Change crop-mark offset default/settings?

I would love it if there was an option to make the crop-mark offset equal the bleed. Very often when printing or exporting PDFs, even if using a preset that's defined as including bleed and crop-marks, I still have to check the bleed amount and manual change the offset to match.

Thanks for the action. I loaded the cs2/cs3 version into the actions panel in CS4 but when I tried it out I can't get it to work. I created a rectangle to use as a bounding box, then ran the action. It first came up with this error:
"The object "Ungroup" is not currently available." Stop or Continue
When I press continue, it runs through all the different steps in the action but instead of crop marks all it gives me is a tiny rectangle a fraction the size of the original bounding box rectangle that I originally specified.
Is this happening because it's not compatible with CS4?

  • Change crop marks offset

    Do someone know how to change crop marks offset into Framemaker 7? I want to extend then to 0.125" (9pt) Thanks!

    These are hardwired and cannot be changed.
    You can always create your own crop marks on Master pages (objects can always be placed outside the defined page boundaries) or change the page sizes to allow you to see what you are adding. At print time, specify the sheet size required. FM always prints the "page" centred on the specified sheet size.

  • Can Change Object Placement Wrap Default Settings?

    I use a lot of text and image boxes in Pages. I would like the default setting in the Wrap pane in the Inspector to be "Floating" and the check box to be unchecked for "Object Causes Wrap." Most of the time I have to open up the Inspector to change these settings for each my text and image boxes and it would be much easier to change the default setting.

    You can set default wrap for any object as well as many other settings. You need to create your own default template. Open the blank template & insert a table, click in it & choose the font, size, color, etc. you want in the fonts panel or format bar. You can do similar changes to inserted objects & text boxes. While you're at it resize the box if you want, set the amount of extra space in the wrap inspector, etc. Delete each text box, object & table after you've set them. Set up your document with the line spacing, margins, headers, etc. as you'd like. Redefine all of the paragraph & character styles to have your desired font. Now, save this document as a template & select that template as default in preferences. If you decide to make any changes to the template down the road, just Save As Template again with the same name & replace the previous version. All of your new documents will have these settings for inserted objects, images & tables. Unfortunately, the settings won't apply to any other templates or "foreign" documents you open with Pages.
    I don't know about setting the default to floating. When I drag & drop an object onto a Pages document it always is floating.
    About the only thing you can’t set a template to do is remember to show invisibles & the window position. It is possible to get a template to show invisibles when opened, if you want. Save this document as a document then, in the Finder, change the extension from .pages to .template & put it in your My Templates folder in (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. Set up your document with the line spacing, margins, headers, etc. as you'd like. Redefine all of the paragraph & character styles to have your desired font.

  • Changing png export ppi default settings

    Can I change the default export png ppi setting from 72 to 300?

    Thanks Larry - I can use the action and it works beautifully as a standalone. I was hoping to incorporate the function in an applescript but I have a scripter who absolutely denies using actions in an applescript.

  • Adobe Document Services - Default Settings

    Hi there
    We are providing users with the functionality to print their reports through PDF. This functionality is working almost perfectly (apart from the irritating fact that multi line cell headings are not printed), but what I have been requested to change now are the default settings that are displayed when the download starts.
    There is a screen that asks for the theme that should be used, and more importantly, the page layout ... it would be great if we could change those default settings, but I don't know where that is done ... any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Andrew

  • Apple Pages Document inspector default settings

    I got nowhere with the explanation on how to change the default settings in Apple Pages Inspector>Document inspector: I want .25 inch margins and no Headers or Footers: please specify Menu, menu item and precise selections in, e.g., Pages Preferences

    Okay, I got it. And here's the kind of precision I need to be helped: in Pages, create a new document, open the Inspector, go to the first choice on the left, Document inspector, placing the cursor over the first item on the left identifies that selection on a yellow label, make your selections there, in my case .25 inches for all the margins and uncheck the Headers and Footers boxes, I don't want headers or footers; go to the File menu at the top left of the screen, select Save as Template..., name the file, indicate where you want to store it and Save it, go to the Pages menu at the top left of the screen, select Preferences..., that will open the General Preferences screen, select the first item at the top, General, if it's not already selected, select the second item if it's not already selected, Use template: [the name you gave the document you just saved might appear here] and click Choose, select My Templates at the bottom of the screen, which may already be selected, select the template you just set up, and click Choose. Close the General Preferences window. I set up two templates, the original template provided by Apple, and mine. To change the Inspector document default settings, I go to the Pages menu, select Preferences..., select the second choice, Use template, click Choose, select My Templates, select whichever template I want for my documents, and click Choose. All new documents will now be formatted according to the default settings I just selected for Inspector>Document inspector.
    Here's a related item I don't get: Page Setup... the third item, Paper Sizes, last choice, Manage Custom Sizes.. allows you to choose the margins you want in the custom setup you've selected. But it doesn't apply those margins to the document you're working in even though it will apply the page dimensions you've chosen. You have to go to the Pages Inspector>Document inspector and make the margin changes there. Why offer the choice in Page Setup if the choice doesn't work? It would save time if it did.

