Change description of value fields and segment level chars in prod system

Hi
1 . We would like to change the description of some value fields.... We would like to know whether the change has to be carried out directly in the production client by opening the client using SCC4 or we should change the description in development client and transport it to production...
We are afraid that if we transport the operating concern again from dev to production system using KE3I, it may affect the transaction data which is already lying in the production system
2. We would also like to create and include some new fields as Segment level characteristics in COPA... What is the proces for the same and whether the same has to be done directly in production or transported from dev client
3. Some value fields which were copied in our operating concern from a template of Air line Industry, are not suitable to oour business. So we are trying to change their description.. But SAP does not allow to change the description of thes value fields..
Only those value fields which were created by us starting from VV***, can be changed.. Description of those delivered from the template, cant be changed. What is the process of doing the same

When the Operating concern was copied from Airline Industry, many standard chars which are not applicable to Airline Industry were not copied.... For eg: Material group 1 to 5... These are std fields of Mat master which normally exist in Operating concern when I used to create it manually.... Many other chars reqd by the business are not available
Someone else copied it using Airline template and many reqd chars are not available at all... I have the option of creating User defined chars for it and write a derivation rule to populate it...
Though COPA is active, my client does not use it as of now in ECC 5.0.. They would like to use it post ECC 6.0.. So, I thought its better to start afresh than carrying forward the mistakes done by someone else.. They are OK with this model, but I wanted to be sure what all issues can be faced due to this

Changing Net Value will effect the updation of various tables ...so u r right not the correct approach .
Can i put condition type and its value in Credit Request Memo and its value aditable same as in screen for Sales Order .if yes how , changing screen sequence group in credit memo request is creating problems

Hi Suresh,
As per my understanding it is not possible in a single Table.
If this is required for customized Z report then use this logic it may gives the correct information.
In the combination of MARD and MBEW.. From MBEW you can get the value for each Base Unit of Measure then multiply that value with storage location stock.
It may usefull to u..in the mean time i will try for some other option.

Idoc from XI to R3 losing fields and segments

The idocs I have posted from XI to R3 seem to lose some of the fields and segments.
The idoc is sent correctly from XI but the idoc posted in R3 have less fields and segments.
Any idea?

Hi,
Check in transaction IDX2. You may need to delete the Idoc Type Metadata from IDX2 and then resend your XML file to XI. It will then generate the new metadata.
Also, there was once when we encountered this case but simply deleting it from IDX2 did not fix the problem. We then deleted the entry directly from the table IDXEDSAPPL and that fixed the problem.
You may also want to refresh your XI cache via tcode SXI_CACHE.

To change User defined Value field from Amount to Quantity in COPA

I have created a created a User defined Characteristics VV930 - Number of labor hours. While creating, i wrongly assigned the chategory Amount instead of Quantity.
Now when i am trying to change it is giving me errors.
Also it is not allowing to delete and recreate the new VV930 with category as Quatity.
No data is posted in COPA.

1. Remove it from your COPA data structure in KEA0... Shift it from Left to right in data structure screen... Then try to delete it
2. Else, reserve this Value Field for future use and change the name as of now to XXXXXX...Create a new Qty Field for your use now.

Assign direct material cost to value field in copa while issue to Prod orde

Dear All,
My requirement is like this:
There are some 16 material groups from A to P each containing some materials(finished goods).
I want to allocate overhead to different material groups(Charecteristic in copa) in COPA using the periodic assesment cycles. I am able to allocate overhead(admin & sales cost) to different value fields in copa from different cost centers.
I want to analyse the product cost and also the profitability of each material group in COPA using Report painter. Iam able to pull all the costs which i assign to value fields using assessment. But, i am NOT able to get the direct material cost which is issued to production orders using BOM.
My question is whether we can assign the direct material cost to any user defined value field(material cost value field) while the material is being issued to production orders. Is there any automated way where we can directly assign the direct material cost to value field in copa while issuing the material to Production orders.
Pls explain me whether we can do it. if yes how?

PA is a Profitability analysis tool. That means it gets updated when a sale is made, not before. (Except for settlements and assessment of overheads.)
Goods issues for production gets updated in CO-PC, and needs to be analysed there. If you don't, you loose all the inbuilt tools for variance analysis, cost estimate comparisons, Wip Calculation etc. To the best of my knowledge, a Profitability Segment cannot be used as a cost object in Production Planning, because amongst others, you need to be able to capitalise the produced materials to stock at the end of the production run, or to WIP at the end of the Financial period,which is not possible with PS.
Similarly, overheads are recorded in CCA and needs to be analysed there.
If one goes against these big groupings in SAP, you always run into problems.

Change an attribute value in the last level of a tree

I'm using jdev 11.1.1.0.1
I have a tree composed of 5 VO. Each VO represent a level of the tree. I made an "executeWithParam" in my VO level 1 to pass some parameters.
I would like to make a "setAttribute" on my VO level 5. I'm working with a tree, so i can't do : "getMyVo.getCurrentRow.setAttribute..."
How can i do?
ideas :
- Today, i use bind variable to pass parameters from first level VO to last level VO : can i put the bind variable value in an attribute value?
- Is there a method to override in the viewRowImpl.java to catch the "setAttributeInternal" made by ADF? so i could change the value of this attribute
- Is there a method to override in the viewImpl.java which can help me?
I try a lot of think without success... hope someone can help me

Changing description of a field in shopping cart form in SRM Portal

Hi,
We have a requirement to change the description/adding a note to one of the fields in Shopping cart creation form in the portal. In the SHOP page, when we click on describe requirement we have an option to choose the product type as Goods or Services in the ADD ITEMS section. Here we would like to add a note for the radio button GOODS.
I tried to check the source and undertand that it uses the template - bbpsc01/99/saplbbp_sc_ui_its_1000.html
I'm not sure where I can view this HTML file and also not sure how I can modify this HTML page.
Please give some pointers regarding the same.

