Change Camera Resolution

Is there a way to change the default camera resolution? I know that you can change the resolution when sending as email. I need the photos taken with the camera to be smaller file sizes, but don't want to edit them after the fact.

Sorry, you cannot. Feel free to send some feedback: [iPhone Feedback|http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html]. Some members on other similar threads have mentioned that an application called PhotoGene will let you take photos at lower resolutions. I cannot vouch for the application myself though.

  • Camera resolution for iPhone 5

Hi, i have an iPhone 5 and i want to know if i can change camera resolution because some photos i did are 1280x1024 and i think is a bit too little for a 8MP camera. Please, help me!!!

My iPhone 5 default camera has also stopped shooting 8MP ever, regardless of light level.
The pictures are all 2048x1536 dimensions (3,145,728 pixels or just over 3MP).
    Should be 3264x2448 or 7,990,272 pixels = 8MP.
Anyone know what's up with that?

  • IPod Touch Camera -- Resolution Change?

Hello, I dunno what happened but for a while now my iPod Touch 4G's camera has been taking photos in 640x480 (480x360 portrait) resolution instead of what it used to take the pictures at (720x960 pixels).. did something change on Apple's end or did I mess something up?? My iOS version is 6.0

How are you determing the size?
There are no setting to change th resolution.
    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • WTK 2.5.2 change camera resoultions

    Hello!
I'm using NetBeans 6.1 with WTK 2.5.2, where can i see which camera resolutions are allowed?
Can I change the resolutions in the "DefaultColorPhone.properties" file or in any other file?
    Greetings

you can change the camera resolutions using your code . if your target device implements the advanced multimedia supplements API (jsr 234)
you can get the supported resolutions by
int []myResolutions= cameraControl.getSupportedStillResolutions();this array will contain the supported resolutions in pairs
    [480, 640, 960, 1280, 1224, 1632, 1500, 2000, 1536, 2048]
    index:
    0 - 640x480
    1 - 1280x960
    2 - 1632x1224
    3 - 2000x1500
    4 - 2048x1536
    next using the cameraControl interface
    cameraControl = (CameraControl)player.getControl("CameraControl");
    cameraControl.setStillResolution(1);

  • Nokia Lumia 820 change photo resolution

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me why can't I change the resolution in the photo camera? If I choose video I can select resolution, but on photo I cannot, there is no option. This is not ok, my phone took the last photos both in landscape and portrait at 1280x720 / 720x1280 resolution. If it has 8mpx why can't I benefit from this res?? who from Nokia had this brilliant idea of taking out the option to select the photo resolution???

I presume you are uploading your photos to Skydrive. The phone automatically reduces the resolution before photos are uploaded. To dwnload your photos at full resolution you need to either connect to pc via usb or change the auto upload settings as follows. Goto settings>backup>photos>best quality (needs wifi)

  • How do I change picture resolution from screen capture?

If I want to take the image on the screen in Encore CS5 and save it as a photoshop picture the resolution is 70 DPI.  Is there any way to change this resolution?  I would like sharper pictures if possible, 100 DPI to 200 DPI if this can be done.
    Encore CS5
    Core 4 2.4 ghz processor
    6 GB Ram
700 GB free on hard drive
    Windows 7 64 bit

I completely agree with your goal - getting as a good a resolution print as possible.  But your focus on dpi for the capture of a frame will not help you.
Kind of like scanning an image.  If you are going to blow it up later you want to scan at higher resolutions than if you don't.  There is of course image quality versus file size issues, etc. etc. but at least I would have the option to change resolutions on capture.
Scanning at a higher resolution adds more pixels.  So, for example, scanning a finely detailed 7.2 x 4.8 inch image at 300 dpi produces 2160 x 1440 pixels.  Scan a grainy photograph similarly, and it will be 2160 x 1440 and look lousy.  Use a 5 megapixel camera to shoot the original scene, you've got more pixels.  If you have only the SD video image, all you have is the 720 x 480 pixel image.  It doesn't matter how you set the dpi on capture, just that you capture all 720 x 480 pixels.
In Premier Pro CS5 and Encore CS5 the image size is 10 inches by 6.667 inches and the resolution is 72 pixels/inch.
Pulling from womble the image size is 7.2 inches by 4.8 inches and the resolution is 100 pixels/inch.
The part you are not listing is the fact that for each of those the pixel size is 720x480.  As long as you capture the 720 x 480, the resolution of the image is not improved by flagging it as 72 dpi or 100 dpi.  You can change that in photoshop for either of those captures, and you get a different print size, but no more or less pixels.
In either case, re-sizing the image in photoshop doesn't change the pixels/inch resolution.  I want to capture the original image in as good resolution as possible rather than having to correct it after capture.
"As good resolution as possible" is 720 x 480.

