Change default audio volume from 75 to some other value

We are running Solaris with CDE. The sound volume is too high when
we reboot the machine. We can change it with
/usr/dt/share/bin/sdtaudio or /usr/openwin/bin/audiocontrol with a GUI
slider down to about 20. The default is 75. This works fine until we
reboot the machine, and then it goes back to 75, which is too high. I
can certainly add a boot script to change the value but I don't know
what to use. Things like
audioplay -v 20
just don't persist across reboots but I don't think this is the proper
method to change it anyway.
We are actually running Solaris 8 but I'm hoping this isn't an inherent limitation.
TIA.

raj,
there is no material number in the PO, it is given as SERVICE material group and given only text.
I observed once I enter the Unit of Measure EA the taxcode is coming and also after providing the purchasing org, purchasing group and company code.
Thanks for your time.

  • How to change the file type from IMOVIE PROJECT to other types of file

how to change the file type from IMOVIE PROJECT to other types of file??
thank you very much for your help=]

I am not sure what you mean, but once you make a project. Then go to the share menu and you can export the project to iDVD, itunes, mobileme, quicktime.
Share export quicktime movie will allow you to export to a variety of codecs. What specific export are you looking to share the movie in? What is the final source that the movie will be displayed?

  • HT4914 My music is stored on an external hard drive. All music that I buy, whether from itunes or some other provider, automatically gets loaded onto my external drive. There is some music on my computer drive as well. Will match work in this circumstance

My music is stored on an external hard drive. All music that I buy, whether from itunes or some other provider, automatically gets loaded onto my external drive. There is some music on my computer drive as well. Will match work in this circumstance?

I followed all the instructions for consolidating my music into one folder on my external hard drive. (I'm struggling with this because my ext HD was renamed when I synched my iPod shuffle last night. The "E:" drive has now become the "F:" drive and all my songs have those dreaded exclamation points next to them. Exploring my computer, I found "My music" folders in two place on my C: drive and one place on my external hard drive... and the song list in each place is different.
    Argh.
So... following the directions in the article reference here, I attempted to consolidate all of my songs into one folder on my external hard drive.
But.. I checked the song list when the "consolidation" was complete... and MANY songs are missing. They're still on the C: drive, but don't appear to have been copied to the new folder on the ext HD.
    I would appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks so much!
Edit: I tried to reassign the ext. HD a permanent letter, but my Control panel does not appear to offer the option of Administrative tools. Is there an easy way to get to this, as this seems to be the root of the problem?
    Thanks.

  • How can I change default audio / sound output or remove the displayport audio option?

I upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite and while I don't have any of the number of issues that see to accompany that move, I've discovered a different one that is not necessarily related to it, but is irritating.
    2014 Macbook Pro Retina
I use a thunderbolt to displayport (AKA just displayport) cable to attach a Dell monitor to my mac at the desk.
Prior to this update, the mac ignored the display as far as audio was concerned (the Dell does NOT have audio built in).  But now it seems to think it does.
Moreover, it continually switches back to that Sound output in the preferences whenever I plug or unplug an audio source from the audio jack.  This is Annoying!
Is there any  way to either
    1) set the default to prefer the internal speakers / headphones instead of the DP?
    2) remove the Sound output for the DisplayPort connection (which is a false connection since the Dell doesn't actually have AUDIO)
    Thanks much

I found the com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist and Com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist, but can't make sense of either enough to feel confident in altering any entries there.  here's the SystemSettings one that seems like it might have something you could change, but...

  • How to change default audio device for gnome?

My laptop has an integrated sound card, but I lately got a USB headset (headphones+mic, which works with linux btw, I tested it with GizmoProject which lets me choose which /dev/dspXX I want): http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=U200&cpc=SCH
So, how do I change the default audio device for *all* desktop sounds to the headphones? I tried the two gnome sound properties, and when I select the headset device they let me configure it but ALSA still uses the internal audio card. Why isn't there a way to easily select which device you want for your sounds as there is for BeOS, Windows and OSX?

Eugenia wrote:Well, it's still not good enough.
We can't satisfy everyone. What you want is a corner case. For most people ALSA and dmix works appropriately, and that is what esd uses by default. We cannot document and automate every configuration possible. That's up to the users.
However, if you don't want to restart gnome, try the below... I make a few assumptions, but even if they're wrong, they're hardly difficult to work around.
Just copy the /etc/esd.conf to ~/.esd.conf, make your change, then do killall esd. Presumably gnome will restart esd, and it ought to read your local config. If it doesnt, start it yourself.
Feel free to write a script that automates this, or document it on the wiki.
I have to restart Gnome to get this thing working. Other OSes *automatically* can use an alternative device. But if I change ESD, I will have to restart Gnome, no?
Well, if you try my suggestion above, no. You can restart esd yourself. And that's what all the other distros do, except with some fancy GUI.

  • Change default toolbar background from dark gray to light gray?

How do I change the default toolbar background from dark gray to light gray in illustrator CS6?
In the older versions, the toolbar backgrounds were light gray. It easier to read on light gray backgrounds.
THe same question applies to Photoshop CS6. InDesign CS6 has light gray backgrounds.
    thanks

I should have looked a little harder for the answer.
To change the interface background color to another shade of gray in Photoshop go to:
    www.photoshopessentials.com/basics/interface-cs6/
The same method applies to Illustrator.

  • Changing default template layout from pdf to excel

    Hi,
I've created an .rtf layout template. When I run the concurrent program, the layout defaults to pdf format. Is there anyway to change this to excel so that the user doesn't have to go into options each time and select excel?
    Thank you.