I could see the HTML code in SE80 -> Internet service -> BBPSC01 -> HTML Template -SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS -> Screen 230.
Can I directly modify the code of this particular screen? Is there any standard procedure that need to be followed to modify the HTML Template?
Please clarify as soon as possible.

Changing portal theme at css and .par level

Hi,
Is portal's theme completely flexible ? I mean,
1-I'd like to take the search box, next to the Logoff text at masthead instead of a standalone row which is default. But as the portal tool area has an individual par file, how will I achive it ?
2-I'd like to put the logo to the left corner of portal so that it will cover the masthead and also the tab area (portal content links) to the right of it. Just like a 2 column cell with 1 row in the first column (logo) and 2 rows (masthead and tabs) in the second column.
Any helps will be appreciated

First of all as I know, theme editor in Eclipse is only for NW04 SP9 , but I'm using EP6 SP2 P5. Anyways, I can handle it using notepad . My question at that point is, as the par files (for ex toolarea.par) has its own localization files,portalapp.xml and so on. If I just copy the content of toolareaiview.jsp , into some table cell in headeriview.jsp (the aim is to put the search box near welcome message for ex. and not to use it with a seperate content area), I don't think it will work as it will need other files (localization,portalapp.xml.. etc) . So what should I do ? Shall I also merge the other files in to one file within the par file of masthead ? Doesn't it make everything so complex ?

Hi,
There are two filtering in IDoc.
Segment Filtering:
Segment filtering can be achieved using T/Code BD56. Here you can suppress a whole segment irrespective of data inside it . You have to give Message Type / Sender Prrtner / Receiver Partner.
Data Filtering:
Data filtering can be done in dustribution model (BD64) where you can restrict whole IDOCS or partials IDOCS to be send based on data in fields inside IDOC depending on whether the segment in which you filter is at the highest level or at a lower level. For example in MATMAS if you put a filter of E1MARCM for a particular plant , only data for this plant will go and other plants will be ignored.

Changing value fields in COPA

Hello,
I want to change :
- the text description for 2 value fields in COPA.
- These value fields are assigned to the value field group Z002 (in the T code KEVFG), and I want to change this assignment
by linking them to the value field group Z001.
These 2 value fields are not any more used for 2 years. Can this change have a lot of impact in the production system?. Shall I need to generate again the operating concern after these changes?

Hi,
If you want to change the description of a characteristic
or value field you must change the descriptions of the related
data element.
Therefore you need to perform the following steps:
1. In KEA5 / KEA6, type in the name of the characteristic/
   value field and click on the create / change button
2. On the next screen, double click on the data element of your
   characteristic/value field
3. On the 'Display Data Element' screen, click on the tab strip
   "Field label". You can see the four field lables short, medium, long
   and heading. You should change all four field labels and then
   regenerate the data element. After having done this you may have to
   to regenerate the characteristic/value field and the operating
   concern.

How to Change the Value Field Type of a Value Field

How can I change the value field type from Currency to Quantity of a value field? I have tried to do it in KEA6. I can change the value field and its description, but not the value field type from currency to qty. If I change this config, is there any other changes that I need to make so there is no side issue of this change?

Hi Prem,
Once you created value field as quantity or currency, you can not change this nature of value field. Based on this, system creates lots of data and tables. For this reason system will not allow any changes in quantity or currency.
Alternative way is to remove the old value field and create a new value field assign to operating concern and put all your seetings.

Adding new value fields to an existing and productive operating concern

Hi,
I would like to have 5 new value fields active in 4 out of 6 operating concerns that I am working with.
Is it correct that I could do this one of the following ways:
1. Use a value field that exists already in an operating concern and rename it?
In this case is it necessary to regenerate the operating concern?
Do I transport the change ?
2. Create an entirely new value field, and assign it to the operating concern?
Is it necessary to regenerate the operating concerns in question?
Do I transport the change?
3. Select a value field that is currently in the system but is not assigned to any operating concern eg some kind of SAP delivered value field? How do I assign it to the op con? Do I need to re gen the op con?
Which way is the best or is there a 4th option?

Hi,
This note is a catalogue of notes of consulting notes where SAP tell you steps, reports to use and son . If you read them (these notes and related notes) you have the steps, guides, reports that you must use. Better advice. Try a solution with all steps in mind and check it in a quality enviroment. As you know there a lot of things in CO-PA concern (you have your own tables, with your own fields, your reports as KE2Rxxxx, and so on), your secondary indexes, etc.. , the best is try the solution in your Quality Enviroment (a quasi-clone of your production enviroment) and check the results (create SO, invoices, after modifications to check possible problems,...).

pd: I forgot. If the size of tables (CE4xxxx, CE1XXXX, ...check them with DB02) are so big, get the opinion of a Basis Consultant. Surely in the before note there notes about this issue.