  • How do I change the alignment of crop marks?

    When exporting a document as a PDF the crop marks are automatically aligned with the edge of the document, but I need to move them a couple of millimetres in to account for the bleed.
    I can't find any options where I can change this. The only option I can see is 'offset' but that just varies the actual distance of the crop marks from the document.
    I'm sure it's something really obvious but I'm going nuts here. Any help would be great. Thanks.

    Why not make the document the cut size and set the bleed in the document? That's out of box and standard.
    Alternately you can use the Crop Marks script found in the Scripts panel and make boxes in your document's cut size, crop marks based on their bounds.

  • Crop marks default

    How to change defaults when creating crop marks from the effects menu? I have to create my own crops at work more often than not, specially when we have more than one job on the sheet at different sizes. The ones created in Illustrator are at 0.25" from trim and 0.5" long, I would like to make it 0.125" from trim and 0.25" long. I remember a script that did just that, but can't find it in here. Anyone with ideas? Help is appreciated.

    Yes, I can advise that I called Adobe shortly after receiving CS4 to report this problem. They took away "Filters" and thus the crop mark command (for a few years it was called Trim Marks to distinguish it from the crop mark command in another menu) vanished.
    Not only can't you select the trim marks to modify them, you will also find that unless the selected object(s) are grouped, you get a multitude of crop marks. It's idiotic and it's broken and there should be a fix for it before we have to upgrade to CS5.
    Moreover, if you make a rectangular bounding box, and then surround it with crop marks, and then turn that bounding box into a guide, your crop marks disappear.
    It's just a broken feature, that's all, and multiple artboards is not a good excuse for it.

  • What camera raw default settings would you use for the Canon 5D Mark 3. I have PS CS6.  Thank you.

    What camera raw default settings would you use for the Canon 5D Mark 3. I have PS CS6.  Thank you.

    Really, this is a question you should be asking yourself...
    What do you shoot? Makes a difference...
    Typical ISO that you shoot? Makes a difference...
    Shooting for clients or yourself? Makes a difference...
    Look, there is no magic bullet...the ACR/LR "Default" should only be changed for those adjustments you make 70-90% of the time and sould not be confused with image by image adjustments...
    So, as asked, your question can not really be answered other than to say, use a default that suits you.

  • Change default settings when user share file

    When users click on share file default setting is:

    Is there possible to change to:
    Can view and NOT mark an email invitation

    Hi,
    According to your description, you want to change default settings to
    can view and uncheck send an email invitation when user share file.
    To by default uncheck send an email invitation.  Go to the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\AclInv.aspx".
    You can change:
    <wssawc:InputFormCheckBox
    runat="server"
    id="chkSendEmail"
    Checked="True"
    LabelText="<%$Resources:wss,aclver_SendEmailCheckbox%>"
    To
    <wssawc:InputFormCheckBox
    runat="server"
    id="chkSendEmail"
    Checked="False"

    Is there any automated way of setting default privacy relationship in Lync to "Workgroup" for end users by means of powershell, Lync policy etc.
    Vinny Mistry

    Simply, no there is not.  You could maybe hack something together using export-csuserdata and update-csuserdata and changing relationship status within the XML, but it would be difficult and unsupported.

  • Crop mark settings

    Hi everyone,
    There's a command under the effects menu called crop marks but when I use it, the size of the crop marks and the distance they appear from the object is always the same. I wondered if someone could tell me if there are any settings you can change with relation to the size and distance of the crop marks?
    Appreciate any help.

  • How to change default settings for a video generator?

    I'm using a video generator (Lyric Media's Pan Zoom Pro) many times in the same project, and have to change the default settings for each new instance of the generator that I create. I'm wondering if there's any way to change the default settings for a generator (i.e., length of clip, individual slider and checkbox settings in the "controls" tab) so that each new instance automatically has my customized settings when I first open it.
    Thanks.

    That works for the all the controls/filter settings. The clip length still defaults to 10 seconds, but that's OK, since the main thing I was looking for was to change the clip's internal settings. Thanks for your help

    For sideloaded content the nook pulls the metadata from ePub file itself.  I would suggest looking at a program like Sigil or Calibre that will let you edit the metadata in the book to make it appear like you want.
    For the PDF vs ePub - No, that's the way PDFs work (think of them as graphics, not text), wheres ePubs are Web Pages - so  no you can't them to behave exactly alike without converting the files.

  • How do I change the default settings for opening documents on my macbook?

    Hi I would like to know how to change the default settings for opening documents on my macbook. Everytime I try to open a doc. it automatically opens with Textedit, instead of Pages or another program.

    Select any particular document you wish to fix. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Open With section select the desired Default Application from the dropdown menu. Click on the Change All button to extend the change to all similar documents.
    You can only assign one default application to one type of document.
