  • Changing the OS local time while the database is Up and Running

    Hi,
Will there be any bad effect if I change the OS local time of my servers while the database and application is up and running?
Why do I need to do this? because the database is RAC configured and I want to avoid "brain-split" because of discrepancies
in the local time of DB Servers.
NTP is not yet implemented so I am to adjust the time manually for each servers.
BTW, I am using database 10gR2 (10.2.0.4) and EBS application (11.5.10.2). My nodes are running in Linux 4, 2.6.9-42ELsmp x86_64.
    Regards,
    Jay A

But my very concern right now is if there will be negative effect on the data or timestamp in the datafiles of the database
because I change the local time of the server while the database is running.Change time, that make time in database is changed. and you are changing time at milliseconds. you won't see affect.
we should worry different time between servers more than time changing
you can use ntpdate to query time different from server before.
    # ntpdate -q ntp.server.org

  • DMP-4400G How can I change the local time

    Hi,
Recently I installed DMS 5.0.2 and DMP-4400G for Digital Signage. Now I am running a Flash application that is embedded into a HTML page, but sometimes the DMP does not show the content of the flash, the LCD shows a temporary error; this error never occurs when I use a standard PC with any Internet browser to display the same content. The webmaster says that DMP does not have an updated time and date. Do you know how to change the local time and date of the DMP-4400G.
    Thanks for your help.

    Jhon,
    There are couple of things...
    1. The DMP 4400G has a internal clock but at this time there is no way to change the date & time on the DMP 4400G.
What does the date & time have to do with the Flash Content anyway?
    2. What version & type of Flash is being used for this embedded Flash content? Is the correct version selected & configured on the DMP?
    Cheers!
    T.

  • How to change timezone in B2B to reflect date fields per local time in DB

    Hi,
I am in EST zone and I could see the data in database with date columns having time in PST. One of my transaction just errorred , I could see from B2B user interface tool error report message date time as 2:14 EST, while when I check the database values from TOAD the value is 11:14, which indicates there is some setup which might have caused to update Pacific Time in the database, I am not sure what could be the setup. Can anyone please indicate or provide inputs on what could be the cause and how to set up the application so that the date type data is updated with local time in database.
    Thanks
    Sachin Sutar

    Hi Sachin,
We store the message using the database time. It seems like the database time zone is set to PST. To change it to a different time zone, please follow the instructions on this link:

  • Mail message viewer-can I change time zone for "time received" & "time sent" to my local time?

Does anyone know how to change the time zone MAIL uses to one's local time zone?  I'm talking about Apple's Mail Program that's "on my mac."  It shows all my "times sent" and "times received" in eastern time.  Not a big deal, but since I'm on the west coast, I'd prefer pacific time.  The menu bar at the very top of the screen shows local time, but Mail doesn't reflect that.  I have a desktop iMac, Lion 10.7.3.  Any help will be much appreciated!

I had the same situation on my current business trip.  Home = SF (Pacific time), current location = Houston (Central time, 2 hours later).  For a message I just sent (and received a copy of) at 6:34 AM local (Houston) time, Mail (v6.6, in Mountain Lion 10.8.5) was displaying Date Received as 4:34 AM.  I can tell 'ya, it's *not* 4:34 AM where I'm sitting
My practice on any trip to a different time zone is just what Carlo TD described -- use SysPrefs/DateTime to change the TZ to local geographic (and also change Calendar's TZ at upper right in its window, but that's not related to the Mail issue).  But when I did so, Mail didn't repaint its Date Received column.  On a hunch, I quit and re-started Mail.  Problem solved -- all the Date Received values changed to local (Houston) time!
Now to send Apple a Feedback that Mail doesn't repaint its displayed times when SysPrefs/DateTime changes the TZ...
[Interestingly, when I just posted this reply, the message in the thread shows something like "4:54 AM".  Perhaps Apple displays all Support threads in Cupertino (Pacific) time...]

  • Why does NOW function in Numbers supports only Pacific Time? How can I change it to my local time?

When I insert the NOW () function in any cell while using Numbers, it inserts the cell with Date & Time. The problem is that it comes up with Pacific Time. It somehow doesnt support the local time zone. I have made sure that the time zone of my device is set right. Is there anything that can be done to change this?

