Let me preface my reply with the statement that I have not done this in 11; however, I have in System 9. I'm expecting it is similar; however, I cannot guarantee it. The flip side is that it should only take a couple minutes to test this out.....
The Hyperion products make use of CSS for applying themes to the web pages. The good news here is that if you at all handy with making changes to CSS files, you can make global changes relatively quickly to the site. In addition to controlling items like font colors, you can control font sizes, font types, spacing, background colors, dividers, etc, etc, etc. Additionally, the themes also include many of the common pieces of artwork/graphics used by the sites which you could change out if you wanted.
The default theme used is theme_tadpole
Depending on your specific environment, you'll find this folder in one of the following places:
\BIPlus\AppServer\InstalledApps\workspace_static\themes\theme_tadpole\images_global\If you are not using a Web server, the filepath to logon_panel.gif is similar to this:

\BIPlus\AppServer\InstalledApps\WebLogic\8.1\Workspace\applications\workspace\themes\theme_tadpole (assumes you're running Weblogic 8.1 but you should get the idea)
You will probably also see another theme, theme_tadpole_HC (I assume that stands for High Contrast).
What you can do from this point is make changes to the theme_tadpole folder as you see fit. I will suggest the following :
- Backup the original folder (duh!)
- Get yourself a color wheel. The colors as defined in the CSS will be using Hex. #CC0011 is a shade of red. (Use a free site like http://www.colorpicker.com/ to enter the codes in the CSS to figure out what colors they are in "real life")
- Decide what colors you want to replace and make a X-ref list
- Get yourself a good text search/replace tool (i.e. http://www.powergrep.com/), search for the old color, and replace it everywhere in the theme folder. There are many references to the same colors in the CSS and unless you want to change them all manually.....

but i am unable to login to workspace,shared services
what is the default username and password for these.Please let me know?

In Hyperion Workspace 11.1.1.3 can you globally set user preference?

In Hyperion Workspace 11.1.1.3, is there a way to globally set the Hyperion Reporting User Point of View to 'on' for all users?

Yes, you can. I believe it is in the Hyperion\products\biplus\lib folder for 11.1.1.3, but you may have to search for it. Look for fr_repserver.properties. Change the "     Prompt User POV" property from OFF to ON. You will have to restart the following services.
1.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Print Server
2.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Report Server
3.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Scheduler Server
4.     Hyperion Financial Reporting – Web Application (might be on different server)

You can provision admin user to BIPlus by login into sharedservices
login to shared services
go to user directories
select user
right click on user and click om provision
give the appropriate provision to the user
save the change

Hyperion workspace log-in issue for only one (in Shared Services) active di

Hi All,
This is Raj, working as Hyp support analyst.
I have big issue in Hyperion production environment. (version No. 9.3.1)
Issue is, we had issues with TWO active directories of Hyperion Shared Servces which ad1 and ad2. We found that the TWO respective active directories (ad1 and ad2) of their hosts are not working.
After that we changed those two active directories hosts with new host names respectively. We have implemented these changes in DEV first and those TWO active directories user able to access Hyperion workspace (HFM users) which are under ad1 active directory. offcourse we have all the servers as well.
But ad2 users are NOT able log-in to the Production workspace but they are able to log-in with DEV workspace.
Not really sure what happened... (Please note that, No access is changed for any of the users)... if it is LDAP issue...how it to resolve...
Can some one please help oout in this...

Hi,
Those error messages usually happen when Shared Services has just started up and before the other services have started, it sends out a ping to see if it gets a response from the other application servers, the pings will fail until the other services have started, once they have started them messages should disappear.
I would check that if any changes have happened to your MSAD or the account that shared services uses.

How to change parsing schema for using application in test environment?

Hi,
I set up a test environment, i.e. an other Oracle schema with identical tables, views etc. to the productive environment. I wanted to duplicate the APEX application so that there will be a test version using the test Oracle schema and productive version using the productive oracle schema.
Can some one please give me some tip how to do this? As far as I see i could change the parsing schema in the APEX Application install SQL in the following ways:
1. While exportin the application with APEX
2. In the result install f...sql file using search-replace
3. While importing the APEX application via APEX Development GUI.
I would prefere 1. or 3. but in both cases when I would like to change the schema name, the drop dowl list does not contain the test Oracle schema name. Do I have to grant something to the APEX worksspace schema for the test schema name to show up in the drop dowl list?

On that screen,
- click Create
- select "Existing" Schema, click Next
- select the Workspace, click Next
- select the Schema, click Next
- click Add Schema
And now you'll end up with two schema's attached for the same Workspace.