Yes, but you will probably need to apply a couple of patches. Background article here: http://garethroberts.blogspot.com/2009/01/revisited-changing-default-layout.html

  • Change default "create archive" from .zip to .sitx

    Hi everyone.
This probably sounds like a crazy question (why on earth would I want to do this??). In any case, I'm in an office situation where we transfer files over a network and an outside office connects to our servers via FTP. As we transfer files, we've had to zip them in the past, but now we're having weird issues with the some of the larger files getting corrupted, so our IT guy has told us we need to start trying to stuff them instead. (We're a Mac-based company, so no PC issues here).
In any case, when I zipped the files in the past, I'd just do the handy right-click and select "Create Archive..." option from the menu.
Is there a way to change the Create Archive function to default to creating a sitx file instead of a zip file?
Our IT guy doesn't seem to know off hand. He's a busy person so I figured I'd try to do some research for him, and if there's a way to do it, I'd let him know how.
    Really appreciate any help!

Just to add a bit to this: if you do get StuffIt Deluxe in order to have the Contextual Menu item available, BEWARE! The unpatched version of their menu will cause the Finder to crash when accessing the Contextual menu. There is a patch available on their web site. But the next system update may cause the problem to reappear.

  • Changing default audio application causes Flash Player to crash in Firefox on WinXP

my shockwave  (v17 installed) crashed constantly when adjusting audio. changed defualt web audio (options, applications, web audio) to windows media player from vlc. no more crashes...

On Win7 and higher with Firefox 37.0.1, Web Audio isn't an option -- but there are several dozen individual audio and video codecs listed.  There should be a discrete "Shockwave Flash Object" entry, with a "Use Shockwave Flash (in Firefox)" option.  I don't see a Web Audio entry.  I'm guessing that this behavior was problematic, and probably something that didn't make sense to carry forward to newer operating systems.
It may be some compatibility thing between WMP and Flash, but hard to know for sure.  I'll keep this in mind when working with Firefox/WinXP folks in the future though.
    Thanks!

  • Bouncing - Premiere to Audition to Premiere - How to change default save location from Desktop

When I am bouncing from Premiere to Audition "Edit Clip in Audition", and then apply the effect and save the file, it seems to save the file to the desktop. Is there a way to change this default save location? Can't seem to find it in the preferences.
Didn't even realize it was doing this. Desktop was getting pretty cluttered.

You can paste this command in Terminal
defaults write NSGlobalDomain NSDocumentSaveNewDocumentsToCloud -bool false
Or use Mountain Tweaks - click the Mountain Lion tab & it's the sixth item in the left-hand column.
Both will disable the default iCloud save & still let you have access to iCloud if you want it.

  • Can you change default text reader from TextEdit?

I use Bean, a great (and free) text editor, and would like to have it open automatically as my default text editor when I click on a text file, rather then TextEdit. Can that be set somewhere? Thanks.

If it were in Preference in addition to telling the system the application to use you would also have to tell which files you wish to make the change on. This way with File Information pane open, the system alreay knows where to make the change.
Beside the information about default application is maintained in the metadata for the file and not in preference for Finder. If you think about it that way, you can see that there is some logic to the way Apple does it.
You are welcome. Glad I could help. Thanks for the star.

  • Changing the Pan (volume from left to right) on my iTunes Songs?

My right ear or my headphones, hopefully the latter isn't as loud as the left one. As a result, all of the songs I hear sound slightly to the left. Is there any volume adjuster I can use to change this so the songs sound centered to me? I can only find making it loud or soft. No changing it from side to side, which would be really nice.

  • Is there a way to automatically control the audio volume on safari? Some streaming video sites (Hulu, in particular), like to try to deafen me with the commercials. And yes, I'm not an idiot, I know that I can manually control the volume.

I've been searching for some way to automatically control the volume, so the commercials on streaming sites (Hulu, for example), don't deafen me. And yes, I am aware that I can manually control the volume with the volume keys on the keyboard or the slider in the menubar.

This really frustrates me, small differences between the apps that shouldn't be there.
I understand you can't change the keyboard shortcuts to be the same/similar, but this is totally different. Let's hope it changes soon.

  • I am using iphone 5. Suddenly Audio Volumes from Earbuds is extreamely low. I cleaned up Earbuds but no luck . Please help to fix this

    Hi Guys,
I have recently pruchase brand new iPhone 5 32GB. Earbuds were working good then but after sometime I have noticed there is sudden drop of Volumes. Now its extremely low. I have cleaned up Earbuds but no luck. I have also checked with my friends earbuds. sound is coming great. I think there must be something wrong with my iphone's earbuds.
Please help me to fix this issues.

I received this email today and have no idea why.
    Dear Daniel Freeman,
You have now exceeded your iCloud storage, including an additional amount provided to allow you to continue receiving email. As a result, you will not be able to send or receive new email messages with your iCloud email address until you free up storage space or buy more.
To free up storage in your account:
    Step 1:
On your iOS device, go to Settings and tap iCloud.
    Step 2:
    Tap Storage & Backup.
    Step 3:
Tap Manage Storage and choose items you’d like to delete or stop backing up.
For more information on managing your iCloud storage, please read this article.
    To buy more storage:
    Step 1:
On your iOS device, go to Settings and tap iCloud.
    Step 2:
    Tap Storage & Backup.
    Step 3:
    Choose Buy More Storage.
You can also buy more iCloud storage from a Mac or PC.
I have not changed anything with any of my iOS devices (iPhone 4s, iPad2) or my Macbook Pro. I have 3.21GB out of 5GB of storage space free so I dont understand why this has happened.
will my iCloud email service still work?
