Change email forwarding address in iCloud

I recently moved from mobileme to icloud.  On MobileMe the forwarding is working, and all emails are being forwarded to my previously configured address.
When I try to change the email to be forwarded to a new address, the system accepts the change, but new emails continue to be forwarded to the old address.  Anyone encounter this before?

When you set an Email alert for a calendar event you can pick from any of your email addresses on your card in Contacts.
In Calendar, double-click an event, and then click Edit.
Choose an alert from the Alert pop-up menu.
Message: Displays a notice on the screen (using Notification Center).
Message with Sound: Displays a notice on the screen and makes a sound (using Notification Center).
Email: Sends you an email. If you have more than one email address listed in Contacts, you can choose the one you want to use.
Open File: Opens the file you choose. If you don’t see the file you want, choose Other to select the file.
Choose a time or date from the accompanying Alert pop-up menu.
To add another alert, choose one from the next Alert pop-up menu. Each time you set another alert, a new Alert menu appears. However, you can set only one alert for events on an Exchange calendar.
To remove an alert, choose None from the Alert pop-up menu.

Welcome to the Apple community usama.butt.
Unfortunately you cannot change an iCloud mail address once you have created it. You can however use an iCloud alias which you can set up at iCloud.com.
    To create an alias.....
Navigate to the Mail feature at iCloud.com and click on the gear icon in the bottom left corner. Choose Preferences from the drop down menu, then select accounts from the options across the top, here you can create your alias.

  • Someone changed the forward of my iCloud email

I received an email from Apple iCloud notifying me that a forward had been added for my iCloud email account (I understand that we have the option of iCloud.com, me.com, mac.com but I don't even use iCloud.com, I use mac.com). The Apple notification told me how to go to icloud >prefrences > general, which I did...and sure enough, someone had added the forward address. I removed it and - immediately changed my password (numerals, uppercase, lowercase and special character). I sent and email to the forwarding address saying "nice try" - but, this is scary.
Last night I was changing planes in San Francisco and when I turned my iPhone on I got a popup asking if I wanted to connect to xxxx server (a mac), to which I naturally said no. I wonder if this is connected.

    Hello Erick26o,
What you are seeing is correct according to the following article. You can only access apps purchased in the country you have set your account to:
Change the country of your iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account
After you change the country of your account, you won't see the items you purchased from the previous country’s store in the Purchased section.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Changing email/apple id for icloud

Now I can not access Icloud because it is using my old email address. I can see no way of updating it to the new email address.
How do I update the emial/apple id in icloud so I can stop getting messages to sign in.

thats because the icloud settings still believe it is signed into the old email as the apple id. icloud is the only setting that has this issue. u will need to change ur primary back to the old email to sign out of the icloud settings, change ur primary back to the email u want to use, verify the new email, and sign into icloud settings using the correct username and pass.
tip: u dont need to verify ur email when u change it to the old one to sign out of the icloud settings. u only need to verify ur email address with ur apple id before u sign back in.

  • TS3988 Can not change e-mail address in iCloud

HI, I am trying up  change my email address in icloud it just  won't let me delete it and re installit in the new email address, I had to reset my password. I managed to change  my Mac and Ipad but this phone many thanks

If you're trying to change the iCloud ID (email address) on your device(s) you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Setting up iPad Mail so messages appear to come from an email forwarder address

I currently have my iPad set up to send and receive email from my btinternet.com email address and this works fine. I also have an email forwarder directed to the btinternet address and I would like to set up my iPad so that emails appear to come from the forwarder rather than from the btinternet address. I guess I need to set up a separate account but despite trying several times so far, I have been unsuccessful. Can anyone advise?

Yes, with iOS 6 your iPad can use your iPhone phone number to send and receive messages.  Your iPad must be using the same Apple ID for iMessage in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive as your iPhone.  If it is, and you don't see the number listed, first confirm that your phone number appears on your iPhone in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive.  If it does, then on your iPad try going to this setting, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in.
To have your messages addressed as being sent from your phone number, select your phone number on both devices in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, under "Start new conversations from".

  • Any way to change the default address on icloud?

I have an old yahoo account I didn't ever log into so I lost access to it.  I can't seem to change my icloud default address without verifying the email--which, in circular fashion, can't be verified because I lost access to it.
To preface this--I have tried to recover the yahoo account, but it won't let me retrieve password because it says the account isn't known, so asks "are you trying to register this address?" but, when I try to do that, it tells me the ID is taken.  Yahoo is to blame, really for this circular craziness.
So, I'm trying to use my more often-used gmail account (which I do have access to)
Every time i try to set up my icloud, it wants to verify my old yahoo address.
    Halp!
I've changed the address everhwere in my phone and ipad...it's still defaulting to the old yahoo account address...can anyone help me? Where do i tell it to see my new email address so I can set up my icloud?
    Many thannks!!!

If you want to change your email address, then you can change your Apple ID from your old address to your new address by following the steps in this article. (You should receive a verification email in your inbox of your new email address.)
Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs cannot be renamed.

