Change Color of PNG file

Hi all -
apologies in advance if this has been asked....new to the board.
I have purchased and imported some .png files into my pages ('08) document. They are black....Any way to change the color? All instructions seem to be for Photoshop. Can I resave as a different type of file to enable this?
Thanks

The color model is RGB and the ColorSyne Profile is sRGB IEC61966-2.1......which unfortunately means nothing to me.
The colour model and the colourimetry defined by the ICC profile match (sRGB or Standard RGB is a colour space equivalent to HDTV and specified by Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard in 1996).
In other words, colour management is not part of the problem.
black design with gray background...although the background is transparent in the document
So in Preview the background is transparent and you see only the black design? And in Pages the background is transparent and you see only the black design, too? That is, Preview and Pages agree in relation to what you see? Or?
/hh

  • Cannot change color of png image in AI

    I downloaded a camera png image (http://simpleicon.com/camera.html) and am trying to change its color to red (B03B28). But the fill box is not working. It shows like the item is red but it will not change. Can the color be changed?

    go back to the download site and get the .svg file--that will open in Illustrator and you can change the color--the only way to change the color with the .png file is in photoshop

  • How can I import formatted text without iWeb changing it into png files?

    I have a resume page on my site and just realized it has changed into png files.
    The formatting is time consuming and I'd rather not have to reformat in iWeb to keep this from happening. Any ideas?

    Kyn,
    I tried that and it does stay text, but for the life of me I can't get the formatting to be consistent. Everything looks fine in Text edit as well as iWeb, but once published whether to .mac or to a folder on my own computer, the formatting goes whacky, some things are out of alignment but I don't know why. I can see in the code that the spacing is wrong but I can't figure out why.

  • Change Color Label of File with Javascript

    I need to be able to run a JS script from within Photoshop and when it's complete, change the color of the file in Finder to indicate it has been processed.  I'm talking about the red, orange, yellow, etc. highlights you can give the files in Finder.
    I know how to change these file colors in Applescript.  But I cannot figure out how to initiate the process from JS when run inside Photoshop.
    So I was curious if there was:
    A.  A way to run an Applescript from Javascript
    or
    B.  A way to define the property of a file from JS such that Finder would interpret it into a color highlight?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Here is some code from X that might be of use...
    //myscript.sh MUST exist with execute permissions!
      var script = new File("~/Desktop/myscript.sh");
      script.length = 0;
      script.lineFeed = "unix";
      script.length = 0;
      script.open("e");
      script.writeln("#!/bin/bash");
      script.writeln("osascript ... whatever");
      script.close();
      script.execute();
    Of course you would need CS3 orr better.

  • Adding Color to PNG files?

    Is there any easy way to add color to a PNG file? I tried in Photoshop and it's not looking too good. This is just a sample file for bidding purposes and the Client will provide native documents when it goes live. I did use the magic wand tool but still looks blah.
    Sorry if I sound ignorant, I usually edit all type and colors in PhotoShop. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    not sure what you mean margaret. do you mean you have a black and white image you want to colorize? search google for "photoshop colorize tutorial" if so. there's tons. if that's not what you mean, please explain more.

  • Change Color in Spcolor File but Color Not Changed in Site - SP 2013

    I have changed the color in the spcolor file that is associated with the theme selected for my site, but when I save it and upload it to the site again, the color does not change on the site. Is there another way colors can be changed that would override
    the spcolor file?

    Hi Tracey,
    Please download the orginal spcolor file for particular composed look/theme from that site collection themem gallery, then change the color value with Notepad application, then upload it back to theme gallery to overrride spcolor file, check out and check
    in this file, then see if the custom color could be changed for that particular composed look for your site, please try this in a test site collection firstly.
    Also you can try creating a new custom composed look with custom spcolor for your site per the following articles, see if it could work.

  • Edit a png file... change colors and text and then export to gif?

    First I want to state that I am VERY new to Fireworks and I am trying to figure out how this works!  I typically use Photoshop.
    I was sent a PNG file (from a friend).  The file has many buttons on it that I believe are somehow saved or exported out as gif images to be buttons on her website.  All of the buttons are basic rectangles that are gray with black text.  She was told she could edit all of the buttons quickly in Fireworks (change their color, font color, etc) and it would change them all together.  Then save them all out so we would have the individual gif files for the buttons to save to the directory.
    So... I am able to open the png file in Fireworks and I can select each button or all of them, but I cannot see how to change their color and font, etc.  I know this must be very simple!  Can someone help me?
    Thank you!
    Sharlyn

    Have a look in the ocument Library panel to see if the buttons are Symbols. If yes, then double click on one of the buttons to open it in the symbol editor where you can easily make changes in all of them at once.

  • Change color of pixels in a raster (png) image

    Hi,
    I have just begun using Illustrator CS6.  I have a very simple image (.png file) that I would like to annotate with some arrows and some text.  This file is what I guess you would consider a raster image (no vector graphics) that has a very limited color range.  It has less than ten basic colors plus a gradient fill (shades of gray) in a few places.
    I want to use illustrator to annotate this image with some lines with arrows and some text, but first, there are a few stray lines that I would like to eliminate.  For example, there is a black line that I would like to "erase" by replacing all the black pixels in this line with white pixels.  I tried to do this by selecting the "Paint Brush" tool and then selecting white as both my fill and my stroke color.  After doing this, I position the cursor over the pixels I want to change but the cursor appears as a circle with a line through it, and it doesn't do anything.
    If anyone can tell me how I can do this, I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

    Paul,
    If you have access to Photoshop or a another application that actually works with raster images (the circle with the line through it shows that Illy has no clue what to do with it), you can change the image quite easily.
    Edit: Hi John.

