in 13 in stead of 25 bps which is standard, how can I change this ?
Select the music by clicking on it. You should see a yellow border around it when it is selected.
Now right-click (or control-click) and select DELETE SELECTION.

Change the pic iMovie passes to YouTube for it's ID pic for that video?
what else is there to say

it's not iM which selects this picture
that 'Poster Frame' is automatically generated by YouTube.
Go into your YT account, in 'information' YT offers you 3 poster-frames:
#1 is 1st frame of your uploaded video
#2 is 2x the length of movie/4 ... (e.g. 80sec movie/4 x2 = 40sec)
#3 is 3x the length of movie/4 ... (e.g. 80sec movie/4 x3 = 60sec) -
How to change format in iMovie 10?
I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to change project settings to anything other than HD 1080. There doesn't seem to be any way to do change to SD. iMovie help doesn't mention it. Is this kind of like Numbers find and replace, a feature sort of there but not working? If there is a workaround to change to SD, including editing the project file in a hex editor, I'd love to hear it. Thanks.
In iMovie 10 go to File>Share>File, choose the size (probably should choose either SD or Large) then click Next, give it a name, then click Save (remember where you saved it to).
Wait until the Activity Indicator shows that the sharing process is complete.
Go to iDVD. Go to File>Import>Video and select the file you created earlier. It will bring the video into your iDVD project. Prepare your DVD project and when you're ready, click the "Burn" button.
iDVD is no longer officially supported by Apple, but it still works great. -
Why doesn't iDVD burn changes made within iMovie?
I have iMovie 6.0.3 and iDVD 6.0.3 and have made several movies and DVDs over the past few years. But now have hit something very frustrating....
1) I've just completed a movie in iMovie. Took it to iDVD, created menus etc. then burned it to a DVD-RW. Noticed a couple of changes I wanted to make, namely a soundtrack volume adjustment, and a subtitle change (within iMovie). Made the changes in iMovie.
2) When I opened iDVD again, it said it noticed some changes in the iMovie project and would I accept them. Answered yes. When I reviewed these changes in iDVD preview, all was well. It showed the new subtitle.
3) Did another burn (3-4 hour process, mostly encoding) to disk image. Lo and behold, this new movie still showed the OLD subtitle!!
4) Deleted this disk image file. Checked the iDVD preview again, and it showed the corrected subtitle. Created a NEW disk image (for the THIRD time!) and four hours later discover that the OLD subtitle is still there!!!
What the heck is going on?? iMovie file was modified, resulting iDVD project file reflected the change, but the "burn" result does NOT reflect the change!!!! Why is iDVD Burn sill picking up the old version of my movie?____
Thanks-You're right. Only selecting Advanced>Delete Encoded Assets did the trick. Otherwise, even though iDVD recognizes that the iMovie file had changed, it doesn't necessarily "pick up" all the changes ....unless you Delete Encoded Assets.
I don't know which changes iDVD does or doesn't pick up, but in future I will always Delete Assets to be sure. Saves lots of time in the long run.
THANKS for your help!!
P.S. I did not have background encoding enabled. Never do. -

Need to make changes to the iMovie that has already been shared into iDVD
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to "update" or "reimport" the iMovie into the DVD project that has already had all the menus/buttons/text/dropzones formatted? I got almost to the end and realized I forgot to change the order of a couple clips. I really don't want to start all over in iDVD if it's possible to update it.
Thanks so much! Can anyone tell me if it's possible to "update" or "reimport" the iMovie into the DVD project that has already had all the menus/buttons/text/dropzones formatted?
Yes, it's possible however iDvd doesn't always take well to rearranging any of the video assets.
Here's a very good practice directly from iDvd's Help Menu:
Moving or renaming project files on your hard disk
If you move or rename a file (for example, movie, slideshow, or a song) that’s used in your iDVD project while the project is open, the project will not be updated to reflect the change. As a result, when you burn the project to a disc, the moved or renamed file will not be included. However, if you close your iDVD project before moving or renaming project source files, iDVD can help you locate the files again when you reopen the project.
To find a project file that you moved or renamed:
Open your project.
A warning dialog indicates that one or more files are missing and asks you to find the missing items.
Click Find File and select a missing file.
If other missing files are in the same location, iDVD will find and relink these files as well.
To remove a missing file from your project, delete the reference to it in the menu, slideshow, or movie button, and save your project.
Hope this helps but if not just come on back.

Changing the duration of a clip in iMovie. If 4 seconds was there originally and I want to extend it to 6 seconds then it will change to 8 seconds?
Try setting the frame count to less than that for a full second.

IDVD not updating changes made in iMovie
I 'shared' an iMovie project with iDVD. Project details were initially:
Video mode: PAL (Australia)
Aspect Ratio: 4:3
Encoding: Best Quality
Project Duration: 94:01 minutes
DVD Capacity: 3.3GB of 4.2GB
Motion Menus: 15.14 of 15:00 (minutes)
Tracks: 1 of 99
Menus: 5 of 99
As the motion menus (the total duration of all the menus in the project including still and motion menus, menu transitions and autoplay movies) were 14 seconds over quota, I went back to iMovie and reduced these by 14.05 seconds. On opening the project in iDVD and clicking on 'Update your project' I found on checking the project information dialogue box that no change to the length of my Motion Menus was indicated.
Can any throw some light on this?

I'll experiment some more and post my results to this thread in a week or two.

How to change font in imovie title
I have put some titles in my iMovie and cannot change the font. I click on the Title and the font fetures are not active, so it remains the default font.
Hey All,
I was struggling with changing fonts too -- then I used "Upper" which can be changed and Simply copy and paste it into any other style of title.
IT WORKS! (what a hack)

How to change dimensions of imovie appearance
the appearance of iMovie on some of the laptops I let young people use to make movies are different from the others. Abnormally small project windows for example. I have reversed the Events/Project windows...but that is no hope. How can I exercise control over the appearance of what I am working with in iMovie?
You might get a better response to your question over in the iLife > iMovie community. This forum is iMovie for iOS so most visitors here are working on a different platform, and while some may know about both products, many won't, me included.

Change name of iMovie Library?
USING IMOVIE 10 10.0.3
Simple request, I have Googled all over the place and cannot find answer!
I have two iMovie libraries. One on Ext. HD, one on iMac. I just want to rename them so I know which is which (currently called iMovie Library and iMovie Library 1). How do I do that?If you click the name of the Library in the iMovie sidebar then click it again you should be able to edit the Library name to whatever you like.
It's not a double-click, more like what you do when you want to rename something in a Finder window.