So what you want is for it to say Lebanon (English)?  If so, see if this helps:

  • My iPhone keeps changing the time of an appointment to GMT - even though I have set it for local time

I am using an I-phone 4 and a Mac Pro.  I have set them both to the local time.  When I set up a meeting on my computer in Yahoo calendar, and I check it on my phone it shows the correct time, but the time zone comes up etc/GMT.  I have changed them back to the local time, but it still changes my events.  Where do I change the time zone?  I have gone to settings, but still comes up with the GMT..  Help.

Sometimes the computer is running app(s) that mean that the computer stays awake. If you close all applications it will work, so the best thing may be to open each one on its own in turn to see which on is keeping your MacBook awake.

  • My iPhone 5 will change its time randomly throughout the day. How do I get this to stop and stay on local time?!

Randomly my iPhone 5 will change the date and time on my phone. A message will then come up saying I need to set my date and time in order to send or receive messages. It's on the automatic setting for date and time but this is happening 3 and 4 times a day now. It's really bad when it changes my date and time in the middle of the night and my alarm goes off at "600 am" but its really 230. Anyone know how to fix this? I haven't had my phone more than 2 weeks but really don't want to have to go back to the apple store to have them look at my phone.

Are you on Verizon?  Verizon has acknowledged a problem that they say is related to some towers not being compatible with the new OS.  I believe they said it will be resolved in a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the suggestion is to go to Settings/General/Date and Time and change Set Automatically to OFF.

  • Timedatectl local time is five hours behind my real wall clock time?

    timedatectl will look like this
    Local time: Thu-2015-02-19 14:00:00 EST
    Universal time: Thu-2015-02-19 19:00:00 UTC
    RTC Time: Thu-2015-02-19 19:00:00
My universal and rtc is the right time and my local time is incorrect. How can I make them all 19:00:00? I tried reading the time wiki and searched for various articles and I'm still confused.

Based on the timestamp of when you posted this, it looks like your UTC and RTC are off by 5 hours.  THAT is the problem.
As an example, I'm in the same timezone as you:
    $ timedatectl
Local time: Wed 2015-02-18 19:43:06 EST
Universal time: Thu 2015-02-19 00:43:06 UTC
    RTC time: Thu 2015-02-19 00:43:05
    Time zone: US/Eastern (EST, -0500)

  • IdM Scheduler and Time Change to Daylight Savings Time GMT to BST

This isn't really a 'question' , but just a topic for discussion.
We're not live yet, but will be by the time the clocks go back. So I'm just interest to hear everyone's experiences and any issues with regards to the switching to / from DST
I did some "interesting" (or not) tests last night to see what happens with Pending Values which are due to take effect at the time change threshold of 01:00 GMT when switching to Daylight Savings Time (BST) GMT +0100.
It seems as if the IdM scheduler keeps going according to UTC or GMT. However any values provisioned to target systems or to local tables using the ddm.datetime8601 system variable are in local time according to the runtime server or SQL server's locale settings.
I set up a task to output from a javascript the current system date
using the following in the functions.
    currentTime = new Date();
return currentTime.toString(); // returns Locale Time String
    currentTime = new Date();
return currentTime.toUTCString(); // returns UTC Time String
in the same pass I also output the ddm.datetime8601 system parameter and the ddm.time24 system parameter.
This task was to update a comment on an entry and Scheduled to run at 00:00:00 and was executed at 00:00:06 GMT all times were still in GMT as expected.
    Local Time: Sun Mar 27 00:00:06 GMT-0000 (GMT) 2011, UTC Time: Sun, 27 Mar 2011 00:00:06 GMT, ddm.datetime8601: 2011-03-27T00:00:06, ddm.time24: 00:00:06
This task was scheduled at 01:00:00 in IdM and was exectued at 01:00:08 GMT by the runtime, and you can see the local time is being correctly reported as 02:00:08 BST. Note also the ddmdatetime8061 is also 02:00:08 i.e. BST.
    Local Time: Sun Mar 27 02:00:08 GMT+0100 (BST) 2011, UTC Time: Sun, 27 Mar 2011 01:00:08 GMT, ddm.datetime8601: 2011-03-27T02:00:08, ddm.time24: 02:00:08
In the database the entry values MXI_VALUES ModifyTime field has the GMT / UTC timestamp.
I also set up some pending value objects to be applied at 00:59:59 and 01:30:00 to see if the 01:30:00 would be 'skipped' as the locl clock change would've gone from 00:59:59 to 02:00:00. Well the pending values were correctly applied and expired and no 'lost' transactions happened as a result of the change.
So essentially it seems to me that the IdM runtime and scheduler times are all based on UTC / GMT.
I guess it's only an issue twice a year if you're expecting something to happen at a specific local time 01:00:00 or if you've got a global user base and their account expiry should be in each user's own country's local time. In these cases, it would seem that you'd need to convert the schedule times and pending value times to UTC first before setting them in the database.
Has anyone else had any issues, thoughts, questions or suggestioins on scheduling tasks which span the DST time change when switching to and from Daylight Savings Time.

