Change default messaging application
Hi I have a 5800 and I wondered if I could change the default sms application? I want to use a different app for messaging than the standard one that comes with the phone.
Just install it, and depending upon the settings of the app if it can set itself to default. For example, I have installed Free i-SMS, and whenever I receive a text message, due to the nature of the app, when I select show message, it goes directly into Free i-SMS and the message in the default application is marked as read automatically.

X6 setting default messaging application
Hey,
I am a brand new X6 user, I am not event very familiar with Symbian S60 OS. I recently purchased the application known as ThreadedSMS because I like to see my text messages threaded as in conversation form. After I installed it, the original messaging application still pops up notifications in addition to ThreadedSMS. Also when I click on a contact and wish to send a text message, it uses the original messaging application instead of Threaded SMS.
Is there a way to set the OS's default messaging application to be Threaded SMS so that I don't get double the notifications of incoming text messages, and so when I try to send a text message via contacts it doesnt pull up the original SMS application.
Also, does anyone know a more finger friendly Contact Manager application (similar to iPhone ) ??
Thanks,
JKDManojHi, you can't change the default messaging app, and for managing contacts Ovi suite is the easiest way ! Sync at least once per week
Good Luck

Acrobat X, change default message in emailing Forms
I have searched raised questions for an answer, there is one in 2010 on the same issue but for Acrobat 9, where Adobe simply say it can't be done, and the question writer tells Adobe they are foolish to not provide such an obvious requirement. So, hoping that Acrobat Pro X has adopted this since then. . . .
When distributing Forms via email, Acrobat provides a default message to go to the recipient. This can, of course be chnaged, but, everytime a new distribution is made, the default message has reverted and it has to be changed again. Any software designer with a ounce of intelligence would realise that the Forms creator needs to retain the modified message, and moreover, needs to keep a set of various standard messages that can be quickly selected.
I have found the file that holds the default message in location Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\Forms\AdhocWorkflowBackup. This is a file without any extension. I have a programme that can view the file content and see the default message wording, but, I can't modify and save.
Please can someone help. Currently, I have to keep wordings I need in a Notepad file and continually copy it in.
In Acrobat X, there are several small things not provided that a user of the programe would need to make it a really good service. It's as if Adobe just did not bother to finish it off with a full set of normally needed tools and functions.
Regards JonathanOK. I will live with the fact that I can not change the text in the purple instruction heading. I have a new problem. In order to prevent others from tampering with the form, I have used Password Protection, Restrict Editing, entered a password under Change Permissions, allow printing and filling in form fields. Then I used the Save As feature, Enable additional features.
I now have what I wanted, a form that can not be changed. A day later I decided to add yet one more line of instruction. I can NOT get into my own form. I know the password (obviously), but I can not get to a screen that will allow me to enter it.

How can I change default message encoding in Mail?
In Lion, most of my email messages in Simplified Chinese is encoded in iso-2022-cn, while I want them in gb18030 or utf-8. Instead of choosing encoding manually every time, can I change the default message encoding somewhere?
I think the only reliable way to do something like you want is to include something like a Unicode dingbat (range 2700) as part of each message (i.e. in your signature). That will ensure it goes out as UTF-8.

CHANGE DEFAULT OPEN APPLICATION FROM WORD 2010 TO WORD 2013
Hi,
I have both Word 2010 and Word 2013 installed but when I open any documents in the client on SharePoint, it automatically opens in Word 2010 rather than 2013. How can I change this to open in the newest version of Word?
ThanksTechnically, another forum :) Go to Control Panel -> Default Programs -> Set your Default Programs. Find Word 2013 in the list, and then select it as default.

Changing default audio application causes Flash Player to crash in Firefox on WinXP
my shockwave (v17 installed) crashed constantly when adjusting audio. changed defualt web audio (options, applications, web audio) to windows media player from vlc. no more crashes...
On Win7 and higher with Firefox 37.0.1, Web Audio isn't an option -- but there are several dozen individual audio and video codecs listed. There should be a discrete "Shockwave Flash Object" entry, with a "Use Shockwave Flash (in Firefox)" option. I don't see a Web Audio entry. I'm guessing that this behavior was problematic, and probably something that didn't make sense to carry forward to newer operating systems.
It may be some compatibility thing between WMP and Flash, but hard to know for sure. I'll keep this in mind when working with Firefox/WinXP folks in the future though.

