Change Currency Symbol

Hi,
I have SAR as my default currency symbol, but in Project Center and other places, it is the unit is displayed in Arabic Translation instead of SAR, even if I change the symbol from project professional. Is there a way to change the symbol from Arabic translation
to SAR (or blank in worst case, but not in Arabic translation)?
Thanks in advance
Atul

Hi,
Change from Regional Settings Options, yu can Find this over Site Settings,  and then all Project Server View refresh with the new values.

  • Changing Currency Symbol from the Menu bar to other than €

    I use the Costa Rican colon symbol ¢ (in front of number) as a routine value, as well as the U.S. dollar symbol and it seems cumbersome to select the "Inspector" to make these alternate currency symbols (or any alternate to € symbol). Speaking of the Costa Rican colon, it is represented incorrectly anyway and I don't know how to change the symbol.
    Also, in the pop-up menu of the "Inspector -- currency" all currency symbols show as € and only when a cell is clicked after selecting a currency symbol, does it appear in the cell (not correct, but at least something other than €.
    This is my first hour of "playing with" Numbers. I hope it's not a sign of things to come.

    There are many variations to the symbols used for currency worldwide, please, if yours is wrong let Apple know. The feedback option is under Numbers on the menu bar. This is a user to user forum provided by Apple, not run by them.
    My symbol on the menu bar is $, which is correct and rather common worldwide, maybe a generic currency symbol is used for smaller areas of the world. I know I have the Australian flag rather than a New Zealand one on my menu bar for the international settings. We are obviously too small to have our own
    You can show all currency options in the inspector by changing the Numbers preferences. A quick way of selecting the correct currency in the inspector is to open the list and type the first few letters.
    I'd expect your default would be the same as you have set in the System Preferences > International.
    You could also make a couple of templates for yourself in both currencies and use them instead.
    Numbers is a neat piece of software, keep playing with it and you may well get to like it.

  • Changing currency symbols

    I was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I have changing the currency symbol OS X uses. In days gone by I used to be able to go in to the International preference pane and put in whatever currency symbol I liked. These days all I seem to be able to do is select my currency from a dropdown list.
    My trouble is that here in Switzerland, the default currency symbol that this enters is SFr for Swiss Francs. In reality no-one uses that locally. It is either referred to as CHF or SwF. As most of the accounting apps I use take the default system currency symbol, I need to be able to change this to have invoices, etc properly formed.
    Anyone any ideas?
    Thanks.

    You said:

    Got it...no one uses SFr
    It is either referred to as CHF or SwF.
    Which I took to mean "referred to locally as..."
    So, being able to use 'SwF', which is one of the choices and one of the local references, should solve your problem...no? You seemed to indicate clearly that you wanted either...not custom. Sorry I couldn't help.

  • Changing Currency Symbol

    Since 1st January our country entered the Eurozone, so our currency has changed to Euro. I tried to change the symbol of our currency from Lm to Euro but some how I could not find where to custimize the numbers. I know I did it before because now it is Lm, that is the symbol of the Maltese Lira but it seems that the number customization has benn moved. Would appreciate any hep.

    Hi, thanks for answering my question. However the problem is not where to find the € symbol. In the Mac OS preferences I customised the numbers so that it would show the Lm sign, that is for the Maltese Lira. That way applications such as MYOB plus used to recognise the symbol from the OS and use it. Now that we have changed to Euro, I need to change the Lm sign in the preferences to €. But I cannot find from where to change it. I changed the currency to Euro, but for the symbol, my Mac still shows Lm. Usually there used to be a customization tab for numbers. Now I could not find it.

    Hi All,
    We are using BI APPS 7.9.4 with OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2
    We want to change the default currency for reporting from $ to £ in BI Dashboard reports.
    I have edited the currencies.xml file on $INSTALLDIR/OracleBI/web/config

  • How can I -change the currency symbol from Pounds to Euros in a spreadsheet?

    How can I change the currency symbol from Pounds to Euros in a spreadsheet?

    Assuming davyfromGib is asking about AppleWorks rather than Pages . . .
    If running AW under OS X, System Preferences settings allow you to use the euro rather than pound sign in AW's currency-formatted cells:
    System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats > Currency (set to Euro)
    AW respects this setting in choosing how to display currency format.
    But do note that if you later change the System Preferences back to pounds, the currency-formatted cells in the AW spreadsheet will also change to pounds.

  • How to change currency sign in report

    How can I change the currency sign in report like from dollar to pound sign. Any help and advice will be highly appreciated.