  • Changing transparency background color on PNG thumbnails??

    Okay so I don't know if this is possible but I would like to be able to change the transparency color on my PNG file thumbnails. Right now the background is black but when I open the file it is white in iphoto or transparent in adobe. It's not a HUGE deal but it does kind of suck when the image itself is black and then I can't tell what the image actually looks like just by looking at the thumbnails. Any help would be great!! Thanks!

    Jamie P:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The color that the transparency displays if a function of the application displaying the file and, in iPhoto, is set by iPhoto. It's just the nature of the beast. You can put in a feature request at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Hi, My places.sqlite file size is 30,720 KB have I reached the maximum size, is there even a maximum size for this. Visited links are no longer changing color.

    Hi,
    My places.sqlite file size is 30,720 KB have I reached the maximum size, is there even a maximum size for this.
    Suddenly the visited links are no longer changing font color, as I am preparing for an exam I need visited questions to change color, to keep track of questions that I have finished. But if I delete a few days of history then again,a few more visited links change color then again it stops, so it seems something is getting full and not able to accommodate any more? Why are my visited links no longer changing color after a certain number of visits? I do have a back up of the places.sqlite file. So I have tried everything from deleting the profile, uninstalling reinstalling, creating a new profile, then copy pasting places.sqlite etc, but as mentioned after a few visits, visited links no longer change color, if I delete a few days of history then again a few visits will again change color and then stop again, so what should I increase so that my visited links quota is increased, I have also tried tweaking about:config and it has had no result. Although I was not really confident that increasing brower.history_max _pages (don't remember exact name, but I am sure you get the idea) is going to help.
    Seems as though my visited links change color, quota is full and only if I delete a few days of history will I get a few more visited links to change color. Can somebody shed some light? As mentioned my places.sqlite file size is 30,720 KB so I think perhaps this has something to do with this? Would really appreciate if someone could help. Thank you.

    There is no maximum for the places.sqlite database and other SQLite database files like I wrote above.<br />
    All SQLite database file have fixed minimum sizes and if they run out of space they are automatically increased in size with a specific chunk size. For places.sqlite this is 10 MB for the minimum and for the chunk.

  • Colors in pdf files changed when I open those files in the iPad.

    I usually use iPad and Goodreader for reading journal articles.
    There is one big problem reading the papers using iPad because colors in pdf files looks abnormal.
    When I use my labtop and desktop, I can see whole colors in the pdf files, so I can see what is exactly happening in the images in pdf files.
    However, I cannot catch any details from those images in pdf files when I use my iPad.
    For example, some colors in the pdf files disappeared and whole images in the pdf files looks too dark.
    I searched for some informations to solve this problem using google but I cannot find exact method.
    Many people said about this problem for a long time (maybe three years ago?) but it has not been solved yet.
    Can anyone suggest me how to solve this problem?
    If this issue cannot be solved, I think I do not have any reasons for using my iPad.

    You've just uncovered something I don't really know.  I had naively thought the Central Database and Cache are one and the same (and that the [ Purge Cache ] button would clear saved settings), but now I'm not so sure.
    I tested by changing the parameters of a raw file, and I didn't see any files inside the Cache folder change their modification dates, which is not at all what I expected.
    I don't really want to press the [ Purge Cache ] button to check it here, because I want to retain my own settings.  You could try it and see if it clears the white balance setting on a particular file.

  • PS file in illustrator changes color when I move it??

    When I open a ps file in illustrator some objects change color when I move them and are displayed correctly in preview and Photoshop, why and how do I fix this?
    Also the object seems to be duplicated. It should have the same and only the colors of the scale bar. In another file the image part is correct and the scale bar is incorrect.
    Should look like this:

    It is an odd problem. The "good" screen shot is from opening the PS file in mac's preview. As it is, I use several tools in illustrator to get the final image where I need it to be; several layers and what not. I have tired 5, 5.1, and 6 with the same problem. Again I have a different problem when I use a different figure:
    As you can see just the opposite problem is the case. The map part is good while the color scale if off. Both parts are made in the same way and more or less in the same sequence, I don't think it is purely a problem at birth and other software can "see" it correctly, so I don't think it is a hardware problem.

  • Illustrator files changing colors

    i have illustrator files compiled in a book in indesign. everything looks fine and then when i create a pdf some of the illustrator files change colors (what's supposed to be black turns green). anyone know what could be happening?

    Black shouldn't turn to green. However, if you have PMS colors and you select convert to process in export you will get color shift. Does it print green? If it prints correctly, it's a preview setting in Acrobat that needs adjusting. I think if you select Show Overprint it displays correctly. I'm at home so I can't check in Acrobat Pro.

  • Change colors in the png - keep transparency

    I load a png-file as ImageIcon into a JLabel as setIcon(). A color of the png (generally color white) is defined for transparency, that in the JLabel is represented correctly as transparency.
    I want to convert now another dark color in ImageIcon like new Color (0,0,0) into a bright-grey-color like new Color (244,244,244), after the transformation transparency effect should kept by color white.
    How can that be done, please?

    BufferedImage is the easiest interface to the pixels yes. You can always load your images as BufferedImage instances and pass those to your ImageIcon objects; if you ever want the image back you simply cast the return value of ImageIcon.getImage() to BufferedImage.