  • Why can't I save a picture after I change the resolution in CS5, I could before.

Why am I unable to save a picture one I change the resolution? I know that I am doing it correctly I have done this thousands of times and all of a sudden it doesn't work. Pictures will save if I make other adjustments i.e. crop, erase...etc. The changes are made while the picture is open in photoshop I see the resolution changing but when I save it simply does not. Beyond FRUSTRATED PLEASE HELP! AS ADOBE WON'T HELP ME SINCE CS6 has been released I was told if I want help buy CS6.

Have you tried closing the Photos app completely and seeing if the pictures save to the camera roll/saved photos album after you re-open the app ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Photos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Photos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset and see if it works after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IMPORTANT!!!!change the resolution in a form

    Hello,
I want that when i do double click in the main form, the system change the resolution.
This is, if I have the 800*600, when i Do double click in the main.fmx, then i want that the resolution change to 1024*800.
    Can you help me?
    Thank you

Unless you have added third party software, your built-in camera's resolution is set by the software you use.  (If you have added third party software to your new Mac, check its settings or follower its develper's instructions for uninstalling it.)
Restart your new Mac and test again.
Use good (means very bright) light for best pictures.
    More info: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3097
(The new Macs have changed the name from iSight to FaceTime camera, but the same info and troubleshooting applies to each.)
Finally, you can check whether there is a smudge or film on the camera's lens opening at the top of the display.  If necessary, gently wipe it clean with the cloth that came with your Mac.
If your new iMac's images are still worse than those from your old Mac when using the same software in the same position with the same lighting, contact your retailer as soon as possible to have the camera checked out.

  • Changing camera settings

    Hi experts
For my special application I want to change some camera
specific settings for example exposure time, gain and also some
video settings like contrast, brightness and ... I want to use
flash media server and flash media encoder, but I don't know how I
can change the settings mentioned ( I know that the above can be
easily controlled via DirectShow, but I don't like to use it). I
have spent lot of time for finding the answer but find almost
nothing. May you please help me? Even if changing camera settings
via FMS and FME is not possible, may you please tell me how to
change them via another program and still capturing via FMS and
    FME?
    Thank you
    H.P.I

Pardon the pun, but there's something wrong with this picture.
Photos from iPhone 4s, as was said by others, should have more than sufficient resolution for a simple printed album, if you're using the rear camera and you're importing them at full resolution into iPhoto. Is that what you're doing?
What size are the photos in the album - no double-page spreads?
When you check the problem photos in iPhoto, what does it say about it's resolution, file size?

  • Camera resolution

I can't change the resolution of my camera on my mini Ipad? All pics I shoot are very low resolution...

the MP doesn't determine the 'size' in terms beyond KB size, as far as i'm aware. I find the n900 cropping no hassle anyway though, it automatically puts it on the focal point i.e. the face, and you just drag to enlarge the included area. What's wrong with that? Even if you take a smaller image you'll still get the cropping screen

  • T400 (2765-A54) Camera Resolution ?

I just bought a Windows XP SP3 T400 2765-A54 from CDW and was verifying that it contains everything it is supposed to. The camera resolution is spec'ed at CDW and every other vendor (and in the general Google Tech Specs shown in Google shopping) as 1.3 Mega pixels (I couldn't find any info on this on Lenovo.com except in the outet, but it didn't specify any resolution there).
When I take a picture using the default windows camera app (when you click on the camera in My Computer)  it comes out 640 x 480  (0.25 Megapixel). There's no setting to change the resolution in the control panel or device manager. I also tried the Roxio Media Import that's in the installed Lenovo Camera Center, and there also doesn't seem to be a camera resolution setting. I also checked the Lenovo site for driver updates, and I have the latest driver.
Is the camera 1.3MP for photos ? If so how do I change the resolution?

