  • Counter Base Maintenance plan.

    Hi all,
I had created counter base maintenance plan, speciefied equipment,in equipment maintained measuring point.
Then I created measuring point document, in this I had put 50 volt as my reading & click on SAVE,
then system immediated give masage create noti/service order.
if Yes then it create service order.
Now my question is is there any need to shedule maintenance plan?
Please tell me process of counter base maintenance plan.
    kapil

    Hi
       Maint plan for coutner
Create the maintenance plan with maintenance strategy(IP11) which suits the performance parameter. Assign proper maintenance item to maintenance plan.
If only one measurement point is created for technical object then it will be automatically picked up otherwise select appropriate among the available once. Set the scheduling parameter according to requirement & specify the start reading. Start reading is in reference to which maintenance plan starts scheduling.
Example: Maintenance cycle is 90 run hrs., Start reading is 6 hrs and annual estimation given in measurement point = 360 Hrs (1hrs/day). Scheduling period = 365 day. Current Measuring point reading = 1 hrs on 1st Jan 06.
Schedule plan on 1st Jan 06.
    Call no.     @Hrs     @Date
    1     6+90=96     1st April 06
    2     96+90 = 186     1st July.
System schedule call date based on annual estimation and its keep on shifting as counter reading increases with time. System will trigger the call object on schedule date even if measurement reading will not reach the specified value.
    Scheduling of maintenance plan
Once maintenance plan is created it needs to be scheduled at regular interval. Single plan can be scheduled by IP10 and Multiple plan by IP30. (Called Deadline monitoring) This can be done manually or batch job can be created.
hope this will help. also please refere saphelp.com for further info

  • Counter based maintenance plan triggered improperly

    Hi,
we have created one counter based maintenance plan with cycle unit 1000 hours  offset unit 0 hours this plan was created on 21.04.2008 . But 68 orders triggered on 19.04.2011 why it was happend.
how find start of cycle reading  for the Maintenance plan?
    Regards
    Ganesh

    Hi,
Counter based plan will work based on the Measuring point assigned to that.
In Measuring Point, you would have defined the Annual Estimate. Based on the Annual Estimate & Cycle value in Plan & Scheduling period in the plan, based on all these, call object would be generated.

  • Counter in Maintenance Plan

    Dear All,
i´m not sure. Is it advisable to use a own counter for each maintenance plan and is it better to create a own performance-based maint. plan for each equipment?
    Thanks for your help!
    Andreas

Actually, it depends on your requirement. A counter is created for an equipment and when you create a maintenance plan with performance based units in the cycle, the counter is automatically proposed from the equipment master data based on the unit mentioned in the cycle or performance based strategy.
You can create a single maintenance plan for multiple equipments using multiple maintenance items but for this, you need to ensure that all of the performance based units are the same for all equipments and the cycle length/strategy cycles is the same for all such equipments.

  • Change of preventive maintenance plan

    Hi All,
    My scenario is,
1)I create maintenance strategy for preventive strategy plan.
2)assign that   strategy to task list
    3) create one maintenance plan
After some time i want to add one more package to  both  strategy  as well as in task list.
can these changes reflect in my maintenance plan created before?
    Regards,
    Bhanu Pradeep

    Hi Bhanu,
what you are saying is not possible for what all dates the documents are generated, but once the changes have been done then the orders generated after that can have the changes.
    Hope it helps you.

  • Settings for performance based maintenance plan

    Hi experts,
Incase of hour or Km dependent performance base plan, how we can fix the reading (In hours or Km) limit or period of order generation? what is the impact of annual estimate? Please give me an example with all readings.
    Regards,

When you create a plan with a counter (Associate a measurement point of counter type to the same), then you would be able to specify at what intervals (Counter readings for this measurement point), the call object associated to the Maintenance plan should be generated.
The actual call date for this maintenance plan however depends on the "Annual estimate " for the measurement point counter and also the actual counter readings captured for the measurement point
For ex: Annual estimate maintained for the Point : 12,000 Miles .Maintenance for this equipment should be triggered for every 1000 Miles (This should be the counter interval maintained for the Maintenance plan). Based on the above the maintenance plan would generated a call every one month (Annual estimate / period). As an example,  when this Maintenance plan is scheduled for 1 yr, then 12 maintenance calls will be generated one each for every month. The actual and scheduled dates for the call depends on the various other scheduling parameters maintained for the Plan.
Its critical for any counter based maintenance plan that the counter reading is Captured , Through measurement documents regularly, EVEN IF THERE IS NO CHANGE TO THE COUNTER READING, Otherwise, the system generates call objects (for example, maintenance orders) based on the estimated annual performance entered for the counter, even though the counter reading has not in reality been reached.
for ex: owing to a vehicle breakdown/ repair if the vehicle has been in repair shop for a month,To avoid a maintenance order being created before it is needed, you maintain the new total counter reading in the system regularly over the period of the month. You then reschedule the maintenance plan using IP30, and the call date is recalculated based on the updated counter reading. In this case, the call date would be later.