    Sherry,
    I'm stumbling my way thru the same question. we need to print the currency symbol based on the country defined in the data. here's the not-so-short answer:
    we're looking into storing the currency symbol as a unicode value (NVARCHAR2 field) in the database by country and linking it to the data selected in the report. I have a select statement in the report sql that retrieves the correct unicode value per data row. the question then seems to become: do i want to display the field as a number with a format mask, or convert the whole thing to a string/char value?
    Keeping everything as a number, in the report format field Format Trigger, i create a mask for each field and call a function to do the following:
    v_format := q'{(}' || q'{"}' || p_currency || q'{"}' || v_format || q'{)}';
    this gives you a mask with the parenthesis for negative numbers, the currency as literal string, and the v_format (NN,NNN,NNN,NNN,NN0.00) for currency amounts. we vary the # of decimal places and pass that value into the function (just to make things complicated.)
    the 'uber complex' version of the function converts the number field to a string/char value. this allows you to change the decimal and separator values for an individual data row. we have not decided to implement this, but it works. you have to enter a 'bogus' character field in the report format and use srw.set_field to change the value at runtime. this keeps the value as a number in the sql for math, but a char to display. complicated. the function does this...
              v_format := '999G999G999G990';
              v_decimalplaces := MOD((p_decimalplaces * 10),10);
              IF v_decimalplaces > 0 THEN
                             v_format := v_format || 'D';
                   FOR i in 1..v_decimalplaces LOOP
                   v_format := v_format || '9';
                   END LOOP;
              END IF;
              CASE WHEN SIGN(p_value) >= 0
                   THEN
                        v_format := p_currency || TO_CHAR(p_value, v_format, 'NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = '',.'' ');
                        ELSE
                        v_format := '(' || p_currency || TO_CHAR(ABS(p_value), v_format, 'NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = '',.'' ') || ')';
                   END CASE;
    we would pass the values of NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS to the function.
    the last 'hitch' is that not every UNICODE currency symbol displays properly. the euro (hex 20AC) is fine, but the korean won (hex 20A9) is not. the database character set is AL32UTF8, and the sql works fine in sql_developer. however, reports does not reliably display the symbol. i have a TAR into oracle at the moment, hoping for clarification. there seem to be many layers in oracle reports to get this to work (database character set, report server character set, font in developer, font on report server, etc.)
    let us know how it goes...an often asked, but rarely answered question (IMO). hopefully this gives you some ideas.
    thanks,
    john

  • Currency Symbol in Project Server 2007

    Hi,
    Is it possible to change the currency symbol resource wise in Project Server 2007?
    I need a resource rate to be in INR and another resource rate should be in GBP.
    K.Gokulraj

    Yes you're correct. All enterprise resources on server's project will have the currency defined in the server settings.
    Actually the options doesn't mean that more than 1 currency can be used in the projects, but that projects can be published with another currency than the one defined in the PWA server settings. Note also that you'll be warned (see screenshot below) of enterprise
    projects with a different currency due to the fact that it can cause redition issues.
    I'd suggest to convert the non-standard rate into the enterprise currency. You might add a resource custom to give the information on the resource native currency.
    Hope this helps.

  • Currency symbol in email notification

    Hi all-
    I need to display the currency symbol in the outlook email notification sent by workflow. If the country is US, then it should show dollar sign ($) infront of the amount (like: $ 100)
    I can display it for US, but while displaying it for Europe, i am having problem in diplaying the currency symbol. Please provide your inputs.
    Vinoth

    Hi,
    unless you change it to HTML I don't think you can do this.
    There is an SAP note about this "feature"
    Maybe they fixed it now, I don't know, so just search OSS on how to solve your problem.
    Usually I just use the currency key, USD, or EUR to display values

  • Currency symbol in front of value

    In the Lead screen - for Potential Volume (currency type), in our case we enter the value (f.e 5000) and it is shown as 5000 R$, meaning our currency symbol...after the value.
    Would it be possible to change this format...and show the currency symbol in front of the value ? like: R$ 5000
    Txs. for any help.

    Hi,
    You can try inserting formula and apply Substring formula.
    What is your Currency is it 3 letters like (PHP, USD)?
    Then try
    Substring(F_XXX,0,3) - for 3 letters currency
    Substring(F_XXX,0,2) - for 2 letters currency
    Thanks.

