Change display's name?

esoteric question: i want to change the name for either one of my two 23" cinema displays. i'm using an itunes controller which displays album art in a specified corner of multiple displays, but since i have two displays titled "Cinema HD," the utility simply chooses the master display.
i realize this might not actually have an answer, and i also realize the utility should actually be able to work around this on its own. i'm okay with that. was really just curious.

I'd be tempted to contact the developer of the iTunes utility and get them to fix this in their program. It's pretty common to be running two of the same monitor in a dual-headed set up so they should account for that.

I have developed an email sending program using function module SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1. It is working fine but there is requirement that when the customer receives email, in the display name of sender, there should be some fixed name. But here in this case it is picking the Sy-uname i.e. system user name who is triggering the program.
I also tried the FM SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1, but it only changes senders email address, and the requirement is to change the display name in email.

You will have to use ABAP class CL_BCS. With it you can specify the sender, both the address and the name.
          lv_smtp_addr = iv_senderaddress.
          lv_smtp_name = iv_sendername.
          call method cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address
            exporting
              i_address_string = lv_smtp_addr
              i_address_name = lv_smtp_name
            receiving
              result          = lo_sender_address.

How I can change display name of workflow email address in sharepoint 2010. I want to configure display name (from address)of email
for each site collection separately.for example I want to change "software unit"
in below pic to another name for my software unit site collection.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change display name of workflow email address in sharepoint 2010.
In my environment, if I assign a task to a user, the email is as below:
The “test” is the site name, the [email protected] is the “From” user.
Do you want to change the “From” field in the workflow?
If so, you can have a look at the "Send email extended" custom SPD workflow activity (http://www.codeplex.com/SPDActivities
) which allow you to specify the sender.

How to change display name in iMessage?

My son has an iPod that's using iMessage to text. When he text to my phone, it has my name as the display name and not his. How can I change this so it can display his name instead of mine?
I am using my iCloud account on this iPod, not sure if it has anything to do with it.

Do you mean you want their name to display when you ipad imessages your iphone?
2 ways to do it
You can either add another contact and call it iPad Message for instance and just add your iMessage email in there.
Or
If its another persons phone they simply need to add the same email address into your contact on their phone.
I dont think its possible to not display your email address mind you if you are not already added at all in their contacts, i.e if you're imessaging an aquantaince and not a close friend via iMessage.
iMessage i designed for more personal use between friends and family unless you dont mind sharing your email address.
Why not just add another email address in iMessage to use if you're worried?

the columns names are normal text fields. Just selecdt to edit your report , go to the editor panel and select the column header you want to modify. You can enter the text you want to display

It's possible change the Display Name ? Yes.
You can change the display name by using the PERSONAL_NAMES mapping table.
For example to change the following on outgoing email (via tcp_local):
From: Shane Hjorth <[email protected]>
to
From: What The <[email protected]>
1) Add the personalmap keyword to the tcp_local channel
2) Add the following mapping table to the mappings file:
PERSONAL_NAMES
*|[email protected] $YWhat$ The3) Rebuild config
./imsimta cnbuild; ./imsimta restart
This is all explained in the messaging server admin guide "Handling Personal Names in Address Header Lines".

You can copy the Status 'Standard' of the program 'SAPLKKBL' and create a Z. Change the icon name in the Z pf-status as wished. Now in the event slis_ev_pf_status_set of 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' set the PF-Status to the Z that u created.

Changing the column names displayed via an ODBC driver

Hi we are just starting to used Crystal Reports to improve the reporting capabaility of a legacy application, we can access the data fine using an ODBC driver. What we want to do is change the column names that are displayed within Crystal Reports so they are more user friendly and not in techno speak,, so that the users can create their own reports. Do we need to used Business Objects to setup a Universe to do this, is their a simple cheaper method sorry if this post is in the wrong section

Change display name for existing users

Hi,
We have alot of users in our Active Directory. After an migration our existing users are displaying their name wrong. When we create a new user the display name is set FirstName LastName. But all of our old users have their User logon name as display name.
Is there a way to change the display name of our old users to FirstName LastName instead of the user logon names they are displaying now? Doing this per user is a hell of a job so this really isn't an option.
Example:
Full name: Peter Peterson. User logon name: pepeter. Display name: pepeter. (old user)
Full name: Tom Thompson. User logon name: tothomp. Display name: Tom Thompson. (new user)

I have found a script for Powershell that may be the answer to my question. There is only one thing that is not in the script. The script runs for all users. The PageSize is set to 2000 so it runs 2000 entries. Is there a way that I can run this script for

In the past you had to wait a while for the caches to refresh anyway, now you need to wait an eternity or contact SAP.
The "display name" is no longer editable.
So if you are going to choose a pseudonym which is well known, make sure the guy is already dead and cannot get up to any more mischief or new scandals...

You would have to sign out in order for your account name to not be visible.
Click your account name then click Sign Out.

Urgent : Change in displayed column name of the Metadata

Hi friends,
I am required to dispaly a field called "Ansprechpartner" in my layout set.
As I did not get any corresponding Metadata for it in the ContentManagement,
I used the owner field instead. But the Deutche name for it on doing language change is "VerantWortlicher".
Now it is required that the same data under owner column is dispalyed with the change in column name from VerantWortlicher to Ansprechpartner.
I tried changing the key label in metadata but in vain.
Please help me out...

I would recommand to duplicate the owner property instead of changing it to show a different label.
So the steps should be:
1. Duplicate the owner and create your own
2. Follow the Changing Labels for Properties tutorial ro change label:

IPhoto 11 can't find photo = displays ! Don't change orig path name.

I have seen several very helpful posts about corruption and rebuilding some files and trying iPhoto Library Manager, yada, yada, yada. One thing I didn't see was an explanation that helped me figure out what happened to my iPhoto database. i just kind of lucked into it.
If I'm not 100% accurate please correct me. The thumbnails would show up as part of the files in the iPhoto Library file (file collection actually). My problem appears to be where the thumbnail points to for the full blown file. I had changed the folder name as part of my normal routine (although I hadn't done it since importing my files into iPhoto).
My photos live in /Volume/HD-1/Golden Copy/Images Master Copy 10-15-11/
I added some new photos into this folder and as I have always done (pre-iPhoto 11) changed the name to the current date .....
/Volume/HD-1/Golden Copy/Images Master Copy 10-26-11/ <-- changed to the 26th of October
Well this hosed my pointers in iPhoto 11. I changed it back to 10-15-11 in the folder name and it works perfect.
So just another breaking point in iPhoto 11 that's easy enough to correct without all the rebuilding or reloading. Hope this helps a few folks.

Other than that, you could tryrebuild the Library with iPhoto Library Manager. First be sure to set iPhoto to run a Managed Library. It might not work, but worth a go. Final option is to start over from scratch.

How Can I Display the Name of iPhoto Library?

I manage a huge number of images so I keeep them in their own iPhoto libraries. In order to change libraries, I have to rename the one I have just left and then restart iPhoto. I have looked for years but cannot find a way for iPhoto to display the name of the library it has open. I could remember the names of all my libraries if I was not forced to change them in order to leave them and go to another. Does iPhoto tell you the name of the library you have open?

Hi John,
iPhoto 6 now shows the name of the library in the title bar of the iPhoto window. At least it did the other day for me.
You can have a unique name for each of your libraries and use the Option key to launch iPhoto and choose to open another library, then navigate to the library, highlight it and click open.
You can also use one of the iPhoto Library managers to switch between libraries.