The generation of 1.3MP webcams kinda sucked; there's no white balance control. The 2.0MPs are far better.

  • How to resize and change the resolution of a batch of photos using Automator

I searched for a long time tonight looking for the answer to this (seemingly) simple question:
How do I use Automator to scale and change the resolution of a batch of images?
    It was not so simple.

These are just the links on this site - I found them all over the place at MacRumors, Apple Tips, Mac Help, etc.
You can actually manage this in Automator.
Here are the steps that worked for me:
Create an Automator APPLICATION - not a workflow (this is due to the way that I'm batch converting images - workflows might be ok for some cases)
Step 1 is Copy Finder Items
My flow inserts an SD card, opens the DCIM folder that my Nikon creates, selecting the images that I click (command + click to multi-select) and once I have the photos highlighted, I drag them onto this Automator App we're creating.
<==  You'll have this guy soon!
As a result - I want to copy the originals to my computer as step 1.  I don't touch the originals on the SD card (and cards are cheap so I tend to leave them on the cards as well)
Step 2 is the Scale Images action - you can search the library for this and find it quickly.  For my part, I found that scaling images to about 38.8 percent of their size on the SD card is good for uploading to a blog.  Change this value to whatever you wish.
Step 3 is Run Shell Script - and here is where we marry the brilliance found at this link with our script. If you have a hard time reading the text in the image, it is as follows:
    #bin/bash
    for f in "$@"
    do
         /usr/bin/sips -s dpiHeight 72.0 -s dpiWidth 72.0 $f
    done
Save this application (I named mine "Format Photos")
Place the application inside the target folder where you want the images to end up.  I do this because when I have the SD card window open, I can also open my "Photos" window and see my App sitting there.  I select my images as I mentioned and drag them on top of this app.  The app copies the originals and the conversions into the folder.
NOTES: When you open a converted pic in Preview, you will see Resolution = 300 dpi if you go to Tools --> Adjust Size...  This reading is explained by another brilliant discussion as sips only touches the JFIF properties inside the file's MetaData.  However, if you look at the bottom of the Adjust Size... window, you'll see the image size is probably around 500 kb (give or take depending on the original).  My goal was to get the images down from the 3.0 MB I shoot at to around 500 kb.  Therefore even though the MetaData still thinks that it is 300 DPI according to Preview, it has been changed to 72 (open it in some other applications mentioned at the links and you'll find different readings - it all depends on what the application reads from the Meta).
This does not rename the files, so you'll get DSC_1000.jpg and DSC_1000 copy.jpg in all likelihood.  If that annoys you, add a step into the Automator Application that renames the file after the "Run Shell Script" action has run, and you can have each file renamed according to some convention that you like.
This took a heck of a lot longer than I expected - so I decided to put in the effort to share this with the community and save others the hassle.

PPI is pixels per inch of the image.  It is difficult to increase resolution as you are trying to add data that is not there.
But for printing purposes what you want is dpi or dots per inch.
The image processor either accessed from Bridge (tools/photoshp) or PS is a good way to change a batch of images.

  • Unable to Change Screen Resolution in Remote Session - Windows Server 2012 R2

Does anybody know of a way to allow Remote Desktop users to adjust their own screen resolution in a remote session under Windows Server 2012 R2? We are struggling with this and can't seem to find a solution.
When users login to their RDP session and try to adjust their screen resolution this message is displayed in Control Panel:
"The display settings can't be changed from a remote session."
We don't want to use the "make text and other items larger or smaller" scaling feature, as this produces undesirable results with some of our applications.  We also don't want to have to support multiple types of RDP clients or RDP shortcut
    files.
We have looked at other posts but can't find an answer that applies to Windows Server 2012 R2.  The closest thing we could find is KB2726399, but it only applies to Server 2008.
Does anybody have a solution for Server 2012?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Currently you cannot change the resolution from within the session.  This is normal and expected behavior.
Unfortunately this means you need to set the desired resolution before connecting by using custom .rdp files, manually within the Remote Desktop Client, custom web launch page, custom windows launch program, etc.