  • Change email adress on an icloud account

    Hi,
I'd like to change the email adress attached to my iCloud account but can't figure out how to do so.
I've got 2 @me.com and want to change the one set up but can't find out where and how to do that.
    Any ideas?

You can't add an existing @me.com address to an existing iCloud account.
@me.com addresses are already Apple IDs and iCloud accounts are based on an Apple ID, so trying to add one to the other is effectively attempting to merge two Apple IDs which isn't possible.
Did you not move your @me.com MobileMe AppleID to iCloud as recommended here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895 ?

  • How to set my "reply to" email address to an email forwarded address

I own my own url, which is my last name, and I want the emails I send from mail to actually look like they came from "[email protected]" and not from the cryptic email name that my dsl provider assigned to me. By the way, "[email protected]" email addresses actually is set up to forward emails replied to it back to my cryptic email address (that is my real dsl email address).
I almost lost myself there, but my basic question is how do I tell "Mail" to send out a different reply email address when I send someone an email.

Does your ISP/DSL provider allow customers to enter a different email address to be shown as the sending address for an email account provided by the ISP?
If so, enter [email protected] in the email address field under the Account Information tab for your DSL account preferences.
This will appear as the sending email address for the account.
If your ISP restricts their customers from doing this (some do since spammers don't provide a valid sending or reply to address with their bulk spam mailings), you can include a Reply To address field for the message header but the reply to email address must be entered manually for each sent message.

  • How to Fix Wrongly Entered External Email Forwarding Address?

I feel so stupid... I'm setting up a client's server, and I thought it would be a great idea to setup an 'alias' email address at the client's domain, that would automatically redirect/forward their email support questions to our support address. So, I created a 'support' user in their server, with the email address "[email protected]". I then went into the mail options for the user, and set it to forward all messages to "[email protected]".
Apparently, the OS X Mail Server only forwards messages between accounts on the same server - ie., it will not relay the messages to a third party. But it does not bounce the messages, either. So the sender believes that their message was sent, but the message never arrives at the destination.
I deleted the dummy 'support' user, but surprisingly, that did not solve the problem of the disappearing messages: now, although there are no more users set to forward messages to "[email protected]", no messages are ever sent to that address. That is, if a 'normal' user on that server wants to send us a message at that address, their message never reaches us - and they don't get a bounce. It's as if their server is eating all the messages to that address!
I'm guessing that when I set up the forwarding to an external address I must have created some 'loop', or corrupted some preference, which is now causing all messages to that external address to either be thrown out, or eternally queued. Questions:
    1) How can I fix this?
    2) Is there a way to configure redirection to an external address without hacking away at config files that are likely to be overwritten at the next update?

    May be is to late:
    /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/bin/set_user_mail_opts -f list | grep null
    user: (null):   <[email protected]>
    Check the contents of /Library/Server/Mail/Data/db/.mailusersettings.plist
    Search the uncorrect mail addresses.
Search the correspondending user-guid, like 1AB9F9F6-024E-4D1F-9623-D22BDD93B826
    <key>1AB9F9F6-024E-4D1F-9623-D22BDD93B826</key>
    <dict>
    <key>kAutoForwardValue</key>
    <string>[email protected]</string>
    <key>kMailAccountState</key>
    <string>Forward</string>
    </dict>
    Run:
    /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/bin/set_user_mail_opts --auto_fwd reset -g 1AB9F9F6-024E-4D1F-9623-D22BDD93B826

  • "Feature Change" email confirmation address?

Received an email that says "Your feature change is complete" however I don't recall changing any of my features. It was sent from is [email protected] Is there a way on my account to see what the change was?

intlMind-We send notifications anytime that any change is made on your account. Therefore, if you recently changed to paperless billing, that would be one reason you would receive a notification. This also includes adding or removing features, changing your plan, or passwords, email addresses, home addresses, etc.

  • I have changed my apple email address and icloud is asking me to sign in under my old email then saying my password is incorrect how can i change it pls

I have changed my apple id but when i try to log into icloud etc it lists my old id therefore my password is wrong as there is no such account now, how do i change this to show my new id and get into my account

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.

How can I change my email address on iCloud?

    Hey Sblan2,
According to the following document, you are unable to change the iCloud email address.
from: Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID

However, one option you have would be to create an email alias:

  • I need to change my iCloud email address.  I changed it for my Apple id but I can't log out of iCloud to change it there.  Find my iPad is activated so I can't delete my iCloud account.  I don't have the email address the iCloud login has anymore.

I need to change my iCloud email address.  I changed it for my Apple id but I can't log out of iCloud to change it there.  Find my iPad is activated so I can't delete my iCloud account.  I don't have the email address the iCloud login has anymore so I can't have the password sent there.  To sum it up, iCloud has an old email for the account log-in.  I don't remember the password for the old email.  I have Find My iPad activated so the iCloud account cannot be deleted.  And I am already logged out of iTunes & App Store.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.
