  • Change chart of accounts in Controlling area

    Hi all,
How can I  change the chart of accounts in controlling area?
I've already changed chart of accouns in FA CoCode Global data, and I have to change chart of accounts in controlling area;  In OKKP chart of accounts is in display mode

I get the message; where I have to assign Chart of acc to Controling area in OKKP is not possible
Differing charts of accounts: INT - CAXX
    Message no. KT299
    Diagnosis
The system makes consistency checks during assignment of a company code to a controlling area as part of assignment control.
The same checks take place if assignments already exist and you change the basic data in the controlling area, or if you define the controlling area and company code as a 1:1 structure.
If the check finds an error, the system cannot execute the function ("Assign" or"Change basic data"). If you do not maintain the required data for the consistency check (such as currency, chart of accounts, or fiscal year variant in the company code), this also results in an error message.
Chart of accounts INT, controlling area XX01, does not agree with chart of accounts CAXX, company code XX01.
    System Response
    Processing is terminated.
    Procedure
Ensure that the same chart of accounts is assigned to controlling area and company code.

  • How to change standard PCA hierarchy for Controlling Area?

    Dear all,
I'd like to change standard PCA hierarchy for Controlling Area. System doesn't allow me to do this with the following message:
    =====================================
Standard hierarchy CIS for COAr 0700 already contains profit center(s)
    Message no. KM160
    Diagnosis
You wish to change the standard hierarchy of a controlling area, however, profit centers have already been assigned to the hierarchy. For this reason, you may not change the standard hierarchy for this controlling area.
    =====================================
    How can I change it?

I will clarify the business requirements behind this request.
We are currently implementing PCA for a customer. However, technically, PCA was already switched on several years ago and it was used for some not-really-accounting customer functionalities (Z* reports) .
So, currently the PCA hierarchy is total mess. No logical heirarchy, a lot of weird profit centers... Not posibly to use this for segment reporting at all. And I would like to sort this out for this project.
Is it possible to reorganize current standard hierarchy? Remove profit centers and profit center groups out of there? Forbid postings?

  • Changing Currency Key

I've got a US MBP but have recently moved back to the UK. So the currency key on the number pad is still in dollars, rather than UK pounds. I went into the international settings area and changed that all to UK region, which clearly shows the UK pounds symbol and date format, but when i use any application and click the currency key its still showing as a $. This is very frustrating and is effecting email most of all, but flows into all applications i use. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

As follow on if you go back to a US keyboard set up the £ is still a modified 3 key but the modifier is changed from ↑3 to alt3 and the € is a three finger shuffle alt/↑/2.
Another thing to watch out for when switching between UK and US keyboards and if you plug in a none apple keyboard (generic windows type USB keyboard is that the @ and " swap positions !

    Ajay,
No, its not possible to change to a maintenance plant that belongs to a company code in a  different controlling area. You should be able to change the maintenance plant within the same controlling area however.

  • Controlling area currency - urgent

    Hi,
In a project we are using Controlling Area Currency as INR. As our group company is europe based they want us to change to EUR. We are also using PCA where currency is INR. I want to know the pros and cons of changing the same to EUR from INR.
    Bye,
    Ramesh

    Hello
Check this if it could help you
When you create a controlling area, you specify whether the controlling area currency may differ from the company code currency, and which particular currency is to be the controlling area currency.
You can use the company code currency or the currency of a different organizational unit recorded as a parallel currency in the company code. You can also use a separate controlling area currency not dependent on the company code currency.
Cross-company code cost accounting can therefore be performed for company codes that use values recorded in different currencies. SAP recommends that you specify a consistent parallel currency for the company codes, and use this as the controlling area currency. In this case, postings in Controlling are made that are relevant for Accounting.
The following currencies are valid in Controlling:
    · Controlling area currency
The system uses this currency for cost accounting. This currency is set up when you create the controlling area. It is based on the assignment control indicator and the currency type.
(see:  Specifying Controlling Area Currency )
    · Object currency
Each object in Controlling, such as cost center or internal order, may use a separate currency specified in its master data. When you create an object in CO, the SAP system defaults the currency of the company code to which the object is assigned as the object currency. You can specify a different object currency only if the controlling area currency is the same as the company code currency. There is an object currency for the sender as well as one for the receiver.
    · Transaction currency
Documents in Controlling are posted in the transaction currency. The transaction currency can differ from the controlling area currency and the object currency. The system automatically converts the values to the controlling area currency at the exchange rate specified.
The system always translates actual data with the average rate (exchange rate type M).
You store the exchange rate type for each currency. You can specify a different exchange rate type for planning data in the version.
All three currencies are saved in the totals records and the line items. This enables you to use the different currencies for evaluations in the information system. This is only possible if you specified that all currencies should be updated for the given controlling area (see: Maintain Controlling Area).
The transaction currency is USD, the controlling area currency is EUR, and the object currency is SFR (Swiss francs). The system converts the amounts as follows:
1.) From transaction currency to controlling area currency (USD ® EUR)
2.) From controlling area currency to object currency (EUR ® SFR)
The following additional currencies may also appear as controlling area currencies in Controlling if you use cross-company code cost controlling:
    Local Currency:
Company code currency (country currency) used for local ledgers in external accounting.
For each company code you can specify one or two parallel currencies (= second and third local currencies) which are stored in the documents and updated parallel to the local currency in the general ledger.
    Group Currency:
Currency in which the group balance sheet is displayed.
You can specify it as a parallel currency (additional local currency) for a company code.
    Hard Currency:
Secondary currency for countries with high inflation. You can specify it as a parallel currency (additional local currency) for a company code. You need to specify the hard currency in the detail screen for the corresponding country.
    Index-Based Currency:
Country-specific, fictitious currency stipulated in certain countries with high inflation for tax returns. You can specify it as a parallel currency (additional local currency) for a company code. You need to specify the index-based currency in the detail screen for the corresponding country.
    Global Company Currency:
Currency used in a corporate group. In the CO application component you can create companies to represent divisions, regions, or product groups.
You can specify it as a parallel currency (additional local currency) for a company code. You need to store the global company currency in the detail screen for the corresponding company.
For more information on defining parallel currencies, see Customizing under Financial Accounting ® FI Global Settings ® Company Code ® Parallel Currencies ® Defining additional local currencies.

