Authority to change entries through SM30 depending on values of fields?

Hi.
Is it somehow possible to set authorizations in a way, that a user could change only certain entries in a customizing table using SM30? What I want to achieve with this - we have an internationally used system, where consultants from different countries are working often on the same customizing tables and we would like to restrict tham to be able to change records only relevant for those countries, so they cannot change the records for other countries by mistake / on purpose. The records are usually identified by a certain "grouping" field (for instance MOLGA in table T511K or MOABW in T554S).
So far I couldn't find anything apart from the S_TABU_DIS object, which is too rough for this requirement.
Or maybe is there another way to achieve security in such a scenario?

Hi Dusan,
You can restrict access to tables by business organizational units using the
Line-oriented authorizations introduced in Release 4.6C. You could previously
only use the authorization objects S_TABU_DIS and S_TABU_CLI to allow or
prevent access to complete tables.
The introduction of organizational criteria allows you to restrict user access
to parts of a table. The authorization object S_TABU_LIN has been
introduced for this purpose.
One possible use for line-oriented authorizations would be that a user can
only display and change the contents of a particular work area, e.g. a
country or plant, in a table.
See the IMG documentation under Basis ---> System administration ---> Users and authorizations ---> Line-oriented authorizations.

Unable to change the entries in SM30

Hi all,
In my program i am inserting records using MODIFY DBTAB.
COMMIT WORK.
After the prog execution i hv to change the entries in the DBTAB.
I am unable to change the created records.
Can u pls explain me what is happening here?

To be able to use SM30 to modify any data in a database table you need to have a maintenance dialog generated for that table.
If you have one generated depending on the type of the dialog (maintenance allowed with restrictions) you will still not be able to modify the data.
If you need to change data through SM30 you should either create (or change to maintenance allowed without restrictions) and regenerate the table maintenance dialog. Make sure that the existing dialog doesn't have any customization to it because that will all be lost after regeneration.
The other option to change the data is would be through SE16 and debugger or through a program.

The user's path is : SPRO - IMG - CRM - Transactions - Settings for Opportunities - Define Opportunity group, priority and origin - Define source for opportunities.
When she clicks on the clock at this stage, she gets the msg " you dont have authorization for SM30".When i asked her, she told me she needs to update the table adding some data.
I am a little apprehensive about the change access to SM30. Any alternatives on how we do this ?

The system might be throwing a message with sy-tcode as the missing authorization, even although the check failed elsewhere.
Ask the user to create a shortcut with transaction SU53 entered in it, and drop it into the "no authorization" popup. What is the last failed authority check (before the popup is called)?
It is also recommendable to trace the user, as the SU53 only shows the last failed authority check... which may, or may not, be the reason.
Once you know exactly the reasoning behind this popup (the message number is often very usefull for a search in "OSS"!), then it is easier to comment.

Hi Reel,
Most of the IMG activities are indirectly require SM30 maintenance access. Assign the authorization objects CRM_OPP (opportunities) and CRM_OPP_LK (opportunity relationships) to the user account using SU01. These authorization objects indircly provide the SM30 access to appropriate tables in CRM whenever the user confguring opportunity object.

SM30 in Production

Hi,
I created a table maintenance generator for a Z table (in DEV) and set the recording routine as "Standard recording routine".
In DEV, when the table is changed using SM30, it will ask for a transport request upon saving the changes.
However, in PRD, the table still allows me to change it (using SM30) without asking for a transport request.
May I know why it behaves differently in PRD?

Hi Mehwish, can you please let me know how to prevent the user from changing the table entry directly (via SM30) in PRD but instead change it in DEV first and then transport the changes to PRD? Currently, although I already set the table as "Standard recording routine" in the table maintenance generator, it still allows the user to change the table entry directly in PRD and then save it. SM30 behaviour after upgrade

Hi,
In our production environment a table set to delivery class A with Display/Maintenance Allowed correctly maintains via transaction SM30.
In a system that we have just applied an upgrade to the same table will not maintain with SM30 and a system non modifiable message is returned!
WORSE still is that there are tables in the upgrade system that have the same dev class and data class settings and WILL maintain via transaction SM30.Anyone seen this and know of a fix.
I have even made a change to the table and regenerated the table maintenance dialog but no change in the SM30 performance for that table thereafter.

