Change default upload folder

When uploading files (Email attachments etc), the default folder in the Open dialog is Desktop.
How can I set a different default folder?
Thank you.

Desktop Is Not The Default Upload Folder In Your Firefox, If You Are Seeing The Desktop Folder While While Trying To Upload Something it just means that, The Last file Upload is From The desktop. :)

  • How do I disable or change Safari's default "upload" folder?

    Here's the deal:
Whenever on my brand new iMac I go to, for example, upload a photo in Tumblr or add an attachment in gmail, the box that opens in Safari always opens in the "documents" folder. This is a change for me from the older version of Safari I have on my 3 yr old ibook.
It used to be that the box would open up onto whichever folder I had previously selected from. This new "feature" is annoying when I want to upload, e.g., multiple photos in Tumblr (this website will not allow you to select multiple photos at once, but requires you to select "upload photo" for EACH photo), since I have to click on Upload Photo, then Media>Photos>iPhoto>specific iPhoto folder, THEN select the photo I want every time, rather than just Upload Photo>photo I want.
Is this just a new "feature" of Safari, or is there a way to work around it? I've searched the web and looked through Safari preferences multiple times. I also downloaded firefox and found that the same thing happens there.
What's particularly strange is that when I go to upload additional photos, the box briefly shows the contents of the previous folder (in this case, a folder in iphoto from media>photos), but quicker than I can select anything, it reverts "back" to the documents folder.
Is the only answer to move items INTO the docs folder before uploading multiple items one at a time?

what a quick response! If I can figure it out, I'll post it here...I have stuff on etsy and have to pick one photo at a time:  www.blackburnarts.etsy.com
    good luck!

  • Change default upload file destination?

When I upload photo files from a camera card, LR automatically comes up with a default file location under "My Pictures" (Windows XP). I file all my photos on an E: drive and it takes a bunch of mouse clicks to get there. Is there any way to change the LR default destination drive?

This may be OS related. On my Mac OS X 10.4.9, the "sticky" setting is saved between sessions. I just looked.
Now, I wasn't importing from a card. Just deleting and re-importing from a hard drive. But my experience as near as I can recall is that the changed setting for destination is "remembered" from one import to another.

  • Change default backup folder

Each time I start a backup from Nokia Suite, two subfolders ("Ovi" and "Nokia suite") are automatically created in "My Documents" folder.
I would like not to have these folders automatically created and select another default folder for my backups.
    Thanks!
    Solved!

    Hi kunFoo,
Yes this is a bug, Although default folder is changed, and when you again click Tools -> Backup, then Nokia Suite again creates the folder in the same previous default Nokia Suite folder.
Thank you for pointing this out.
    Best regards,

  • Change default trash folder

In Thunderbird, I have two folders on my email, "Trash" and "TrashMain". Right now, Thunderbird has set the trash folder to "trash", how do I change the location of the Trash (where if I press my "delete" key on a message and it goes to that folder). I know there is probably some easy solution to this question but sadly, I have not yet found it.

This isn't that complicated. I don't want hundreds of emails to stay in my inbox but I also don't want my emails to be deleted, so, I made a folder called "TrashMain" which will act as the trash folder but won't delete my emails after X amount of days. All that I want to do in Thunderbird is make it were when I delete an email, it puts the email in the "TrashMain" folder and not the "Trash"

  • Outlook 2011 - I can change default folder?

How i can change default open folder in Outlook 2011 (update 14.1.3)?
And how i can change default incoming mail folder (POP account)?

Here is what worked for me.
    changing the default application server.
    1) Verify that JSC2 is creating a WAR file in the project's dist directory.
    2) Download the Sun Java System Application Server 8.1
    3) Install the application server on another computer. E.g. 192.168.1.110
I changed the default port from 8080 to 80 because I wanted to port forward.
Don't know if this is required.
    4) Start the server! Browse to 192.168.1.110:80 and verify the server started.
    5) Run the admin console (192.168.1.110:4848) and manually deploy the WAR file
If you can't do this, it wont go.
Your browser might appear to get stuck. Wait for it to finish! Check your logs for errors.
If you get stuck, doublecheck that the server directory isn't write-protected.
    Test with a browser 192.168.1.110:80/ProjectName
    6) Tell JSC2 about the new server
Servers Tab -> Remote Servers -> rightclick -> Add Remote Server...
Select the right kind of server (Sun Java System Application Server 8.1)
    Admin Host: 192.168.1.110
    Admin Port: 4848
    Username: admin or whatever
    Password: shhhhh!
    7) Configure JSC2 to deploy the project to a different server during testing.
Projects Tab -> Right-click the project -> Properties -> Run -> select the new server.
    8) Click the little green triangle and it should deploy and start a browser to test.
    Trouble-shooting:
    - Problems will occur if you attempt to do things to fast. Don't cancel out of operations.
    - Don't modify any of you build.xml files
    - Don't compress the war file
    - Restart everything if you hit a problem
    - Don't ask me, I don't know anything about it. I just fiddled with it till it worked.
    - Turn off Netlimiter! (or any other bandwidth manager)
    - Turn off Antivirus monitoring software (stuff runs faster - security rish though)

  • Can't get photos in iCloud upload folder on pc to upload - help?

