Change default toolbar background from dark gray to light gray?

How do I change the default toolbar background from dark gray to light gray in illustrator CS6?
In the older versions, the toolbar backgrounds were light gray. It easier to read on light gray backgrounds.
THe same question applies to Photoshop CS6. InDesign CS6 has light gray backgrounds.
thanks

I should have looked a little harder for the answer.
To change the interface background color to another shade of gray in Photoshop go to:
www.photoshopessentials.com/basics/interface-cs6/
The same method applies to Illustrator.

  • Change default Windows background during deployment

I have a Windows deployment server up and running and deploying custom Windows 7&8 images which all work fine. I want to be able to change the default Windows background to a custom image during deployment so when a new user is created and logs in locally,
my image is displayed rather than the default one. I know this can be done by changing an entry in the registry, but I would like some help in creating a script to do this during deployment and also where this script would have to be placed and how to run
this. I am a noob at scripting and any help would be appreciated! ;)
    Thanks in advance

I am using the process documented at the link below in my builds today with a lot of success. In addition to setting the background for every user, it will also allow for setting the colors and accents. Pretty good stuff from the guys at CoreTech.

  • Changing default template layout from pdf to excel

    Hi,
I've created an .rtf layout template. When I run the concurrent program, the layout defaults to pdf format. Is there anyway to change this to excel so that the user doesn't have to go into options each time and select excel?
    Thank you.

Yes, but you will probably need to apply a couple of patches. Background article here: http://garethroberts.blogspot.com/2009/01/revisited-changing-default-layout.html

  • [Solved] Change default leaf background when unlocking screen in Gnome

This is kinda silly, but how do I change the default desktop background when unlocking screen in gnome?, its always that annoying green leaf background, how can I make it my wallpaper instead?

See the Gnome_Tips wiki article which contains the answer to this and other questions
    Change the Default Background Image
The default background is that zoomed in picture of a green leaf. It appears for newly created users, but more importantly, this is the image shown when the screen is locked. As of 25-Apr-2009, you can find this image here
    /usr/share/pixmaps/backgrounds/gnome/background-default.jpg
To change it, simply copy your favorite image to this locate (as root) and rename it.

  • Changing default colors to a dark grey background, can no longer see gmail buttons.

The bright white pages of most web sites hurt my eyes and I really enjoy making pages a grey color.
After changing Preferences/Content/Color/Background to a dark grey I really love how everything looks especially search pages, google calendar, gmail etc.
The problem is that many buttons have disappeared. These buttons are icons I believe so I do not understand why the background color would make them dissapear.
inspection of a gmail button that is now just an outline with no text or icon as follows:
    <div class="asa"><div class="asf T-I-J3 J-J5-Ji"></div></div> //inner html
    <div aria-label="Refresh" data-tooltip="Refresh" style="-moz-user-select: none;" class="T-I J-J5-Ji nu T-I-ax7 L3" act="20" role="button" tabindex="0"><div class="asa"><div class="asf T-I-J3 J-J5-Ji"></div></div></div> //outer html

    <blockquote>
so I believe much of the problem lies in the fact that many icons and graphics use transparency and that may be why they cannot render when I force a dark background using FireFox preferences for color.
    </blockquote>
It is because, when you <em>force</em> a dark background using the checkbox, you also prohibit use of background <i>images</i>. There is no meaningful HTML except for an id or a class to which the CSS attaches a "background" image (which is probably a simply bad practice).

  • Bouncing - Premiere to Audition to Premiere - How to change default save location from Desktop

When I am bouncing from Premiere to Audition "Edit Clip in Audition", and then apply the effect and save the file, it seems to save the file to the desktop. Is there a way to change this default save location? Can't seem to find it in the preferences.
Didn't even realize it was doing this. Desktop was getting pretty cluttered.

You can paste this command in Terminal
defaults write NSGlobalDomain NSDocumentSaveNewDocumentsToCloud -bool false
Or use Mountain Tweaks - click the Mountain Lion tab & it's the sixth item in the left-hand column.
Both will disable the default iCloud save & still let you have access to iCloud if you want it.

  • Change default toolbar colors, default interface in PSE8

I do not have good vision and am colorblind. The choice between "dark" and "light" user interface in the PSElements8 Preferences is still not high-contrast enough for my vision: I can't see the menu names and the buttons all fade into the background, even on the "light" setting.
Is there a way to set the toolbar buttons and user interface to monochrome (Black on White) like they were in PS6 and PS7?
Who decided that dark and colored interfaces were user-friendly? Put on your sunglasses and try to use PSE8, and you'll "see" my problem.
    Thanks.