What is the exact Error message you get ?
Is your DEV system also UPGRADE affected ? What is the status in dev, are you able to modify here ?
In SE11 --> TMG screen --> Recording Routine, mark "no, or user, recording routine" and then TRY after re-creating TMG for this table.

After doing changes in OBA5 & SM30,in GL of all accounts we have put tick under open item management.But in case of two GLs where we have found balances and later we made said GL balance to Zero.But when we try to put tick in FS00 of said GLs and we want to save it,following errors shown in FS00:
You cannot change the open item management setting; (see long text)
Message no. FH087
Diagnosis
This account does not balance to zero.
System Response
You cannot switch the open item management specification on or off with this transaction.
Procedure
If you want to switch this function on retroactively for a certain account, you should create a new account with the correct setting and use this to make a transfer posting of existing items.
If you want to switch off the open item management function retroactively for an account, you must first clear all the postings currently on this account. You cannot make any changes to the account management method until this is done.

Output error of Remittance Challan (T. Code J1INCHLN )

TDS Remittance Challan u2026..Due to change in tax, ( from separate tax to combined tax), we had to change setting in SM30 table name J_11EWT_SURC ( the check box check removed ).
For new entries, output of Remittance Challan (T. Code J1INCHLN ) shows the values correctly. But for old entries it does not update the same in output of Remittance Challan. It still shows value as zero only.
There are around 400 entries gone in to system before change in above table. It would not be possible to reverse all entries.
How do we go about this?

try this,
select rownum as rank,ename,sal from ( select ename,sal from emp order by sal desc) where rownum<6
This query works on EMP table of SCOTT user.
If you change "desc" to "asc" it will start from lower to higher values. You can also play with the condition ( rownum < 6 ) to fetch ur desired no. of rows.

IBAN and House Bank

Hello Experts,
I have a problem about how to change IBAN number in House Bank (FI12). Since I filled the wrong number in IBAN field when I created the House Bank. Now I tried to change IBAN, but I got the error messages "IBAN does not match bank details" and "IBAN number is incorrect". I also try to change it via SM30 (view V_TIBAN), it is doesn't work.
Could any one help me solve the problem, since it is urgent.

My client is having one account in standard charted bank account , also we have multiple currency option for this account but they are providing currency wise
IBAN numbers. in sap we have a option to maintain IBAN number for account number wise or bank key wise and house bank wise .
but here my concern is for the same Account bank is providing currency wise IBAN numbers. How to maintain multiple IBAN number to single account in sap please suggest me.

Custom field MM17

Hello, I need some help here to use a custom field in MM17 (mass changes).
We've created field ZZPRLIVR in table MARC. This field is available in MM17 as a selection field but it's not available to be changed.
In SM30 we can change table MASSFLDLST and we see the field but the change is not made in MARC-ZZPRLIVR.
What else need to be done in ordre to do a mass change?

Table transport

hi experts, please solve my problem.
i want to know the detailed steps (if possible screen shots) needed to transport a table along with data from dev to quality/production server.

Hi Martin,
As already stated, if you table maintenance dialog has "standard recording" switched on, then all changes made through SM30 will be recorded in a change request which you can transport.
To manually transport the entries you already have, add an entry to your change request (or create a new one) with R3TR TABU ZWERKSCONFIG.
If you double click on this entry it will prompt you which keys you wish to transport. If you want all, then just specify the client and then * to take all values (if you double click again, it will show you the actual key names to help you specify more precisely what should be transported).

Check the sap note no. 1117735
Implement the attached correction instructions from SAP note 1117735. You must then make the following manual changes:
Call transaction SM30.
Maintain the view SWFCTASK.
Delete all the rows (usually two).
Customizing Object = "CL_SWF_CST_DEADL_SERVICE_JOB"
Save your changes.
As an alternative, you can import the relevant Support Package.

Hierarchy - description

Hi experts,
i have InfoPackage to create hierarchy from txt file. In hierarchy folder (selection) i have description of hierarchy and technical name and new name of hierarchy after loading ( tech. name ).
My question - I would like to change description of hierarchy, i can see button (Header Data ) over InfoObject, i can change name of hierarchy, but after loading the description is taken from desc. in InfoPackage again and i didn't find how to change desc. in InfoPackage.

Hi Martin,
that's strange. Here's a workaround - not a fix:
How about you just created a new Infopackage after you renamed the hierarchies as described in my last post and test whether that works.
If it does not solve the problem, raise a customer message with SAP. Maybe it's a bug.