Is there another way to change my email application to Outlook?
Download IC Switch (free) http://flipmartin.net/software
Click on Email tab
Click Add button
Navigate to Safari and select.
(I've never used my browser as a default email client so can't say with 100% certainty that this will work. Some links are hard wired to open Mail when clicked. If you Control click on a link you should be able to copy the mailto info and paste into a new Gmail message.) -
Problem with internet. When i open System preferences, Network, message drops down: 'your network settings have been changed by another application'. I click OK, but it dropps the message again and again, preventing me to do anything about the setting.
A Fix for "Your network preferences have been changed by another application" Error
In the Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ folder delete the following:
com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
NetworkInterfaces.plist
preferences.plist
com.apple.nat.plist
You will have to re-configure all your network settings since deleting.
(10.4.10)
Use Software Update to update your OS to last version of Tiger. Install all the other updates that goes along w/it. -
The page won't open when I click on the firefox icon I go to system preferences for dianostics and "the settings have been changed by another application" I can't close that message to keep on working.
Are you referring to a wireless router, such as an Airport Express? If so, and you bought a different router, you will need to set up the new router according to their instructions. With my Netgear, I had to go to their online website (they should have the URL listed in the instructions) and set it up there because the software that comes with routers is not compatible with Macs.
If you're talking about something else, then please let me know - I've just never heard of an Airport modem. -

Edited by: Paul Meehan on Oct 25, 2011 11:56 AMHi Maheboob
Im glad the note worked -
To find the note , you could do a note search on the message IW056 you received and the support pack level you are on ..
For EHP5 the note is valid up to SAPKH60504.
The IW056 is listed as a keyword so if you search on it the note should be returned.

Customizing default message "Do you want to save changes you have made?"
Hi all
Can I customize the default message generated by oracle forms "Do you want to save changes you have made?"
I want to change its title, message, alert style, button labels, and visual attribute. And functionality.
Thanks
Asad.Of course ON-MESSAGE will not work. Use the trigger on your Exit_Form button. Then check the form or block or record status (depending on your design) and do appropriate coding, something like this:
IF :System.Form_Status = 'CHANGED' THEN
retCode := Show_Alert('MY_EXIT_ALERT');
if retCode = ALERT_BUTTON2 THEN
Exit_Form(NO_VALIDATE);
elsif retCode = ALERT_BUTTON1 then
Commit_Form;
else
Whathever_It_Is;
end if;
end if;
If you have master-detail block and u're recieving the message when detail is changed but u want to scroll master records - write me a mail to tell u which trigger to use. It is not that I don't want to share info - just can't recall right now. -
Changing default database and application passwords
Hi,
We have default passwords for our newly configured Oracle ERP (R12).
I have a concern regarding the changing of default password. Does changing the default passwords will have any effect on normal working of ERP and database.
I know that we shouldn't change default APPLSYSPUB password. What about the following default passwords?
a) Default accounts having default password in database (DBA_USERS):
CTX SYS
OLAPSYS
DBSNMP
DMSYS
GL (oracle users .e.g AP, GL, AR)
APPLSYSPUB
OUTLN
PERFSTAT
SYS
b) Default accounts present in Oracle Application (FND_USERS) :
IBE_GUEST
OP_CUST_CARE_ADMIN
ASGADM
MOBILEADM
APPSMGR
IBEGUEST
OP_SYSADMIN
AUTOINSTALL
WIZARD
IEXADMIN
ASGUEST
IBE_ADMIN
ERP version : 12.1.2
Database Version: 11.2.0.1
Thanks in advance.

GauravHi Gaurav,
Yes as stated by Srini, It's highly recommended that you change tyhe default password in order to safeguard your instance by outside threats.
But please be cautious as you cant change these accounts as "alter user <username> identified by <new password>", but rather use FNDCPASS utility. I advice you to check on the TEST system before implementing on the PROD instance if you dont have prior experience using FNDCPSAS.