I know it would have been difficult for you but there is no other way...
I would suggest you two try different Resolutions  in case that helps... Also try to switch between System Fonts and Application fonts through Preferences....

  • Change default "create archive" from .zip to .sitx

    Hi everyone.
This probably sounds like a crazy question (why on earth would I want to do this??). In any case, I'm in an office situation where we transfer files over a network and an outside office connects to our servers via FTP. As we transfer files, we've had to zip them in the past, but now we're having weird issues with the some of the larger files getting corrupted, so our IT guy has told us we need to start trying to stuff them instead. (We're a Mac-based company, so no PC issues here).
In any case, when I zipped the files in the past, I'd just do the handy right-click and select "Create Archive..." option from the menu.
Is there a way to change the Create Archive function to default to creating a sitx file instead of a zip file?
Our IT guy doesn't seem to know off hand. He's a busy person so I figured I'd try to do some research for him, and if there's a way to do it, I'd let him know how.
    Really appreciate any help!

Just to add a bit to this: if you do get StuffIt Deluxe in order to have the Contextual Menu item available, BEWARE! The unpatched version of their menu will cause the Finder to crash when accessing the Contextual menu. There is a patch available on their web site. But the next system update may cause the problem to reappear.

    Hi,

I want this because the 16 steps are to big for me as a sound engineer. I know it can be done with key **** + option + volume, but I dont want to press those key commands every time I change the volume.
So anyone out there can help me?

    Hi,
You can deploy the GP to block Microsoft account:
Windows + R -> type secpol.msc and press enter -> local policy -> Security option -> Enable Accounts: Block Microsoft account with choice "Customers cannot add Microsoft account"

  • How can I change default build time from 1 sec to .5 sec?

Whenever I create a build, the default time is 1 sec. I'd like it to be .5 sec. I use a blank master slide. How can I change the default build time for all slides? Or can I?

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

  • Can you change default text reader from TextEdit?

I use Bean, a great (and free) text editor, and would like to have it open automatically as my default text editor when I click on a text file, rather then TextEdit. Can that be set somewhere? Thanks.

If it were in Preference in addition to telling the system the application to use you would also have to tell which files you wish to make the change on. This way with File Information pane open, the system alreay knows where to make the change.
Beside the information about default application is maintained in the metadata for the file and not in preference for Finder. If you think about it that way, you can see that there is some logic to the way Apple does it.
You are welcome. Glad I could help. Thanks for the star.

  • Change default audio volume from 75 to some other value

We are running Solaris with CDE. The sound volume is too high when
we reboot the machine. We can change it with
    /usr/dt/share/bin/sdtaudio or /usr/openwin/bin/audiocontrol with a GUI
slider down to about 20. The default is 75. This works fine until we
reboot the machine, and then it goes back to 75, which is too high. I
can certainly add a boot script to change the value but I don't know
    what to use. Things like
    audioplay -v 20
just don't persist across reboots but I don't think this is the proper
    method to change it anyway.
We are actually running Solaris 8 but I'm hoping this isn't an inherent limitation.
    TIA.

there is no material number in the PO, it is given as SERVICE material group and given only text.

  • CHANGE DEFAULT OPEN APPLICATION FROM WORD 2010 TO WORD 2013

    Hi,
I have both Word 2010 and Word 2013 installed but when I open any documents in the client on SharePoint, it automatically opens in Word 2010 rather than 2013. How can I change this to open in the newest version of Word?
    Thanks

Technically, another forum :) Go to Control Panel -> Default Programs -> Set your Default Programs. Find Word 2013 in the list, and then select it as default.

  • Computer changes default image app from PS to AI by itself

I'm not sure where I should post this. I have my computer set to open all bitmap images in Photoshop (TIFFs, JPEGs, GIFs, BMPs, PNGs, etc). About once a month, my computer decides to make Illustrator the default application for images. It's annoying as bloody hell. Anybody have an idea as to what causes this?

There must be a system or software that updates once a month that is either conflicting and telling the system to see Illustrator as the default or is corrupting the preferences so it looks like Illustrator is the default app.

  • E65, change default e-mail from Vodafone to BlackB...

    Hi,
My E65 is on Vodafone (The Netherlands). This means Vodafone Firmware, where they have also implemented Vodafone Mail. But we use Black Berry Connect for our e-mail services (works like a charme, installation done within 1 minute).
Now if I want to send an e-mail, I go to:
    - New Message
    - E-mail
Than it gives me the following option:
    - Vodafone (default)
    - BlackBerry
Vodafone is highlighted, so you have to scroll down and than press OK.
Does anyone of you know how to set BlackBerry as Default?
This saves me 1 click, but a lot of annoyance.
    Thanks,