  • Can't change the date and time

On a recent trip abroad, my N96 automatically switched to the local time on arrival, but it failed to switch back to UK time when I returned. Now my phone is stuck 3 hours ahead, and it won't let me change the date or time manually. When I select Settings | General | Date and time, and click Open, 'Change' flashes up briefly, but even if I'm fast enough to click it, nothing happens.
I've tried reverting to the Factory Settings, but that did not resolve the problem. I've also checked for Firmware updates, but there aren't any. Any suggestions for fixing this would be very welcome...

Your operator doesn't seem to support time autoupdate while the operator you connected to while abroad does.
Go into the clock settings and set auto time update to "off". Then set the time zone to "GMT 0:00 London". This should bring the clock's time back to what it should be. If it doesn't, at least you can do so manually now (having auto time update set to "on" removes your ability to set the date and time manually).

  • Q: How to get local time in milliseconds?

    Hi,
As we know, Labview a G function which can get local date/time in
seconds. Is there any way to get local date/time in milliseconds? Or it
also helps if you know there is any similiar function in C/C++.
    Thanks!

The local time function returns a double precision number.
Depending on the platform you are using, the number returned
may have a subsecond amount. This means that you subtract
and multiply by 1000 to get ms. The platform that returns
this is Win32, and its resolution is 55ms. Other platforms
    will always return 0.
It is also sort of possible to synch the ms function with
the local time function, but this is not very accurate.
It involves watching the local time function in a loop
until it changes, and also sample the ms clock to synchronize
    the two clocks.
From that point on, you can use the ms
function exclusively, and do the math to get back to local
time. The problem with this is that the fast clock rolls over
about every 40 days, the clock may have some drift with the
local clock, and then there is daylight saving time and time
zone math, which is always surprisingly complex.

  • How to change wireless card locale?

I'm unable to connect to router, which is set to channel 12 or 13. So I start googling and I found out that in the US and Canada, approved channels are 1-11 but in Europe it is 1-13.
I check my wlan adapter on MB Air and wireless card locale is set to USA!
Is it possible to change wireless card locale to Worldwide?
    Thanks, David

The location on your Mac should be set by the same time zone used for the Mac's clock. (you don't say where in the world you are)
You have to log into your router to change the country/ area channel for the router.

  • Macbook Pro not saving local time machine snapshots

    Hi,
First time using the Apple forums here but I can't seem to find a definate answer for my question.
I purchased a new Macbook Pro last week that came with Lion preinstalled. I noticed it was taking local time machine snapshots. In Time Machine it said Local snapshots, then backups each day etc etc....
Now it does not say local snapshots and they are not in my time machine timeline.
The only thing I have changed is my backup drive for Time Machine (3TB drive 600GB used now) so I do not know why my local snapshot function has vanished.
I know Lion is very new but has anybody seen this or has some advice for getting it back on again?
    Thanks

  • DP background jobs in local time zone

We are using APO DP in an international environment (SCM 4.1). We have setup up the system, that is using the local time zone (personal user settings), which is working fine in interactive planning (data views & macros). But when executing the macros
in background (APO background jobs triggered immediately by a process chain), the macro is run based on the server time and not in the local time zone. The ALEREMOTE user is set up in the same way online users regarding time zone settings.
Can someone explain, why the local time zone isn't used in the macros when executing in background, and tell me which setting we have missed.
    Many thanks in advance
    Marco

    HI,
I understand the issue, the issue is the Australia gets days very first from the world.. it almost GMT+11 hrs. will almost a day difference to US.
I am not sure whether my proposal will make sense, but let me try
As the month completes we will copy the sales history  for the closed month. where technically the the month is current month as per the system time.
Why can not change the macro to copy current period and run at system time? i am not sure aobut the otherconstriantes.
But looking at your question, it could be possible where your client has the local time zone defined. you can check the same from any APO screen, from menu > systems->status. you can see both time zone ( local) system time.
I suggest you check with basis if we can use the local time zone, we can use the localtimezone but agian everyone has to use our local time.. NO SENSE i guess..