I've asked this question before but no answer for the problem. I believe I have everything set up properly on all my iOs devices and on my PC (where I have the iCloud control panel working). The problem is that any pictures I drop into the Upload folder for photostream don't ever upload to the cloud. All the pics I take on my iPhone or iPad will show up in the download folder on my PC, but not the other way around. I've logged out of iCloud on the PC and logged back in but hasn't helped. I've changed the upload folder, but that doesn't matter.
We take lots of photos that are loaded by SD card onto our pc and want many of them loaded to iCloud for viewing on our iOs devices but just can't figure it out.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Two tips:
    (1) Are you sure that the "My Photostream" function on each and every one of your iOS devices is turned ON?
    (2) In my experience, once the My Photostream function is on, dragging and dropping still photos into the Uploads folder works. But it does not (for me, at least) work for videos.  I thought it would.
Hope this helps. If you -- dwcliff -- or anybody else reading this reply would like me to clarfy anything further, as your questions, and I will respond to them as best I can!

  • Default destination folder on upload.aspx

    Hi,
Any way to set a default destination folder in upload.aspx without having to change upload.aspx ?
    thanks

    Hi Lior,
In that page are two query string parameters that identify in wich List and Folder you will upload file:
    /_layouts/Upload.aspx?List={ID List}&RootFolder=My%20Folder
List= Id from your destination list
RootFolder= Destination folder into list (If is in root of list this parameter must be empty)

  • How can I change the default save folder in MP Navigator for saved scans?

I am using MP Naqvigator with my Canon MP600 multifunction device and saving to an external drive is clunky because each time I save a document I have to browse to the device and the destination folder. I have tried to find a way of setting the default save folder from /users/myname/pictures/mpnavigator to volumes/drivename/foldername so that it speeds up the process. I've looked at all of the preferences files for the MP600 in the application and support libraries but can't see any reference to that default path. I'd be very grateful for any solutions from other Canon users.

It should still work the same way. I changed mine in either Snow Leopard or Lion and it remains the way i Changed it in Mountain Lion.
    bob[07:25]~>defaults read com.apple.screencapture location
    /Users/bob/Documents/ScreenCaptures/
to change it I had entered:
    defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/bob/Documents/ScreenCaptures/

  • Could I change the default temp folder(C:\Windows\Temp)?

    Hi All:
My web server is IIS 6. Sometimes the temp crystal report objects could not dispose when I close IE. I have some codes to control the evnet(colse IE to dispose CR objects) but the result is not good. Could I change the default temp folder(C:\Windows\Temp)? Because I want to delete the temp files by schedule. If the temp folder in C:\Windows\Temp, there maybe have anohter .tmp files in this folder and I want to avoid to delete them. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much. But this is not my solution. I prefer to set the temp folder by a method or attribute to set the physical path, or to change the register. On the other way, Can I set the Environment Variables like %BOE_TEMP% for the default temp folder. Because there maybe some other systems also used the same environment variables(%TEMP%). When I delete the temp file in %BOE_TEMP% folder, I will never to delete temp files of the other systems. Could I?

  • Changing default folder for photo export

In iPhoto '09, version 8.1.2, under the new Mavericks operating system, whenever I want to export a photo from iPhoto, the default recipient folder is Documents.  I want them sent to the Desktop by default.  I can't find any way of changing this default.  Can anyone help?  (This seems to be new behavior under Mavericks.)
       Bob Anderson

Long time since I used 09, but in 11 it defaults to the last used folder. Have you tried pointing it to the desktop and then seeing if the subsequent exports go there?
Failing that a couple of things: in any export dialogue command-d will point immediately to the desktop. For more elaborate and feature rich alternatives check out Default Folder X

  • Changing the default open folder

Does anyone know how I can change the default open folder in Illustrator? It keeps going to the Documents folder when I try to open a file and I'd like to change it to another folder.

Illy defaults to / recognises the *last* opened folder unless that's been shifted or some kind of housekeeping (such as clear all history) has been undertaken. In which case, and on first opening, it will open the default folder which will be 'My Documents' .

  • Change the default "Build" folder in LabVIEW

    Hi -
Is there anyway to change the default build folder in LabVIEW?  Currently, when I create a new build it defaults the target folder to "..\builds" relative to my current project folder.  I would prefer if it would default to "C:\Users\Nic\LabVIEW Builds\".

    Hello Nickerbocker,
Beginning in LabVIEW 2011, the default build directory is absolute (e.g. I just checked in 2012 it was C:\Users\<name>\builds\<project name>\My Application); however, as you have indicated, in previous versions of LabVIEW the directory was relative. There have been many discussions as to the advantages and disadvantages of using relative vs absolute paths, and subsequently starting from 2011 the default save directory has been implemented with absolute paths. Unfortunately, there is no method for toggling between relative and absolute paths when creating a new build.

  • Change default folder

Is there a way of changing the default saved folder in Pages? Thanks.

When you save you can tell PAges where you want the document to be saved. Next time it will save there too if you don't tell it otherwise.