Email distribution options with the Hyperion Workspace Scheduler

Hello everybody,
We have scheduled several Hyperion Workspace Batches that use an email-bursting list to email out pdf reports to our user community. All of this works fine but the problem is that we have no detailed trace of the sending of report / destinee combination.
Also the emails are individualised, so even if serveral users receive the same report, we cannot do a single check with a user to see if all the other destinees are also in the To-section of the email.
The questions we have are the following:
* can we change the sending of the email in scheduler in such a way that all destinees are on the same email (in the TO section e.g.)? We would add ourselves on each email, so we receive a copy of all outgoing smtp email traffic.
* if not, can we alter the way messages are logged, so we can see the destinee and the report in the email?
* is there a way to have the outgoing emails in the Sent of our Exchange system?

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

do you have some old external authorization entries in your css.xml? (they occuur if you delete external user directopries from the sort order (see documentation of HSS). In our case we had arudimantary entry there. We deleted it (via HSS UI) en till now its running fine. The error did not occur after the change. (you have to re start HSS service after the change)

Also: you mention 100 users? But how many groups are you imortinh/caching?

Multiple schema for a (workspace) user

If I use XE and create a database user from the homepage/admin as system I get ( compared to an HTMLDB2.0 instance in an SE/EE-environment) a user with its workspace (the admin for this workspace). This user has his own schema and if he is logged in he can create application-users (HTMLDB-Users in this workspace).
(1) But how can I add more than one schema to this workspace?
I create a user TEST as system. got user TEST with schema TEST.
I have a database schema (only database schema) DEMO and want assign this so that the (htmldb)User TEST can create applications based on the schema DEMO (thats possible in HMLDB2.0 with SE/EE).

I believed thats an restriction - but want to get an official statment from development... -> SCOTT?
I know the basic workaround and then have to consider any changes in the mixed structure.
It makes sense to have data separated in different schemas and have only one workspace for bundling different applications, because of same securityInterface,
UserInterfaceDefaults... (easy delivering for departments, customers).
If the restriction exist (for newbies makes it easier to understand htmldb&oracle),
we have to accept.

Issue in Hyperion workspace tool menu

Dear all,
I'm using Hyperion workspace version: 11.1.2.1.0.83. I found a problem in the tools menu. The problem is " $ symbol in the tool menu" instead of actual menu names.
The following steps I followed before I found the $ symbol in the tools menu.
1) I login to workspace.
2) Clicked on Explore to view the reports.
3) Selecting the Tools menu.
Actual tool menu is having the following menus
Change Password
Change related Contents Links...
Change Database Connections...
Database Connection Manger...
Manage Key Figures....
Now the Tools menu is showing as follows.

You should check at least for the following services. As Cameron suggested you can stop these services and then start them in the following order (always waiting at least a couple of seconds after the service is up and running..then continue with the next one):

Adding "data owner" schema to apex workspace provided unexpected results

Recently I added a "data owner" schema to an existing apex workspace thinking it was a god idea.
As stated...
the schema that I added was a "data owner" schema and I was only suppose to have select capability for apex reporting.
After the schema was added to the workspace I felt I had owner privs on all of the schema objects and
could create objects and insert and update table records.
Needless to say... this is something that I do not want to do with tihs particular "data owner" schema BUT...
this is something that I feel is really good.
i.e. The Object Browser and Model are some excellent examples of the apex tool. :)I would just like to remove/block the insert/update capabilty against this particular schema from my workspace.
Any ideas on how to remove the update capability from my workspace or is it even possible?thanks in advance... :)

Have you ever successfully scheduled a batch? Make sure the scheduled batch name does not contain an ampersand "&" symbol or an apostrophe/single tick symbol. Those cause batches to error out for us.

I have recently installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2(Foundation Services and Interactive Reporting) in our environment.
The installation and configuration are successful. Also when I ran a sample BQY it works fine.
If I try to run the sample programs on the Hyperion server in their actual location, they work fine.
I am having problem setting up the SDK remotely and run the sample program.
I am getting the following error when trying to run the sample Login.java provided in /EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/SDK/samples/java/
Unable to setup SDK for Hyperion 11.1.2.2 remotely

Interactive Reporting is not opening in Hyperion workspace

Hi,
I have installed Hyperion Foundation Services 11.1.1.1.0 and IR 11.1.1.1.0
I am trying to access IR through Workspace
I could see the procedure like File-> New-> Document_> interactive reporting document.
Then i have selected a .oce file to make connection. but i am not able to progress to the next window.
after selecting .oce file a new pop up is getting populated.Then it is closed automatically in a fraction of second...
I dont know what is the problem.

Hi all,
I have tried the same with Mozilla Browser.
Here I am ablwe to open a page saying
Checking Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Client status......
then another one new win dow is getting opend.
In that window It was asking for the
"Press the 'Begin' button to start the installation."
asking for a confirmation.
I hav pressed Begin then an error comes
"Firefox could not install the file at

because: Download error