I have a need to enable this program which was delivered in one of the enhancement packs.  We have thousands of maintenance plans that need to be modified.
    A couple of questions:
    1) how do I activate as little as possible to allow me to use this program
    2) With this enhancement activated, am I going to be putting myself on a new support pack line.

    hi,
I just know go to transaction SFW5 to check whether all components required for the operation of system are activated (switched on). But I do not know exactly which component is affected for this function.

  • What is the use of OR and AND functions in counter based maint plan

    Hi
I want to create a counter based maintenance plan...
I entered the measurement reading for the counter, reading is 4000 hrs
    IN IP43
I created the counter plan with cycle as 6000 hrs. Once the document reaches 6000 order will be created. While creating the maintenance plan, in the maintenance schedule parameters, i check there is OR and AND functions avaliable...
I know the basic use of both the functions..
But what is the significance in the maintenance plan....
Will it give any effect, between the schedule date and measurement docu entries...
Since i need to maintain like... once the counter reaches 6000 hrs only order should be created.. it should not create once the date as been reached... since due to present condition, i am not running the DG....
    Give ur inputs
    - Pithan

    Hi
    Thank you for your reply
    As you said...
If you want order to be created only after certain Hrs to be reached to cycle value then you may opt for single cycle or strategy cycle
can u explain how to do it...
In single cycle or stratergy... if u schedule the plan itself, the dates will be populated.. it will calculate with respect to the annual reading we have entered in the measurement document...
My DG overhaul to be taken in every 6000 hrs... i create a plan... i have given the annual reading as 8000 hrs... if i schedule the plan for 5 yrs... wat will be the call objects...
Then i am running the DG for 3 hours a day... my annual running hrs will be 1000 hours.. but my order will be released since it has crossed the dates...
how to control... is it possible to do it in IP43 with multiple counter...
    How to do this ?
    Cna u explain

    12     21.01.2012     21.01.2012                    Scheduled  Hold                   120000
In this case system  check both pland date and next planned counter readind and generate   the maintenance order on the call  date  although next planned counter reading not reach uptpo the  planned counter.
But our clint want the maintenance order on next planned counter reading only not on call date please help  me the any solution  for fullfilling the requirment.
    Raghav

    Hi Raghav,
Maintenance order will be generated on counter reading entered in measuring document only.
It is the annual estimate because of which we can see the planned & call dates, which are used for maintenance planning purpose.
Call date and plan dates keep on changing according to measurement documents creation. You create the any measurement document against the same counter which used in plan and see whether dates changes or not.
Dates get changed on counter reading and hence order is generated on counter reading only, not on the dates shown in scheduling as dates are dependent on counter reading.

  • Work Order - Maintenance Planning plant change

    Hi Gurus,
Is there any way to change the maintenance planning plant in a created work order? We are having an issue on work orders and we need to tranfer our open work orders to another plants to solved the issue. Please me let me know if this is possible to do in SAP. And let me know how to do it in SAP.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
The start of the plan is not option as this will surely have an impact. Anyway, work around for this issue was provided and this is OK now. We will continue with the old orders untill such time they will finally be closed. No postings will be created against this old orders and if there's a need to do GR new orders will be created in new plants for the postings.
    Thanks for you help,

  • Changing a cycle in an active maintenance plan

    Hello All,
I received a request from an end user to make a change to an active maintenance plan. The plan has a 3mo cycle. The users would like to first, generate a call for March 2011 and second, to change this to a an annual cycle. I am able to use the 'Restart in Cycle' to generate a call in March, unfortunately, I am not able to figure out how to change the cycle from 3mo to 12mo. Is it possible for to change the plan cycle from 3mo to 12mo once the plan is started? The header section in IP10 is grayed out.
At the moment, it looks as though I need to create a new maintenance plan to accommodate the request.
    Thanks in advance.
    Anna

    Mahee,
Appreciate your quick response. This was a strategy plan and I was able to make the changes as you had suggested, through the task list.
Thank you so much for your help!

  • Maintenance plans for Backward counter

Is it possible for having a preventive maintenance plan for a measurement point that counts backwards?
Your inputs on this will be appreciated!

    Help !
I am looking for help with Counters and Timers and using them with a Maintenance Plan. We have about 10 count down timers mounted in one of our facilities. These timers are tied to the machine and measures the time until a mini or major PM will occur. These count down timers were previously used with the old CMMS system to assist in the scheduling of maintenance activities. We have recently converted them from the old CMMS to SAP PM but I am struggling with getting the count down timers to work in SAP. These timers are reset at 5000 hrs and as the machine operates, time is removed from the timer. A technician periodically reports these times to the system for scheduling purposes.
I have created the Measurement Point for a Functional Location.
I have identified that it is a counter.
I have it identified that it Counts Backwards.
When I try to assign this measurement point to a Maintenance Plan, I get the error "Only counters that run forwards can be entered"
How can I use the countdown timers to create pre configured (PM) work orders?
    Thanks in advance.
