Change default memory on 5800
I've been searching the forums for the past half hour but I'm only finding references to other phones, so even though I think I know the answer, I thought I'd give it a try anyway... is it possible to change the default memory on the 5800 so when I install applications and themes they go on my memory card and not the phone itself? And, yes, one of the applications I'm talking about is that good old memory hog Ovi Maps which refuses to install even after I've uninstalled all the things that made my phone fun.
The opera 10 beta cannot be set as default. The final may have that feature, try asking on opera's forums.

How to change default memory storage for music in ...
i want the memory card to be default in the phone, so that i can just put all my music on it and forget about it. at the moment i use ovi player but this just puts it on the mass media memory, therefore filling it up quickly. is there a setting in either the phone or the application to put memory card as default?
There are some serious flaws in the Nokia software when it comes to saving your music to your phone's memory card instead of the mass storage area.
I have an N8 with a 32GB MicroSD card and I keep all my music there. It totals over 18GB at the moment so it won't fit on the mass storage area (16GB) no matter how much the Nokia software might want to put it there. This is how I get around the dilemma:
Nokia Music Player is what I use to handle my music collection. However, I don't use it to transfer the music to my phone because it will only copy it to the mass storage area. You can not configure Nokia Music Player to transfer to the MicroSD card so you can stop trying!
Nokia Suite on the other hand can be configured to save to your phone's MicroSD card and happily, it reads and respects the music library that Nokia Music Player has prepared. Unfortunately, Nokia Suite has very limited abilities when it comes to managing your music. It can't sort out the album art for example.
So you will need to use both programs, Nokia Music Player to manager and prepare your music library complete with embedded and optimised album art, and Nokia Suite to tranfer it to the MicroSD card on your phone once it's all ready to go.
Alternatively, you can connect your phone to you PC and treat it like a disk drive, copying all the MP3 files over manually. That's what a lot of people do because the Nokia software is awkward to say the least. -
How to change Virtual Memory in Windows 7 with SSD and 16GB RAM
I have SSD Samsung 850Pro with OS Windows 7 and have installed physical RAM 16GB.
In Adobe Help/Optimize performance/Photoshop written :
" To change Virtual Memory in Windows 7 and Vista, quit all applications and then do the following:
Choose Start > Control Panel, and double-click System.
Choose Advanced System Settings in the Tasks list.
Select the Advanced tab and click Settings in the Performance section.
Select the Advanced tab and click Change.
Deselect Automatically Manage Paging File Size For All Drives.
Click each hard disk letter to show the available space on that drive. Select a hard drive that has three times the amount of your computer’s installed RAM and doesn’t contain a scratch disk.

I have 16GB RAM
in the Initial Size box : 16384+300=16684MB
in the Maximum Size box:16684x3=50052MB
but in the description of SSD written :
" In order to address any potential lack of memory capacity, the Windows operating system automatically generates a block of virtual memory (pagefile.sys) on the C: drive. For example, a Windows® 7 64-bit system with 4 GB of physical memory would generate 4 GB of virtual memory at boot time.
In the past, before PC Memory (DRAM Modules) were available in high volume, PCs needed to utilize some HDD space to address any memory shortcomings. Today, with PCs featuring 4 GB of memory or more, it is possible to reduce or even eliminate the use of virtual memory. what is the right choice ???
Please HelpWindows set to default virtual memory : 16348 MB =16GB !
But SSD program Samsung Magician wants virtual memory between in the Initial Size Box :200MB and in the Maximum Size box: 2048MB or 4096MB. If more than 8GB suggests that SSD will work slowly.
Perhaps the description in Adobe execution Help / Optimize / Photoshop is not correct or ? -
How to change heap memory size for general java applications (not applets)
Hi. I made a java class which manipulates images and I sometimes get an out of memory error when the files are large. In these cases I can run it successfully from the command line using:
java -Xms32m -Xmx128m myappbut as I run this class from a firefox extension, I can't use this technique.
Could some one tell me how to set this globally? I've found a lot of info on setting it for applets in the control panel but that's it. I also tried editing my deployment.properties file by adding:
deployment.javapi.jre.1.6.0_11-b03.args=-Xmx128mbut none of these options seem to work.

You specified you are not using applets, but if you do, I would also suggest you use the next Generation Plug-in (since 1.6.0_10) that allows you specify the max memory in the applet without having to instruct the user how to make the change. I just got my BB about a month ago... I've been recieving pictures & music from friends but I cannot save the music b/c my BB wont let me change the default memory from the device to the sd card? I figured out how to do it for the pictures but not for the music... PLZ PLZ PLZ leave feedback.

First off sorry to hear about your issue...
The BB default save configuration once you insert a media card and insert batt will be to save to media card by default. If you are having issues with saving, try the following:
-Remv battery and reinsert once more.....
-Verify your s/w version (your service providers website will have the latest approved release) Do this by going to Options ->About 3rd line down will indicate your s/w version
- Verify upon bootup that the phone displays 'Media Card Inserted'
- You may want to consider formatting your media card AFTER moving your pix/flix/music to a CPU (BB desktop mgr using media manager icon)
Let me know some more detail once you check these items..... What model BB? What s/w vers.?

HI everyone. Well I just wanted to know if there is anyways to make you Memory card the default Memory for every operation including Web Browsing. As there is Little space in Phone Memory.

And no, browser cache memory cannot be changed, However AFAIK when you install a different browser like Opera Mobile and use that, if it is in memory card installed, then cache will go to memory card.

I need to change default tresholds for mentioned metrics but I can't their defenition in SYSMAN.MGMT_*-tables or suitable settings in OEM GUI.
And I have no time to edit treshholds manually for each target. )Modification of Metric Thresholds (as this is what you are referring to), should be done using the Metrics and Policy Settings link (to be found in the Target Home page).
Don't mess around with the SYSMAN tables!
Best thing to do here is to start using Monitoring Templates for this.

How to Change Default User Directory without changing System Directory
Hi Everyone,
I need to change default User Directory for my JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.2.
Default User Directory = C:/JDeveloper/mywork
Default System Directory = *<JDEV_HOME>/System*
Now I Need to Change it to
My Default User Directory = C:/Monty/JDev11g2/
But System's Default Dir = *<JDEV_HOME>/System*(Same)
For this i explicitly Set variable ide.user.dir to C:/Monty/JDev11g2/ in JDev.boot file as explained in Installation document.
Working fine but it contains System Folder too. I don't want this.
Any Help to find me separate these both as it works for Single User.

Someone knows how to change the default directory "tmp_ejb...." in WebLogic Server
7.0?
This is the default directory where WebLogic Server 7.0 generates and compiles
the EJB's declared in config.xml.
I try to specify the attribute TmpPath="ANOTHER_TMP_LOCATION_DIRECTORY_FOR_EJB"
in the EJBContainer node but still doesn't work.
The same thing happens when I test this attribute on EJBComponent declaration.
Someone knows if there is an enviroment variable that specify this tmp_ejb location
path?
It's false that the tmp_ejb is located where the config.xml file is placed.
I have 3 weblogic servers and they haven't the same behaviour.
