Change domain in number range

Hi, Do you know how to change the "number length domain" of a "number range object"?
We have a number range object using the domain "char7", it means 7 digits width, and we
need to extend to 9 digits. The field "number length domain" is now disabled in SNRO transaction.

We need to keep intervals for "historical information" purpose.
The field "Subobject data element" has the name of the data
element "ZEACSCTRLSEQ" that we use to store an ID that
groups intervals, for example:
- ID: 000001
Intervals:
01     0000001     0999999
02     1000000     1999999
03     2000000     2999999
- ID: 000002
Intervals:
01     0000001     0000200
02     0000201     0000500
03     0000501     0001000
- ...and so on...
So we are looking for a process to change the width of
the "Number Range Object" and its "Intervals" without
deleting the intervals.
¿How could you do that?

Hi,
The current number can be explained by use of buffering of the numbers. Buffering is defined via transaction SNRO, the AUFTRAG object is relevant for orders. When buffering is active, a set of unused numbers are assigned to each application server.
In your example - The fiirst 20 numbers were taken from the available number range and assigned to the buffer (possible 10 numbers to each of two servers). As orders are created a number is assigned from the buffer. Once the buffer values are used a further set of numbers are taken from the number range and the current number is increased (by buffer value).

Change FI doc number range indicator from internally to externally assigned

Hi,
I created a new numberrange for 2011 but did not check the Ext (external number range indicator).
When I try to change it to external by trying to mark the option, it does not work.
What can cause this ??

Hi,
check your settings in FBN1 for the number range. if the document number was assigned intially as internal and you are changing the setting in the next year system would not allow the change.The setting of No range is Co code specific if you change in one co code you will have to change in the other co codes.

Change Request Documents Number Range

Dear All,
For the transaction type SDCR & SDHF i have maintained Internal number range & un tick the early no assignment option. For few days there was no problem, but when i seen today, few numbers were missing for both CR & UC. When i checked in SNRO / SNUM the buffer maintained is 10. I dont want this skipping of CR & UC numbers in between. Hiow can i restrict this ? If i made buffer as 0, is there any issue will create ?

when declaring a transaction type in SPRO under ChaRM node, 'Define Transaction Types', Under 'Transaction Numbering' you can choose to check 'Early No Assignment'. If you do that, then Solman reserves a number for a new transaction each time you create a Document in CRMD_ORDER. If you do not save the ticket; then : number will be lost and Solman will go to the next one.
Thats how you have missing numbers in the interval you defined

Now the question is what would be the impact if we delimit the objects with earlier JF number range and

Have you already created any GL accounts under the current number range?
If yes, then once you change the current number range to the new range you will not be able to edit any GL that you have already created and doesn't fall under the new number range.
Example: If you have already created an account with the number 208888. Now you change the number range from 180000-209999 to 180000-199999, then the account that you had created does not fall under the new number range hence you will not be able to change anything for this account 208888.
If you have created GL accounts under the old number range but it also falls under the new number range then there is no problem for Example: If you have already created an account with the number 190000, and now you change the number range from 180000-209999 to 180000-199999, the account number 190000 still falls under the new number range so you will still be able to make changes to it.
If you have not yet created any GLs like above then there is no problem at all You can easily change the number ranges without any worry

Change / Create number range interval

I have an issue with number ranges.
I am working on a global roleout and and have an issue where in DEV client my PM orders are assigned to number range 5000000 - 5999999 but from QAS to PRD this number range has been used for something else. Infact all available number ranges are taken!!!!!! Poor management I know.
How do I or can I create a new number range interval for example 20000000 - 29999999. If I can do this I can the reasigne the PM orders to this new range.

what you can do is either change the internal number range ,for example if the existing no range is from 500-1000 then you can change the ending number range say from 1000 to 9999 and assign to the particular order type
or create an new number range for the order type and assign to the respective order

Survey Rating Scale - change number range order

Using SharePoint 2010 survey and have a requirement to change the rating number range from 1-5 to 5-1 when it is displayed in the survey
Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? I know I can change whether the 1 is high or low with the Range text, but how to actually reverse the order.
I see I can change spacing between questions, modify fonts, etc in the survery using css, but nothing on the rating scale.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

SNRO Change Profile Number range

HI,
We need to change the default number range of profiles (automatic assignment in Profile generator) as due to a mishap i the past any new number already exists in our production system. System BW3.0b on 4.6 basis . We already assigned new numbers in trx SNRO, but this has no effect, do we need to restart sytem for this change to take effect or is there any other thing we could have missed, does anyone have a document how to do this?

we went to SNRO selected object Prof_varis than to button change , clicked away "Dailog box make urgent repairs etc" then to button number ranges.Then cerated number ranges :
No from number        to number        curent number

Lats two only created after the first failures.
Then save. Fist time the sytem asked for a transport. Next times we got dialog box about no automatic transport and clicked that away.
if we now go to the profile generator and creat new role in authorisation tab we click on create profile the automatic generated number = T-DD210229 and we want thsi to be abv bove 300000.
Why is this not working??

Changing number range so that LIV and AP documnet numbers are same

Our client wants that LIV and AP document number should be same. As documents are already being created in production environment.
Please advise :
If it is ok to change number range at this stage as LIV and AP documents are already created in production environment.
If yes then what are the things i should take care off before changing the number ranges.

Not advisable to change the document number range at this stage, bcz there are some document which has already been posted in production environment.
LIV # is generated by MM (when you post the invoice) which automatically generates AP document (as follow on doc) internally.
AP always trace the AP document # and not LIV.

You need to be very cautious before doing this.

How to change number range from internal to external?

I have changed the number ranges for accounting document for company code (A1) external to internal and posted one accounting document using the tr.code FBN1. Now i need to revert back the changes for the number range from internal to external. i am not able to cancel the accounting document as its cancellation accounting document? please let me know any other way to change the number range from external to internal?

We have a requirement to change material document number range that depend on movement type.
I have check in SPRO and read some document for material document number range.
I understand that this is a standard SAP.
- GR from PO or Order         Number Rage will be 5000000000 to 5099999999 and Fiscal Year
- GR Other, GI, Transfer      Number Rage will be 4900000000 to 4900000000 and Fiscal Year
My question is Can we change this number range?
I guess that we have to implement BADI or User-Exit to determine new number rage but I don't know how to do this.

Hi,
Insted of Movemen ttype you can asign seperate number range to a transaction code follow the process as below
   First u need to create seperate document type in OMR4 or OBF4,   then create a new number range in OMBT assign your new number range to new created document type then in T. code OMBA assign new created document type to the transaction code so whenever u will create document with this Transaction code u can get new number range.

Hi SAPERLE,
best practice is to set the corresponding number ranges to higher values (e.g. the values of the sender system). So you don't get conflicts with the new data from sender system.
Another way is copying the NRIV table with TDMS BPL. But then you're changing all the number ranges and this could cause problems in other applications.