  • Currency in credit control area - Urgent !

    Hi,
The client wants to change the currency in the credit control area from SIT (Slovenian Tolar) to EUR ( Euro). Can somebody list the impact of changing the currency in the credit control area.
    Its URGENT !
    Regards
    Karpagam

    Hi,
I don't think we can change the currency of Credit Control Area after the transaction data is posted. For the same Custome account part of the transactions will be in SIT and part of them in EUR. Even if it allows it leads to inconsistencies in the tables.
Check whether there are any OSS notes for changing the currency of Credit Control Area.
Probably, you can consider to set up a new Credit Control Area with EUR currency.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • Posting in Controlling Area Currency

    Hi
    We have the following Scenario
Actual Balance in WBS Elements X  is 15000.00 AUD (Object Currency) and 12000.00 USD(Controlling Area Currency)
We have transffered the balance from X WBS Element to Y WBS Element by netting of the Object Currency to Zero.
Resulting that the revised balance as below :
    Object Currency = 0.00 AUD
Controlling Area Currency = 1000.00 USD.
We like to net of the Controlling Area Currency also in WBS Element X.
Is there any way of posting the same in Controlling Area Currency Alone.
    We want the solution urgently.
    Thanks and Regards

I haven't tried it but below should be the process to report in diferrent currencies
Check if you have the All Currencies Indicator in the Controlling Area.
Also check the customising node CJEC (Currency Translation) and OB08 (Maintain Currency Exchange Rates)
In the reports choose from the menu Settings -> Currency to report in diferrent currencies.

    Hello
    I have almost similar question...
When executing a profit center report for a company code with another currency (SEK) than the Controlling Area currency (DKK) I get the figures in DKK. When executing a Cost Center report for the same area I get the figures in SEK because of 'Object currency' in RPC0.
Will I not be able to get data in Profit Center reports in SEK without make a currency 'translation' where I have to choose an Exchange rate type and date?
    Thanks in advance

  • Credit Control area not filled in table KNVV

    Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and first and foremost want to thank the particpants here for their contributions, which have helped me a lot in the past.
I am facing a problem today and hope some of you could assist me with some hints on how to solve it. In the existing forum entries I could not find a solution.
I am working in a Rapid Deyployment Solution IS Retail ERP and am trying to have table field knvv-kkber filled (credit control area). Right now it remains empty, although customizing exists in a way that credit control area exists, it is assigned to company code and sales area. Customer also has a record in table knkk for the respective credit control area. Obviously field credit control area in tcode xd02 is not available and would also not be available for editing, even when screen tab customizing were changed. It is only shown in xd03. Also former key users working with a different IS Retail installation told me that they never keyed in credit control area in customer master tcodes xd*. So I am wondering right now, how system fills that field.
Thank you a lot for your help.
    Regards
    Christian

"""Just adding in Lakshmipathi's comment that if we maintain credit control area in KNVV-KKBER field and we have also assigned it in IMG with sales area system will give preference to KNVV-KKBER. If you have not assigned it customer master then system will determine it from customization.""""
Dear Moazzam, sorry--I need to differ with these statements.
Always System will gives the priority to sales area then only to customer.(in determining credit control area)
let me explain: If we take Credit control area determinations will follow the below procedure:
    1.Through the exit(EXIT_SAPLMV45K_001)
    2.Sales area(distribution channel)
    3.Customer master
    4.Company code
Note: For the first 3 situations,mandatorily- you need to assign your credit control area to your company code.(Deriving the Credit Control Area - Credit and Risk Management (SD-BF-CM) - SAP Library)
    Dear Christain:
As you are aware, we can maintain credit control areas can differ for each sales area.
For example, same customer has been maintained with two different sales areas.
Customer X in sales Area 1000/10/00-can have  credit control area A
Same customer in sales area 1000/20/00-can have credit control area B.
If business wants to maintain at customer master level--they can maintain( it is optional)
Otherwise simply they can assign for the sales area which will be defaulted into transaction level.
This is what is happening in your case.
Note: if you maintain assignments for your sales area--then this will be defaulted into KNVV-KKBER,even though you doesn't maintain manually in XD**/VD** Tcodes.
    Hope this helps.