  • Currency symbol not shown when loaded report using JRC

    I'm trying to show the currency symbol in the report file. the .rpt files is already designed with MS Access table but now im reusing the report and populating pojo classes to map with tables. the report that is bound with MS Access table shows currency symbol in currency fields. but when I load report with JRC, it is not showing. I tried to change Fieldformat also programattically as below.
    ReportObjectController reportObjectController = report.getReportDefController().getReportObjectController();
    ReportObjects reportObjects = reportObjectController.getReportObjectsByKind(ReportObjectKind.field);
    if (reportObjects != null && !reportObjects.isEmpty())
                     for (int i = 0; i < reportObjects.size(); i++)
                         IReportObject reportObject = reportObjects.getReportObject(i);
                         if (reportObject instanceof IFieldObject)
                             IFieldObject fieldObject = (IFieldObject) reportObject;
                                IFieldFormat ifFormat = fieldObject.getFieldFormat();
                             ifFormatObject = (IFieldFormat) ifFormat.clone(true);
                             break;
    for (int count = 0; count < tables.size(); count++)
                        // Set data source for each table
                        setDataSourceForEachTable(tables.getTable(count).getAlias());
    reportObjectController = report.getReportDefController().getReportObjectController();
    reportObjects = reportObjectController.getReportObjectsByKind(ReportObjectKind.field);
    if (reportObjects != null && !reportObjects.isEmpty())
             for (int i = 0; i < reportObjects.size(); i++)
                 IReportObject reportObject = reportObjects.getReportObject(i);
               if (reportObject instanceof IFieldObject)
                             IFieldObject fieldObject = (IFieldObject) reportObject;
                             if (fieldObject.getFieldFormat().getNumericFormat() != null)
                                  fieldObject.setFieldFormat(ifFormatObject);
                                  //fieldObject.setFieldValueType(FieldValueType.currencyField);
                                  break;

    Above code just get one of the currency field and clones the format. And after setting the pojo datasource, I'm again setting the cloned format to that particular field. But still  Im not getting currency symbol in the reports that are loaded via JRC. even I set locale before opening the report. but that also not helping.
    report.setLocale(Locale.UK);
    report.open(reportName, 0);
    Please guide me, If I'm wrong in this.

  • Currency spinner that doesn't require currency symbol?

    I have a subclass of JSpinner that provides methods for formatting the spinner various ways...this helps ensure I do it a consistent way...rather than having formatting code scattered all over my app.
    Anyhow, I've got one small problem with my currency format. It's local-sensitive, but it requires the user to enter the currency symbol.
    So, the following are valid entries:
    $25.00
    $25.0
    $25
    But the following are not:
    25.00
    25.0
    25
    Anyone have a spinner that doesn't care if the user supplies the currency symbol when editing the field directly?
    Here's the code I've added to my extension of JSpinner:
    public void setCurrencyFormat() {
        NumberFormat ci = NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance();
        DecimalFormat di = (DecimalFormat) ci;
        JSpinner.NumberEditor editor = new JSpinner.NumberEditor((JSpinner) this, di.toPattern());
        this.setEditor(editor);
    }

    Okay, found this somewhere and plugged it into my spinner. Works like a charm. I did change the return so that it always returned a double...
    public static class CurrencyEditor extends DefaultEditor {
              public static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
              public CurrencyEditor(JSpinner spinner) {
                   super(spinner);
                   final JFormattedTextField ftf = getTextField();
                   ftf.setEditable(true);
                   ftf.setFormatterFactory(new DefaultFormatterFactory(
                             new CurrencyFormatter()));
                   ftf.setHorizontalAlignment(SwingConstants.RIGHT);
              private class CurrencyFormatter extends
                        JFormattedTextField.AbstractFormatter {
                   public static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
                   public String valueToString(Object object) {
                        if (object == null) {
                             return "";
                        NumberFormat curFormat = NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance();
                        return curFormat.format(object);
                   public Object stringToValue(String string) throws ParseException {
                        if (string == null || string.trim().length() == 0) {
                             return null;
                        Number number = null;
                        NumberFormat curFormat = NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance();
                        NumberFormat numFormat = NumberFormat.getNumberInstance();
                        try {
                             number = curFormat.parse(string);
                        } catch (ParseException ex) {
                             try {
                                  number = numFormat.parse(string);
                             } catch (ParseException ex2) {
                                  throw ex2;
                        return number.doubleValue();

  • Change Currency of entire workbook

    I have finally taken the plunge and converted my life from PC to Mac.
    In opening some of my old Excel spreadsheets in Numbers, I have found that the Mac automatically assigns the wrong currency to my pre-formatted currency columns.
    Is there a way to change the overall currency used in a document? Otherwise I'd have to select column for column, cell for cell. What a time-consumer!
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

    If you enter the Numbers Preferences, you may ask the app to display every currencies.
    Doing that on my machine I got two kinds of Rand :
    Rand financier whose symbol is ZAL
    Rand whose symbol is ZAR
    The way you described Rand in Excel doesn't match the list of currencies symbols used by Apple (which is an outdated one but I already reported tha several times to Apple).
    I guess that the described problem is linked to this "wrong" currency identifier.
    I searched in the features available in AppleScript for a way to drive the currency setting with a Script. I am able to define a range's format to currency but alas, I don't know the way to define the exact currency used. So, when I define a cell as a currency one, I always get the default currency setting.
